It's evident that the Covid issues are no longer an issue. Yes it is Saturday night of Valentines weekend. The place is definitely not prepared for the amount of orders and dine in patrons. Give your self at least 30+ minutes I'm currently waiting 45 minutes past my take out order time.

Sushi presentation: art on the plate! Look at the swimming fish and music notes! Lovely!

Hidden gem of Sussex County! We've tried sushi, Chinese and hibachi here on 4 different occasions and were pleased every time! Hibachi show is fun and creative. Chinese fusion food was delicious (sesame chicken yum-yum!); and sushi presentation was superb! They also have a loyalty program: spend $200 - get $20 gift card. Nice!

Sushi sashimi combo.

I'm from Bergen county so I consider myself a bit of a sushi snob. The sushi here was very fresh and the presentation was very pretty. We also had the udon soup and tempura which was delicious. Service was excellent and the price was what you would expect. 5 stars from these patrons. Will definitely be coming back.

This was great place for dinner hibachi style. Good show decent food. BYOB liquor store next store. Would go again.

Enjoying the beers we brought

BYO ALERT! We were able to bring some beers and I was able to have my favorite beer (Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale) with my favorite type of food. Went here with my wife and we had a blast. It was a slow Thursday night and they ended up giving us a whole hibachi table for ourselves, which was very nice. We ordered the chicken and it came with fried rice, vegetables, 2 shrimps, a soup, and a salad. The food tasted fresh and flavorful though nothing innovating. This is just your nice ol' hibachi spot in the middle of the mountains... But it's a good one at that. We also ordered some sushi and it was pretty good. I particularly enjoyed their shrimp tempura roll, I am known to be a fan of those, and when I find one made with love I have to toot its horn. Seriously though, this place should not be that slow on a Thursday night. Not complaining about getting my own table, though.

The food is subpar and the service is horrible! The waitress barely looked at us and the steak was Grey and Under seasoned!

Called for reservation but probably wasn't needed (July 3rd and weather issues in the area) Great…read moreservice. Greeted promptly when we arrived. Restaurant maybe 1/2 full. Couldn't decide so we ordered a few apps (KFC chicken, edamame and scallion pancake) all of which were delicious. Decided to get bao buns and fried rice. Note: ordered chicken and shrimp but should have specified we wanted one dish with both meats - instead we got 2 bowls - which just means more for lunch tomorrow! Staff stayed calm when the lights flickered a few times and just said "hopefully the chefs are almost done with your meals because we don't have a generator"). Had to dodge a few broken trees on 94 on the way home but all in all a great meal! Also it's BYOB but really didn't miss the wine - Yuzu ade was refreshing on this 90+ degree day.

Blue Spice has been on my to-do list for literally years, and Monday was finally the day. I stopped…read moreby for lunch with my top-tier chum, a native of the Kingdom of Sussex who has been here before and has spoken highly of it. I don't know why I was surprised to discover this was in a strip mall, but that's on me. A nice one, at least. The place was relatively busy but we were able to secure a table easily with zero wait time. Pleasant vibes inside. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I was expecting more ethnic decor in line with the restaurant's menu - instead, it's pretty Americanized and feels like a classic suburban NJ establishment. I liked the painted brick on the lefthand side that has Blue Spice's logo/sign on it; spiffy. The bathroom was also a high point, which is...not something I say often. It was very clean and smelled nice, and I liked the dark cruise-ship lighting vibe. We decided to split the scallion pancake app, which was an excellent decision. I work in the city and regularly have this item from a place in Chinatown, and I honestly thought this was better, mostly because it was thicker/denser than what I'm used to. Super tasty and would get that again in a heartbeat. Giant portion as well - we split the pancake, which was roughly the size of a small pizza. My chum had leftovers there, I did not; so it goes with us. I've had a few mediocre chicken katsu experiences of late, so this seemed like a chance for redemption. I ordered the Akiko Curry entree, which was their spin on chicken katsu curry. Honestly wasn't my favorite. Again, a HUGE portion here and was only able to finish about 60% of it despite having a pretty legit appetite coming in. And the presentation value is excellent as well, as far as that goes. This could easily just be a personal palate preference, but I wasn't crazy about the curry itself (which had a weird tang to it) and didn't resemble the standard curry I'm used to with this dish. Also, as you can see from the attached, the curry is basically on the side of the dish, separated from the chicken and rice. Because of that, the chicken is on the dry side, which is my primary beef (pun?) with the item to begin with. So a miss for me, but I could see why other people would like this (and apparently do). The service was excellent, full stop. Our waitress was very nice and personable; she had strong command of the menu and you could see her consistently engaging with other patrons throughout our meal as well. She took several group photos so this is apparently a Kingdom of Sussex hot spot for that, which I wouldn't have guessed. She was so good both of us remarked on it multiple times during the meal, which is a rarity. But a great example of hospitality markedly improving an experience and making what was already an overall positive situation that much better. Huge marks there. Would definitely come back but would explore other parts of the menu once I feasted on the scallion pancake.

Look. Others have said it for years and years. The crowds every night are telling. This place is a…read morelocal institution. The last couple of times I tried to come here, the wait was out the door, so long that my group bailed. So I called tonight, just two people, and we went right in with no wait! Third time's the charm. This place is as charming on the inside as it is on the outside. If it seems overdone on the outside (make sure to enjoy the live koi!), it gives way to tasteful elegance on the inside. There is no dress code, but don't wear shorts or a T-shirt. Level up a bit. For those who remember Chengdu 46, that's what it's like here - upscale ambiance without being a gourmet restaurant. That said: this is gourmet cuisine. I ordered from the full page of Chinese authentic recipes: Szechuan boiled stew - with beef as it is the traditional meat, I was told. SIde of rice, extra spicy. When it came out, presentation: 10/10. My stars, that was enough food for an entire family. I took my first bite and immediately stopped responding to the outside world. How was my food? I nodded. Other than more water and requesting a second bowl of rice (which was gladly provided at no fee), I went through pretty much the entire gigantic platter in one go. That. is five stars. My mother said chicken and mixed vegetable was 5 stars delicious. The only flaw was too much starch in the sauce, but a review later confirmed that traditional Chinese sauce does use a lot of starch. Authentic through and through. And if you couldn't tell from this, service is also gourmet. You are greeted immediately, escorted straight to your seat, and water appears. Utensils appear. WIth the size of this restaurant and the population ordering inside, there is almost always a staff member walking by your table. If they don't notice you need something, all you have to do is signal or ask, and it will be yours. Chopsticks. More water. More rice. To-go container. Young, old, different dress, we had at least 8 different people come by at some point for something. Spectacular. Out came the bill. In the end, it wasn't all that much for the quantity and quality of food that we got. Now I'm forewarned next time I come: bring my appetite. And more people to share all the food. Join me.

American Chinese food was ok, though much of it was still off-temperature due to the commute over. The rice and noodle was just-ok. Not as good flavor as an AJ Bistro. Gold coin steak was saucy, yes, but meat was tough. General cho's was soggy. The more authentic Chinese dishes, though, were much better - the xiaolongbao were good, BBQ spare ribs people liked (I found too dry and lacked flavor in the middle of the rib meat, needed more marination), Shanghai bok choy with mushroom was great, lobster & scallion was excellent. Seared green beans were good. Overall, mixed bag on dishes - I think it'll be better when I go to eat in-person.
