honestly very disappointed. I used to come here off and on and since I'm going to an event tonight I had booked an appointment for this morning. the girl was nice enough but she did not care to give me a good look. my hair looks "okay" but not nice like what you expect when you get your hair done. she gave me a blowout with curls and when she took out the curlers she said "you're all set" and didn't even brush them out just left my hair in a weird shape. I kindly asked her if she could go over the roots with a straightener to prevent frizz and to fix some of it she literally just did a little piece. the front of my hair looks super weird and what got me the most is she kept making comments about my hair and how it was taking a while to dry, no one has ever done that they always are so sweet, I don't think that was kind or necessary. read more

Terrible in person experience and terrible customer experience at the El Segundo location . My husband booked me an appointment on Sunday the day before the scheduled appt , at 6:30 pm. Appt was set for Monday at 8:15 am. At 7:50 am on day of appt, When I was driving over to Dry Bar, my husband texted me that DryBar had called him. He could not check their message as he was on a zoom meeting. I called DryBar immediately at 7:50 am and left them a message saying I was on my way and would arrive at 8:15am. I was clear on who I was, my appt time and my return phone number. I was also driving thru traffic and a distance away so that I would arrive on time. I arrive on time, and was told they didn't have enough stylists and I couldn't have my 8:15 am appt. Only a 9:00 am, which I repeatedly said wouldn't work for me due to an AM appt that I had. Thus, the reason I made the blow out appointment time at 8:15am. The attitude of Dry Bar El Segundo was ; "too bad for you, sorry you drove all this way for nothing. We tried to call you, but we didn't listen to your voicemail and we didn't call you back. Soooo,,,, Oh well. You came here for nothing. No biggie" They shouldn't allow customers to book times that aren't available, and then ignore their calls when customers return theirs immediately. Calling 30 minutes before a scheduled appointment to cancel is so unprofessional. Will never be back. read more

I went here the other day and I can say that I am very disappointed in my results. Dry bar is such a hit or miss. I got my hair done by someone new. As someone with curly hair it's hard for me find someone who even knows how to do my hair. She didn't really wash the middle of my hair, had to tell her twice to lower the heat when blow drying, she stopped in the middle and brought someone else to teach her how to blow dry my hair, sped through flat ironing. Still feel like she didn't do it all the way when she was done flat iron she just kept apologizing which was making it worse because I felt like my hair could've been way better. And the only reason I'm giving you a two star and not one is because the girl at the front was understanding and got someone else to go over my hair, which was nice. She also gave me a free add-on for the next service, but I'm still not sure if I will be back to this establishment. read more

I'm writing this as I wait for my appointment again...I don't know why I keep giving this place a chance. In the past week, two appointments have been pushed out -- one by 1/2 hour and the other by 15 minutes. They don't even give you 1/2 hr notice. I have a broken foot, so getting anywhere by a specific time is an ordeal. Obviously with less than 1/2 hr notice, I was already on my way. Another appointment during the week, the stylist was really rude. She was putting shampoo in and my hair wasn't completely wet yet. I mentioned it, and she left me at the bowl and had another person take over my service. Done. read more

This location used to be my go to salon until May of 2024 when they changed owners. I had scheduled an appointment 6 months ahead for a wedding. they cancelled a week before and i could not find another appointment on such short notice. Then a few months later, i had another appointment and they changed the time and notified me over email. No phone call to ask if I can be there 1.5 hours earlier. When I arrived the manager was rude and said I missed my appointment time and that I was emailed about the new earlier time (which I could have not taken because of a conflict). When I found out they had emailed me 4 days before and didn't bother to call me and make sure I had seen the email, the manager was very rude and non apologetic. Then she charged me a "no-show" fee. I had been going to this location for 8 years. Another lady that was sitting there and waiting told me quietly that they keep cancelling her appointment too since there is a new manager there. I switched to the Torrance location and their service is fabulous. Shame on Drybar for not enforcing consistency when a location changes ownership. The client should not be affected by transitions. read more

Really disappointing experience. I used to come here off and on but haven't been in a while and thought how fun to come with my friend before my holiday party. We were taken 10 minutes late (it's fine, it happens). My friend went back first and then me a few minutes after. I had a 2 minute shampoo, and then I said I wanted it blown out straight. Usually my hair is so nice and shiney and smells good when I leave. The lady dried my hair in 10 min and was like ok, you're done and she left. I was like ok? She had been fighting with another stylist while shampooing my hair. I didn't say anything because I was like well I guess that's how it is. But I left and my hair wasn't dry because it went back wavy. And I went home to wash and do my hair myself because it looks awful. I can't believe I paid what I did for a 15 min appointment. I go to Drybar almost every week and usually at El Segundo. The front desk personnel are always very nice and helpful and the place is clean and I usually have Giselle for my stylist. She is extremely nice and does my hair just how I like it every time. I would recommend this store to anyone in the area. read more

I cannot believe it! I usually ask for an expert in African American hair, well I didn't this time. Why do I keep going back? Why do I still leave a tip? On 6/23/2025 I experienced a service worst than my 01/24 experience. The hair technician DID not know textured hair. Today two days later my head is still sore on one side. The hair technician tried to pull the flat iron instead of gliding and curling. I thought she was going to pull my hair out it hurt so bad. I showed her how to gently glide and curl. My hair looked ok when I left at 6p but by the time I got home at 8p it was not curled and starting to frizz. SO, I had to flat iron and curl my hair myself and my hair looks better than they would have done. Again I am disappointed and paid and tipped for this disappointment. I still believe Don't advertise that your store is for everyone when you truly are NOT. The concept is great but the execution is failing. read more

She didn't even try to put effort into my hair just rushed like she was late for something, mind you I was the only customer in the salon. She didn't even try not even fully dry my hair. My God, Fabian was FABULOUS! I am in town helping a relative recover from surgery. I needed a little sanity break and a fresh blowout. Fabian gave me the BEST scalp massage I've ever had. He knew exactly how to work with my hair, and I left with big, beautiful, bouncy waves. This is easily one of the best blowouts I've ever received. Poorly managed and understaffed. Drybar member and this month alone have had two appointments cancel at the El Segundo location. First one, at least they called an hour before it started. Second one, showed up and after waiting 15 minutes learned they had no stylists to help and would need to wait close to an hour. Both appointments were booked ahead of time and received confirmation emails. If you manage for them to see you, great stylists. read more

They never pick up the phone or return calls. Impossible to schedule appointments online in advance. Sometimes you can get lucky the day of by checking online for cancellations. Not sure why this location has so many issues. Whenever I go to DryBar anywhere outside of LA I never had problems. Vegas Dry Bar locations are so easy to schedule and they pick up their phones. Styles are hit or miss depending on who you have. I hate leaving a bad review like this bc I love the idea of having a business that just does blow-outs...but dang. We had a 1 p.m. appointment but weren't seen until almost 2 p.m., with no call or update. Staff were dismissive at first, and the service felt rushed. The wash wasn't done properly, and water even went into my ear, which was very uncomfortable. There was a clear lack of care in the service provided. For a place recommended by a friend, the lack of professionalism was disappointing. I would not return, and management should do more to respect their clients' time. I understand every salon has busy days, but that pressure in turn leads staff to rush through services, creating an underwhelming experience for clients. read more

Been a loyal Barfly member with this location for many years and use them all over the world regularly.., but lately new management in El Segundo has reached a new level of unprofessionalism & tactless customer service that I've not seen anywhere else. They regularly ask customers to wait 15-20 mins for service, but if you are FIVE minutes late they cancel your appointment or insist you can have a dry style only. The millennial front desk attendants feel quite empowered to belittle you over this local and unilateral policy. There are so many good places to get a blowout- find any other one but this one! read more

Speaking from personal experience I normally love this place but this time around I was left in the lurch my son's graduation is in the morning and I made an appointment a month ago for this for them to call a half hour before the appointment to tell me they don't have a stylist. So I'm SOL I get things happen but with the graduation at 8:45 in the morning their only solution was to send me to the other drybar in Torrance that messed up my hair last time. So my take away from this is have a backup plan if you have an important event you are going to and wanna have your hair blown out. read more

Blatant disrespect towards women of color -- avoid this place. I visited this Drybar location for a standard blowout on July 5th. The stylist did a great job with my hair and the service took about 90 minutes (per usual). At the time that I was rung up, the person at the front desk insisted on charging me for an extended blowout which was a surprise to me. I have been to this location several times in the past and have never been charged by length of time for service. The manager, Julie, then proceeded to humiliate me by insisting that I had received an email that explained this new pricing model. As if one of hundreds of spam emails that I receive from Drybar is somehow legally binding...for the record I never received this email and have photos to prove it. I unfortunately was then forced to explain in the open studio in front of other patrons that I am Black, I have textured hair, and it would never be possible for me to get a blowout in the time allotted for the standard service. Had I known at the outset that I would be charged for "extra time" I would not have chosen to a schedule a blow out here. From a broader perspective, this practice in and of itself is racist, and obviously unfairly targets people of color whether that was the intention of this policy or not. In an effort to retain customers, waiving the fee one time might've been seen as a courtesy, but that was not a priority for the staff at this salon until several minutes of opposition and belittling had passed. Needless to say I will not be returning to this or any other Drybar location in the future. I strongly recommend that other women of color stay away from this establishment and go somewhere where they will feel seen, cared for, and respected. read more

My wife has been a loyal Drybar member for about 15 years, but her recent experience was awful. She was unexpectedly charged extra and couldn't use her credits. The front desk staff was rude, even threatening to blacklist her, and they set a 45-minute timer on her appointment. After all that, she left with frizzy hair and spent more time negotiating than actually getting her hair done. She walked out in tears, extremely hurt and offended. We will never return to this location again. read more

By far the best Drybar experiences I've had have been at this location! Friendly staff, appts are on time, blowouts are fire. Juan at the front desk was amazing. Friendly, helpful, answers the phone (very rare in my experience with Drybar), checks in with the stylists and helps them out, does his best to accommodate customers. 5/5 stars. Cynthia gave me a killer blowout. She was quick but super detailed, friendly, and professional. Sakura was also incredible. These girls know what they're doing!! Great Drybar spot! Love this place! I'm a member and love coming in every few weeks to get my hair washed and styled!

Showed up today for my 10:45am appt at 10:51. Was turned away saying they have a "5 minute late policy and then they cancel you" even though EVERY time I go here they leave me sitting on the bench for at least 10 to 20 minutes before the Stylist even comes out of the back break room. I then pointed out that the sign on the counter says a 10 minute grace period and she said "well this is Friday, and that is Monday through Thursday because we are busier on Fridays". I asked if they could make an exception and she said they would not. The worst part THEY CHARGED ME ANYWAY!!!!!! honestly, in my opinion feels like theft. I'm never going here again. You shouldn't either. There's an Ulta in the exact same plaza where the blowdry is only $49 (instead of $64 at Drybar), and on top of that you get Ulta points so it's really more like $45. And they don't act like a-holes. read more

This used to be an incredible business but now it is so corporate that it had no customer care. Stylists leave and turnover is high because they are underpaid and overworked and Amber, the new area manager is rude and has enforced a new policy to allow Dry Bar to run late on all their appointments but if a client is more than 5 minutes late your appointment will be cancelled and you will be charged a no-show fee. This business is often empty with so few stylists wanting to work that the vibrant theme of the founder is over. read more

Asked to charge me to reschedule - had to really ask about why and finally agreed to not charge me and take me at 6.30pm. it's 6.50 pm and no signs of a stylist yet. I'm being told I need to wait 20 min before a stylist can start on me.. why are you continuously setting appointments that you can not accommodate!!! I've been a loyal and long standing customer of dry bar - today I walked in at 5:01pm and sat at the front for 5 minutes until someone came to help me. There was one other customer in there getting a blow out and a stylist. I figured she was finishing her hair then was going to help me. Someone else came to the front to tell me they had a 5 minute grace period and my period was over. I told her as nice as possible that I had been sitting at the front for quite a few minutes and she argued with me that I had not. I am so disappointed as this service is supposed to make our lives easier. Now looking at other reviews, it looks like people have faced similar experiences recently. read more

This was my first time, I wanted some curls with just a few strands Bobby pinned back, not even enough to be "half up" - the options when booking were full blowout, a dry style (30 min), or a full updo style (75 min). I chose the dry style. When I got there they had me wait a little bit. No biggie, but they also seemed very rushed. I ended up in the chair about 20 min and she said they don't do "half up" which seems odd as it's the most common hairstyle. But ok I said all down was fine. Then she said well actually since it's only a little bit I can do it no problem. So I said ok great! But then when I was emailed the receipt I learned that because I had a few hair pieces pulled back they charged me for a full updo!! I also wasn't able to choose my own tip, the lady who styled my hair asked me how much before I was charged, so I verbally told her a percentage for her to punch in, Which I didn't even see on the receipt so not sure what happened there.
