Definitely more of take out, considering how many people came through here while I sat in to eat, but still they serve you if you eat in. They have all sauces and utensils out for to go or eat in. Got sashimi simpler and even though it was bit small portion, at least the pieces were very thick and tasty. For the New York roll, it was delicious but a-bit muted on the spicy side. Ordered a General Tso's Chicken Dinner that comes with fried rice and egg roll, Pork Lo Mein, Spare Ribs. I walked in and was not acknowledged at all. One guy literally asleep with his head on the counter, another guy on a stool focused on his phone, two people cooking looked up and noticed me and said something out loud to alert them... NOTHING! When you walk in the place is really cute and well decorated with the sushi bar guy/gal right there at the counter where you can see him/her preparing your raw fish meal. Hehe! The place has ample seating if you wanted to dine-in and they serve you on nice plates. While I wouldn't consider this place an actual sit down restaurant they do cater to dine-in patrons really well. They don't just give you paper plates for your food to stay. They bring out your meal on plates presented really well. I had the typical pork fried rice and some chicken wings on the side. While the food wasn't terrible I didn't feel like it tasted as good as the typical Chinese spot. I'll have to try the Chinese joint across the street to compare. As I consider & recall the taste of my food as I type up this review I keep thinking it was lacking flavors. I feel like they cooked the food in a bland safe way so that customers don't complain it's too spicy, salty or whatever bold flavors might pop from adding seasonings. Overall not a bad place but certainly the jury is still out because maybe my visit was a fluke and the chef was rushed. Well, I've been coming to Kiki's for a while now and I have to say the odd odors are starting to get to me. I've ignored it up until now but on my last visit, the AC was barely on and a pungent stench of mold mixed with smoldering humidity permeated throughout the place. My sushi was not up to par either. Dry and inadequate portions of fresh fish sushi is not acceptable...especially at those prices. The rainbow roll barely had any salmon and tuna on it. The pink panther roll is supposed to have lobster but that bed of crunch stuff on top tasted more like shredded imitation crab. The only thing I really enjoyed was the dragon roll which was a perfect medley of eel, avocado and cucumber. There was this overpriced artificial looking roll with imitation egg and crab that had their version of pickled veggies...totally gross. I can go on cuz I ordered quite a bit of Sushi that really translated into not that much sushi (portion wise) considering the outrageous prices. I didn't mind being ripped off by Kiki's in the past cuz the portions and quality of sushi was always great. But this new sushi chef is just horrible...he has terrible rolling skills and puts a lackluster inadequate amount of fresh sushi in his rolls while loading up on the imitation crab in practically every roll (which costs them a fraction of what they're charging us). Kiki's does not deserve to stay in business if they continue to go on like this being unprofessional and the place smelling worse than a soupy morgue. I will not be dining at Kiki's again due to the peculiar musty smells and the potentially dangerous mold problem they may have. Furthermore, the 10 to 12 cats they have living in what looks like a storage shed in their parking lot is definitely not scoring any points for them. I love this Chinese Restaurant. I wish they allowed seating at their few tables like they used to. Right now there is a huge plastic curtain that goes around the checkout area. Chairs on stacked on tables and you cannot sit inside at all. I miss being able to go there and sit. I guess they're being super cautious. read more
