For Christmas I took my mom and sister here for a head spa. The Head Spas are all the rage now. I went to a competitor in Orange County before coming here. The one I went to was a head spa, but a Chinese one. This one is Japanese and has the same features as what I have been reading about in Japan. So they start out with a scalp review, showing you how bad your scalp is. Like last time, I had a lot of buildup. I was offered more treatment for dandruff, dry scalp and didn't take the upsell for more treatment. Then I'm led into a dim room and offered a chair. They add a protective layer so I don't get wet, and cover my in a soft blanket and an eye mask. The process of washing my hair with various water and products was similar as the other head spa, but here my scalp was focused on 90%, whereas the Chinese one did a facial more than my scalp. After the head spa, I paid extra for them to dry my hair. I don't think it was worth the $45 but I wanted to pamper my mom so I splurged. They said they offer hair dryers so I guess you could DIY. 3 head spa with an added blow out came to $495. Tip was paid in cash. My mother commented that her hair felt so soft and luxurious. Miku is honestly the best lash tech I've ever encountered. I've been going to her for almost a year now and I can't imagine going to any one else. She does exactly what you ask her for and my lashes are always comfortable for weeks. I called at 12:45 pm to let them know I couldn't make the 2:30 appointment, and was told 3:30 might work but they would confirm with the technician and call me back. I never received a call, but showed up at 3:30 to find the door locked. The staff member then said she forgot to call and that the technician was sick. Whether the appointment should have been canceled earlier or not, the lack of communication and professionalism was disappointing. I made an effort to call ahead and be honest about running late, and I expected the same courtesy in return. Had a relaxing nap at my headspa appointment with Mayumi! We started off with a high definition camera analysis of my scalp that showed oiliness. Then we went to the room in the back where there are 3 chairs for the treatment. A blanket and the darkness gets you real cozy and of course I fell asleep. Had a nice massage in the shoulders and neck. After the treatment we took another look with the camera and the oils were gone. The treatment includes towel dry of your hair. I came in with high spirits and have thought for a while about leaving a review but I was disappointed with the lash lift I received here. I don't want to name names and cost anyone their clientele, but my lashes were bent the wrong way, some were permed down to my eyelid, and a lot of lashes fell out. It's been about two months now and they are still permed the wrong direction so it's hard to apply mascara. The brow thread was ok, I'm not sure why she took off part of the top of my arches, it made me look sad but thank goodness my brows grow back fast at least so they are looking a little better now two months later, still waiting for some of them to grow back. My advice is to go just about anywhere else for brow threading and lash lifts- Amazon has great lash lift kits for $20 and I plan to do that in the future rather than spend $150+ for bent lashes that fall out and sad brows. 2 months later, I am still missing part of the upper arch of my brows and have lost a lot of lashes, some of my lashes are still bent. I won't be coming back, hopefully others have a better experience here than I did. First time ever trying a head spa, and it was super relaxing! My technician was Haruka and she was so sweet and wonderful! The first thing they do is a scalp analysis to determine what type of treatment is best for you. Afterwards, you're taken to the back room to get your hair washed and massaged. I think I fell asleep. I wanted to try LED lash extensions for my long trip - so the first time I came in as a test run, and once right before my trip. I now have a bad allergic reaction to regular eyelash extension glue. While I had the slightest one day reaction to the LED glue and its lasted a really long time and is very worth it for me. I got a classic set then volume set and I've really liked how they look and even with natural shedding, its held up. I had a few lashes that were stuck together but I think thats the nature of such a quick drying product - not having down time and worrying about getting them wet for 24 hrs. Everyone is so kind and pleasant, I can appreciate how hard to find a Japanese salon and its rarer to find a place that does LED lash extensions here! read more

I have been curious about what a head spa treatment would entail and did a search and landed here. My hair loss has increased and after reading the menu I opted for the Deep Relaxation Head Spa. Made the appointment online which was easy to do and added the classic lash option. When I walked into the clean spa I was greeted by Aoi. She proceeded to take me to get a photo of my scalp. She explained the process clearly. My scalp was extremely healthy and clean. My hair loss would benefit from stimulating my scalp and clearing residue thoroughly. We went back to the spa section in a comfortable dimly lit room. Aoi again explained to me the steps. My scalp was steamed and then the magic began. What an incredibly relaxing experience. Never realized how tight my scalp was. The massage literally opened my eyes to the importance of doing this. After 60 minutes of bliss we were done. I got to dry my own hair but next time I will add a blowout. Next, she perfectly placed my lashes. I am still getting compliments on the natural effect it gives me. The glue used is high quality no tears or fumes . It was quick yet done with high quality. I love how the space and people are down to earth and caring. Aoi is the sweetest and I never felt she was upselling anything. I did purchase the hair products because I could tell the difference. It was pricey but I feel I am worth the investment. There were 3 of us and we booked in advance. Or first time to a Japanese head spa. Guess our expectation was like the ones on tictok where they pamper the heck out of you. Facials, massages, masks etc. But nope. They definitely try to upsell you to a more expensive package, but the initial scalp analysis didn't really show a need. So we opted for the basic package. They didn't have any specials going on for a monetary discount, so they gave us extra 10min massage for free. We initially asked for a 1hr service but ended up only giving us the 45 min treatment. But guess that ended up being the better choice because the chair they had us in was very uncomfortable. 2 of us ended up having elbow and shoulder pain. My arm kept becoming numb. Seems to be a typical barber chair vs those high cushioned massage chair ones we seen on the Internet. They don't dry your hair for you. They just tell you there's hair dryer on the side. They did 2x shampoo and the heat bag thing over your head and conditioned I think just once. I believe it was the owner, she seemed kind and gentle. Just wasn't expecting such a no frill, expensive hair wash for the price. I think if you go in with proper expectations, it might be ok. $100 for 45mins and I felt bad for my lady because she accidentally told me to check my scalp afterwards but it was not included in my package, the owner quickly said no they didn't pay for that. So after brushing she quickly disappeared to the back. so I tipped $15. read more

My partner's mom wanted to visit a head spa experience, and in researching I found this place close to her house with good reviews and the website's explanation of the service seemed nice. However, none of the ladies I went with enjoyed their experience. It was not what we were anticipating. The chair/sink setup is like going to a hair salon and getting your hair washed. They're uncomfortable, and overall the "massaging" and relaxation was not what we were hoping for. I can't speak to the scalp analysis because we opted out of that, but I wouldn't recommend this place if you're hoping for a headspa experience that you see on TikTok. read more

Although I have had many pleasant experiences at Fabulicious in Redondo Beach, I felt compelled to revise my initial review. There are many positives about the salon which I would like to reiterate: their cleanliness, the relaxing atmosphere, the highly skilled and friendly employees, and the quality of work are among the few. This is the reason why I was a regular customer here, returning monthly for my lash extensions. Martha was my go-to-girl because she is absolutely amazing and does high quality work. She is congenial and someone I would go to over and over again. However, there is one negative aspect that overshadows all of the positive things I said about the salon, and that is their pricing method. Rather than charging you based on the actual service you require, they charge you based on the time that has elapsed since your last visit. This to me is an unprincipled practice. I don't mind paying for a full set of extensions when I actually need them, but being charged for a full set when I actually need a fill seems rather unethical. The photos included with this revision were taken on May 2 and May 4 respectively. As you can see, I still have a majority of my extensions intact. My last visit to the salon was on April 8. This is almost a full month. My initial follow up appointment was scheduled for May 7, but I received a text message telling me that I should change my appointment to April 29 in order to take advantage of the fill pricing. I was told that if I came in on May 7, I would be charged for a full set. Clearly, that decision should have been made after the employee had an opportunity to examine my lashes and not before. Hence, I have decided not to return to Fabulicious. No one likes to be taken advantage of. read more

I went today for a Deep Relaxation Japanese Head spa for 60 minutes. They started off the appointment by using a camera to look at my scalp and determined that I needed a Head Spa/ Soothing Scalp Care instead. My scalp was red and irritated with product build up. She massaged my scalp and washed/conditioned my hair for a long time. After she used the camera to show me the difference and all of the build up was gone and the redness was a lot less. I've been getting my lash extensions from this place for the last several months. There are several ladies that work here and I've gotten my lashes done by Hiromi, Haruka, Yuri, and Miku. All of them are so sweet and skilled at their job. They follow COVID protocols and they all wear masks which makes me feel safe. :) I usually get the Classic full set which is good for a more natural everyday look. I also got the Hybrid Set once for a photoshoot which I liked because it was a little more voluminous and showed up a little better in the photos than a classic set would have. The prices are fair, maybe a little higher than what I've paid for at other salons but you get what you pay for! I always leave very pleased with my lashes and I have never had any issues. I received a gift certificate from a friend for Christmas and I finally got to use it. I'm 6 months postpartum currently and what better way to celebrate 6 months of being completely absorbed with baby and no time for myself. First Yuki checked the current condition of my scalp to see what the best treatment would be. After getting the microscopic photos of the condition of my scalp she recommended rebalancing and soothing treatment which was an upgrade from the certificate I had for scalp relaxation treatment. The process was so relaxing but also so rejuvenating as she used organic treatments and products for treating my scalp. After the treatment was done and I was able to visibly see the difference in the before and after. My scalp had inflammation (red scalp) & buildup (clogged pores) and after the treatment the inflammation went down and didn't see any more red spots and also the buildup was gone. She shared with me tips on how to even better the condition of my scalp to prevent current open pores from closing to prevent more hair loss (currently postpartum hair loss). I'm looking forward to taking better care of my scalp and coming back after 1-2 months to see if there's improvement.
