Rachel is absolutely amazing at what she does, and on top of that, she's a genuinely awesome person. She performed some heroic color correcting on me after I accidentally turned my hair bright orange! I am post chemo and was trying to blend all the white in my hair with my natural dark blonde, and boy did I miss the mark. I was really really sad about it, but Rachel helped me fix it as best as possible and as safely as possible. Now I'm not depressed when I see my reflection! lol. She is very welcoming, empathetic, knowledgeable, patient, and talented. I really enjoyed my appointment with her and highly recommend her. Her studio is really cool and the decor is really fun and just a good vibe. I will definitely be a return customer in the future! Ten out of ten!!! read more

I've been going to Rachel since I was 15, and now at 21, I still wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. She's taken me from vivid colors to blonde, given me the best haircuts I've ever had, and always exceeds my expectations. Rachel is incredibly talented with both color and cuts, and she's one of the kindest, most genuine people I've met. No matter what I want done, I know I'm in good hands. Found my new favorite hairstylist that matches my vibe! I have overgrown natural hair and she fixed it in the healthy way possible without damaging my hair. I got my fantasy hair back, fresh and revived. I went for a consultation first to see how to better fix my hair. She's transparent on the process, gave me tips on how to take care of my hair. I love our conversations, she was nice to accommodate my hectic schedule as well. I highly recommend her! I will be coming back for another appointment soon! read more

I've been to 3 different hair colorists since moving to LA and Rachel is by far my favorite! Not only do I feel looking like a million bucks after leaving her chair, but she's also one of the most genuine gals I've met since moving out here. I always leave inspired after our conversations! If you're looking for someone who is an expert color genius while also enjoying non-fussy real talk, look no further! Her pricing is also very reasonable compared to most! Lastly, don't be put off by the older building - her room is filled with good and fun vibez. And snacks for the long sessions! Yay snacks! Thanks, Rachel! :) PS: photos are of a fiery color melt I did with her last year and of the most recent new copper color melt I just got! read more

Atomix Salon is by far a 10/10 in every way-from one of the best hair stylists you'll ever meet to the amazing vibes that will make your experience both fun and enjoyable! Whatever your requests and wishes may be, Rachel will be sure to deliver with an amazing cut and beautiful, saturated colors. After getting in contact with Rachel, I sent her reference pictures of the look I was going for. My hair is naturally a dark, wavy brown and I wanted to experiment with some caramel highlights. When I arrived at the salon, she got started on lightening my hair for highlights with a round of bleach, proceeded with the color, and voila-my hair was highlighted a beautifully vibrant copper just in time for Spooky season! I appreciate all the time Rachel took in doing my hair, as the overall process was no small feat and took at least a couple hours. In the end it was worth it and I couldn't be happier! When my hair was done a few weeks ago, it was initially more red/auburn than I expected it to be, but Rachel informed me that after a couple washes it would lighten into the coppery/caramel highlights I now have today. Rachel is also very informative to any inquiries and she offered me advice on how to maintain the color of my hair with the right products and hair care routine. I 100% recommend her to anybody looking for a good and trusty worthy hairstylist-she's the best! read more

Let me just start by saying Rachel is a freaking godsend! I've spent years looking for someone who knows how to cut curly hair, and not only does Rachel give an amazing cut every time, her services don't break the bank! Like what?! Even better than her cuts (which is saying something) are her fashion colors. The things that girl can do with hair dye, unbelievable! Every time I see her I walk out with a new favorite color and a "I run this sh*t" attitude. Do yourself a favor and get in Rachel's chair! read more

I called Rachel in a panic because a precious hair salon had lost my wedding reservation a week before my wedding. Lucky for me, Rachel happened to have a last minute cancellation as well, and was available to do my hair, as well as my mom and 6 bridesmaids. Rachel was awesome, she did a beautiful job on each person! Everyone looked incredible for my special day. Most importantly she, was so kind, reliable, and patient! Huge fan, I would definitely recommend to her! read more

How?? Have I not left a review?? I think I've been going to Rachel now... three years? It's always difficult to find a stylist who would cut my hair as SHORT as I want it and make it look good. Rachel has always nailed everything I wanted, and there's something about the silhouette of the cuts she's done on me that's amazing, AND grows out really well! (I'm very familiar with the dreaded grown out mom-bob lol) I recently started leaving my hair to her for cool colors and it's one of the best decisions ever. I've also recommended friends who have curly hair and I personally have very stereotypical dark coarse asian hair and Rachel can handle it all. If you're particularly looking for someone masterful at short pixie and bob cuts who can do real cool things with a clipper, come here! read more

By far the best color I have had done in my life! She knows what she's doing and takes her time. She is honest and upfront about what she thinks cost will be and sticks to it. Great hair cuts too. She also cuts my kids hair and is patient, kind, and makes it fun for the kiddos. My girls are already asking when they can come back and their last cut was a week ago! She did my son's first cut last week as well and handled my squirmy 1 1/2 year old no problem and gave him a great style. You won't find a better stylist anywhere! I've had my hair done at some of the most elite places around, and I can honestly say that no one beats Rachel! read more

I found Atomix Salon here on yelp and based on the good reviews (and happy looking customers!) decided to make an appointment. I needed my hair done for an event and brought in a picture of the idea I had in mind. After I arrived I showed Rachel a pic of my dress and head piece and she recommended a super cute up-do instead. I trusted her and she did her magic. I love the way it turned out! She's super funny and talkative and made the time go by so fast! I will definitely recommend her for special event up-dos :) read more

Long overdue review, since my appointment was on 9/21/21- and my hair still looks great! Rachel is truly a gem. She takes her time getting to know you and your hair, and listens to what you want done and gives you honest feedback. You genuinely feel like her attention is 100% on you and no one else when you're in her care. I have hair that I perceived to be very difficult to work on, and she took her time to explain what the plan was to achieve what I wanted with minimal damage to my hair. She was open about what is realistically achievable without compromising the health of my hair, all without being dismissive or condescending. The resulting color was even more beautiful and vivid than I had hoped and to top it off she gave me a gorgeous cut too. Weeks after my appointment , I reached out with some follow-up questions about how to maintain my hair until I can make another appointment, which I wouldn't be able to do for some time due to an upcoming trip, and she got back to me with great tips for caring for my hair at home. I mean, who does that? She could've easily dismissed me and just told me "make another appointment and we'll discuss it then" as it would've been more profitable, but she was happy to provide the information so that I can look my best until I get back in the chair-- which I am very much looking forward to! read more

Rachel really knows her stuff and loves a challenge. She's also great at working with kids. From cuts to funky colors I highly recommend.

Rachel is serious a master of her craft! After moving out to the South Bay two years ago, I'd still drive an hour to go back to my hair stylist. Which I loved how she cut my hair. She moved across country and had no where to go! I found this place and instantly felt confidently that I was in good hands. I never thought I would find someone better or as good as my old stylist. Rachel really out did herself and I really appreciate her. I go in for a cut and she trims my beard and I always leave feeling like a million bucks! Rachel is doing big things and always finding way to maximize her business to help all walks of life with their hair needs! Keep it up! read more

I can not stress enough about how much I love Rachel! She is an amazing hair dresser. Very knowledgeable. Totally puts up with all my weird "what are you doing to my hair"questions. I never leave her saloon unhappy. She is just a peach! I recommend her for everything! Especially all those funky colors the kids are doing these days. Just take a look at Rachel's hair and you know she knows what shes doing! She is amazing! read more

I am so impressed by how Rachel fixed my hair! It was so damaged from months of bleaching. She took her time and explained what she thought would be best to get my hair healthy again. Rachel is truly a great find. I first found her at a barber shop where she fixed a bad hair cut of mine and gave me ideas about splashing bright red into my hair. She works really well with color and certainly knows her stuff. I trust her judgment and know that I will never leave unhappy. (I even drag my boyfriend there for hair cuts because I know she's also good with curly cuts.) read more

I love Rachel - she always does such a good job. I take my squirmy 6 year old son to her (she used to be a nanny so kids love her. They talk video games and she gives him the best Elvis haircut. She does a wonderful job on my hair. I have also sent my mom and my aunt to her and they both rave about her. The shop is nice and clean, has a cool mural, very cool. It's always easy to set an appointment. Nothing but happiness from me and my family. read more

Nadia, has been my stylist for over a year at this point. I used to be one of those guys that never paid any attention to what was going on upstairs on top of my head. After receiving a life changing cut from Nadia, I was sold. I'm well aware that my last statement is bold, but it is true. I fell head over heels with the experience and have had the best cut ever since. I urge you to reach out to Nadia and schedule your next cut, I assure you, that you will have a similar experience. read more

My 12 year old tried to dye her own hair and it turned green. They did a great job fixing it. Great blue coloring.

Nadia has been cutting my hair for over two years, and since the first cut no one has ever touched my hair again. I didn't really care about it before my experience with Nadia, but now it's a must. I know guys are skeptical about getting their hair cut by a girl (as I was at first) and that you can have the corner spot do it, but when you walk out they don't even know your name. Nadia creates not only a super sick Haircut, but a family welcoming as well. I promise you she'll change your life, in just one cut. Book your appointment and be forever changed. read more

We would follow Rachel anywhere! Rachel's hair cutting skills with cutting men, women and children far surpass any other place we have been to. Since day 1, 4 1/2 years ago Rachels has been coloring my hair (shhhhh!) and I love it. She gives great suggestions and knows what would look good. My husband will only let Rachel cut his hair. No more barbers for him. A loyal customer for years too. My daughter can't wait to see Rachel when we go she is always friendly. She is very professional, knowledgable and always goes the extra mile to please her clients. She is very accomodating and flexible with availability and that can be hard to find. If you are thinking about getting your hair cut, colored or styled for a special occasion (she is awesome at styling too!!) We HIGHLY recommend Rachel at The Hair Practice in Torrance. LOVE LOVE LOVE Rachel! When I first moved to California 3 years ago, I had a hard time finding someone who did my hair just right...took me about 8 different tries until I started going to Rachel from a reco from my then fiancé (she cuts his hair which is why I just assumed she was a barber) and now she's my forever hair stylist! She even did everyone's hair for our wedding in Fall of '13...both men & women! She's the total package-she cuts men's & women's hair, can style for special occasions, does a great color job and most of all-she's just a RAD chick who is so down to earth and easy to talk to!
