We have always come here because the food has consistently been delicious, generous in portion size, and a great value. In the past, our takeout orders came in larger round containers with plenty left over to enjoy the next day. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time. The portions have noticeably shrunk. As you can see in the photo, the container holding the leftover chicken wings is tiny--only two wings fit inside--and the drunken noodles were packed in an equally small container. The portion was significantly less than what we've always received. It's disappointing to see a restaurant we have enjoyed for years reduce portion sizes while charging the same prices. If costs have increased, we'd rather see a slight price increase than feel like portions are being cut to save money. We hope this was a one-time issue because we've always enjoyed your food, but this experience was very disappointing. read more

Ended up Cravin Thai on Father's Day because my dad had read somewhere that it is one of the best restaurants in New Jersey. We made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Apparently, this old building on Main Street used to house a bank. The interior has a bar and a good amount of exposed brick. There aren't that many tables either. Most of the waitstaff was notably, not Thai, or even Asian. But they took our orders shortly after we received the menu. We ordered the appetizer sampler, massaman curry, pineapple fried rice, spaghetti basil, and drunken noodles. The food took long to get out. Appetizers came out about half an hour after we ordered and the entrees took nearly an hour. But the food was surprisingly good. Pineapple fried rice wasn't too sweet, and the massaman curry had a slightly tangy spice balanced by the coconut milk. My dad and I had ordered the drunken noodles and spaghetti basil extra spicy. I haven't seen the spaghetti basil at other Thai restaurants. It was similar to the drunken noodles, but the sauce was had more sweetness. Both were spicy, but I preferred the spicier and less sweet drunken noodles. Fortunately, my dad prefered the sweeter, less spicy spaghetti basil, so we just traded dishes. Attempted to dine last Saturday evening at Cravin Tai a local restaurant we occasionally visit. Arrived at 6:45 which was our reservation time and was greeted promptly and escorted to our table for two. After a wait a server arrived asking if we would like a beverage and were we ready to place a dinner order. We ordered drinks, appetizers and main course as we had a long wait for server to arrive. Now the wait begins.... The ordered beverages arrived after a long wait and several minutes later the appetizer. The main course was nowhere in sight. We were told both the bar and kitchen were slammed after trying to determine status. The servers and owner appeared to be mostly interested in chatting with friends vs assuring all customers were cared for. At 7:45 we walked to the cashier and requested a bill for the items we had received. Next step was to obtain dinner at another eatery whereby we were served a complete meal including beverages, salad and main course of grilled tuna within 30 minutes . Good Thai fair. I had the Massaman curry and asked for spicy on the scale of mild, medium spicy, spicy, and Thai spicy, and it was rather spicy on my scale (considering I like hot food). My husband and I were there on Saturday night and waited almost an hour for our dinner ! They were not that busy other than their takeout food and their delivery service! It was just our table and another table of two and I feel we should not have to wait an hour for food when they're doing takeout and delivery service !The food is delicious. First time here and we enjoyed it. It's a small little place in Sussex County on a side street. No issues parking in front. Curried Pastry Puffs were very tasty. I loved the Pork Pad Thai (huge portion) and my husband loved the Pad Cashew with Chicken dish. The veggies were fresh and plenty of them. The Berry Martini and "Thaiquila" cocktails were super tasty (full bar here). Service was friendly and efficient. I'd go back again for sure. read more

During our vacation to Mountain Creek, we were looking for places to eat around the area and came across Cravin Thai. We haven't had Thai food in a long time, so we ordered the Thai Chicken Wings with spicy sauce, Pineapple Fried Rice, and Pork Pad Basil. The Thai Chicken Wings were covered in sauce that was sweet with a little bit of heat. There was only one wing in the mix of drumsticks, but that didn't bother me. 4/5 The pineapple fried rice was good. The pineapples were still juicy, the rice wasn't too oily, and the cashews gave the dish a nice crunch in texture. 3.5/5 Pork Pad Basil - I wasn't too much of a fan of this dish because it lacked flavor and the pork was very rough. We were staying at the nearby. Crystal Springs resort and decided to come here for dinner to celebrate our joint birthdays. It was absolutely wonderful! The martinis were amazing. The dishes were wonderfully executed with thoughtful and delicious ingredients, and the customer service was really superb. Our waitress, The sweet Cuban woman with super fashionable glasses, was just what we needed as she made us feel comfortable and welcomed in an unknown area. I'd give zero stars if I could. My wife and I have been regulars at Cravin' Thai for close to 10 years. We supported then during Covid and spent quite a few dollars there in the last 10 years. We went to Cravin' Thai this evening. We had a reservation a d were seated next to a large party table... about 20 people. Apparently one of the restaurant owners or managers was friends with this group as she continually ran back and forth between the table and bar and the waitress station. The group was loud to the point that we couldn't hear each other speak. We asked to be moved to another table but were told that (that particular) table was reserved. We ate our appetizers and the noise got louder - to the point that we had to literally shout to hear each other. The noise got (crazy, right?) LOUDER. bu the timeout dinner course arrived. Honestly? It was the WORST dining experience of my life. The waitresses and management didn't come anywhere near our table the entire tine. When the check (thankfully, gratefully) came, I voiced my opinion, loudly. I asked the waitress if the woman from the table wa San employee... of COURSE she was. Needless to say, the management of the restaurant asked us why we were upset that people were having a "good time." In the interim, a few of the drunken bar chicks started cursing us out as well as a bald-headed douche that seemed to think that he was the bar area alpha male. I called the loudmouthed bar whore... we'll....I called her a bar whore. Sometimes the shoe fits. I actually walked out of the restaurant because I was soooo close to losing my composure that I worried what the consequences would be. My wife paid the bill. While I was lurking outside smoking a (calming, soothing) cigarette, the wildly vicious employee came outside and pointed me out to the group of (loudly obnoxious) patrons that had just stared to leave the restaurant. I went around the corner of the block to avoid the nonsense but one member of the party literally followed me and gave me the "stare" treatment. I will never eat here again. 7 years ago, I gave this establishment a 5 star rating. I admonish you to steer clear of this restaurant. The management are absolute assholes. By the way- they charge you $3.99 to use your credit card... sort of a bullshit move. Things change, sometimes for the worse. Good bye Cravin' Thai. Wouldn't expect to find good Thai food out in this area, but this place wasn't bad. The service was friendly and the portion sizes were huge. The food was good, but definitely not authentic. I had the chicken with fried rice, the vegetables were quite nice, but the addition of sliced tomato was very strange, very uncommon in Thai food like this and it really didn't blend well with the dish. The chicken was a little bland and the rice too sweet. The pork and pad thai were a little better, but the best dish was definitely the steak, cooked very well, not much to complain about. I have been here on a number of occasions, and thought I had already reviewed it. This place is wonderful. It has a small field to it, but is a wonderful restaurant. We had two different curries and drunken noodles for main courses, had a fried tofu appetizer, and also an appetizer sample. All were just done to perfection and delicious. Best Thai food I've had in awhile! It just happened to be in a small random town in New Jersey! How lucky we were to find this place. It was pretty busy on a Friday night with families all the way up to middle/older aged couples and friends. We got a two top in the back and felt a little cramped but not too inconvienenced. I had a cucumber martini which was pretty good but not super memorable. What makes this a five star is the food! We split the drunken noodles and we could have easily both eaten our own. It was one of the best drunken noodles I've had! Then we needed a little more food so we split the chicken satay. Food takes too long I came with 2 other ppl at 6pm on a saturday. We ordered our food within 10 minutes. Waited and waited and finally our appetizers came at like 642pm. Our entrees weren't served until 7:16pm. We then had to rush through our dinner cuz we had to be somewhere else at 8pm. Did not have time to enjoy the food. Food was just alright. Nothing outstanding I can comment on. For appetizers,we tried the spicy chicken wings, curry puffs, Tom yum soup, and papaya salad. Nothing really stood out. The papaya salad tasted like the Vietnamese sliced radish/carrot/fish sauce combo. If I had to pick one, I liked the spicy chicken wings. For entrees, Green curry chicken rice-it was alright. There wasn't a lot of meat in the curry. Drunken noodle with beef-it was ok. Tasted like Chinese "gong chow ngau haw" (stir fried beef ho fun). Duck- pretty good. Skin was crispy. Again, I'm just mad that food took so long to come and because of it, I wasn't able to fully enjoy what I ate. read more
