I hired Owens Brothers Transfer for my move from Reno, NV to Vancouver, WA on 2/24. Chris Chambers was my main point of contact for the booking. He provided a very reasonable quote and was very upfront about expectations. We had hit some unexpected snow the day of the move where any other moving company would have likely (and understandably) rescheduled, but Chris and his colleague Buck showed up nonetheless and managed to get everything in my 1b/1ba apt loaded in under 2 hours. Chris and Buck delivered my furniture to my new apartment in Vancouver, WA 2 days later (2/26) and managed to get everything unloaded in just over an hour. Overall, the move went smoothly despite the unexpected bad weather. I could not thank Chris and Buck enough for braving the snow and getting my furniture delivered on time. The actual price ended up being less than what Chris originally quoted which I was pleasantly surprised about. I am remiss in not reviewing this great company sooner. I moved several months ago and every step of the process was smooth and reassuring. Everyone I dealt with was professional, polite, and patient. Their price quote was much less than other companies I talked to. My belongings were carefully packed and stored with them for a couple of months. Delivery was on time, my furniture was placed where I wanted it, and some things were unpacked at my request. I took my time unpacking in my new home - only one thing got broken (a small honey pot) but I frankly think it was already broken. Nothing was damaged or missing. Delivery was on the hottest day of the year in Las Vegas with a malfunctioning air conditioner on that day - of course. Nonetheless, the crew remained cheerful and helpful. We didn't get the opportunity to utilize their services. I felt that they were slow to respond to a quote request. The email that I received back from them didn't even specify who they were. Since I'm really busy right now trying to schedule multiple movers for a big move it's important to me to have quick responses and for the people responding to identify themselves. I responded to their email telling me that they weren't available on the day I was requesting by asking if they were available the day before as we are slightly flexible on the loading up day, but received no response. I am all for supporting local business but I will be going with another company from out of town who responded quickly, even though they are also not available on our originally requested day either. I hope that their experiences with other customers are better but I think I will be utilizing other places in the future as well. read more

I make a point of not wasting my time on mediocre reviews. If you see a review from me it's because I had an exceptionally bad or good experience. In my case I was moving 2 hrs away and had a 3 floor house. I had just gotten a quote from someone from Craigslist that had talked me out of a pod and claimed to have trucks and all supplies. After wasting 2 hours of my time I find out that he's not insured, and having necessary trucks meant having a number I could call to rent one for them lol what a joke. I found Owens bros on yelp and made arrangements for someone to come out for an estimate. Completely different level of professionalism. I sprained my ankle the day before he showed up so had to let him walk through the house and figure things out. With the sprained ankle he said he was going to have them include a quote for finishing my packing. What came back was a quote including materials, packing and moving that was substantially less than the sheister on Craigslist. I love their quote system, they give you a price they gaurantee not to exceed. And because I hadn't secured my new place yet a huge plus was they have storage! I did get a place in time, the guys showed up on time were very careful with my things. I had a telescope with a dent on the end they thought they did it and were completely upfront and apologetic. When I told him it was already like that he was so visibly releaved I knew he felt genuinely bad. At the end of the day we finished very early and substantially under budget. We moved 4 trucks on 4 trips from Tahoe to Sonoma County. We talked to 3-4 companies before we found Owen's Brothers on yelp. The others all made us more worried and less confident about this moving experience going well. When we met Erika from Owen's Brothers, we knew immediately our problems were solved. Now that this is behind us I can say, as we expected, they did a superb job. Erika estimated accurately, gave us plenty of good advice, flexed her schedule to accommodate us, then changed it every time we fell behind or needed something different from them. They sent more workers to load the truck than she promised. She and her partner Chris are good, honest, hard-working and very experienced moving folks. You will love having them on your relocation team. Their job is hard and they do it with a great attitude and empathy for the experience of the moving family. Sure, a very few of our things were slightly scratched from this big, tough move. As you would wish, they just made it right. They would have given us credit, taken our very slightly damaged items to an expert to have them fixed at Owen's expense, anything we wanted. No resistance, only let's get this right attitude.
