Run to lay on her table. It was a whole experience. My hair has so much body. She's so sweet too. Thank you Ashley

TLDR: 3 not great experiences with Ashley, including her recording without me knowing, her being late, and then her canceling on me unexpectedly hours before an appointment and then charging ME a cancellation fee. Longer version: I found Ashley on socials and booked a new client appointment. She had me follow a bunch of rules: come in with no product in hair, no detangling, and completely dry. She was late to the appointment and I called/texted/DMed to no avail. Eventually, she did text me and let me know that she would be there. In that first appointment, we did a treatment and a wash and go. She also walked me through different products and how to style my hair. I was new in my wash n go journey and she told me to text her when I'm buying my products and to keep her updated on my hair journey. She asked me to write a 5 star review on the spot and to give her any feedback in-person instead of in a review. She tried to convince me to book a haircut, however I wasn't prepared to pay for a curly cut on the spot, but she did convince me to go ahead and still leave a 5 star review and book another wash and go. In the second appointment, it was pretty simple. We did a wash n go, and again she tried to upsell me to book a haircut by kind of insulting me about having dry hair and then also had me write a 5 star review again on the spot. She asked about my hair journey, and I told her how I still don't enjoy doing my own hair, but that I am trying my best to follow her instructions and to use the products she recommended me. I texted her ONCE when I bought the products to make sure it was right, as she requested, and ONCE a photo of my own wash n go. I later saw an Instagram post where she posted a recording of a conversation where I mentioned a salon that I'd visited over a year ago for a curly cut. In that video, my eyes are covered because I'm in the shampoo bowl, so I did not know that I was being recorded. I messaged her telling her that I did not give her permission to record me, that the context of the caption was misleading, and asked her to take that video down. It took some back-and-forth, but eventually she did take it down. That's when I noticed some of the before and after photos which I believe to be also misleading. The before photos she calls my hair dry and makes fun of my new growth, failing to mention the fact that I showed up as requested with my hair uncombed, unconditioned, no product and a year out from a cut. My hair was hydrated in the after photo and looks defined, as it does anytime I do a moisture treatment at any of the salons I've been to. Making fun of my hair while bashing another salon I hadn't been to in a year was unnecessary. This year I was going to a wedding and planning to have my hair in an updo. I wanted to support a black salon and the last one I went to was unavailable the week of the wedding. I saw that Ashley's salon is now using a different stylist other than her. I should've listened to my gut and distanced myself from anything related to Ashley from the jump. I booked a simple Wash N Go appointment with the other stylist, figuring that this is a simple appointment and that I wouldn't have too much interaction with Ashley. My plan was to have a wash and go there to define my curls and then put my hair in an updo for the wedding. The day before my appointment, Ashley texted me re-confirming the appointment and saying she was excited to see that I booked. She asked if I've gotten a curly cut before to which I told her yes and then she asked what products this "other" stylist has me using. I'm not sure why she needs that info if I'm just getting a wash n go but before I could even respond, I got a message saying that my appointment had been canceled and I'm charged a late fee for canceling within 72 hours. I thought it was an error given that she had just reconfirmed less than 5 minutes prior. I had to go back-and-forth with the booking company to eventually get my full refund, including that late cancellation fee. She never responded to my text about why I was canceled but she sent me an email mentioning the video that she recorded without my knowledge and said that "we have our choices." She had never previously expressed any issues or concerns with me, and I thought this was very unprofessional. Looking back, this unprofessional behavior is in line with every interaction we've had. I am posting exact screenshots of my conversations with her, so you can see for yourself the way that she speaks to clients. The fact that she charges people for canceling within 72 hours yet does it herself is telling. The fact that she texts me excited about an appointment just to cancel minutes later is crazy. The fact that there are many reviews saying she retaliated against them for giving less than 5 stars and/or sharing constructive feedback is ridiculous. The fact that she recorded my audio conversation while my eyes were covered in the shampoo bowl is asine. read more

My experience with Anaiyah was lovely! She was kind, friendly, talented, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience after the appointment was quite different. I gave a 4-star rating on Fresha and was then contacted by Ashley, whom I had never met, asking why I didn't give a 5. I explained honestly that I felt the price was quite high. Ashley proceeded to berate me about how the price was more than fair and also criticized me for being late. I was actually in the building but had difficulty finding the office, which was tucked away in a maze of hallways with no one at the entrance to greet or direct me. If you ask customers for their opinions, you should be prepared to receive honest feedback--even when it isn't exactly what you hoped to hear. The comments Ashley made about my review and my opinion were unnecessary and, in my opinion, extremely unprofessional. I truly wish Anaiyah the best because she was wonderful, but unfortunately, I will not be returning due to Ashley's defensiveness and handling of the situation. I'm looking forward to my next appointment at a much more affordable location. :) read more

It was such a pleasure meeting Ashley! She was incredibly kind and helpful. My son needed a deep conditioning and curl enhancing treatment, and she delivered that and more. Ashley was so educational, sharing valuable tips to help my son continue his curly hair journey at home. If you want to do yourself and your hair a favor, go see Ashley at Wash + Go. read more

If you respect your calendar and want to work with people who respect your time and calendar, do NOT go here. I've been to Wash+Go before and had a wonderful experience, which is why I came back. But this was my first time booking with Ashley, and it was completely horrible. I scheduled an appointment during the work/school day -- not ideal, but I made it work because it was the only slot available. I rearranged meetings, childcare, and my schedule to make it happen. On the day of the appointment, Ashley finally responded to questions I had submitted at the time of booking. She answered, then gave me barely any time to reply before deciding (without confirmation) that I wanted to cancel. I was in a business lunch and didn't see the message right away. When I got out and saw what had happened, I texted back, called, and emailed -- and heard absolutely nothing. No explanation. No apology. Just total silence. This is not how you treat people's time. If you care about professionalism or want to work with people who respect your calendar -- I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. UPDATE based on response - Yes, I had 2 questions: 1) about pricing since the booking with Ashley was $100 more than I was used to (knowing that Arian was a Jr. Stylist vs. Ashley, a Sr. Stylist, makes total sense, I hadn't noticed any leveling); and 2) the other about whether we'd be able to leave with a little braid in the front, something my daughter loved last time (It was an honest / open question, not meant to ask Ashley to go out of her way or do anything she didn't feel comfortable with. That's why I asked it in the comments before the booking to see if she'd be open to it. I did not mean to throw anybody off or trigger a same day cancellation). And a quick note about "going off menu"... Arian, who is wonderful and I'm sorry she's not there, last time we saw her had said she'd show me her braiding techniques, which was agreed upon before I made the booking. It was "off menu" only in the sense that the online booking system did not have a specific braids appointment so she advised me to make a twists appointment and said it was no problem to work on some braids. I definitely did not pull a fast one on anybody. read more

Ari did a great job cleansing my hair and scalp! And as usual, she did a marvelous job on my twists!! I always love the treatment that I receive from Wash + Go! A local curly hair salon? YES PLEASE! I started coming to Wash+Go since 2019 after an extensive search for a legit curly hair stylist. Thanks to Ashley, I finally learned how to rock my naturally curly hair after years and years of flat ironing almost daily. She is always given me tips and product recommendations and always leaving me feeling good about my curls when I leave the salon. She definitely helps make curly hair styling into the simplest task with her wash and go method. If you are looking to embrace your natural curls, come check out Ashley! read more

I just started my transition journey from ironing and bleaching my hair for years to finally embracing my natural curls! I did my research on curls abs how to get them back and then started looking for a salon that knew how to cut textured hair and would be able to drop some knowledge on how to care for it; and lo and behold I find wash+go! I made my appt on the website and went in! As soon as I got there, Ashley was so welcoming! I had to go in with washed dry hair, as it dries naturally and to me my hair was a hot mess, no irons and no products in it. The top of my hair was a slight wave (2b-ish) my under layers were more of a 3b, but she was soooo sweet and immediately even before I walked into the chair, said, "oh you've got great hair" there is a curl pattern'! I was so relieved! She explained so much to me, about protein in your hair, porosity, density, how to wash it, when to wash it, how to dry it, comb it, style it. It was so much fun! Hair is it's own care routine and it's a precious part of us and now I see that. She cut into the hair once noticing my natural pattern then washed, styled it and already my hair was picking up more of a wave! The processed parts are trying their best but she said with time they will catch oN, I just need to nurture them. She cut a little more which i wanted and love love love my cut and I'm so pumped for the journey! She is so fun, mimosas, good talk, good jams, a whole vibe!! Definitely, find her and book! Her website is super self explanatory on what type of booking to do so check that out! You will not regret it! Even if you're new to this and just want to consult and get some education and a style that's an affordable investment! Hit her up! I'm so pleased! Trusting the journey And her hanss read more

I found this spot via Yelp and was able to easily book an appointment via their website. After reading all of their reviews and lurking on their IG, I felt safe to try this place out! I've only cut my hair 3x in my entire lifetime but have been searching for a salon that can help me with my curls. None of the past locations did the magic that Ashley accomplished with my hair today and am beyonddddd HAPPY! Her process was so simple and doable! She explained it all in details and took her time. Her studio and her energy is everything! I highly recommend this salon if you need help with your natural hair. Thank you again Ashley soooo much! read more

Wash+Go - Wash+Go Curly Cut Senior & Hydration Treatment - Hair Stylists Near Me - Redondo Beach, California

Ashley is my natural curly hair guru. We have been on a hair journey and I trust her wholly. My hair was literally falling out from stress at the beginning of COVID and we have come so far. She immediately go me off the product junkie road and told me what my hair needed with her infectious "you can do it, girl!" positivity. My hair is hydrated, healthy, and retaining length. Ashley knows her stuff! She also is versatile, because she understands people like to switch it up. She offers curl-friendly blowouts and silk presses for those who are not strictly curly but need someone who knows what they are doing and cares about hair health. She does other stuff besides curls, like updos, crotchet, clip-ins, ponytails, etc. so you can have some fun with your hair. I am so proud that she has ventured into a hair care line. I wish her continued success. If you have hair, go see Ashley! read more

This was my first trip to a curly girl salon. I absolutely loved my results. Ashley was so sweet and took her time with my massive hair. I have never felt so confident walking around with my natural curls. She used awesome products that left my hair soft but full and defined. If you are a curly girl, you should definitely check her out. And I didn't break the bank! She charges a more than reasonable fee for her personal attention. Some stylist make a curly girl pay just cuz she's curl and that's. Or right! She had champagne, juice (for the non drinkers) music and made me feel very at ease. And I got a free gift! Pros: Individual attention Great quality products Free parking Ease of scheduling Cons I wish I had found her sooner! read more

I was first introduced to the Devacut this summer when a friend said she was having it done. Her texture was different from mine so I didn't think it would work on me. Months later a friend told me about Wash+Go and I scheduled an appointment for my 8-year-old daughter who was in desperate need of a trim. As soon as we met Ashely I knew my daughter was in good hands. Her energy and vibe was so positive and friendly. Her private suite inside Phoenix Salon Suites was nice too. My daughter loved her hair and I left feeling confident that I could recreate the WashnGo look at home. She explained each step of the process very well and provided product recommendations that I could find at Target. Because if that experience I returned a week later for my own hair and was again happy with the result. If you have Type 4 hair I highly recommend Wash+Go read more

My appointment I booked 2 weeks ago, was cancelled the day of, 3 hrs before my appointment due to me booking a service that my hair is too "difficult" for. My account was charged $35 for a cancellation that she did on her end, thankfully it got declined because I planned on paying her in cash. I've attached pictures to prove that the treatment I got was so unprofessional being that everything that I needed to know about my hair prior to the appointment was told to me the day of. Mind you, we spoke the day before and she asked me questions about my hair that she needed to know. Now when she found out my hair was already colored she could've suggested a reschedule or a different service, but she simply waited till the morning of and cancelled my appointment and insinuated it was my fault. I really wanted to experience the services that got her such great reviews but instead I woke up to a cancellation. read more

My experience was disappointing. Booked with Ashley because she was the Sr. stylist with 22 years of experience. On the website she says wearing your hair out is all about the cut. So, I was sold. I wanted a curly cut so I could enjoy wearing my hair out. I told her I wanted to keep as much length as possible but take off what' was needed. I wanted her to give my hair shape. After the cut she washed and conditioned with steam. She left briefly and excused herself. she returned with her daughter. They both began detangling my hair with a brushes. It was was so painful. I let her know several times. the side her daughter was combing started to feel knumb. It was the worst detangling experience Ive ever experienced. since she just cut my hair it should have been much easier. I sat in her chair she preceded to put mouse in my hair in section. nothing on my roots so they were puffy. The only definition was at the very ends of my hair. After siting under the dryer my hair looked horrible. In the car I felt my roots and some of my hair was sticking and the strands were stuck together. Hours later they were still sticky. The next day I had to wash out the product she put in my hair. After styling myself, that's when I realized my hair was the same shape I had before the appointment just shorter. I spoke with Ashley about my disappoint with my visit and the end result of my hair. She took zero responsibility for anything. No apologies. She became defensive and blamed me. I suggest you find someone who really knows how to handle all types of hair. Merely having 22 years of experience doesn't make a person a qualified stylist. read more

My wavy hair is in love with Ashley and everything that she does at Wash+Go. I have been looking to have my natural curls cut to shape without sacrificing too much length because I often switch hairstyles. More importantly I was in need of someone to give my 4y.o. daughter a salon experience without the pressure to straighten her natural curls. I found all of that and more with Alita. The environment was perfect for me who has been use to having services in the privacy of my own home in order to skip the big salon chatty environment. I left with the most moist curls ever . I was still getting compliment 3 and 4 days later. Even the color was so amazing that my extra conservative mother loves my blue curls. But nothing beats the fact that my four-year-old daughter had a wonderful 1st Hair Salon experience Even though due to covid I could not stay in the salon with her. But during her appointment Alita sent me pictures and positive reports to calm this nervous mommy's nerves. The style was age appropriate and something easy enough for me to be able to keep up for the next few days. I will now be gifting my mom services And I have already referred all of my natural curly friends to this salon and stylist. read more

I've been to wash and go twice. The first time I went for a blow out and the 2nd time I just went for a wash. Ashley is super friendly and knowledgeable about natural hair care. Wash+Go was my first experience at a salon specializing in curly hair and I can't say enough good things about Ashley. It was immediately clear how experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled she is with all types of textured and curly hair and that I could trust her completely to know what to do with my hair (mostly spiral curls). One of the first things she said to me was that she saw my hair's potential. While I've always liked having natural curls, Ashley helped me really love my natural texture by showing me how to unleash that potential and get the curl definition I've always wanted. She did an awesome job with my cut and explained every step of the process including why she chose the products she used on my hair and how to replicate the wash and style steps at home. To top it off, she has a super sweet and friendly vibe and her prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Wash+Go for anyone in the South Bay looking to embrace their natural curls! read more
