Had them in this week to install a radon mitigation system after an inspector found levels over 8. They were prompt, kept me updated, and had it all done quickly. Job appears to be durable and they were conscious about asking about future work to be done in the basement when planning out the location of the system. The blower seems fairly quiet - I hear a slight hum when in the adjacent bathroom but otherwise not noticeable. Price seems to be on-par with other companies. Edit: Update - when they came out to pick up the radon detector the levels looked great y noticed a vent that could alter the levels. They wanted to re-test to make sure the system was working properly. I really appreciated that they did this without being asked - it shows that they actually want to do the job right - even though it meant they'd have to come back again. read more

Well, I called them and told them I needed a radon mitigation system set up due to a high test result when purchasing my new house. We booked an appointment at my house. Working with the team from Cascade Radon was a great experience. They were punctual, stayed in touch, and did the work they agreed to for the price they agreed to. The work was done cleanly, with little disruption to our home. My radon went from averaging around 6 pCi/L to .2 pCi/L. Of course your mileage may vary, but our system is working spectacularly well. I highly recommend cascade radon! Let me tell you why. I have never experienced such honesty and integrity with a sales person before. We moved in a little bit ago and our neighbors told us we should get our radon levels checked. We did a short term test and our levels were at the high end of the safe zone. We contacted one company and they gave us a quote and said yes we should get it done. We contacted Cascade and the service person that can out to give a quote, Steve Blackman, said we should do a long-term test to get a more accurate reading. If he had not told us that we would've spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily! Cascade's quote was thorough, had garuntee to get the job done right (which the other company did not have!) and they we're less expensive than the other company's quote. Steve followed up via email, was not pushy, talk to me about where I could get a long-term radon kit, even how to use it correctly. Having Cascade Radon install our radon venting and fan could not have been a better experience. Especially given that they drilled our foundation, ran pipe up the back of our house, drilled holes in two roofs, ran power to the fan, and cleaned up after themselves. Ben was awesome, running circles around a handyman and his crew I had working on another project, and also having to deal with a foundation estimator who was in and around his work area as well. A basement window pane was accidentally cracked due to the foundation drilling, and Wade at Cascade offered to personally replace it a few days later. I'm sure that Cascade Radon is very responsive to new customers, per all of the recent customer's 5 star reviews. Our home had a system installed by Cascade Radon. Four months out of warranty in 2018, a fan broke. It took a week for them to get there after I called for service. The repairman (Chip) told me that when he sees a fan that breaks a couple of days out of warranty, he waives the cost of replacement - like this happens all the time. He told me about two specific incidences where this did happen, but he said that 4 months was too long out of warranty for them to do anything on the replacement cost. That was a surprise to me. He did offer a free radon test, which isn't a service we actually need...so no thanks. At any rate, said repairman ordered the replacement part, and I had to call, and call, and call to try to get him out to make the repair. Finally, it was their receptionist Kristen, who really stepped up. She came in early to kindly plead my case to someone who does scheduling and Garrett came that day to make the repair. Hopefully, I didn't spell anyone's names incorrectly in recounting my experience. You'd think a company would do a better job of standing behind their products, at least by providing a break on the labor to repair the system. Don't believe them if they tell you they're installing a 20 year system. Sadly, it is not, and Cascade Radon won't stand behind the products they sell. read more

While selling a house my homebuyers contracted with Cascade Radon to perform a 2 day radon test. Of course our levels came back just above acceptable. This necessitated a $1575 mitigation system be put in place. As the homeowner I contacted Cascade Radon and signed a contract for the work, paid a $500 deposit and scheduled an appointment. The earliest appt available was 10 days out putting us right up against closing. The day of the repair we were waiting at a vacant house for 2 hours when I called to find out what was going on. We were not on the schedule and no one could explain what happened! They also couldn't find my information because they still had the buyer's name on my paperwork. Through much aggravation they did install the system that day but did not install it the way we had discussed. We were not able to monitor from start to finish because of the scheduling problem. When we arrived they had already put the system in a completely different place. Following this Cascade Radon continued to send me bills for payment in the name of the homebuyer. Also, they neglected to credit me for the $500 deposit. It took my realtor several emails to straighten that out. When I called to make a final payment they couldn't find my bill under my name. I would not hire this company. They may be highly recommended and skilled but dealing with them may just cost you a home sale and will be sure to cause you much aggravation!!!
