Ordered delivery last night. Pork lo mein fried chicken wings great taste and crunch. Beef and broccoli.

The worst Chinese food I've ever had. Everything was burned. The boneless ribs were shoe leather. The bill was $65 for 4 entrees - 1.20 for crunchy noodles, no soy sauce or duck sauce. I guess they don't have to try too hard because they are the only game in town. I threw out the leftovers. read more

China Star - Chinese Near Me - Vernon, New Jersey

I just ordered sweet and sour chicken but the chicken tastes like it was left out on the counter for a few days. I only ate a few pieces but less than an hour later my stomach is aching and my bowels are exploding read more

Waited for an hour and a half for an order of orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and pork fried rice and when it was finally done ever tasted horrible. Worst Chinese food in town read more

Run fast and far. This is the worst food in the town of Vernon. Rice is always old. Food is subpar, all premade stored, and then reheated. Just gross. read more

C'mon guys! You can do so much better than this. This has be one of the worst Chinese take out I've ever ate at. In fact, I think I'm going to open a Chinese take out across the street from you. Bring some decent Chinese food to this community. read more

China Star - a tray of food and a cup of tea - Chinese Near Me - Vernon, New Jersey

Hard to find good Chinese food in OrangeCounty but this one hits the mark. Reasonably priced but short on ambiance. Really just a take out place. Their chicken with broccoli, egg rolls and pork fried rice were tasty. Looking forward to trying other choices from the extensive menu. read more

OK about 5 years ago this Chinese restaurant was about a 4 star. But now i can barely give it one star. It's ABSOLUTELY FILTHY DISGUSTING DIRTY. If the patron area looks this bad i could only imagine what the kitchen rear area looks like... It looks as if they have never cleaned the floors or walls Absolutely Atrocious !!!! Additionally, the food quality has gone way done hill but the prices have consistently continued to climb every year. It's a rip off for dirty low quality food.... We will never be eating here again EVER...... BEWARE VISITING THIS PLACE read more

LOVE LOVE! We had them cater our baby shower and it was amazing ! All the food was great and nothing but compliments!

I enjoy the food, it's good flavored. My only inquiry is if the restaurant can have better quality take out packaging. I sliced my index finger up a good bit trying to open their foil bowl with clear lid. The roll-over was facing out, so naturally, running my finger along the edge to open the food, resulted in slicing up my index finger, to where I'm bleeding and can't really eat the food well if my fingers are burning from hot spice and red pepper, citrus, etc. Long story short, kinda sucks eating spicy food with sliced up main fingers. Difficult to eat and unwrap to eat, may get cut and sliced fingers along the way. But once you're in, it's decent Chinese and worth eating. read more

Ok, I'm not sure what these reviews are, because they are all opinion with zero specifics. I've been coming here for about 8 yrs now. The bbq spare ribs, hot&spicy pork, boneless spareribs, pepper steak are all on point. I'll admit that they overdo the fried rice a little but it's all very good! read more

Delicious - fast. Professional- clean courteous Highly recommend General Tso 's ChickenRoast Pork Lomein read more

I have eaten here numerous times, and thought I already left a review, but apparently I hadn't. Everything I have ever ordered has been wonderful, tasty, and on time, if I was picking up. Everything is good, but I have a couple of favorites so making decisions is tough. They are always polite, courteous and helpful if I have questions about what is in the recipe/dish. I would not hesitate to return, or recommend to a friend. read more

Meh. One of the worst we ever had. Flavorless EXCEPT for way TOO HOT. Food tasted stale or just made with bad water... if you can understand it. Only good for keeping bears from raiding your garbage can. read more

Worst Chinese food. Horrible outside appearance. Signage is bad, service through window is odd. All in all. Bad.

It was bland, greasy and not good at all. I do not recommend this place at all. Customer service was good, but the food was not. Save your time and money and dine elsewhere. read more

Grade F. Real jersey styled take out chinese joint. Horrible food. Everything is salty and covered with greasy msg laden sauce. Its just bad food for hillbillies who know no better, For something better go to Warwick! read more

This actually has to be the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Everything is dry and bland. The lo mein is like eating string. The texture is awful and 0 taste. Of course the one time I was feeling too lazy to drive to good taste in Hamburg. What a mistake. Anyone who says otherwise is either on the take or clueless to what good food is. Never again read more

Always very good quality food. General towels chicken, chicken and eggplant and garlic sauce, and Singapore my fun are my three go-to's at China Star. Very good take out and fast. read more

The food is good but vegetarians beware. When ordering online, it looks like I'm only getting tofu but they do mix rice with meat in. They touch and it's hard to tell the difference. Couldn't eat my tofu. read more

Nowhere else for chinese food in area. Figured I would give them another try, because not at all impressed only other time I went there. Cost 1/3 more food was no better and bland, and brocolli was not fully cooked. Will only buy chinese food in Franklin from now on. read more

Looked for a Chinese place and this one seemed to fit the normal experience of what one would expect. Placing order was OK, I asked for two meals instead of one. When I picked up the order, there was only one meal prepared and no napkins or plasticware in the bag. Food was great and service was 8/10 friendly! read more

What's with all the red color in the food? The next day my,, yup,,, was red also!! I don't believe I will ever go back. I don't like mushy food, vegetables, everything was just mush on a plate. Wasn't even tasty. Uggh! read more

Visited Vernon for a Mountain Creek ski trip with friends and ordered from China Star one night through DoorDash. Food was great! Loaded with flavor and came fresh and piping hot. The fried rice was one of the best I've had from a Chinese restaurant in the tristate area in a long time. It had lots of meat, onions and bean sprouts throughout the rice where most other places you get rice and onions and a little meat. Definitely recommend this place. Egg rolls were great, so was the Hot & Spicy beef, beef lo mein, triple delight with garlic sauce and sweet & sour chicken. Wanted to give an honest updated 2021 review for anyone looking as some of the reviews don't make sense to us. read more

Solid affordable chinese food in an area where there's not much around. These guys have historically been better but it's still good!

China Star is my Go-To place for quick, tasty Chinese food. Great egg rolls, amazing House Special Lo Mein and Fried Rice, and top-notch Happy Family! I haven't had ANYTHING here that wasn't great-- not sure what Hepatitis Boy and Garlic Girl are talking about. They obviously haven't REALLY eaten here. If you want REALLY GOOD Chinese food with out driving all the way to Morris county, this is the place to go. read more

I have no idea how these other reviewers can say that this place is good. My boyfriends mom told me to try it because it was decent. So I tried... Worst decision ever. The food smelled awesome, but as soon as I put to to my mouth, I had to gasp for a breath because of the abundance of garlic that streamed off if the lo-mien. I was burping up my food with a strong taste of garlic for 3 days!!! I love garlic, but jeez. read more

We are very picky when it comes to our Chinese take out, and there is no better place around. I had an inside tip from a previous employee on how the meats and produce are received fresh daily and how the owner takes pride in choosing only quality ingredients. China Star has made another "happy family" :) read more

This restaurant far exceeded my expectations. It was very quickly ready and the food is great. Awesome. Go here!

The best takeout in the area and the friendliest people work there. The quality is way better than most chinese takeout around here and the prices are fair. The general tso's chicken is always very crispy and I love their chicken with broccoli and the mei fun is great which someone else had mentioned as well. They don't deliver and you can eat inside the restaurant if you want. I hope someday they will deliver! read more

Standard Chinese-American cuisine. The food is fresh, tastes great & the service is on point. I'm partial to the roast pork lomein, boneless spare ribs & steamed dumplings! Always a great experience with this establishment. Thank you! read more

I like this chinese restaurant. Tasty food . I ve been there many times. Staffs are friendly

You're looking at a generic Chinese restaurant, and they keep to it. Good American Chinese, quick service, and nice people. The go to for Chinese in Vernon. read more

Their food is good but today when I called for them to deliver to me which is not usual for me to do, being though I live less than 10 minutes away, asking just for 3 large soups to hold me over they said that they cannot do that one on the website there's no limit to delivery minimum. And three large soups is about $20. And of course I would tip them just bothers me that I can put in so much effort towards their business but when I'm actually under the weather they can't put forth the effort to please Me as the customer. read more

The food is decent, but the service is terrible. Fried noodles are always very ofd tasting, quite greasy at times. There's not much more to say. They have business cause they are the closest one in town...thats pretty much it. They refuse to deliver, however have door dash with limited selection and jacked up pricing. read more

This place is quick and consistent with it's food quality which is a plus for Chinese places. Everything seems to be standard fare for Chinese take out, nothing stands out. The General Tso's chicken is served with a very minimal amount of sauce. read more
