I've gotten my eyebrows tinted as well as threaded here quite a few times and always have left as happy as one could possibly be from such an establishment... each appointment was both productive, enjoyable and as high a quality experience as i could have wanted. I've been to numerous eyebrow threading places all the way from East to West LA. And even though I've given a couple of other places 4 or 5 stars, Riviera is by far the best--so like, a 5+ or an A+. It's an inconspicuously small space--front unit in a one-level blue building, a couple of buildings down from the Trader Joe's plaza. Metered street parking aplenty right outside as well as across the street (metered lot). Appointments are required. Right when you walk inside, you feel this calm, with mellow instrumental music filling the room (both times I've gone, the "Frozen" song happened to be playing); there's a handful of seemingly handmade trinket items for sale in the entrance area, as well as a couple of chairs and a small but nice and professional-looking reception desk. In the next room over are three very comfortable chairs, each station with its own vanity stand/ mirror. Everything is extremely clean and organized, with blue spray bottles of rose water, silver steel bottles for regular water, a lidded container for cotton balls... Both times, Subha did my threading. The first time I visited was with a Groupon months ago, which she easily accepted. In about 25 minutes, I got the best threading experience yet. I want to say that she uses some mysterious, magical thread that just almost doesn't hurt at all, but I'm sure it also has something to do with her actual skills and patience. Even while the phone is ringing, she continues to thread diligently and patiently, so I don't have to worry about her being distracted and accidentally removing half an eyebrow. Usually, my lip area is particularly sensitive to pain, but again, with Subha, I feel practically no pain--compared to how I feel at other places, that is. Nine times out of 10, I wince and tear up with just the anticipation of threading the upper lip, but this is the one time that I shed maybe only one or two small tears and get over it. Another thing I absolutely love is that she always takes time and care to make sure that she did a good job. She has you check, and even if you say it's all good, she double and triple checks for perfection, which nobody else I've gone to for eyebrow threading has ever done. At the end, she spritzes cold water onto a cotton ball and dabs your just-threaded areas to close your pores, and then refreshes your skin with rose water. It's really such a great experience. Price: eyebrows is $12; I got eyebrow/ lip/ chin today for $24. If you check in on Yelp, you get a 15% discount on eyebrow shaping. Waxing and facials are also available. While on the pricier side, I am happy to report that my sister and I both had great experiences getting our eyebrows threaded here. Jacolyn (I believe it was?) took the time to listen to how we liked our eyebrows groomed and had helpful suggestions on how to perfect problem areas. She also had a gentle hand and did not cause extra pain as part of the threading process. Make sure to make an appointment to be sure that someone will be there to see you! I've been getting my eyebrows threaded here every 2-3 weeks for the past couple of years. I used to go to Ziba at the Galleria in Redondo Beach, but it got too busy and the person I would go to didn't really care about my needs, she just wanted the quickest turnover. The last straw was when she shaped my eyebrows horribly and wouldn't fix it. So in my opinion, this place is so much better. Parking is metered in this plaza and there's usually always a spot open. It's a good price, especially with the Yelp check-in with 15% off. Subha is my girl and she's the best! Very thorough yet quick, and she shows she really cares about the shape and wants you to be satisfied with it. I've been to this location twice. First time I would rate it 4-5 stars. I had eyebrow waxing and waxed both arms completely. First time I made reservation for full arms and there was miscommunication. They understood "underarms" this also happen the second time, but I knew well enough to clarify. The first time they did not allot the correct time and the esthetician was stressed since she had people waiting. I suggested she paused my service and help the people waiting (Not a big deal to wait since I knew it was a misunderstanding). This particular time she used a special wax with aloe Vera which I appreciated and wasn't so harsh on my skin. Second time, the lady was very friendly, but I realized toward the end that she did not have a lot of experience waxing arms. There were several times she pulled the paper and it did not come off it only caused pain. I asked for full arm wax and she skipped the upper arm because she did not see hair. I had to point it out to her as well as other patches. When I left I had redness and scars on my arms from all the tugging. The markings on my skin lasted about 3-4 days and I still had small patches of hair scattered. Worst arm wax experience Ive ever had. As far as my eyebrows they were nice, but thin when I asked to keep the thickness of the shape. Overall I would say friendly staff, but I do not recommend one particular staff for arm waxing or eyebrow waxing for that matter. Wish I remembered her name. read more

Love it!! She leaves my eyebrows full and beautiful! Why start the thinning processes earlier than it needs to? THANK YOU! The staining is nice for special occasions, but it doesn't last two weeks, as told. It will last you, at most, one week or less. Update: My one downfall is they never ask to stamp your card, so there have been three occasions I haven't gotten a stamp and will miss out on discount opportunities. I came in here to have my eyebrows shaped and threaded about a week ago, and they still look great. I had only gotten my eyebrows threaded once before, and I really liked it. I was so happy to find this place which is also really close to my house. The salon is clean, and simple. I set an appointment with Astha, per the other Yelp reviews, and there was no wait when I arrived. Score! Astha spoke to me about my eyebrows, and their shape. She really looked at my eyes and face to give me a great shape which I love. I was really happy because she listened to me. I am totally low maintenance and do not wear makeup...in other words, I am not using an eyebrow pencil to darken my eyebrows. She listened and left me with plenty of eyebrow, so I don't look like a chola, and they are much cleaner than they were before. I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes, and I will totally be back to have my eyebrows threaded again. I will admit, it was a little painful, but totally tolerable. I had to stop a few times during the process because I always get sneezy and teary eyed when I get my eyebrows done, or even when I pluck them myself. It's embarrassing, but Astha assured me lots of people have this reaction. I did get a little scab under one of my eyebrows, but it fell off within a few days It was also not really visible because it was right under my eyebrows. This place is amazing! I came in with impossibly uneven, sparse, and already thinned out eyebrows after a bad threading experience. After waiting to try and grow them out, I finally bit the bullet and decided to get them cleaned up a bit. I made a same day appointment with Ravina (I think that's her name, sorry if I'm wrong!) and told her exactly what I wanted, and I'm blown away by the results! It was the most pain free threading experience I've ever had! She managed to even them out while telling me exactly what areas I need to let grow in, and when I fill in my brows, they're absolutely perfect! I've heard reallllly good reviews about this place so I decided to come here to get my brows threaded bc I've been trying to look for a new place to go to. The location was great, inside is very clean, and the lady who did my brows was very sweet and kind. However, she did not meet my expectations for brows. I showed her a picture of how my eyebrows looked a couple months ago (I've been growing them out to re-shape) and I wanted it similar to that, and she totally completely made them so crooked. She threaded way too much at the arch and made them SO thin- literally only a couple hairs left at the top. I was so upset at how my brows looked after this place I never went back. I was really disappointed with my experience here at Riviera Brows but maybe the other girl who works here is better, I don't know. read more

I was concerned that it would be hard to make an appointment, but I called the day of and it seemed like the afternoon was pretty available. The salon is small, but clean and nice looking, and everything seemed very professional and well-organized. I asked about eyebrow tinting, and I got some good information.... at Astha's advice, I decided not to do it. She shaped my brows and gave me some good tips for maintenance. Overall a (figuratively) painless process. Both girls are,great. They are able to reshape your eyebrows. It does take a few visits for that to hapoen. They are,so sweet.

I walked in yesterday and was lucky they can accommodate me. Subha did my eyebrows, she did very well threading my brows and shaping it well. She gave me tips on how to let them grow (coz a lady in China waxed my eyebrows super thin), so that I will have strong looking brows that will be fit for the shape of my face. I also had my brows tinted to a darker shade. I came out of the salon happier with my brows! I will definitely come back just before I go back to Asia to retouch the tint. Oh and the rosewater helps soothe the skin after threading plus it smells so nice. read more
