The office has a modern and welcoming vibe, making every visit a pleasant one. The front desk staff is always nice and friendly, and the opticians (shout out to Laura & Pim) are super professional, especially when it comes to helping patients choose the right style. One of my favorite things is the wide selection of frames they offer. I noticed the office incorporated newer brands and a variety of styles and colors than before. I ended up going with a Silhouette, while my partner picked an Oakley. I highly recommend checking this place out if you need eye care; you won't be disappointed!

I have been at this practice for ten years but am leaving after having been subject to her rude, dismissive treatment during two recent visits. The poor ladies at the front desk clearly live in terror of this new optician and the vibe is really sad in there, to see how she treats them and how she treats the patients. I decided to follow Mindy, the previous optician, to her new practice Oculus, in South Pasadena. Mindy is the smartest, kindest, most competent optician I've ever seen and I have already called for my first appointment at Oculus, where it was such a breath of fresh air to call and talk to friendly people who clearly enjoy working there.

It's been a struggle finding a place with good "bedside manner" service and one that does not constantly upsell on services and glasses. My insurance recently changed and I had to pick a new optometry spot. I chose this one due to location, but did not know much about it. When I first walked in I was amazed at how enormous the place is. You cannot even see end to end. The selection of glasses is huge and I have never seen so many options in one shop. One of the staff members mentioned they are the largest optometry shop in the West Coast. The staff treated me so well, from reception to the two team members and the optometrist. I got the feeling that they cared. The optometrist was generous with the care received and ended up referring me to an opthalmologist to get something checked out, before I return to redo my eye exam. Overall I am very satisfied.

The dr. spotted something on the pictures, and wanted to double check so had more pictures and found two holes in my retina. Went to a retina specialist and had the holes lasered. I've been seeing Dr. Chang for about 7 years now, great doctor always a good experience…read more My contact lens prescription expired 3 months ago (apparently they only are good for one year) and I just wanted to reorder another box until my next annual appointment in a few months. I looked up that sometimes they can do a courtesy extension of the prescription if your vision has been stable and have no issues. I asked for such an extension but was told multiple times I would have to get another contact lens exam for $160 (out of pocket) in addition to the cost of the lenses. I think that as a long time patient they should be able to accommodate such an easy request, since I would be getting my annual exam soon again anyway. It's not easy to schedule an unnecessary exam especially with a busy schedule, just to get a box of contacts. Bottom line loyalty doesn't seem to count here and maybe it's time to switch optometrists.
