They have good social distancing and sanitizing. I dined in and felt safe. I watched as they sanitized the tables. The burger was good! The cider I got wasn't my favorite, but it's not the resturaunts fault! read more

Great atmosphere and service. Good food and drinks. Fish and chips was a winner for me.

This is probably the best food in Houston. The service, the food, the clean open airy feel... Spaetzle was so perfect it brought a tear to my eye because it made me miss my dear sweet mother! We'll be back. read more

Watershed - Pork Belly special, Hot German Tater Salad, Poutine-German Style! - German Near Me - Houston, Texas

The hubby and I stopped in after a Yelp search suggested the Watershed for German fair. The cocktails were yummy, the service fantastic. We were greeted immediately upon walking in. The owner is well versed on his bar stock. Apps were ordered @ the bar & delivered shortly hot & fresh. We had the pretzel bites and the goulash. Both were delicious! We shared the fish and chips which again were freshly prepared and scrumptious. Definitely coming back again! Thanks for the great experience y'all! read more

Watershed - Kentucky Breakfast Stout - German Near Me - Houston, Texas

I am so pleased with this place. The counter service is different, but I am not above ordering... What really gets me going is the not-the-average bar food. Just how many more nachos can a guy eat!!! Bring the warm potatoe salad! ...I was there with a vegan friend. Rick spent the time to explain that, although they aren't a VG 'place', they have the good grace to make some of the specials to suit others than the common woman (or man). Stretch out from the "Chilli's" and try something new! read more

We love Watershed! It's a frequent chill space for my son and me. The neighborhood benefits and we are grateful! Craft beers and authentic German cuisine are second to Erin's continuously great service. It's never been a bad time and I've been there dozens. read more

There is a lot to like about this place and I've been here twice now despite it being on the other side of town for me. The food is not necessarily their strong point...although some of the items are pretty great. I love the soft pretzel and the German potato salad, while not authentic german potato salad, is better than the authentic kind. Little tokens of perfectly roasted potatoes with red onion and a mustard dressing that is reminiscent of the original stuff but elevated. Don't skip this side. Its the best thing they make. Then on the other hand, the "Jäeger sauce" is a watery regretful shadow of real jäeger sauce that you'd get on your schnitzel. It tastes ok-ish....but the consistency is not good. If you're looking for authentic German food, you're probably going to be disappointed here. If you're looking for a fun spot to hang with friends and get some decent "german-style" food, you will like this place. Otherwise try Rudy Lechner's which isn't too far away. read more

I wanted to like it so much because it's close by and I love supporting small businesses. First off, it is a little weird that you have to go to the bar and order everything, including food. They do not have your typical waiter/waitress service. The atmosphere is very basic and not super inviting. I did like that they had a patio, although it was also kind of basic outside as well. I ordered a cocktail and it was just mostly sweet syrup and I could barely taste the alcohol. We ordered various food items and everything was just fine. Nothing blew our socks off. I hope they make it but we will not likely be back. Especially when Kings Biergarten is just a little drive away in the Heights... read more

Not quite German, as I would like, but not bad. The ketchup was very much in par with Germany.

Good large pretzel, fun selection of beers. I wish there were more options for dessert

Food was ok and service was great, but the schnitzel tasted off and goulash was filled with cardamom. Still good and only semi affordable german place in houtson read more

I had the Ruben and Sweet potato fries. They were awesome. They #8 wheat beer was the best wheat I've ever had. I should have gotten the name since I drank 4 but for some reason I forgot Atmosphere is cool, comfortable and very friendly. Parking is amazing as there are wide open open lots everywhere around. There is a liquor store in the same shopping center. read more

So so glad we finally got something like the Watershed in the Westbury area. Westbury, which is one of, if not the, biggest neighborhoods in all of Houston ISD (by # of houses) is devoid of places to get great, non-chain food and a good craft beer. As such, my wife and I usually go north to Bellaire to eat at The 401 or Bernie's Burger Bus. First thing to know is that you order at the counter. There's 30 beers on taps and others in bottles/cans if that's your poison. They typically have a solid little rotating tap featuring a wide variety of styles including a good selection from Houston area breweries; as well as, a handful of German options. What I love is that you can grab an regular pint *or* an 8oz draft ($2 less). The ambiance offers an abundance of natural light. There's plenty of room, which includes a patio, which will be nice once the weather cools off. The food is really focused around smoked meats: sausages, pastrami, turkey, schnitzel, et al. They do have burgers (which are very good) and a few 'bigger ticket' items like fish and chips and grilled chicken. If you force me to complain, I do think the prices trend a bit high (especially if you're comparing to the neighborhood vs. other areas Montrose, the Heights, etc.). I'm all for good margins if it keeps this place in business, and attracts others like it, but I have to admit that $16 for reuben does sting a little. I've enjoyed everything I've had there thus far. The service has always been solid -- even when really crowded. Appreciated that the owner came around and checked on everything. He was very nice and mentioned expanding the menu as they continued to work out kinks and refine their approach. Overall, we're a big fan of this place and it's quite kid-friendly so we'll continue to return for our craft beer + smoked meats fix. read more

Since German food is scarce in Houston, this place is suitable. The beer selection is good. The food selection is limited and taste is there but not anything to scream about. Having been raised in part in Germany as well as transiting through many times, I look forward to eating German food. This place will do in a pinch but not for planning a meal out. read more

I've been here twice in the last two weeks. It's that good! The beer selection is nice! 30 beers to choose from. The food is DELICIOUS! 10/10 do recommend! I'm guessing the person that helped us the first time is the owner. He was very nice and walked us through the menu. That was in the middle of the day. The crowd is family friendly in the afternoon. Lots of parents and their children. read more

Clean, relaxed ambiance, nice people, like that much is home made. Food took a while, but they had good intentions and kept everything hot while waiting for the pork shank. Pork shank was tender and came off the bone. Potatoes that came along with it were good too. The schnitzel was ok, more like what I'd expect to get at a corner store/deli in Germany than at a restaurant. I order jäger sauce on the side. Glad I didn't put it on the meat since the flavor was a bit tart and extremely buttery. I mean really it taste like sour melted butter so we couldn't eat it. The bratwurst has a fresh taste but the flavor/seasoning was not consistent throughout the link. I had a couple bites where seasoning was overwhelming and some where it barely had flavor, also had a couple hard pieces in my link so probably won't order it again. The curry ketchup really helped bring the bratwurst together(but it couldn't over come the inconsistent flavor and hard pieces). The bread was really good. Potato salad is interesting. It has a vinegary, buttery, nutty flavor that is a bit of an acquired taste. I didn't acquire a taste for it. read more

Delicious, we come here a lot. My kids love the big pretzels and sweet potato fries, my husband and I love the sausage sampler and the chicken schnitzel and red cabbage... all fantastic choices. They also have a rotating beer selection and some interesting ones. They are very laid back and friendly every time we visit. We are glad this place exists so close by. read more

Went for a fundraiser and for trivia night. Fun place to hang out. Really good soft pretzels.

We checked out Watershed tonight. It's exiting to have a place like this in the area, that's not a chain or fast food restaurant. The food was as expected, bar food, I had wings and my husband had the bratwurst. The owner said they'd be expanding the menu so we'll be looking forward to that. They have a great beer selection as well as a wine menu and full bar. They have TVs to catch sporting events and an outdoor patio area that will be great in the fall as well! read more

Watershed - Checking out the new local spot! - German Near Me - Houston, Texas

Cute spot with a good selection of beers (and other beverages) and food. The menu is german but they have some creative vegetarian and vegan options, which is why we gave them a shot. Everything was great except for the pretzel bites. They were deep fries which we were not expecting. Staff is friendly and good atmosphere. Music could have been louder on the patio, but overall it was cute. read more

We had our first visit tonight. Great atmosphere, very relaxed and comfortable. Staff was friendly, helpful and the owner was there walking around/talking to all (very nice guy). Food selection was small, but great choices. Great selection of beer, wine and cocktails. We loved the Moe's beer and small Simpsons references all around! Also, everything was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back and I wish them all the best. We've been waiting for a place like this to open in our neighborhood! read more

This is our new favorite neighborhood destination. Great German inspired pub food and an always strong 30+ tap beer selection. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the owner has been there every time we've gone and goes out of his way to make everybody feel welcome. We're always thrilled to see it packed out and are so glad to have a new neighborhood restaurant. read more

Still excellent food and service. We love this place. We haven't had anything that wasn't just spectacular!

A cool neighborhood spot. Owner greeted me at the door, and was present the whole time. Friendly bar tenders who knew the menu. The kitchen closes at 10 and bar at 12,; I Walked in at 9:55, and the bartender was still kind enough to offer a menu and warned the kitchen was about to close, but that I could still get my order in. That might not seem like a great thing, but as a former server/bartender, we know the kitchen hates those last minute orders, so for her to offer was a testament to their commitment to the patrons. I appreciated it. They have the local games on all TVs, easily visible from anywhere in the bar. Nice options. I will return! read more

I am a frequent customer here and love this place. It's great to have a neighborhood spot where they literally know your name. Fun atmosphere with a great beer selection. I can't say it's the healthiest food out there. However, I really enjoy the garden sandwich, spinach salad, the smoked Rachel and the cabbage rolls. The goulash is spectacular. Found this little neighborhood gem! Way to spruce up the Meyerland/Westbury/Bellaire area! Lots of great beer on tap, hearty burgers & wursts & other food fares offered, & a pretty sweet patio area all nestled in Meyerpark & you don't even have to drive to downtown, midtown, or heights, etc. The guys that own the place live in the neighborhood too, so they sympathize. Been waiting for Watershed to open! Did not disappoint. Rotating taps are varietal and local, sours, IPAs, stouts, porters, and even an always $3 ale pint (Moe's Dank)! Got the smoked turkey (in house) sandwich on marble rye (in house souerkraut, sauce etc) and it was very good. Smoked turkey was delicious! Fiancé got the goulash and it was tender, flavorful and hearty! His case with bread and I got fries as my side and they were perfect. Can't wait to keep coming back as a regular and try everything as the menu evolves. The owner gave us an inside scoop that their first special will be a duck confit in a few weeks! Can't wait. Just. Wow. This is a legit kitchen that makes stock the old way! Everything is top quality here. Nothing lacking in the food department. It is a bit of an odd (unique) setup where you order at a bar, even if you are sitting at the table for dinner. It works though. Never have to wait for the bill!
