I showed up unannounced with a serious issue (ignition switch failure) ... I could not shut the car off (as I would have remained stranded wherever I'd parked it). I pled my case to the owner and he said they were booked but would get to it later in the week with a diagnosis. I could tell they were familiar with the usual issues and I left confident. It turned out to be relatively simple. They expedited the repair on my car and it was, in fact, completed _before_ I'd even managed to make it back home. Same day. Additionally, as I had disassembled most of the steering column in search of a resolution, the shop charged approximately .10 of a billable hour of labor. I thought it was a typo. Not a billable hour or half-hour of labor but about .10 of an hour. Additionally, they retained the original defective part and provided it upon my return. If you have a "vintage" BMW of any sort (or modern, for that matter) do not hesitate to contact this shop.

The receptionist was clueless and wouldn't even let me speak to a service advisor at the Gilbert & Pecos location. I was told my only option was a a $98 diagnostic fee. Then I called APA and spoke with Drew. He explained that their diagnostic fee was similar, but more importantly, walked me through a few things they would try before even going that route. The diagnostic would be a last resort. That alone made a huge difference. When I dropped the car off, he offered me a ride home. I declined and stayed nearby, but the gesture stood out. When I checked back in later, they told me the issue was something super minor - and they fixed it for under $60. Had I gone with that Toyota dealer, I would have paid the diagnostic fee, and who knows what they would have charged for the remedy. Always always read reviews...The Toyota Dealer off Gilbert Road, has reviews showing concerns about repair practices & pricing. The sales side received great reviews, the repair side faces challenges. Bottom line: Drew and APA earned my trust. If I have any future car problems, I know exactly where I'm going. Dishonest Diagnosis, Disrespectful Response -- Avoid This Shop…read more APA Total Car Care has a "D-" rating with the BBB as of this review. Do you really want them working on your car? I brought my Tundra into APA Total Care Care (yes, it's misspelled on their invoices, diagnostics, media) for an A/C refrigerant leak diagnosis--something already confirmed by the Toyota dealer, who had added UV dye to help in the detection. I have no idea what they charged me for. It wasn't UV dye leak detection that's for sure. Instead of checking for dye or leaks, APA tried upselling me the exact same service (evacuate/recharge with dye) for 50% more--claiming the dye wasn't there. I later filmed the dye clearly visible under UV light myself. They also managed to cause damage while poking around. See the video. Their "inspection report" was just an automated upsell list, with no mention of the A/C issue I brought it in for (as shown on their own invoice). When I pressed the service manager for answers, he became aggressive. The owner's public reply on Google doubled down with personal attacks, called my wife and me "immature," and never addressed the video proof I shared. That response says more about their professionalism than I ever could. I challenged the owner to prove my wife and I were screaming and yelling, but you guessed it, there is no such evidence even though they have video cameras all over their lobby. I've posted video and photo evidence. If you value honesty, keep looking.

I spoke with Jay and he answered all my questions on the phone and when I dropped off the car, he made sure to walk me through what the scope of work was and discussed any additional options. I have a convertible and also elected to go with their protection treatment for the cloth top as well. Jay then gave me a quick shop tour and took me in the back check out the facility and some of the cars they were currently working on. The shop is so clean I would have no issues eating off the floor... literally. Got the call that the car was done and WOW. I couldn't believe it was the same car. Keep in mind the car only had 600 miles on it, but it looked like something on the floor at SEMA. It SPARKLED. Nothing looks as good as a clean black car and well... this was insanely immaculate. I forget the name of the tech that actually did the work on my car, but he was an absolute perfectionist. He was out there making sure every spec of dust or spot was gone, even during the delivery. I did a Google search for companies that offered PPF and ceramic coating services. There were several in the area that had high 4 and 5 star reviews. Most of them let you request a quote through their website. There were a couple that had "call for a quote." I groaned a little as it was late at night and would have to call them the next day. In total, I reached out to 5 companies. Two never responded, another emailed me a quote, another blew up my phone with text messages and then there was AZ H.E.A.T. They were one of the companies that had "call for a quote." I called and spoke to Kyle. I told him what I was looking to do and he made suggestions. He educated me and took the time to answer all my questions. He also shared the company history. It's a family-owned business, him and his brother. I liked that, as I too had been involved in a family business. Kyle really seemed to want my business. I wasn't quite ready to commit as I wanted to get other quotes. He asked if he could follow up with me in a couple of days, I said sure. During this time, I tried to contact some of his competitors who hadn't followed up with me. I also texted Kyle a couple of questions about the process and whether or not I should add a tonneau cover and decals prior to being treated. He answered all my questions in a timely manner, even though I hadn't committed to using his company. The quotes I received were very similar with some claiming to have a special price that would expire at the end of the week. I said to myself, if Kyle follows up with me when he said he was going to, I would go with AZ H.E.A.T. Sure enough, after a couple of days, he called me. We scheduled the appointment and I brought the car in at the end of the day. They parked the truck inside and began working on it the next day. It took about 1.5 days to complete the full frontal PPF and 7-year ceramic coating treatment. When I went to pick it up, it was parked diagonally in front, and it looked amazing! Kyle and his brother Brett went over everything they did and what I should do to keep it looking like new. They also said to call if I had any questions. I sent them a detailed message explaining EXACTLY what I wanted done to my Mustang -- full exhaust setup, how I wanted it mounted, clamps, O2 bungs, everything. I literally did their job for them and made it easy. All I asked for was a rough price range before driving OVER AN HOUR to their shop. Not an exact quote. Just a simple "around this much depending on fabrication." Any decent shop can give a ballpark estimate. Instead, they ignored most of my message, barely communicated, wouldn't answer straight, and kept pushing me to drive all the way over there just for them to look at the car for 10 minutes. I called multiple times and it felt like they genuinely did not care about wasting my time. Then they acted like what I was asking was unreasonable and basically said no shop in Arizona would do what I wanted. Funny enough, less than 10 minutes later I found another shop that actually knows how to communicate, gave me a price, and scheduled me immediately. What made it even worse was seeing them joke on Instagram stories about "if you're not a good customer we don't want to work with you." Meanwhile I was being EXTREMELY clear, respectful, transparent, and serious about spending over $1,000 with them. So if THIS is how they treat someone trying their best to be a straightforward customer, imagine how they'll treat everyone else. Communication was trash, customer service was trash, and they lost themselves an easy customer because of their ego.

He is highly professional, knows exactly what he's doing, and quickly pinpointed the real issue with my exhaust system. I had failed the emissions test with a P0420 code, which usually means the catalytic converter needs replacing. I went to several VVRP-authorized auto shops for quotes, and all of them told me I'd need to leave my car for 2-3 days, with repair estimates ranging from $2,500-$4,500. The problem? My car is only worth about $2,000! Rosco turned out to be a lifesaver. Using his diagnostic tools, he determined it was only a sensor issue. The part cost just $100, and he replaced it in about 5 minutes. After driving 75 miles on the highway, my car passed the emissions test without any problem. It's rare these days to find an honest and ethical mechanic, but Rosco is exactly that. Go here first--you'll get a clear, honest diagnosis and save yourself from breaking your wallet. I am a home healthcare provider and my car is my lively hood in this career as I drive 25k mi per year. So in addition to brakes this visit he also swapped out spark plugs which ended up being an involved project based on their location on the vehicle. Pretty sure they were the original ones from 180,000 miles ago! We came up with a plan regarding maintenance of the coolant and transmission fluid at a future date as they were looking fine at the moment.
