I did my first load of laundry here today, Tuesday, March 19, 2019. I came around 2 PM, at it was quiet, with only one or two other customers. I like that. It did become busier as I left around 4:15.
There are three sizes of the larger-load machines:
3x - $4.50 per load
30 lb. - $5.50 per load
4x - 35 lb. - $6.00 per load
I chose the largest size (4x), and did all of my clothes together in one load, in order to save money. (If I had done the loads in California, where I go a lot, the cost would have at least a few dollars higher.) The machine took quarters, for which I was glad. Some laundromats make you buy a card, and sometimes they charge for the card itself! Or you only use the laundromat once, and have a balance left unused on the card, since they only add certain amounts to it when you purchase it. Their washer rejected a few of my quarters, but when I put them in again, they worked.
I then proceeded to dry my clothes. I put the four loads into two dryers total (so two loads per dryer), which is what they recommend on the signs. They charged $0.25 for 10 minutes, which is generous! Most laundromats only give you eight or six minutes per quarter. I found that $0.75 for 30 minutes for each dryer on hot dried my clothes.
I also found their change machine to be easy to use, and accepting of all my bills.
As I waited, I watched a Dr. Phil show they had on about a girl who was abducted. I wish they had the TV a little lower, as I had to strain my neck looking up at it. I also wish they had wifi, ans my 4G LTE signal was kind of weak at times. But at the same time, I am willing to trade that since they have super low prices, which I love!
Only a few other minor complaints, besides the above:
1. The sidewalk outside has no curb cut, so it is hard to wheel the laundry carts out to your car.
2. The laundry could have been a little cleaner, as their was debris on the floors and some water stains of dripping water on the washers. The perfectionist in me wanted to wipe the one across from me down, haha! But again, I like their low prices and understand the attendant had to man the dry cleaners next door.
And I did like that there was an attendant next door, who happily answered my questions about load sizes of the washers.
Given that three other laundromats in Carson City have closed in the past year, I am happy to have found this one. read more
