Food- My go-to order here is usually three tenders with fries and slaw for $14 and change. A biscuit or role comes along for the ride. I brought this bad boy home and plated it up. That was supposed to be three tenders, but I think they went a little overboard! Now you see why I ordered the slaw. See my picture. As my cholesterol spiked in anticipation, a loosened my belt in preparation and attacked. Taste- OMG! Tender, juicy, white meat tenders with perfectly crunchy batter. Very good fries but they are consistently undercooked for about a minute. Fresh, crunchy slaw. It was several hours until I could write this update because I was comatose in my recliner! An easy 4 stars and probably 4.5. The minimal parking can get a little crazy and the fries need a little more time but that doesn't stop their legions of fans from stopping by including me. That's right, I am now A Certified Cheesesteak Connoisseur! What's a CCC you ask? We sneak into sandwich shops without announcing ourselves and deliver unbiased cheesesteak reviews on Yelp! That was my assignment today at this location. Of course, I was in disguise. Arriving- From US Route 27, just look for the Lowes signage. They kind of share a parking lot. Parking is usually easy peasy. The App- It's solid and I have two comments. 1.- It doesn't have a "Dine In" option which drives me crazy as other chains have it. 2.- The "Customization" section allows for special requests, which is a much-appreciated feature! Wi-Fi- There doesn't appear to be customer Wi-Fi, but Xfinity folks will be happy that there is a hotspot nearby. Ambience- They have a couple of tiny tables outside which are basically in The Lowe's parking lot with tiny umbrellas. I'd rather have a root canal with no pain meds that eat outside here! If you are a cheesesteak aficionado, the elephant in the room is the roll. This is not an Amoroso roll (Philly readers know what I mean), but it is very good and baked fresh several times a day. The beef was grilled nicely, juicy & tasty, with no fatty chewy pieces and the taste and amount of cheese was spot on. The veges were fresh and an appropriate amount. This was definitely a top-shelf sandwich. I had a food orgasm with every bite! Value- This is one of the most satisfying cheesesteaks you can get from a chain shop! Sometimes you can get a bigger sandwich from a private shop, but the quality and customer service can be hit or miss. Conclusion- If you desire to be a CCC like me, tough, I made it up! This is at least a 4.0-star cheesesteak and probably 4.5. If you're not in Philly, it's among the best you can devour! Arriving- They are in a huge plaza northbound on US Rute 27. Turn in when you see the MickyD's in front of it. Parking is a snap. Ambience- Way, way nicer than most casual buffets. Fancy lighting. There is an actual Koi pond with an ornamental bridge the kiddos will love. It's a big place with both booths and tables. Clean Men's restroom. I didn't check the Ladie's room because I wanted to avoid the screaming that would ensue! Casual dress or less is just fine. Customer Service- They bring your drinks and clear the plates. I've never had a problem, and they bring your check quickly. Pricing- Weekday lunch is around $15. Dinner is about $2 more. Dinner prices all day on Sunday. Extra seafood on Friday & Saturday nights. There is a small Senior Discount and special prices for the munchkins. There is a counter when you walk in, where you can pay before you are seated. I've never done that! I pay the server when I'm done and that's also just fine. Pro Tip #1- They do offer a full menu instead of the buffet and after dozens of visits, I've never noticed anyone ordering from it! Pro Tip #2- If your party is 6 or more, they are happy to make a reservation. Trust me and do it. Food- Eight buffet tables in the center of the room and a Sushi table and Hibachi Station along one wall. Over 100 choices. They have hand-dipped ice cream for dessert that is very popular. Pro Tip #3- The sushi table is very generic and that's not why you come here. The same is true of the few American items. Come here for Chinese food! Be a smart buffet patron and make your first trip a sampler plate. Go back for the selections you like best. 100 items will satisfy just about everyone. There is nothing fancy here. This is solid Chinese food, and you've seen most everything at other places. That's not a bad thing! Occasionally, one of my selections is not as hot as I would like but that is rare. Conclusion- I've been dozens of times as a single, couple, and in groups up to 12 folks and never had a bad time.
