We STILL come here every Tuesday - Tuna Tuesdays is a lifestyle choice - and we are fully committed to SY2! The entire staff is knowledgeable, helpful, attentive, and wonderfully polite. We always sit at the Sushi Bar (habit).... and we are never disappointed. Now ... here's the trick ... if you are sushi connoisseurs like we are, and want something new ... just ask the chef to make you something - appetizers, rolls, etc, they have the talent and food combinations to make your palette sing!! You'll never get the same thing twice - and you'll always be amazed with what they come up with! read more

I order from here pretty often, sushi is great. I love the variety of options when I was pregnant I wanted rolls and they had safe alternatives. I have always ordered to go but the staff were always friendly. read more

Lovely service- unique rolls- nice atmosphere and good value for the high quality food. A go to take out after a long day and sometimes a dine in on special occasions. read more

My boyfriend and I love this place! We eat a lot of sushi and even compared to somewhere on the coast next to the harbors this place wins in quality and quantity over 95% of places we've tried. If you like sushi, especially sashimi and nigiri where the fish itself is the highlight I would HIGHLY recommend this place. As with anything, I think it's better if you sit down. We can't speak for the cooked items because we are raw fish people, but I'm sure that would be just as good! read more

Awful service. Waitress with glasses is a miserable. Simply rude, unfriendly, pompous.

I thought I reviewed this before but apparently I didn't. I get here periodically and it's always good. You can't go wrong at Sushi Ya 2. Tonight, my daughter was visiting from out of town, and we decided to go there. I went out of the box and tried something new. I had three different rollsand they were all fabulous. Most of the time I eat at the sushi bar and enjoy what the sushi chefs create. Looking forward to my next visit. It is always clean, prompt service, good food and fresh and good pricing. You can't go wrong! read more

We live on Cape Cod and were just passing by and stopped for lunch. Nice space and sat at the sushi bar. Looked at the lunch menu and were presented with a complimentary salmon dish. Ordered a bento box and sashimi platter. Both came with miso soup and a fresh salad. The fish was fresh and beautifully presented. The chicken katsu in the bento box was delicious. read more

Cute sushi place with friendly and fast service located right by the wine store and Acme in Vernon. BYOB and also has fun Japanese sodas to drink. We started with miso soup and then got the sushi deluxe, pink apple roll, and house wasabi roll. Everything was great and I especially loved the house wasabi roll - never had a special roll like it and it was pack with wasabi caviar. They do takeout but I don't think delivery even through apps. Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area! read more

Great sushi - very consistent. I always do takeout and have never been disappointed. My only criticism was the way they packed soy sauce into the big platter of sushi (a big container of soy sauce placed on top with no bag) which caused me to spill it all over, but they took note and fixed that when I brought it up. read more

We took a long break from Sushi Ya 2 because the quality hasn't been great. Regrettably we ordered again tonight. We were craving Japanese, and our choices are limited. The Yaki Udon had no flavor at all. Cucumbers in the maki weren't fresh. They were soft and gross. They did not include wasabi in our take out order although we ordered 4 rolls plus a la carte sushi. Disappointed again. read more

I stopped by here for a business lunch and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff, nice environment, spacious plenty seating available. Restaurant is kept clean and organized the times I've visited here. Food tastes great and I'm happy for that. Portion sizes on some of the items are fairly small. One dish is strictly for one person but the food is great. They will also accommodate any special requests, not common at most sushi places. Definitely will return. PS: This place is BYOB with no cork fees. read more

Great service. Food is fresh, good variety and quick preparation. Always a good experience when eating in or pickup for takeout!

Calamari was over cooked and tough. Food was not good, it lacked flavor. Service was terrible, I will not return. It was not worth the money or my time. read more

Reviews say the best in the area.. it just might be but on a whole spectrum, this place was a bust for me. The sushi lacked flavor and the portions were really small. I ordered a mango special roll but there wasn't even much mango or mango sauce on the roll. I am giving them 3 stars only because their service was great. Maybe the sushi would be better if I dinned in, I will never know. read more

It is hidden gem in the ACME plaza. With the wide variety menu, it caters to a lot. I ordered an array of items and was not disappointed. From the seafood salad to the mochi very tasty and fulfilling. I will be trying the hibachi and bento box next. read more

Located in the shopping plaza in Vernon nj We went for lunch with our children and whilst the food is not the worst ever. It's edible. It just isn't anything to write home about. The restaurant was nearly empty with the exception of one other table of guest and the staff eating. The treasure island was actually the best thing we had. It's the avocado with crunchy spicy tuna. We ordered a number of rolls, hibachi, fried calamari and a steak soup. All of it was just ok. The waitress was not very attentive and kept going back to her coworkers who where eating to talk. We didn't feel like she was paying much attention to us and at some point she also joined them to eat at a booth whilst in the middle of serving us. We will not be returning. read more

We're so happy that Sushi Ya 2 is open for indoor dining again. We've picked up takeout there during the pandemic but have always enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar. The food was excellent, of course. Restaurants that charge an extra fee to use a credit card is a dealbreaker for us. So happy that Sushi Ya 2 doesn't do that! We'll be back. read more

Went for dinner We were the only two people in the restaurant. They forgot the sushi I ordered and the the beef teriyaki was ok. I don't know if I would do back. read more

I was there in the middle of the day after visiting eye doctor next door. Food and service was ok. But the restaurant had a distinct fishy smell. Not like a good fresh, sushi fish smell. More like a fish market fish smell. They could use some better ventilation. read more

The mango and chili sauce shrimp tempura was prob the best roll I have ever had. Yum in Tum!

Simply put the best food in Vernon area hands down without reservations. Possibly Crystal Tavern can rival on a good day but service is an issue when they Get swamped in golf season. I love everything on the menu and have tried it all!!! read more

Authentic sushi for a great price. Avocado salad is also very good! Friendly staff with nice vibe.

Although this restaurant doesn't seem like much from the outside, it's a hidden gem! My partner has ordered the chicken fried rice and I ordered the Classic Roll, with Shrimp and Veggie Tempura to start us off. It was delicious! The portion of sushi, in my opinion, was extremely small. But it was rich in flavor, tasted fresh and natural, and left me satisfied. Thank god for the appetizer, or I would have still been hungry! But for the amount it cost in ratio with the quality of the meal, it was a 9 out of 10! I would recommend! Most definitely will be visiting again! read more

This is our go to place for sushi, service is always attentive at and the restaurant itself is very clean. BYOB is a plus

Food looked beautiful. Waitress was very nice. Decor was attractive. Intimate setting. Restaurant and restroom were clean. Just not my kind of food. read more

The food was delicious and it was prepared in good timing! However it was a mission in itself to get the waitress to our table to take our order, there were three waitresses and three tables that had people at them when we went. (In other words it was empty) The waitress was rude and did not smile once, we consistently said "please" and "thank you so much", and we were simply ignored. If the service was great I would definitely go back because the food is good, but because of the service I WILL NOT BE BACK. I can get great sushi somewhere else with nice people; I repeat, I will not be back to this restaurant. read more

A typical strip mall Chinese/Japanese joint. Food is tasty but greasy. Could be cleaner as well.

Found this place at an Airbnb we were staying at at Mountain Creek. It is just a few minutes away from Mountain Creek. We ate the sushi so fast I didn't think to take pictures. Definitely check out this restaurant. The sushi was delicious! My favorite was the crazy tuna roll. One of the best roles I've had in a very long time. We ordered 4 other Roma's that were just as good ! Enjoy a day of skiing and treat yourself with some sushi read more

Ordered a veggie hibachi dinner as well as a steak hibachi dinner. I had asked for extra sauce with my meals and they insisted on informing us that the meals already come with 2 sauces. We understood and asked for extra sauce anyways, and offered to pay an extra charge for the sauces. Once I got back home and opened my food this is what I received for sauce! There's less sauce in both those containers then should normally be in just one container for dinner. Really disappointed I was only able to dip 2 pieces of my steak hibachi into the sauce before it was all gone. Won't be returning! read more

We had take out for 5 after a ski day, and it was delicious, very fresh and packed well. My flower roll was beautifully rolled with lots of roe piled on. We also had a naruto roll - nice to see riceless rolls on the menu. I had the clear soup with dumpling. It was full of cabbage, carrots, mushrooms and dumplings. I can't wait to have that soup again. We ordered wasabi shumai. I was expecting more spice, and they were a little mushier than expected, but interesting never-the-less. My husband had a king roll, which was a nice combination. The place filled up quickly while I waited my 20 mins for our meal, but they hustled and were very accommodating as I added on some Japanese sodas for the kids. Looking forward to dinner there in the future with some BYOB. Wish they had a 4 1/2 stars in yelp because this place is solid. read more
