For our business, requested routine installation of key fob system for office door (a Keri doors system). Warman Security was not knowledgeable, requiring 5 on site visits to complete. Worst experience I've had. On the phone was not advised of their outrageous prices. They then gave me an hour window, which the person missed. I had to call them twice before the person showed up. It ended up being a relatively small job, pulling a key out with some pliers, which took all of two seconds, after which the guy smirked and then said you know it costs extra on the weekend. I ask to speak to the owner and he was very unhospitable on the phone, not willing to hear me out. Will never use them again. read more

Warman sold me a dead battery for my security system. I didn't realize it was bad until the security system technician from AAA Home Security came out and tested the entire system and determined the replacement battery was the problem. When I went to return the battery to Warman, they tested it and confirmed it was bad, but they said they have a no return policy on "electronics". I am out the $40 for the battery plus the security company service call cost, not to mention all the time I wasted. Terrible business practice on Warman's part. I will never go back. read more

There are some chores that are just inherent pains in the ass to me. Getting the car serviced, rolling the garden hose up, and yes, having spare keys made. Granted, it's mostly a mental block on my part, but having keys made always seems like it takes too much time and on occasion, requires multiple trips due to incorrect copying. I wish every unloved chore was as easy as having keys made at Warman. It's done in a matter of minutes, and it's done cheaply and perfectly. Parking is generally easily accessible on the street, and you're in and out of there tout suite. read more

Really nice guys working the shop, Frank in particular! I called in and asked if they would be able to simply break open the helmet lock box on the back of my scooter that some wonderful idiot tried unsuccessfully breaking into the night before. Said I didn't need any lock replacement done, just cracking it open to get out my helmet. They said come on over, would just charge me $25 bucks to crack it. Went on over - the front desk guy came and gave it a quick whirl - couldn't get it so asked Frank to come from the back and Frank jimmied it open in 3 minutes! When I asked what the damages were for cracking it open he said, "Don't worry about it" YOU KIDDING ME? I'm from Wisconsin - having a generous Midwestern moment in SF is a rarity (been here 9 years) and Frank just made my day! Will be back anytime lock needs arise for sure! Thanks guys! read more

My story is nearly identical to Miriam's. My boyfriend and I moved to a new apartment, but were only given one key for the mailbox, naturally we wanted two. So, first I went to Brownies. The key guys looked a bit confused, but after a few minutes of discussion, they agreed on how to copy the key. I took it home, but it didn't work. The second time, I took it to Cole Hardware because it's right next door to where I work, and similar story, the key people looked a little concerned, but made me a key anyway. And again I took it home and the mailbox wouldn't open. I'd never had a problem with keys from hardware stores, so I gave up and called my landlady for an extra mailbox key. She said, just make a copy, to which I replied, um, yeah, tried that, not working so well. She said, silly girl, go to the locksmith place on Sacramento Street. I said UGH! I already went to two places! She said that's who made all the keys for the building, so they should know what to do. So, I walked in to Warman's, a bit frustrated, and asked the young man at the counter for help. He said no problem (not even a slightly confused look on his face) and came back minutes later with a key. I was a little concerned cause the key he handed me was a different color and style than the original, so me being already annoyed, copped an attitude and said, "So, is this thing actually going to work cause I've been to two key places already and those keys haven't worked." He assured me it would, and said if it didn't he'd personally give me a refund and an extra $20. I got home eager to test it and win an extra $20, but alas, the key worked! A miracle and an end to my mailbox frustrations. So, 5 stars to Warman's for having a wonderful guarantee and for being my new favorite key place. read more

I needed help with a clients door. My contractor was trying to grind down the kick plate on the door because the doors were scraping on it. Silly man, what needed to happen was the hinges tightened. These guys are amazing. I called in to get service on our building intercom system that was not working anymore. They gave me an estimate over the phone. When I called back to schedule the service, they were able to send someone out the next day. They guy arrived on time. He was very nice and professional. Great repeat service from Warman . They scheduled for work within a few hours of request, replaced lock with Medeco lock ( cannot be picked or duplicated at normal key cutters) and provided excellent customer service. Call scheduler Dia and you will find great service. read more

AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!!!! Our condominium uses Warman. They take every opportunity they can to nickel and dime us. They were asked to fix a couple doors, $9000+ dollars later was the result. Clearly they performed unnecessary work. We had another company service our doors just 6 months earlier and the doors were fine. On another occasion they completely broke one of door locks. Absolutely rude customer service as a returning customer. Reluctant answers by phone call. Couldn't locate the power source of their own system then made rude comments to make it feel like it was our responsibility to know how the system they installed worked or where the power source was coming from. It was obvious that they make no notes or reference to previous repairs or installation files. Phone call to initiate the service was rude and reluctant. I wish we never went with this vendor for our office intercom and doorbell system. We paid over $150 for a service call that took 15 minutes to replug a machine they installed in the ceiling. Which took them 15 minutes to locate because the company does not communicate where and how these systems are installed for their internal files. Will hopefully never deal with them again. I have been consistently pleased with Warman over many years and different houses They dealt with rekeying and replacing locks on my past two houses - quickly responding, showing up on time and prepared, and even making sure they wore shoe covers. The work done has always been completed with care to detail Most recently I upgraded a very old lock set on a door from 1937. The person who came out did a careful assessment of the door and what would be needed. He had t order parts and those came in very quickly. He took pains to insure the door was not damaged and that the new hardware would fit correctly and look right. I've seen jobs like this done where the door was marred or ended up looking wrong when done. Very pleased again! read more

Warman security is the worst possible security company in the entire Bay Area. Do not hire this company to install any security system whatsoever. We had just recently installed a brand new system through warman security in a new apartment building. Over the course of three weeks since the system has been installed, an iPad was stolen off the location (before any tenants were allowed into the apartment building), the cameras had failed more than 5 times, and they claimed it was because of system updates. Not the case. System updates don't cause security cameras to stop recording for more than four days. Now they have to come and install a completely new system. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE TO INSTALL ANY SECURITY SYSTEM WHATSOEVER. If you value your safety and belongings, do not look to them for security. read more

Can't really write a service review, so sorry in advance for pulling the ratings down. Truth is, I had several phone calls with them and they really didn't appear to want my business. At first I though it was because I was a residential job and they prefer big corporate gigs. I called asking about a premium product, one they are exclusive dealers for in SF. They literally talked me out of it. These guys have some things to learn about customer service. I don't like feeling like I have to deal with sketchy sales people when I call a service organization. I want someone who returns calls when they say and shows up when we make appointments. So far, I have had weak experiences with these guys. Frankly, I gave up. I have rotten luck with Warman so all these glowing reviews confuse me. I first used them about two years ago. They gave me a two hour window then failed to show. The second time, just over a week ago, they showed up 20 minutes after the two hour window had elapsed and then didn't have the proper lock set and so had to go back to their workshop to pick it up. They are also really expensive. Each call costs $69.00 just to show up, plus $96.00 labor. Bad service + high cost = not worth it. Cassidy Locsksmith is much better (I would have used them last time but they were on vacation). read more

Locked my self outta my apartment today, so I looked up lock smith on yelp. My wife has used this company in the past so I knew the name and gave them a call. Spoke to a gentlemen who answered the phone and asked if they did lock outs. Sure he said, and transferred me to dispatch. I had the old lock from my 1952 Hammond organ, and I had no key. The lock appeared functional, so I wanted to keep it on the organ so that nobody messes with my drawbar settings. I called about 20 places in town, nobody wanted to touch this thing. Sometimes they said, "bring it in, we'll take a look." and then they said, "Nope, sorry!" So, I finally got to the end of the alphabetical lists of locksmiths in SF, and Warman was there. I called, they said, sure, bring it in. I was skeptical....that's what lots of people said to me before rejecting me and my lock. Guy took a look at it, said "Sure. might be expensive, but we can do it. When do you need it?" I was kinda shocked, not expecting that answer. I said, whenever you can have it ready, just call me. Sure enough, 3 days later, got the phone call. $23, and I got 2 keys for my vintage lock that work perfectly. I don't think that is expensive. Now I know where to go, I won't have to waste time anymore shopping around. place has been around for many many years, and I am sure they will be around for a long time from now. read more
