I called TerraFirma and a couple other companies to get quotes. RJ arrived and I explained the issue. He took about 45 minutes to inspect and gave me an estimate for under $4,000. I was happy with that, signed the agreement, and cancelled the other companies' visits. A date was scheduled for a month later (just before Christmas). The technician Jeremy arrived on time and prepared. He was easy to get along with. A few hours after he informed me that he finished about 1/3 of the shop and that was all the foam in the estimate. He told me that he could stop or continue, but there is an extra cost. I felt like I really had no other option but continue. Jeremy seemed to empathize with the situation I was in and did what he could to keep the cost down. After all was set and done, my $4,000 estimate had turned into almost $10,000. I was unable to get in touch with RJ to talk about it at the time. He left a voicemail stating he was on vacation, but would elevate it with the team. After the new year I left voicemails with Victoria, the project manager, several times over a week and a half with no return call, even though being told she was in the office. I finally explained my issue with the person who answered the company's main line and that I had left several messages with no response. She advised that she would send an urgent note to Victoria and her boss. The next day I received an email from Victoria simply stating the technician had already given me a break and that I signed the authorization for additional work. I understand overages and that estimates are just a best guess, but my final cost was way over twice the original estimate, my calls were ignored, and the company does not seem to be concerned that my project was $6,000 over the estimate. Needless to say, I will not be doing business with them again.

Living in a 30-year-old home for the past two decades we've had several phases of upgrades, but one…read morething has always been absent from a 10x10 slab on our back porch: a hot tub. So, this summer, we decided to move forward with the plan to be "soakin' for the holidays" three months away. The only thing standing in the way of that dream: the slab and its neighbor had sunk a few extra degrees, roughly three inches, at the far edge. We were going to need to shore up and permanently stabilize this slab if our hopes of the (3-ton when filled) tub were going to materialize. I made a quick call to Terra Firma and they had an estimator out within a few days. The pricing was reasonable and had the standard 50% up front 50% when complete-type contract. Casey arrived spot-on at 8:00am yesterday morning and began doing his magic (the process involves boring 1/2" holes through the slab, then using high pressure and heat to inject a molten expanding foam under the slab.) The foam is rated to support about 5 tons (10,000 pounds) per pound of foam material, and....100 pounds later that whole slab is back to following the prescribed slope perfectly, raising almost three inches on the sunken side. He did a great job and was a great rep for the company, explaining what little was left to explain. He kept me up on the status of the (4-hour) job as he went along--because our slabs had previously cracked, he had to gently lift it up in small sections so as to not have the sections separate further. Perfect job. 24 hours later and the patched holes have dried to almost-invisible (see photos). Unless you know what you're looking for, you can't even really see that repairs were made. Now I just need to fill in the pre-existing cracks with concrete patching caulk and we're ready to schedule the hot tub delivery! Yippee! Thanks Terra Firma!

The tech who arrived on time noted that the system was probably still under warranty (I'm a new owner of the house and it was installed by the previous owner). Will definitely contact them for any future issues.

Painful, but they buyer wants it done before closing. Then I was told that I had to pay $250 for them to come out and locate it, even though it had already been located. This is in addition to the estimate. So they send this 20-something kid out. He spends all of 15 minutes on my property, most of which is locating the oil tank that we explicitly told him had already been decommissioned. He told me he saw no reason that the workers would have to damage my patio, which I paid $12000 to have professionally installed. Project day arrives. They send super young dudes out to my house with a digger. I doubt they were old enough to buy beer. I asked how they protect the ground from the machine. They must have misunderstood because they told me they put down plywood. Nope. They drove it through my neighbor's yard and my yard after heavy rains leaving deep tracks, then they dug a foot into my patio. When they uncovered the cesspit it was already 3/4 full. So here's me thinking surely my bill will be lower, right? There was a quote for materials and labor. Less materials were needed to fill the hole. Less labor. Nope. Bill arrives for $5100. They also say they will put down grass seed, and that never happened either. So they tore up my yard and my neighbor's yard, damaged my patio, even managed to break one of the pavers, and didn't even put grass seed down. Avoid this company. Greedy, unprofessional, sent unsupervised kids to do the work, don't do what they say they will do, and they do not care how they treat your property.

We were scheduled for a 10:30 on Tuesday appointment and there was a lot of moving the schedule around to make it work but we needed it done. 10:30 rolled around and passed with no one showing up- I called the company (Jim) and spoke to him asking when he would be arriving. After some explanation that he was in conversation with the buyer they decided to try and reschedule the appointment... Umm, I'm the owner and paying for this service to be done & the new buyer really has no say in the matter. I was upset to say the least- He asked if he could come another day and I told him no this day was already shuffled around to make it work since the rest of the week is packed with not only working but moving and remodeling our new place. He said he would be arriving at 1pm then so I got my toddler down for a nap and waited.. and waited.. and waited. No call & no show. Finally my patience was thin & I called him to see where he was at 1:45. Some bs excuse again then he proceeded to tell me he would be arriving now at 3:00. (I had to be leaving for work at 3:30 and now had to work some magic & have my hubby come home from work early to watch our toddler and dogs so this company could FINALLY GET THE FREAKING JOB DONE. Seriously the worst experience in a long time and not sure how companies can stay in business when they literally don't show up or contact customers when they scheduled themselves to do a job. The system is in and ugly as heck but I could care less at this point since we are moving. Guess this is the end the rant/review. If you do hire these guys plan on blocking out the full day and calling them for details cuz you won't get it otherwise!

I was put in touch with Alex, who explained everything I could expect start to finish including best-case through worst case scenarios. He was very thorough and didn't sugar-coat the possible expenses. With my eyes wide open I greenlit the work and never regretted it. As it turned out, contamination was detected but not so bad that the tank and soil had to be removed. It took a total of four or five visits of two people each (except the last visit which required but one person to fill the tank in with an inert material and cover it with dirt.) Hard to see the area was ever disturbed. It's important to note that everyone that came out was professional, got right to work, stayed working, and gave me no sense of attitude. I regret not capturing their names as they were all great. Of equal importance is that Alex was also professional, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and kept me in the loop step by step. Literally. That said, there were no deficits throughout from service to execution and I can HIGHLY recommend Soil Solutions for this type of work. Based on my experience, you just can't go wrong.
