I absolutely love Yune's I think they have high quality sushi. There is days like these where it doesn't make sense . I stopped in there for lunch today. I ordered a Avocado roll and a chicken tempera roll , but both of the rolls was on separate plates when it could had just been on one plate. I also had to ask for regular chopsticks since I didn't have any , no napkin and no plate for the sauce. The service was a bit slow too and there was no one there. A very classy sushi place for sure, nice to seat in a upscale sushi house and very clean as well. The service was great too, the waiter I had, only came when to take plates and was very polite, not pushy to order or to see if you enjoyed the food. Nice to see a waiter that does not brown nose for tips. So as for the food, the spicy crab salad, plenty of crab meat and very thinly sliced cucumbers, appreciate it being light and not chunky, but do wish it was more spicy, would elevated it more. I recently hosted the rehearsal dinner for my wedding at Yune's and it couldn't have been a better experience. The chef Kyu and their coordinator Polly both worked personally with me to create a custom buffet for our thirty person party. They were so accommodating and communicative. Ever since I started coming to this sushi place 7 years ago, the quality of the food has really gone down. I remember them having the best ginger dressing for their salads. Now the salads are giant chunks of watery ice berg lettuce with mediocre store-bought-style dressing. The eel is delicious but the Fluke is not. The soups are delicious but the salads are not. My boyfriend and I decided to split the bibimbap and get two vegetarian rolls (the oshinko and fashionista!). The waitress was very accommodating in adjusting the bibimbap to our liking, as well as recommending a tofu substitute instead of the meat options. Service was quick! Food came ten minutes later! The bibimbap was very good, the rice didn't crunch up how I normally like it to, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it! Both rolls were phenomenal and so flavorful. I'm sorry to any other sushi spot that Ive ever said was the best ever. Honestly this was an outstanding experience. The sashimi is the freshest I've ever had in my life to date. It was melt in your mouth; so fresh and amazing! We got miso soups which were very very yummy. The (wonderful by the way) waitress brought over some complementary things that weren't on the menu. They were so good though. It was a ball of spicy tuna (not some mashed up mess either) with avocado, crunch flakes and sauce on top. They were called Dino eggs lol. The cold sake was so good. We got a bottle of peach and another bottle also. After that, we ordered 2 rolls. Salmon skin roll (which I had never had before) and it was delicious and crunchy. And we had a snow roll which was so good! It had eel, cream cheese, and was deep fried! Soo delish! The service we received was outstanding. The Waitress was very polite and attentive. Just a super friendly young woman. We even had a mishap in our party of three where it made a bit of a sticky mess. It was not a problem though. The waitress and busser helped quickly to clean it up. To top it all off, we got a fried ice cream dessert. It was big enough to feed over three people for sure!! It was so good! I think this experience has certainly topped every other sushi restaurant experience yet! I know I will find myself back here. Yune's saved the night for me and my party of 8. Had reservations for Okarie after my brothers graduation last night. It was a chaotic unorganized disaster of a place. We left. After spending 3 hours at graduation and 1 hour in this place we were starving. I called Yune's (at 9:25) since it was close by. I explained its my brothers graduation. They said that the kitchen is closing I said I understand. Then few minutes later I get a call back from Yune's saying to come that the owner said it's okay! We rushed over. *The food was delicious and fresh. My entire family enjoyed their dishes. I had the chicken teriyaki, my new favorite !!! The presentation was beautiful(I wish I took more food pics to post). The ambiance was calming. Lighting was dim. The portions was generous. The price was reasonable. The time the food was ready was perfect considering the amount of us. We were all relieved to be in a beautiful establishment. * Our nice waitress had later said that the owner made our food himself. We were all amazed. She said that when I called and told them it was a graduation dinner he felt that he had to take care of us ..even with his staff gone. This is a owner dedicated to his business . And a man with great values . He didn't have to take us in but instead he took it upon himself to take care of it. He eventually came out and spoke to us saying he understood it was graduation and couldn't say no. And that the desert was on him for my brother. We decided to try this restaurant because of all the great reviews which I now chalk up to lack of anything better in the area. Terrible service!!!! We arrived just before 6:00pm wanting to get in and out quickly. The crowd grew quickly and you can see the places is a bit mismanaged. An awkward non existent waiting area and general confusion. Our waitress must have been new we had to call her and coax her the ENTIRE way. Their water tasted like mold. So we were not off to a great start. We had to ask the waitress to bring the salad (which was a nice size with mixed greens but a little heavy on the dressing). We had to ask again about the food after a 20 minute wait She came over and said the sushi is done do you want that now? Well duh no I rather wait to eat sushi and hot food together. She brought out our separately ordered rolls on 1 plate. I asked for mine to be cut to 8 instead of 6, they tried but it so a little misshapen. We like that they had sushi and Korean menus. Their roll choices lacked creativity and tasted equally as uninspired. Yunes roll (their namesake for goodness sake!) was completely average & nothing special. Spicy Bulgoki (which to our waitresses only credit was brought without additional reminders) was good, not greasy but not great. Our waitress passed our table 3 additional times without looking over, asking if we needed anything or if everything was ok. As she tried to sneak past the fourth time, I hailed her down to ask for the check. Another waitress, seeming to sense our annoyance took mercy on use and checked us out. I will be completely honest, I was very close to giving this 5 stars. I sure wish there was a .5 start option as this would definitely be 4.5 stars. This is by far the BEST sushi restaurant we have tried since moving here. I pretty darn good beer selection, really good fried rice, and the sushi is great! Oh, and by the way, they give you this really good fried chips basket with a sweet and sour type sauce for an appetizer. Their service was good and really just overall pleased with our selection for our date night. We will definitely be making this drive more frequently to get some really good food.
