The worst Chinese food I've ever had. Everything was burned. The boneless ribs were shoe leather. The bill was $65 for 4 entrees - 1.20 for crunchy noodles, no soy sauce or duck sauce. I guess they don't have to try too hard because they are the only game in town. I threw out the leftovers. read more

OK about 5 years ago this Chinese restaurant was about a 4 star. But now i can barely give it one star. It's ABSOLUTELY FILTHY DISGUSTING DIRTY. If the patron area looks this bad i could only imagine what the kitchen rear area looks like... It looks as if they have never cleaned the floors or walls Absolutely Atrocious !!!! I enjoy the food, it's good flavored. My only inquiry is if the restaurant can have better quality take out packaging. I sliced my index finger up a good bit trying to open their foil bowl with clear lid. The roll-over was facing out, so naturally, running my finger along the edge to open the food, resulted in slicing up my index finger, to where I'm bleeding and can't really eat the food well if my fingers are burning from hot spice and red pepper, citrus, etc. Long story short, kinda sucks eating spicy food with sliced up main fingers. Difficult to eat and unwrap to eat, may get cut and sliced fingers along the way. But once you're in, it's decent Chinese and worth eating. read more

Ok, I'm not sure what these reviews are, because they are all opinion with zero specifics. I've been coming here for about 8 yrs now. Looked for a Chinese place and this one seemed to fit the normal experience of what one would expect. Placing order was OK, I asked for two meals instead of one. When I picked up the order, there was only one meal prepared and no napkins or plasticware in the bag. Food was great and service was 8/10 friendly! read more

Visited Vernon for a Mountain Creek ski trip with friends and ordered from China Star one night through DoorDash. Food was great! Loaded with flavor and came fresh and piping hot. The fried rice was one of the best I've had from a Chinese restaurant in the tristate area in a long time. It had lots of meat, onions and bean sprouts throughout the rice where most other places you get rice and onions and a little meat. Definitely recommend this place. Egg rolls were great, so was the Hot & Spicy beef, beef lo mein, triple delight with garlic sauce and sweet & sour chicken. Wanted to give an honest updated 2021 review for anyone looking as some of the reviews don't make sense to us. read more

China Star is my Go-To place for quick, tasty Chinese food. Great egg rolls, amazing House Special Lo Mein and Fried Rice, and top-notch Happy Family! I haven't had ANYTHING here that wasn't great-- not sure what Hepatitis Boy and Garlic Girl are talking about. They obviously haven't REALLY eaten here. If you want REALLY GOOD Chinese food with out driving all the way to Morris county, this is the place to go. read more

I had an inside tip from a previous employee on how the meats and produce are received fresh daily and how the owner takes pride in choosing only quality ingredients. The best takeout in the area and the friendliest people work there. The quality is way better than most chinese takeout around here and the prices are fair. The general tso's chicken is always very crispy and I love their chicken with broccoli and the mei fun is great which someone else had mentioned as well. Their food is good but today when I called for them to deliver to me which is not usual for me to do, being though I live less than 10 minutes away, asking just for 3 large soups to hold me over they said that they cannot do that one on the website there's no limit to delivery minimum. And three large soups is about $20. And of course I would tip them just bothers me that I can put in so much effort towards their business but when I'm actually under the weather they can't put forth the effort to please Me as the customer. read more
