I think people only post about the garbage company if they have something to complain about! I've had nothing but great service from Waste management in Carson City. We have a contract with WM that gives us residential garbage service once a week for about $5 bucks a week ..... can't beat that, plus option for TWO big ass recycling bins, where you don't have to sort your stuff anymore ... AND Two, big yard waste bins, for grass cuttings, and any tree or bush trimmings. On top of all this you get 3 large item pick ups curbside per year .... they took a fridge and a washing machine! They'll even take a couch or recliner! all this for $5 a week! The person service I get when I call is a real person and not much of a wait if at all to answer your call. They are very friendly and informative. This is a LOCAL call to East Carson, so yeah you could go in in person if you wanted! Why then if you go to Google and look up WM Carson City its 955 reviews and 4 1/2 stars? read more

Trash cans are knocked over on a regular basis and trash spilled on the street and trashmen are apparently too lazy to get out of their apolstered seats to pick it up. read more

They destroyed my recycle bin then took six weeks to get me a new one. Had to call them three times

I have walk-up service due to cerebral palsy. A good 30- 40 % of the time they don't P/U. I'd use another WM service but there isn't any in the Carson City area. read more

Worst customer service i have experienced in my life.. I know this review is a waste of my time because they are to big to care From the people who refused to pick up my trash, to the customer service rep that left me on hold for over 20 minutes, over a 70 dollar past due bill(which i was unaware of' All current bills are paid and she says its my problem I work nights and cant respond during the days to their automated system And she can suspend my service if I am 1 dollar past due Great job and she wonders why I got upset read more

We have a dumpster managed by Waste Management in our apartment complex. They come once a week on a Thursday, and the dumpster by then is usually quite full. They generally have provided excellent service, like moving stuff out of the way to get to the dumpster, and being careful not to hit any parked cars nearby. The problem is at least four times since 2016 they have not come. One time was at Christmas, and they failed to show up two weeks in a row. Another time was a few weeks ago in early May. They do not have a local number or contact info, so I chatted with the national office via live chat that Friday, a day after they were supposed to come. The chat went fine. They said they would contact the local office and dispatch someone that day; or if not then, as it was late, on Monday. But the truck never came until next Thursday, their regular day. When this happens, the trash piles up outside the dumpster, which could attract vermin. Once or twice, the landlord had to come and remove (some of) the trash himself--whatever could fit in his pick-up truck, and left the rest outside the dumpster. The other times, no one came. They are also supposed to do two weekly pick-ups on Christmas and New Year's weeks. But I have never seen them come twice. Someone mentioned to me it could have been the landlord who forgot to pay the trash bill on time. Ok, fine...but if that happened, the trash company still has an obligation to pick up the trash. The tenants should not be held hostage if the landlord does not pay in time. Trash pick-up is an essential service, for public health reasons, and cannot be discontinued for any reason. This company also does not offer recycling to commercial customers (such as my apartment complex). So, I hate to leave a bad review, but those four times or so when they have failed to pickup the trash has caused problems. I had planned to throw a lot of stuff away one week, but had to keep my trash inside for an extra week or two until there was room. I would say not to use this company, but they have a monopoly on areas they service, so you have no choice, unless you want to take your trash to the city dump yourself and pay the fees. Ugh. read more

Terrible customer service, no willingness to help the customer. We had a couple of pieces of styrofoam in the recycle bin and the driver put a sticker on our can and drove off. I had no idea you couldn't put styrofoam in the recycle bin. I would have gladly moved it so the rest of my recycling could get picked up. I went online and requested an additional pickup and was told that isn't available in my area. Of course, we don't have any other option for trash pick up so they just do whatever they want. read more

My recycle bin was not completely emptied so I called AND communicated through chat. Both told me it would be serviced the next day. Next day, NO service. Totally different story. Called and person said request was cancelled and would not be serviced until next pickup in 2 weeks. I asked why 2 people told me it would. Lady on phone said chat is a "bot" (wasn't using the "bot" chat) and the person on the phone must have been in training. State of Nevada does not allow for return service. WHAT? read more

Waste management has cause our Carson City community to look so trashy due to their non organize plan and execution of the old and new trash cans. I have called their customer service several times to pick up this old trash can that now has been on the street in front of my house now going on week 4. They either have terrible leaders who do not care or workers who do not care either way someone should be fired and the city or mayor of Carson City should start fining the company daily until they clean this up. read more

I wish we had another choice for trash service. We have called 4 times to get our new trash cans. Two of the times we were told they would be delivered prior to July 1 upon further calls I have been been placed on hold for a half hour or more and finally hung up. I have also tried the online chat option and that failed as well. read more

HERE IS A LINK TO AN APP ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MOYMSH8?cache=b1904001d38153447fd117b119f29160&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1408107669&sr=1-1#ref=mp_s_a_1_1 THATS RIGHT, I FEEL SO WRONGED AND IN DANGER I TOOK MY TIME TO CODE AN ANDROID APP ABOUT IT! IN THE TIME IVE DONE THAT I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A REPLY FROM WASTE MANAGEMENT 2 DAYS LATER! I live in a gated community where I am supposed to feel safe. Usually everything is fine. However I have an employee threaten my life. As well as vandalize my property. I have made countless reports. Yet. He still continues to pick up my trash. Today I chose not to put my trash out to avoid him amd he was in front of my house taking pictures of my car and my license plate as well as my property. I do not feel safe I have asked the company time and time again not to send him. Now he has photographed my car and its license plate and my house? Why? Why is he permitted to do this on the clock. Very obviously a violation of my privacy now as well. The route supervisor doesnt care either. What do I have to do to get someone to take this seriously? read more

Should be 0 stars!! Anyone know how to file a formal complaint about this company? There terrible and know they have the monopoly on trash service in my area and clearly feel they can treat customers however they want.. I pay my bill consistently and just want them to do there job correctly in a timely manner and not half assed. I guess that is a lot to ask for this company. FYI talking to a supervisor is just as pointless as talking to the people that answer at first, get ready to hear every excuse under the sun if you have to call.. read more

It's the day after Thanksgiving when we have, like many folks, a totally loaded trash can. We can't set can out night before due to bears. Garbage truck is due at 7am, but today shows up 20 minutes early. I heard it coming, opened garage door as truck is at my driveway. Guys saw me but took off anyway. They were early, I wasn't late, they wouldn't wait 15 seconds. This company sucks, no customer service. read more

It's a good thing they have a monopoly. If they didn't, they'd go out of business. The normal time for pick up on my street is about 3:00 pm but they did not pick up my recycle: only my trash. When I called, I was told the driver said he serviced my address. Well, he did not. However, they offered to schedule a "courtesy" pick up the next day. I put the recycle out a 7 am. When I called at 4, I was told the truck came by at 6:30 am because it was supposed to be out the night before. I was not told that the first time I called. Now they said they could schedule a "courtesy" pick up on Tuesday. UNBELIEVABLE that they would call this a "COURTESY", when they didn't do their job in the first place. read more

They are not fulfilling the new contract with the City. They are starting single stream recycling, and have offered smaller containers in two different mailings. I call to get the smaller container and am told that the smaller containers are not available for 3 or 4 months. I don't have room at my home for multiple 95 gal. containers at my home. I guess that I will have to stop recycling. There is no alternative because they have an exclusive contract with the City. read more

I am extremely impressed with the assistance I received from Detria today. Good service is always appreciated.

If there was another trash removal company I would use them .. Wm is the worse at what they do took trash can even though I paid bill sure I was behind until I got paid but now they left me with nothing when I called for some help they said they aren't gonna do anything until my next pickup day! Its your mistake how you gonna make me wait! They usually drop trash on the floor and just leave it. read more

The waste technician who picks up my weekly waste does an exceptional job, that being said I recently needed to speak with billing staff not such a great experience. Of course the staff member was professional but completely unable to resolve the issue. He only had scripted answers to questions and if the question was outside of his script he had no answer. The issue was a simple fix but because the staff member I spoke with was unable to make any decisions without consulting his superiors it was a very frustrating experience. Additionally, if you have had long term service with this company (over 15 years) I highly recommend you contact them and update your information - they still had my area code as (702) and stated that was the reason the were unable to contact me. I guess no one in the billing office was smart enough to think of trying the northern Nevada area code (775). read more

I would give this 0 stars if it were an option. The crew picking up our residential trash have now broken our 3rd can! This can is only 2 weeks old. They also break their own cans! Waste Management had to deliver a new can due to their carelessness. In less than 2 months, they have broken this new waste management can. I am sick of buying new cans because of their careless and wreckless employees. Since they have a monopoly there is no other service available and they seem to take advantage of that fact. read more

The technician who emptied our dumpster this morning went above and beyond. Our service has always been excellent and our technician is always on time and courteous. This morning when loose trash in the dumpster accidentally scattered, he picked everything up, including little scraps of paper, by hand and then secured the load before leaving. Thank you, thank you WM for providing a service that keeps our neighborhoods clean and tidy. read more

WM is the worst disposal company ever. I left my two cans and four cardboard boxes to be picked-up this morning. The cans were emptied but they left the cardboard. The recycle truck came by and didn't take the cardboard! I have had problems with them leaving all my trash behind and not giving notice of changed pick-up times. I called and the won't dispatch another truck to come out and fix their mess. I wish there was another company to pick-up trash in Carson read more

Called there customer service and was taking about my bill they told me to pay this amount on there web site and they would pick up my trash so I did and there web sit even said it was going to be picked up on the next pick up day. Will I put out the trash and it was not picked up do I called them and the person did not believe me and said did I pay on there website and I said yes I did and I have the compensation E-mail to prove it as told her that web sit said that I would get pick up so she put me on hold for 5 minuets then got back on and said that I would get pick up next week so I said that I was lied to by the last person or was it a error on your part all she would say is that they where sorry but it was not there fault. so I face book them to complain and they asked me for the service address so I did and have not gotten back to me. So now as I am concerned there company condones lieing and deception because they don't have competition. read more

I have a problem with them not picking up my trash consistently.the truck seems to fill up before they reach my house and when they return they bypass it sometimes.I use a regular trash can from home depot and it never weighs more than about 50 pounds.but these clowns seem to forget where they left off when they resume service.I have sent complaints to the company and am waiting for a response but this has happened in the past.they have a monopoly on residential service in this area so I can not change providers but it can,t be that hard to find competent trash men. read more
