I'm feeling a bit frustrated after this experience. If I had known that the minimum charge just to remove a single television stand from my house would be $132, I probably would've explored other options. While that price was technically cheaper than some of the other businesses I contacted on Yelp, I really wish it had been made clear upfront; especially since the listing mentioned a "free estimate." Coming from Las Vegas, where Republic Services (think Waste Management, but somehow less shady) gives us bulk pickup days every other week as part of our regular service; where we can just leave items on the curb and often someone will grab it before the truck even arrives, this charge felt a bit steep for what was a very quick task. Now, to be fair: Junk King did the job quickly and efficiently, which is why I'm giving three stars. They showed up on time and got it done without issue. I'm just still a little salty about the cost, so here's a heads up to others: expect a $132 minimum charge. read more

I can only speak to scheduling (or attempting to). I had an appt set up for Wednesday 3:00-5:00. They asked if I could reschedule to early in the day and unfortunately I was not able to, so they cancelled my appointment and asked for photos instead. That was fine and I understand things happen. Especially since I was also told there was availability for Friday 9:00-11:00. After sending photos, I was told it's a much bigger job than expected and they would get back to me with a quote. I do appreciate getting a response from the business and respect the effort they put into that aspect of customer service. I do want to be very clear that the only reason I left a review in the first place, my one and only review ever is because: 1. I was completely canceled on. There was no "we are going to be an hour or two late". I would have been completely fine with them coming later. I needed it done that day. I would have let them come at midnight if it ment getting my old furniture out; I had a couch being delivered then next day. 2. I asked verbatim: "So, there is absolutely no way that that you can make it out today?" The answer was NO. 3. The call and the one and only call from them that day; I will post a photo of the phone records if I have too, was 40 minutes after the arrival window had started. There was no respect for my time and there was absolutely no attitude for how can we make this work or make it up to you. I understand there are two sides the every story. What I don't like is a company that doesn't own their actions, that they are maybe under staffed or that it was a mistake. Instead, their response is acting like I didn't accept a compromise; when I was never offered one. I would have 100% used them and would have never written a review if they said on the phone, " we will be running an hour or 2 late". Instead they called 1 time 40 minutes after the window started and said; no interpretation or exaggeration; "There is no way that we will be able to make it over there today" - and that was it, no follow up or we would like to make it up to you. I was super happy with the service I received! Two very nice, professional looking gentleman arrived ON TIME, and did a great job, even sweeping my garage. The only complaint I have , is that I tried to get a guestimate over the phone. The gentleman that answered would not give me any prices. Asked me what I was getting rid of, and said they would come and look at the job (construction type trash, carpet, pad, wood, tile etc) and give me a price. If I liked the price they would take it away at that time. I asked if there was a general price for a pick up truck bed full. He stated they give no cost estimates over the phone, not even ball park figures. When the gentlemen arrived, they showed me a laminated sheet referencing pick up bed size prices. The website says they'll remove pretty much anything and everything except hazardous waste.. a lot of our junk was yard waste and landscaping debris, dirt, bricks, branches, and garbage - not the easiest clean up. Brandon and Robert shoveled, wheel barreled, back and forth and cranked out this job without ever complaining. Just all around nice guys who work hard. The scheduling was super easy. I requested an estimate, someone came out and provided the estimate (verbal and then written via email), price was fair so we decided to move forward, they were here the next day to start the job. They schedule in 2 hour windows so they did need to come back a second day. Scheduling that again was super easy, they just text when they'll be coming and if we weren't home they'd still come to complete the job as long as they had access to the site. Overall super happy with the job that was done and the price we paid. I'd definitely use junk king again specifically Robert and Brandon if they were available. read more

So pricing "599$" for the whole load, to base my price of "$450" for half truck? No, I would not use them again. The owner response is the cherry on top of the situation. After leaving a voicemail I called back an hour and left a voicemail including my availability to contact me and appropriately discuss the situation. I was met with no response back from that point forward. Taking no accountability from upper management goes to show that they'll support the inconsistencies of there service to save face publicly. A thoughtful response or any acknowledgment of the customers perspective of the situation is what typical professional businesses tend to do. Restructuring the narrative of the situation the manager wasn't even present for (but I have on security camera footage) is in such poor taste. For full transparency of the situation, let me break it down from start to finish. After requesting an estimate, the two representatives from Junk King arrived to evaluate the removal project. In opening discussion I explained that the last estimate I received (by a MANAGER who came to the property) was approximately $2000. From what I was told by multiple reps of their company was that the estimate would be valid for the next 6 months. Unfortunately, their was no record of this estimate, but a record of them being on site. After relaying this information to the two Junk King employees, they turned their back to discuss pricing which was uncomfortably secretive and discrete. So I walked to face them and they're estimate was approximately $4000+. I immediately told them that there was no possibility I would go with that estimate, which they tried to glamorize and excuse the price saying it included the cost of labor and debris load. They then called a manager and after more secretive discussion brought it down to approximately $2500. This is the crux of the issue. How does a few minutes of conversation bring down the price drastically? What's the rubric of pricing and why was there such a lack of transparency. Money isn't the large issue, if full transparency and a breakdown of pricing was explained there would be no qualms. Now on to the management response. Since they outlined that we never spoke, it's quite blatant that they took the hollow words of there employees. I bought a Groupon for Junk King, because I thought it was a pretty good deal, it basically covered the Pick-up and delivery of Junk King, I had to pay a little extra to cover all the bases, but I was OK with that, your coming to pick up my Junk and Haul it away!! Junk King contacted me the night before my scheduled pick up, and ask for an Idea of what I needed picked up, I sent a few photos of what I had, and they told me, they would be at my house between 8-10am. I got a call around 830 the next morning saying that they were on the way! They showed up, loaded all my Junk and hauled it away. Mac just came and removed a ton of moving boxes from our big move here. The boxes were only used one time and we paid a lot of cash for them so I tried to offer them for free, but no takers. We'd been here 6 weeks by now so we needed them gone... He was super professional and funny. I always treat anyone that comes to my home with dignity and respect.
