I visited Taos restaurant a couple of days ago and this is my review. The food was pretty good I got the soup with the chicken and the rice it was really good and dumplings I also got that I would say the dumplings you should not get them because they were a little dry but if you had some soy sauce a little better. The service was pretty good the man came and served us right away he was very nice. The ambience was like very homey and like felt very nice it felt like I was at home eating Chinese I would say..... The only reason why it gets three stars is because I feel like Chinese food just like needs like a proper vibe to it and like if I don't have that proper vibe I cannot enjoy the Chinese food like I can before when I go to my favorite Chinese place it's called. thank you for reading my review have a good day go to toaos restaurant

Best Chinese food I have had in the Hudson Valley hands down. Everything was delicious and fresh. If you miss the classic sit down meal at Chinese restaurants this is the spot for you. Staff were friendly and had great recommendations. Will be back for sure

Great food very authentic. Host was fantastic and very engaging. Tried several appetizers which were delicious. The dinning room is large and super clean. Menu has lots of traditional dishes to choose from. Nice to be able to sit and have a meal that's not in a take out setting. Look forward to going back.

This place used to be John's Harvest restaurant that had been a local restaurant for decades. I heard from a friend that they liked this new place so I decided to try them out. There is a separate entrance for to go and one for dine in. The menu is a little different from your typical Chinese food place. I ordered steamed dumplings and pumpkin pancakes. The dumplings were tiny and flavorless and the pancakes were burnt. I am reluctant to give a poor review since they are a new business I think and I would like to give them another shot before possibly editing this review. However, I would suggest trying this place out if you are a true Chinese foodie. Maybe the other items on their vast menu are prepared better.

We were passing by and stopped by. Overall it is good -- the food was tasty and served pretty fast, hit the spot right. The service is not too bad, just a bit different. We were eating while the waitress got into a pretty heated discussion with a customer. While she came to talk to us, she seemed very sweet and helpful.

There are not a lot of really good Chinese restaurants in this area. For us, Middletown is a 45 minute drive but when we're in this direction, we love to visit Tao's. Large menu, with sometimes amusing English (I especially like the Cooked Wheaten Food category--noodles and dumplings). The "All-Day Lunch Specials" include soup and rice and are the best deal but if you want authentic and exotic items, you can work your way through the rest of the menu. And I know a lot of reviews complain about the owner's rudeness. She is brusque and non-nonsense but we have never experienced rudeness and she gives us whatever we ask for. Maybe she has softened, as most of the recent reviews have not cited rudeness.

Was craving some authentic Chinese food while driving around Middletown, and found Tao's through a quick Yelp search. The restaurant is easy to miss when driving on the main road because it doesn't look like your typical Chinese restaurant. I stopped in at 1130am on a Monday, and Tao's was completely empty. I was immediately greeted by a friendly woman who I believe was the owner, who handed me the cleanest and nicest feeling menu. If you go, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!! The menu had SO many great selections. I was excited and surprised to see that they offered a winter melon and pork belly soup (so uncommon to find this in restaurants, especially up in Orange County), so I knew I needed to order it! Both the winter melon and pork belly were both sliced thin; and the flavor of the soup was very good. For my meal, I ordered the sliced fish in chili oil - it was so unbelievably good!! The fish was nicely marinated and the texture of it was just perfect. The chili oil sauce LOOKS extremely spicy because it's super red, but it really wasn't too spicy or overbearing - just the right amount of heat for me. The portions of both the soup and the fish were large and can be split between two people. I'm so excited to have found this place and would highly recommend this place to anyone. Can't wait to go again!

Some of our favorites are crispy duck , pork and chive steam dumplings, clear noodles with pork and sweet and sour shrimp .

Pros: We chose Natasha for a small family party to celebrate our wedding this spring. We went with…read moreher mainly because she was the first/only chef to begin our conversation by asking us what WE had in mind and letting that be the foundation for building the menu. She seemed eager to help us realize our vision rather than impose someone else's onto us. There are also four other people on the IBN team: the sous chef, whose name I forget; the bartender, for whom the same is true (maybe Aaron or Erin), and two servers: Mason and Spencer. These folks did an AMAZING job and we were both so grateful for their kindness and professionalism on the day of the event. Finally, I liked what I ate! I was happy with my day-of meal. Cons: Natasha was incredibly rude to both me and my husband in the weeks leading up to the post-wedding party. I had only spoken to her twice before the party: once when I hired her and again in February. She'd said in February that we could have a third and final call two weeks before the event. When I emailed her three weeks before the event to schedule this final call, she sounded irritated and said we'd spoken "a few days ago" (we had not; I even asked some relatives in case someone else had, but no) and she wanted to "stick to the plan" of having a call at a date a time to which we had not agreed--- only *five* days before the party. My husband reminded her that she'd said we could talk two weeks before and she eventually, reluctantly scheduled a call with us. When we call at the date and time she told us to, she does not pick up; instead, she texts us that she's in the middle of an event. All of these things are perfectly normal, human mistakes. We all get clients confused and talk to one as though they are another (like the "a few days ago" thing). We all overbook ourselves every once in a while and are unavailable after telling someone we would be. A professional would have simply apologized; instead, after I used *one sentence* of an email to express my disappointment about the missed call--- because my husband had taken off work to be available for it, so lost money for no reason--she used this as an excuse to threaten not to show up. Said she needed us to "confirm" in light of my "tone." In light of this, I decided not to speak to this person anymore unless absolutely necessary (i.e. at the party, for the sake of our guests). My husband took over talking to her, at which point we had a fun little role-reversal in which he was now the one reporting to me on a regular basis how rude Natasha was being to him. So at least I know it wasn't personal! Conclusion: If you just need to place a big food order and don't need to talk to the chef again after that, you can go with IBN and you'll probably be fine. If, however, you are planning an event of great importance to you--or just don't want to risk being treated like a burden for wanting to speak more than once with someone you're employing-- maybe look elsewhere.
