We came in on New Year's Eve and the restaurant was empty with the exception of one other family. We asked for a booth and they said no and sat us at a tiny table for 2 even though the entire restaurant was open. Nobody came in the entire time we were there but they would not seat us somewhere more comfortable. The hostesses were unfriendly. The server was nice and the Thai food was just ok. I've ordered from here a few times ans the food was really good. I get the same thing. Pad See EEW with extra tofu and broccoli. This time is a disappointment. It's a lot less flavorful and has a slightly plasticity taste . Not at all what I was hoping for. Maybe there is a new chef or something but not sure I'll want to order again for a while. Enjoyed the food very much and our waitress was lovely but I was a little put off that they actually charged more money for each entree then the menu listed and they also have an extra fee for using a credit card. So in the end the dinner ended up costing $8 more. That's not the end of the world but I wish they'd be up front and have the price on the menu match the price in the computer read more

I have been here a few times already, brought guests a few times too. I am not a Thai food aficionado, really, only because I don't like spicy foods. But I must say, I ordered the Pad Thai, and a number of other dishes, including Sushi and everything was wonderful and fresh. Not Spicy at all. One of my guests had the curry and loved it. Sushi was very fresh. The only thing I did not like is there is an older Asian lady server who struggles to have a good attitude. You can visibly see she wants to be short and do everything her way. I ignored it the couple of times we had her. On the flip side, there is a fabulous Asian server we had, sorry I didn't get his name, heavy accent. We adored him the few times he took care of us. I really wanted to like this place, I really did. Their decor is amazing, the space is one of the nicest looking in town, unfortunately serving mediocre fare in a nice setting does not a good restaurant make. The sticky rice was the best part of the meal, one of the best ones I've had in fact. I also liked how big the Thai iced teas were, they're often too small at some places and you end up ordering 2... unfortunately they were wayyy to sweet to even finish half, and didn't have enough coconut milk in them - if that's what it was. We sat at the bar for dinner, which was great, except that we saw one of the bartenders open a diner-style coffee creamer and pour it on top of a Thai iced tea she was serving to someone else. I guess it's not fresh. The spring rolls sounded delicious, but are 3 for $8, and taste no different from the frozen ones you'd get at a supermarket. The red curry 3-star "Call A Doctor" spice level is not very spicy at all, I ordered it for a nice sinus-cleaning heat, but was disappointed. I spoke with a friend who recommended I come here, he said he heard the owner say that they arbitrarily decide who "can handle" the spice, and only give it to those they think worthy. How about just giving me what I'd ordered? So why 2 stars instead of 3? This establishment seems to think that if you serve people mediocre food in fancy bowls in a hip atmosphere, you can charge prices higher than Manhattan - while still being out in the woods. Edison bulbs don't make your food taste better - skip it, there's a better Thai restaurant in Hamburg, 15mins away. read more

If you are a Thai food purist,don't even bother with this place.Standard Americanized Thai food is the norm here. It's a shame when the menu is dumbed down,when most patrons would prefer,and pay more for an authentic Thai experience. The papaya salad had alot of shredded papaya,but the dressing was overly sweet.My shrimp drunken noodle was good but nothing special. They had a special if you paid cash,they gave you a 10% discount. Not sure if that's a bad sign or not.Prices were expensive for the quality of the food,but the portions were pretty large. I will start by saying this. I am a chef by profession. I have worked in restaurants and commercial kitchens for over 20 years and have a culinary arts degree. I have been trained in Servsafe and proper sanitation and food preparation. I do work in a restaurant in town that is not considered competition for Warwick Thai as it is a completely different kind of food. I have been to this location probably about 5 times since they opened last year. The first time I ordered take out. It was a complete disappointment as the food was completely flavorless. However it was in their first couple weeks of operation so I decided to give it a go again. After several pleasurable experiences, I came away feeling as though I had a good read on the place as a restaurant. That was until last night. My wife, my sister and I had decided to visit for dinner last night. Judging from the complete lack of parking we had assumed the place was very busy but when we went it it was only half full. Still the hostess acted as if we needed a reservation to be there before seating us. Our waitress was very helpful and the service overall was was fine. However, for some reason they were playing with the lights throughout the entire meal. Not sure why and our server didnt really quite have an explanation for it either but they would go from very dim to very bright the whole tine during dinner. We ordered a sampler platter for an appetizer which was very good. Also had a soup which was flavorful, though it had huge chunks of tomato and shrimp in it which could've been cut down some. For dinner I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and scallops. I know scallops are always a risk but when done right, a risk worth taking. Well, first bite in was a completely raw in the center scallop. So cold in its center it lead me to believe they may be frozen scallops. I asked the server to take it back and have them heated so my food was actually cooked. He returned less than 5 minutes later with a plate of scorching hot noodles. Surely this was either tossed in a searing hot pan for a minute or more likely was microwaved. Either way, it wasn't bad but the damage had already been done. I woke up this morning with terrible intestinal distress. My wife as well. Less than pleasing experience. Not exactly the cheapest place in town to eat. I would expect more thought and care to be placed in preparation of highly dangerous foods like scallops. Poor execution on foods like that can lead to illness and even death. I handled mine with time and trips to the bathroom so far today. The next person may need a trip to the ER. Hopefully this won't happen to anyone else anytime soon. read more

There's nothing like good Thai food, and that was my experience today--nothing like good Thai food. Tom Ka Kai soup with chopped fresh tomato and scallions? Atrocious. The tomatoes added nothing except bitterness and acid, and the sweetness of the coconut milk was lost. I found one piece of lemongrass, but there was no evidence of its flavor in the broth, which was too spicy and salty. The chicken was tough and chewy. Pad bai Gra Pow with chicken was even worse. Seriously, except for the Thai basil, I would swear that no ingredients contained therein could be found in an Asian market. String beans? Seriously? Thick, gloppy sauce? Great new Thai restaurant with bar in Warwick. We've been going to the owner's original location (Khun Thon Thai in West Milford) for a while and always had great meals. We went in the second night of their soft opening, and really enjoyed it. The place is beautifully decorated and has a nice bar, although it's a little hidden. Very good traditional Thai menu with lots of pad and curry dishes. Drink menu was still limited but will expand. Staff was great and Nick came around to say Hi to everyone. The service was fine as I sat at the bar both nights (even though there were tables available). The pricing was higher than its other location ($16 for noodles with Shrimp and Scallops in WM vs $18 in Warwick). Went there two nights in a row. Major fan of Thai cuisine, and had already visited their West Milford (Khun Thon) location once before and enjoyed it. The Khun Thon Thai wings were my personal favorite, a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, I just about licked the plate clean. The Chicken Satay was also very tasty with more subtle flavors. The peanut sauce was staggeringly good. As far as entrees go, night 1 I ordered their Drunken Noodles with Shrimp. The noodles were overdone (mushy - there's a fine line between firm and mushy rice noodles), but the heat (I ordered 3 star) and overall flavor was outstanding. The shrimp and vegetables were cooked perfectly. The owner mentioned they don't always give a true 3-star heat if they aren't familiar with the customer, but the level was exceptional by my absurdly high tolerances. My entree the second night was their Green Curry with Beef. Very tasty, a decent (1 star) amount of heat, but the beef was overdone and very chewy. The heat was offset by the coconut milk, and texture wise it almost came off more like a soup (maybe that's how it is supposed to be?). Not a fan of this dish but it was as advertised. They're a little rough around the edges and I'm not sure the price markup vs their other location is warranted. I won't give the more costly entrees a shot until their sub-$20 options are up to snuff. Definitely try the wings though, they're worth it. read more

Waiting to see if it improves. Warwick is so in need of a good place that isn't burgers or Italian. We are ready for good Thai. Right now (the first week it opended)it is ok Thai. The peanut sauces & dressings are very sweet, the Pad Thai was a bit on the mushy. bar is not open yet, but they are ok with BYOB for now. Staff was friendly, atmosphere is nice. Tables are a little large but that worked out since the platters are big and it makes for easy sharing. We'll try it again in a couple weeks - fingers crossed that I'll find a dish I like. Update: we tried again for lunch. The appetizers seem to be the best thing. But for the most part not very good. Standard Thai dishes fall flat. It seems like a fun place but not the food. read more

We went here in the first month they opened (by chance). The service was very very nice. Even though there were only one or two servers for the whole inside area they rocked it!!!! The ambiance is great! They finished the back outdoor area by now. I bet it is busy on weekends, because it is such a nice place and they have a very modern lounge feel bar area too. We are vegetarians, and that means no fish, fish sauce or shrimp/shrimp sauce. So we ordered tofu. The tofu was so dry (and not in a good way). The food was too salty too. A month or so later (ie recently) we stopped to get some food to go since we love Thai food and didn't have a time to dine out. I was so disappointed to find that the tofu situation and seasoning situations did not improve. We really love Thai and really wish that someone might adjust these things. Even though I wasn't even interested to eat this a second time, my partner was desperate for Thai. That said, I am pretty sure we will be eating here agin since it is the only Thai place we know of in the area.... Even the pad Thai was disappointing though... :( read more
