She didn't even hesitate or make the process seem complicated when she offered a unit that we were able to get into that same day. When I arrived a few hours later, exhausted and cranky and driving a 25-foot U-Haul truck, she made the check-in process feel completely painless. With her traffic control help, I was backing up the U-Haul truck in under 15 minutes! After rolling up the door to the storage unit I completely melted down with relief - it was ULTRA clean, easy to access, and the perfect size. About a week later when we realized the buyers of our home wanted to close in 9 days, I called for another unit - fully expecting to hear that nothing was available. Our good fortune hadn't run out - they had a 10x30 available the next day. The whole add-a-unit process was handled over the phone and online (we lived 45 minutes away at the time) so it was completely hassle-free. Once again, the second staff member (I'm so sorry I forgot your name!) who managed this part of the transaction was SUPER friendly and beyond helpful. The whole property is really well-kept and clean, the units were both very clean, the roll-up doors work perfectly, and we're just so grateful to have found a business with old-school, neighborly-feeling customer service. I have been amazed with how much of a quiet place it has been since it's right off fifth street and I do feel like my property is secure and safe! I love that there is a code to get into and to leave from. It's clean and like I've previously stated it's been quite quiet. I do wish it was more of a 24 hour place but it's no big deal that the hours are until 10 PM. It would be nice if it was at least midnight but again I don't mind to much! Property manager is a true professional who knows how to really manage this place! Highly recommend!

The facility is in disrepair, and security is weak at best. There are tons of working units containing hazardous chemicals and machinery, which caused a fire in one unit. After the fire, the corporation evicted many tenants without any support or allowance - all while charging them full price. Would not rent there - overpriced for what you get. Other facilities nearby ended up being cheaper and better (cleaner, better locks, and better unit condition.

What a joke. Made a reservation online, completed all documentation and their "move-in" process. I…read moreselected an outside storage unit. I head over to the facility, security code in hand. Upon arrival, code won't work. Tried it at least a dozen times So, I call the number on the sign. Voice mail says "they aren't on site but can be reached by phone." After MULTIPLE attempts, that proves to not be true. I tried calling the Fernly location. That too went to voicemail, saying "Today is September 1st and we are closed for the holiday." Today is in fact November 26. Upon calling the silver springs location, again I only get a voicemail, but they at least give office hours. Thinking I might be able to told to SOME sort of employee, I drive to the Spanish Springs location. Guess what, their office is inside the secure gate, you can't get in unless you have a security code for that location. Negative contact with any living soul. I drive BACK to the Carson location. My security code still doesn't work. I tried a simple, generic code and the gate opened right up. I drive around for a minute to locate my storage unit. Guess what? It's NOT a storage unit. Appreciate, according to Safe Storage, and only Safe Storage, an outside storage unit, is a parking spot. They have a few secure units, but I won't be dealing with this company again. They are misleading and INCOMPETENT!

NOT TRUTHFUL WITH ME - BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE…read more Unfortunately, I had rated them five stars...until I left after several months. I had been out of the country and, after a long drive home, got home from the airport at 2:00 in the morning. I called Anchor's Office Manager and said, "I know today is the last day of the month, but can you pro-rate me one day so I can come in this weekend?" He said they don't pro-rate charges, but for just one day, they wouldn't charge me if I vacated first thing in the morning. I DID...AND A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER I LEFT, THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR A FULL MONTH ANYWAY. Had I known they were going to be untruthful, I would have left the car there for the month! Instead, I paid a full month's rent for a vacant spot that they rented out. I asked the Office Manager to email his supervisor's contact information to me, which he agreed to, but never did. THIS LEFT A VERY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. This was a very bad customer experience.

My payment was sent as it always is, yet their accounting department seems unable to properly track and apply incoming checks. Being charged a fine due to their internal record-keeping failures is unacceptable -- especially when it happens repeatedly. A business that handles recurring payments should have reliable processes in place to ensure customers are not penalized for the company's own administrative shortcomings. I would caution anyone considering this facility to be very careful about how you submit payments and to keep meticulous records. Until they address their accounting practices, I cannot recommend them with confidence.

There is no climate control, and after just two months, all of my belongings were covered in dust. When it rains, the roof leaks, and the units themselves are not sealed properly, allowing small rodents to get in. The monthly price is $80, plus a mandatory insurance fee, for a small 5x5 unit -- which is incredibly overpriced considering the poor conditions. I ended up finding another storage facility for just $20/month for the same size unit, in a modern building with proper climate control. Save your money and look elsewhere.

The only troublesome thing, was within the past two months, we had gone to the locker to pickup some boxes, there was a car pulling out of the fenced in area, driving through the entry/exit fence, the car was driving right at us, blocking us from the box to to put in our code. It was the manager! Said that we need to use our code to get in and exit, which we 100% of the time. He was agitated, older man, basically, duh, you need a code to get out as well, why would we go into an area we can't get out of...as long as you stay clear of that old fart, you're fine. like I said the front desk people are great.

I was so happy to be able to use their moving truck for free because U-Haul wanted an arm and a leg to move from Reno to Carson. I liked the automatic payment option; I didn't have to worry about making my payments. When my card was stolen April called me and we updated my card before I could get a late fee. The past facilities I stored with just charged you the late fee without notification! I'm still here and the prices haven't gone up, they even gave me a discount after I moved in for having auto charge payments. I'd highly recommend storing with Carson City Self Storage; they are professional and have great prices for their units, especially with a friendly onsite resident manager.
