The shrimp tempura was really good, and we also ordered a sushi platter. This was actually my first time having sushi served like that and trying that many different pieces at once. As soon as it appeared we were finished, our plates were taken away and the check was essentially tossed onto the table. We didn't make a single complaint during the meal. Normally, I'll simply eat the bad meal, pay the bill, and make the decision to never return. No scene, no argument, no bad review. But then came the part that really surprised us. We paid our bill by card, but planned on leaving the server a cash tip, which is something I personally prefer to do because I like knowing the server receives their tip directly. Apparently, because there was no tip written on the credit card receipt, the waitress came back to our table and loudly said, "You didn't tip." In a restaurant full of people, being publicly called out about a tip was incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassing. And the irony is that we had not complained once about the cold food, the service, or anything else. Needless to say, there won't be a next time. On top of the experience, the restaurant itself felt dirty and run down, and there was a noticeable odor. The two fish tanks--without fish and apparently without much attention either--certainly didn't help. They looked and smelled like they had been forgotten about a long time ago. Maybe the food and service are better on another night, but based on our experience tonight, we won't be finding out. Sometimes the best way to lose a customer isn't one big mistake. It's a whole series of little ones--and then making sure they feel uncomfortable before they leave.

After mentioning this to the server, they have no way of ringing in a Pina Colada flavor for a Daqauri. She went to speak to her manager and we're informed that actually my husband's drink was also supposed to be $9 because all the virgin drinks are that much (much doubt). Then she walked away. Once the chef is done, they pretty much push you out the door, whether you're done eating or not, so they can turn the table. This is a tourist scam. Save your money and find another hibachi place.

I'll just mention that a few things made my decision , I will list them: screaming unattended children, fights and crowding over the crab legs, clientele that wear flannel in the summertime, most people in the restaurant where obese, getting elbowed when trying to get some food, generally mob like behavior all around. The portion of food received was a good amount for the price. The noodles were oily and had a slightly gummy texture. The entrée had a higher proportion of tender pieces of chicken than the veggies in the mix. The sodium was slightly higher than what I'm used to eating, but the chicken teriyaki was pretty good and filling.  The lady cooking my food asked me if I was Chinese and what part of China I come from. I told her I was originally from right here in New York State, as well as my old man too.
