The restaurant was a bit confusing to get to . I think there should have had a sign of where to go. It was around the corner and down a stairway on the ground floor of the building. My family and I gotten inside and I ordered sushi for them and I was questioned as to I think that is too much sushi for them. I said they will eat it and if they don't we can take it home. Once the sushi came I unraveled the seaweed and I was staired down by one of the owners as to what am I doing. I said they don't like eating it with the seaweed on it and she said I should had asked without seaweed. I didn't even think of it. Despite having a hard time locating this restaurant (its behind the CVS in Warwick), SO glad to have found this gem and grab lunch with my bestie! Food was fresh and delicious, presentation was on point. I loved all the dishes. Tried a new sushi roll - the fried cali roll with cream cheese - my new favorite. I also enjoyed the mango/eel roll. Our server was James who was awesome! On point, attentive and friendly. Environment was calm, relaxing and clean. What a gem in the local area!! Given the limited variety for dining/takeout options in this area, we were very pleasantly surprised to find a great sushi spot. We ordered takeout but did sit to enjoy a beer while the chefs prepared our order. Such a cute spot! Fish quality was great and the rolls were very well prepared (I love when sushi rice is done properly!). We tried a few apps (Gyoza, Spiced Shrimp) and rolls (Red Dragon, Black Dragon, Arizona Roll)--all delicious. The staff there are wonderful (very professional and pleasant). I would highly recommend this restaurant for your Japanese food cravings in the area. I love Tokyo Plum House! We're regulars here and love every aspect of this restaurant. Starting off with the atmosphere, very clean and organized environment! They display the sushi as well which is comforting in my opinion. The music is very relaxing and sets the atmosphere and vibe to this place and brings it to a whole new level. Very classical themed Japanese restaurant. Moving onto food, the food is amazing! Always served fresh and hot, and the salmon teriyaki is always incredible! Finally, the service is outstanding! Everyone is very welcoming and friendly, and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this restaurant may also be family owned as of what I know. The waiters/waitresses always take our order immediately/asap and always try their best to provide the perfect service for their customers, regardless of how busy. Worst meal ever! Ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner. It was supposed to be chicken teriyaki over white rice with vegetables. What I got was dried out potatoes, hard chunks of carrots, 2 pieces of broccoli and red cabbage(?) in one section. The main dish had no rice, completely dried out chicken that you couldn't eat with soy sauce poured over it amd no rice. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Very small portions-but the food is fresh and good. A little expensive for what you get. We ordered about 100$ worth of sushi for 2 , and left a little hungry. Very little rice under the sushi, and the rolls are cut very small into 6 pieces. So bummed. The entrance is a little hard to find (back of the parking lot and a little hidden away). The food is great, fresh, delicious. I have been to this restaurant for takeout only. I'd say over 10+ times. I get nothing too fancy, avocado roll, California roll & shrimp tempura roll with a side of spicy mayonnaise. Always been the same price, between $16-$19. Last time I went i asked for an avocado roll and got a roll with salmon(i think) in it. Then, i ordered my same exact meal...it cost $38!!!!!??? I like the food in this small Warwick location, but I agree with others that the rolls are smaller than what I am used to. The fish is fresh. No complaints with the quality of the rolls. The gyoza is over fried. The shumai is very good, but again, very small portions. The scallions wrapped around beef seemed "overcooked". If you come here, just order sushi. The cooked food just doesn't seem very good. Sushi - excellent Portions - small I still prefer Sushi X in Ridgewood. read more

Honestly, I don't know why I have even been to this place more than once. The rolls are terrible and the service isn't great It is priced about average...but the taste is far below average. There is NO taste. Nothing tastes fresh...it is actually a bit gross. Too much rice on the rolls and not enough in them. I have given this place more than a fair chance and I just never leave happy. When it comes to sushi I am very particular. My friend and I came here for dinner yesterday. Now, it is very surprising that I have never eaten here before, especially since it's so close to my house. I guess it's because I never heard good things about it, but I figured I would try it out. We started off with seaweed and regular salad (I had the seaweed and she had the regular). I thought the salad was pretty good. We then had four different rolls. Spicy tuna, California, shrimp tempura and some other kind of roll with salmon, crab and some other kind of fish. The rolls were okay, but nothing like some other places I visited. The best one would have to be the one I didn't remember the name of (sorry). It was pretty fresh tasting. The California roll was just your average roll. The shrimp tempura tasted a little soggy, like it was sitting for awhile. The spicy tuna was nasty. I actually didn't even eat it, it was so nasty. It has some strange green stuff in it that tasted sort of minty. All of the rolls also tasted like they were rapped in way to much rice. The one good thing about the place was that the prices were pretty good. read more

OK Japanese food. Warwick has very little competition for anything but pub or italian food. Tokyo Plum house is fair, the prices are average and the service is ok. It is a casual place with not much atmosphere. They do lots of take out and the dining area is a step or two above a take out place. They really need to find better music - it sounds like the generic new-age meditation music you hear at a spa. It nearly put me to sleep. I had an Undon Noodle bowl that was ok and my companion had a seafood dish that was plated nicely and also ok. We may try again for the sushi, but not really tempted to come back any time soon. Tokyo Plum House is THE BEST sushi I have found since leaving Boston-- in New York, most "sushi" restaurants are not authentic in content or culture, yet Tokyo Plum House reminds me of my beloved Boston restaurants-- it's family run, and so attention is paid to every detail of your food, and it's EXTREMELY high quality and delicious.
