    Bodega Boy
    Jason L.

Awesome. Came for Mother's Day (with reservation) and it was great all around. It's coastal, cool, breezy, a little upscale but not snooty, chill. Good food and strong drinks. Yours truly had a Bodega Boy; mezcal cocktail with sort of a horchata vibe. I also had the double double burger and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and amply portioned. Btw: get the butterscotch pudding. You're welcome. I left stuffed and slightly wobbly. Fun place, good service. I'd go back.

Stopped by this place on a whim! Was a really good choice for a casual but nice dinner on a Wednesday. Very friendly staff--Zach or Zack (unsure of his spelling) was great!!! He took care of us. The orange wine was funky, just how I like it. The cocktails were not too strong, and very flavorful and refreshing. Apps especially the ceviche (not pictured) were unique, light, and so tasty. The braised beef dish was so tender. The Cesar salad was good, and the fluffy big baked croutons w/cheese inside was unique but a little too rich for my taste. It could've used a little more salad dressing too. And the chicken added to it was quite dry and not flavorful. We would come back. :)

First visit and loved everything about this place! Location is so good, indoor/outdoor seating, cute ambiance, and delicious food. The cesar salad is a must!!! The double double was also so good! Server was very friendly and attentive to us. He found out it was my birthday and brought me a little dessert too!

The ambiance at Waverly is unmatched. It's very laid back and makes me feel like I'm on vacation. We have always done walk in and usually get seated even though we do not have a reservation. Come early though (before 11AM)! For brunch I ended up ordering the grilled ham and cheese sandwich. It has a sunny side eye on top along with prosciutto and creamy Gruyère cheese sauce. Looks like an art piece! Super yummy and decently priced. Service is tentative and waitress was super friendly and enjoyed our conversation. We will have to come back for their lunch hours as a few items caught my eye.

Very Beautiful and relaxing place First time visiting from LA and I would definitely consider coming back every time I visit La Jolla. The service is quick and fast. They are absolutely professional, not like the type of servers who come to your table with weird body language and very high tones." BTW this is something I always pay attention to" The food was delicious! I got the avocado toast with sunny side up and my husband got the turkish poached eggs and he also loved it. The beverages were fantastic as well. My matcha Latte was very warm and lovely. The red drink is on the healthy shot list, sorry I can't recall the name at this moment but it was very refreshing. Thank you again and hope to see you all soon again!

    Lamb shawarma wrap and potatoes

Waverly in Cardiff is a great brunch spot with a lively vibe and beautiful interior decor. The menu is nicely curated, offering everything from savory options like the Sonoma lamb shawarma wrap and sausage egg sandwiches to fun dishes like funfetti pancakes and crème brûlée French toast. Visited on Easter Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. The live DJ spinning vinyl added a fun touch--starting with upbeat tunes and later switching to soulful oldies, which felt a bit unexpected but still enjoyable. Located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking, next to an açaí spot and a pizza place. Ordered the lamb shawarma wrap and an Aplós Ume Spritz--the drink was refreshing, and while the wrap was a good size, it leaned a bit bland. The crispy potatoes on the side were a highlight. Food took about 20 minutes but came out well-prepared overall.

Great service, great atmosphere, and beyond wonderful food. I overhead a conversation about this place and had to give it a try lol... Definitely coming back!

Had a great brunch experience here! The food here is great and the vibe is even better. Love the laidback feel and was very surprised that they had a DJ playing live. SHAKSHOUKA * 18 This was super yummy. They use San Marzano tomatoes, which are the best tomatoes for any type of tomato sauces (not to mention marinara). The poached egg on top was also cooked perfectly, and the sourdough bread was the right balance of crispy and chewy. CREME BRULEE FRENCH TOAST * 16 This was better than I expected. Not sure what I was imagining for a creme brulee french toast, but they really captured the creme brulee flavor and texture. The french toast did't come with syrup, so if you're big on that, this might not be one for you. The sweetness was perfect in my opinion, and the fruits were very fresh. BREAKFAST RICE BOWL * 18 My friend got this one, so I can't quite speak for him, but he seemed to really enjoy it. The scrambled eggs looked fluffy and the greens looked fresh. Great macro options if you're looking to not crash after brunch. DARK HORSE * 19 This was a great drink! Well mixed and the flavors were good, I'm not surprised that it's a staple on the drinks menu (they have seasonal cocktails). My friend who comes here often recommended it and I agree with him. I would definitely get this again. THE WAVERLY * 19 If you're a gin fan, this is a great option. Another staple on their cocktail menu. Gin isn't my go-to, but I decided to give this a try, seeing that it was at the top of the menu. I'm glad I did because it was good. The service was great here, even though it's quite busy on weekends. I think it would be best to make a reservation and arrive early since parking can be an issue. The decor inside is very nice and the booth seats are super comfy. Not sure if the DJ is always there, but it can be a bit loud if you are looking for some place quiet for conversation, but if you aren't it's a really great vibe.

Very cute brunch spot. I loved the decor and the ambiance. They even had a live DJ! There were plenty of food options, including classic brunch items, rice bowls, and unique food dishes as well. It was very packed in the restaurant, so unfortunately service was a bit slow and it was hard to flag somebody down for water refills as the glass was very small. I tried the baja rice bowls. I liked how healthy it tasted, but it was lacking in flavor as there was barely any sauce. Wish I got one of the sandwiches or burgers as those looked tasty. Definitely seems like a cute brunch spot to drink at and hang with the girls.

    Erin Y.

Cute place in Cardiff with friendly staff, but food is a bit overpriced in my opinion. The croutons are $5 a piece! I got the egg salad sandwich, and I got what was pictured. Maybe don't advertise it as a sandwich when it's just eggs on toast? Or at least put on the menu that it's open faced

Waverly has a nice vibe and we were seated quickly, which was a good start. Service was mixed: the staff were polite enough, but we had to ask four different people for a highchair before one finally appeared. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, yet it took nearly an hour from ordering to getting our food - a long wait for what arrived. Portions are tiny and the prices are on the high side, so value felt off. My burger was just average - nothing special, though my husband enjoyed his dish more. It's OK if you're not in a rush and don't mind paying premium for modest plates, but it didn't wow us.

Just stopped in for a relaxing Sunday night meal on Super Bowl Sunday and it was pleasantly spacious and relaxed with some old-school R&B playing while the sun was setting. That alone is worth a review. But then we dive into the trout ceviche with shrimp chips that are fantastic, and all the flavors are lined up and perfect. After that, I'll do a Beef Rioja before either the butterscotch pudding or the sticky toffee date cake. I love this place!

Had a great time at Waverly in Encinitas thanks to our server Michael. Recommendations were spot on and ended up being some of our favorite parts of the meal. Thanks to his attentiveness our service experience was smooth and thoughtful the whole time. Lovely location and cozy interior! Will be back

We love that they use local foods like Prager brothers bread and Little Fox ice cream! We had a fun time celebrating our friend's birthday there and would definitely recommend this place as a cute date spot too. On the flip side, I will say for every dish we got, even though we enjoyed them, there was always one spice that would overpower the balance of the dish. The flat bread with burrata had too much salt in the spice mix on the flatbread. The beef tartar was good but slightly strong with the mustard flavor on the beef. The crispy chicken was also a little too salty. The Muhammara dip though, no notes. It was so good! This could all be personal preference, and we did enjoy everything! Those were just small things I noted about the food. Pricing for everything was reasonable and we left feeling full, which is super important

I don't know how to explain it- there is a seasoning in this salad with the mix of veggies that make me want to go full-on vegetarian. We also got the flatbread which was our second favorite dish- the nice touch of burrata and the various nuts and spices were delicate and divine. The crispy chicken and meatballs were good- but nothing to separate their dishes from other places with similar palate. The ambience and character is what makes this cute hideout a gem. We sat on the patio with a disco ball hanging from a tree, candle lighting, and their famous aqua painted door. Inside there is a DJ & dramatic jade green curtains hanging over tables, inviting you to camaraderie amongst friends over wine and good grub. I will literally go there back for this seasonal salad. I am now blue-that everytime I eat any other salad, it will all sadly pale in comparison to my first bites here. We came for an early Valentine's Day Dinner, but we left with an indention for salad delicacy that is simply irreplaceable.

The peanut sauce had a little spice (if you don't have any spice tolerance I would avoid the sauce, but it was sooo good). This was my favorite. - khao soi curry (has egg noodles) and that was delicious. We added the brisket to it which was a good add. My husband ate his so fast and I had to make him not take any more so we could have leftovers! DRINKS: - we got complimentary champagne for our anniversary which was so so sweet of them and made our night! The champagne itself was actually one of the best champagnes I have had. It had a nice sweetness to it. - my husband had the thai lager, which he said was okay. It tasted like most lagers he's had. - we shared the tangerine you are my sex machine as it sounded interesting and i do have to say this was the only thing we weren't big fans of. it was very smokey, but my husband put "old boat motor" in my head and that's all we could taste. if you love smokey drinks this would be for you. - I had a house cocktail that I cannot remember the name of for the life of me, but it was sweet, peachy (I think) and had champagne in it from what I remember. We had the coconut broth hamachi which was so lip-smackingly addictive with those wonton chips! I would come back just for that dish! The chicken satay skewers were also delicious and the sauce that came with it was a good mix of sweet, savory, spicy and salty. I do think from there it was kind of just okay? I got the half fried chicken which smelled a fish sauce glaze and that's what I went in expecting but there was no punch of that fish sauce flavor you know? It needed a bit more pop. BF got the pork belly banh mi bowl which I guess in theory why would you get that at a Thai place? But the pork belly was hard and firm, not as you'd expect it to be which was dissapointing. Our friends got the Khao Soi which was delicious I do have to say and the Panang with Brisket. I think it was cool to try but im just stuck in my ways and prefer the ole mom and pop down the road with more options. But its fun for a night out!
