I had my Audi Q7 towed to Huff's Automotive early Monday morning after losing my power steering over the weekend. I called first thing that same morning to let them know and they were very accommodating on short notice and took note of all my concerns. They diagnosed the problem within hours and sent me a text message to provide me with an update since my voicemail box was full [I do that on purpose ;)]. They also reviewed my entire vehicle and notified me of a couple other minor problems that I authorized for repair. My vehicle repair was completed the next day and sent me text notification of completion. Huff's explained that they had reviewed the entire system to make sure it was operating maximally.l and notified me of items to watch in the upcoming days. When I came to retrieve my car, they were attentive, quick and helpful. They explained the problem and showed me the failed part. I will return with future repair needs on my Audi. read more

I wish we had read the reviews before we decided to take our Mercedes SUV to Huff. It was a mistake that I hope others do not make to think this establish is knowledgeable about Mercedes vehicles. They quoted us over the phone $450-500 for replacing the battery on my 2020 GLE 350 and once I took it in and they examined it they said it was going to be $720 because the battery is "very difficult to get to". Huff Automotive claims to be Mercedes specialists but the guys didn't even know that the battery on a Mercedes SUV is under the driver's seat so they justified the extra couple hundred dollars due to the difficulty (surprise to them) of accessing the battery. It is beyond my understanding that they can claim to be Mercedes specialists but were/acted so surprised and even added on an extra couple hundred dollars to replace a battery that they clearly had no business doing in the first place if they didn't know where is was located before they saw it. This place may be good for you to take your Civic to for service, but they don't know Mercedes. Also - they won't "put your car back together" after checking your battery unless you pay them $100. Probably one of the worst experiences I've had with an automotive repair center. Initially went to Huff's because someone I worked with had heard they specialize in European cars. After doing a little bit of digging, I thought it would be a good opportunity to establish a relationship outside the Mini dealer with ongoing maintenance repairs. I have a 2017 Countryman F60 and have diligently maintained this car from day one, brand new. Currently the car has 94,000 miles. So the vehicle went into Huff's on 4/1/24 for a coolant and oil leak in addition to lower control arms bushings needing replacement, at the time the car had 84,000 miles. I also had them service the transmission fluid. Them being the experts, I wanted to ask questions. I was very adamant about not having aftermarket parts on the car. They just don't mix well as being an owner on previous German cars. Repairs were completed, it was probably 6 months after I started hearing a click when the car would go over speed bumps or dips in road. It wasn't consistent enough at the time which brought me to where I am now. Mini in Tempe has done 90% of the work on the car, maintenance being all up to date. I took the car to them on 2/5/25 and they did a complete vehicle inspection, found that aftermarket bushing/brackets were installed and the control arms were never replaced. I learned there are non serviceable pivot bushings on the control arm. Based on mileage, year, and fact the arms are recommended always to replace when doing bushings. The sound that I was getting and progressing was the pivot bushings in the control arms. Huff's failed at being the experts in this scenario. 1. They failed to inform me they were installing an aftermarket part on my vehicle. 2. They should have identified that the bushings and control arms work in unison and recommend replacing. 3. Mike (owner) was very defensive and dismissive to holding accountability. 4. When calling back to reply to Mike directly about the fact he has lost my trust and a customer, he didn't want to hear anymore and hung up on me. So I'm out $1,000 for repairs that weren't done correctly and aftermarket parts installed. Customer satisfaction, reputation, resolution of issues, professionalism, future interactions all applied to what was not successful in gaining a customer for life. Never again for me, I didn't have a totally shocking $3500 for a job they did a while ago, so I had to apply for credit to pay for it, I was expecting no more than $1500. She could not give me a quote about battery replacement and her rough estimate was even more than the rough estimate at the dealership. My wife and I have a 20-year-old classic Jaguar XJ8L. It gets more difficult to find mechanics who can and will work on a vehicle this old. Even the Jaguar dealerships in Chandler and Scottsdale won't work on a Jag that is over 10 years old. We've been going to Huffs Automotive for a couple of years now and are very pleased with the results. I took the Jag over to them for a brake job and to find out why it had a slight misfire. We agreed that it was time to change the spark plugs, but this didn't cure the misfire. The diagnostic will explain the problem, such as running lean, but not the cause, and as the car is now 20 years old with parts wearing out, there are quite a few different causes to eliminate, and this one turned out to be tricky. Mark, who is one of the owners, put in a lot of hours with his technicians, for some of which he didn't charge me, as he was determined to find the misfire problem. It turned out to be faulty fuel injectors, he ended up changing all eight of them, and it's now running smoothly with no problems. There were four other Jaguars in the parking lot either waiting to be serviced or picked up, so if you have a Jaguar that needs to be serviced, or have a problem, I recommend Huffs Automotive in Chandler. read more

Horrible customer service and poor quality of work!!! This place is the absolute worst and never going back. I took my Range Rover and they screwed up a simple oil change and the whole oil sprayed all over the engineer and leaked on my garage floor within a week! I had to have the car towed and they had obviously screwed up and gave my credit for tow, and wouldn't say why that happened and my trust was already low in these guys because they wouldn't even admit to why the leak happened and what they did wrong. I go back for an AC check a month and this Michael starts saying it may cost certain amount or twice that depending on your model, and I said ok let me know before you do anything as I want to check what I need to do, and he confronts me in a condescending tone saying why you don't trust me? I told I don't appreciate his tone and when I drop the keys on the counter he get mad say they were not nicely placed but dropped on the counter. I was dumbfounded as I didn't even think twice before leaving keys on counter if I was dropping them there or placing them there. Then be says I don't want to work on your car , and his Buddy chimes In with an F bomb on the customer and says get the hell of out here! Wow!!! Unbelievable Huff employees have zero customer experience skills and lack basic etiquette how to talk to customers. They have a staff of experienced mechanics & technicians who specialize in European vehicles. Their pricing is very competitive relative to high-cost dealerships. It is a family-owned business, and they take care of you as if you were one of their own. They do what needs to be done and check to ensure everything is in working order. Huffs auto is a complete rip-off. Darren didn't want to say anything to me when I picked up car so I'm speaking here on yelp. He and Mike clearly over-charged me for services rendered. Do not use this place for car maintenance. I dropped my car off, it was having problems. I told them what part might be the problem beforehand trying to be helpful. (Unbeknownst to them, I'm a master mechanic and didn't feel like working in the heat on a car) Huffs informed me I was right, they found a bad part causing the problem and they would order the part from the dealer for $1500. I researched and found a part which was only ~$200 bucks and told Huffs it was in stock and where to get it. (Again, I'm a mechanic and have worked with this parts distributor and many other part stores in the area). Huffs told me the part must be the wrong part and they know best and it's also prob not in stock?! (Well which is it? Not in stock, wrong part, or other). Darren proceeded to rattle off every excuse in the book for why the part I found they couldn't used. (Again, I'm a master mechanic). Ultimately, Huffs Auto charged me $1300 for the part and $1600 in labor to R&R one part for a total of $2900 bucks. Part change time was 1.5hrs according to national auto standards. I don't know any auto mechanic which makes $800 an hours. Do you? The bill should have been $500 max plus parts&labor. I'll never use this place ever again. Previous negative comments on this site are accurate. Avoid at all costs. As of today, the car still has same issue. Therefore I explained to him this has never happened on my watch. He stated they cannot do Anything about it.... furthermore, If I don't remove my vehicle He will get it towed... He then proceeded to slam the hood of my vehicle like he owned it... witnessing this delinquency, I cursed at the top of my lungs, (extremely rare behavior on my part)... and dared him to demonstrate such unprofessional criminalizing behavior while I film it... He immediately began to retrace the very same steps he did, and re slammed the hood of my vehicle. Inquiring if I had my camera on....a 2nd time. I was referred to Huffs Automotive by my shop. They dont like working on Mini Coopers, and they referred Huffs to me. I was able to make an appointment for the next day, and that surprised me. They had an opening come available, and I took it. I dont have a vehicle scanner yet, so I was guessing what was wrong with my new used Mini Cooper S misfire on cold start-up. I went through several youtube videos, and it was all over the place on what to fix. Im usually a DIY home mechanic and enjoy the challenge of working and maintaining my cars. But, the price of European parts keeps you from exploring. So I threw in my grease rag on this misfire issue and sought professional help that works on euro trash! Well, they figured it out with a scan tool and diagnosed it as a high-pressure fuel pump expiring and needing to be replaced. I follow up on this with several youtube videos and back up their diagnostic conclusions. So I asked how much it would cost to repair it. $2,171.05 Wow, the fuel pump costs about $1,200, and the rest is labor. I kicked myself in the butt for not having a scan tool; I easily could have repaired this issue by replacing the fuel pump. But Huffs Automotive did a fine job. The car runs as it should, and pleased with how fast it was received and returned to me running great. The only issue here is the cost, and all my fords would be only a third of the repair Cost. Im not completely surprised by what it would cost. I own a BMW motorcycle, and the repair bill resembles the Mini. But, my last words here are they seem to be honest and did good work quickly. I would use them again if I get cornered again. But Im buying a scan tool to help in future DIY repairs. Owning Mini Coopers is an expensive toy to keep around, but they are fun to drive. As I sit here, ready to fill out and Arizona Registrar of Contractors complaint form, my wife stopped me and said, "no, I wouldn't let those losers near my car again". 1. They replaced the driver side sun visor, and told us that they original color is now longer available. 2. When Mike Huff drove it back to us(Covid free delivery) the overhead light panel was broken, but he said they would order another one and he would just pop it in. When they didn't respond to my inquiries, after a year, I ordered a overhear light panel, and found out the original color(orion gray) is still available in all parts. I asked Mike, and desk person Darren, to order a new orion gray visor, and to replace the light panel is purchased. Still no response. Terrible Service and the Owner Made the Mechanic Pay for the Damages! Stay AWAY! I am deeply disappointed with the level of service provided by Huffs Automotive. As a loyal customer who has spent over $15,000 at their shop within the past year, my recent experience has left me utterly dissatisfied and concerned for the safety of my family, particularly my 16-year-old son. In May, we visited Huffs Automotive to have the rear differential of my son's car repaired. However, just three weeks after the repair, we noticed that the rear tires were completely bald and the wheels were severely misaligned. It was evident that the shop had either failed to align the tires properly or had not done it at all after replacing the rear differential. This negligence on their part forced us to replace five-month-old tires, incurring additional expenses. We returned the car to Huffs Automotive to address the issue, and they initially demanded that we pay for the realignment, despite their clear oversight. Reluctantly, they eventually agreed to align the tires free of charge. However, even after their second attempt, the alignment was still not done correctly. As a result, the back end of the car continued to slip, creating a hazardous driving situation, especially for my young son. The most alarming part of this entire ordeal was when we took the car to another shop to get new tires. To our disbelief, they discovered that a bolt holding the lower control arm was hanging out approximately 1 1/2 inches. It was astonishing that Huffs Automotive failed to notice this glaring issue during the rear differential replacement and subsequent alignment. This blatant disregard for safety not only put my son's life in danger but also raises serious questions about the competence and attention to detail of their mechanics. When we approached Huffs Automotive to be reimbursed for the cost of the tires, they shockingly made the mechanic personally pay for the $800 tires out of his own paycheck. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable and demonstrates a complete lack of accountability on the part of the shop. It is their responsibility to ensure the quality of their work and address any mistakes or oversights promptly and professionally. Not only that throughout this ENTIRE ordeal the OWNER of the place NEVER once called us personally to apologize or see how we could make this right. In conclusion, my experience with Huffs Automotive has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their inability to properly align the tires, their failure to detect obvious issues during the repair, and their lack of accountability for their mistakes have shattered my trust in their services. I'm not sure what to rate this business just yet. I have an LR3. I needed some work on it. I was told if this place by another mechanic who does not fix Range Rovers. I got a new sensor for my break light. I got a tire rotation and alignment-I think. I took a very long road trip back to Atlanta and on my drive I noticed my hood kept shuttering as if it were going to open while driving. I pulled over -pooped the hood-and a stranger came over to assist me with shutting the hood completely. Come to find out, my fender is broken . Now, I must push my fender in and hold it in while closing my hood. I'm not happy. I am hoping Huff will replace my fender or something. It is cracked. It was fine before I took it to Huff. I'm still very upset and frustrated with my car continuing to leak oil, after we took it in for that oil leak and have now taken it in 3 times since that oil leak with the same problem. I'm even more frustrated after my call yesterday.. I don't think he understands. My concern is that I took my car to you last year and had an oil change done, plus extra services that was told would be good for my vehicle. My car already had the oil leak prior to that and we were quoted a price to fix it. We decided not since I was going to get a new car. Fast forward to February....and with it not being the best time to buy cars since the demand was too high. We decided to fix the oil leak. We took it back to Huff and paid the $1500 to get the oil leak fixed. It wasn't fixed. The oil leak was still the same. I took the car back and was told it is just old residue that is still leaking since it was so much. I was told they power washed to get all the oil off but to give it a few days before I park on the carport. I believed this. My car continued to leak oil and when it stopped being cold I could see the car still had a steam/smoke coming off and the smell of the burning oil. We called in April and made another appointment. I took my car in last week and was told I had a different oil leak. I paid $150+ which was $80 of labor and was told it could also be something else. The smoke is still there, the oil is still leaking and the smell has never went away. I called yesterday extremely frustrated. I don't feel he understood my feelings. He said there could be many oil leaks. My frustration comes where I have the same exact problem that I had when I took my car in last year (which I chose not to fix) and then again in Feb, which I decided to fix and paid a large price of $1500 to fix it. The leak has not lessened, the smell has not stopped and it has not gotten better. I park under a metal parking piece on my carport. There is not oil all over it. The oil is in the same spot prior to you fixing it. My frustration is did I need the repair of the $1500 since it did not fix or lessen the oil spills which was the reason why I took it to you in February for. My frustration is when I am told it is something else I am paying labor each time. I don't understand this. What was fixed last week that cost me $150 did not fix or lessen the oil leak. I don't understand why I'm told each time it is fixed. When I first went to Huff's I spoke with the owner. I immediately felt like I found my new place to take my vehicle. I felt comfortable, I felt like he was honest and loved listening to his story. I immediately called my family since they own range rovers and referred huffs. On a recent overnight trip to Arizona (to pick up our daughter from ASU), I knew we'd need an oil change on our Mercedes ML prior to making the run back to Orange County, CA., as I didn't have time to address servicing the car beforehand. I arrived in Arizona late on a Thursday afternoon and did a quick google for a list of European mechanics to call. When I called Huff's and explained my situation, the receptionist was extremely helpful saying if I could get there first thing in the morning, they would take me right away. She ordered my oil filter and had it waiting when I arrived the next morning (an appreciated plus!). As promised, they took my car back within minutes of my arrival and had my servicing completed in about 40 minutes. We're very picky about who services our Mercedes and are focused on following Mercedes recommendations for materials, fluids and service intervals- Huff's was experienced and knowledgeable about our car, knowing exactly what was required. Not being a regular client of Huffs, I really appreciated the receptionist's willingness to accommodate my oil change needs; let's face it- there's not a ton of profit in oil changes, even on the European cars. However, with 3 years of trekking back and forth to Arizona still in front of me, it's great to have a trusted mechanic in Arizona for our Mercedes. read more

I went to Huff's to get an oil change that I pre-scheduled and arrived at 8 AM and my car wasn't done until 12:30pm. They needed to order a $50 part which caused the delay. I had to take Lyft to my appointment at noon which was a scheduled doctor's appointment--when I got back to pick up the car I let them know as a customer that I didn't appreciate the delay and suggested that they get an ETA from their parts vendor to set expectations as people have other things to do besides sit at an automotive shop waiting for a part to show up 4 hours later. After I paid and was about to leave in my car the owner's son ran up to me and knocked on my window to talk to me and made me feel as if THEY were doing ME a FAVOR by ordering this part for MY car. And after I told him that I PAID FOR PRICE THE SERVICE, he told me to not come back to the shop. VERY unprofessional and a TOTAL ENTITLED BRAT who thinks he can talk to customers anyway he feels like because his daddy owns the place. They do crappy work anyway as people have warned me previously about this place waiting long time and having to come back to fix work that they did wrong. read more

Darren had helped me get my AC recharged for $150 and even cut me a better deal for $117 due to how quick they got it done. AC blew ice cool for NOT EVEN 5 minutes and then it blew HOT, I then noticed my engine was steaming, I had to pull over and check it out. These guys were actually really cool. My 2011 Range Rover engine randomly blew up with only 65k miles on it and these guys assessed the damage and what it would take to fix it. Unfortunately, I'm forced to take it to the dealership in North Scottsdale(who have been less than friendly) because I've filed a complaint with Land Rover USA and I'm seeking a complimentary engine. There's no reason why a car's engine that's been well maintained should just die. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic. Brought my vehicle in at the advice of another shop. Dropped off my car at 9 am. Was called at around noon and told that my compressor was bad and would cost $1700 to replace. I did not have the funds for the repair right now and told them I would pick up the car today. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told that the fee for the diagnosis was $199. I was shocked. Nobody at anytime told me there would be a diagnosis fee let alone $199. When I said something about it, I was told that they forgot to mention it and that I should have known there would be a fee. They continued to argue with me and insult me and finally held my car hostage till I paid. I did not have enough in my account to cover the whole thing, so they took everything I had left in my account to cover what they could. $151. Save your time and money and avoid this place like the plague. read more

This is hands down THE WORST shop around. Save yourself time, money, and heartache and take your vehicle somewhere else. This week Huff's completely messed up my vehicle. All I needed was the air conditioner fixed. (This is the 3rd time it's been in there in 2 months.) They messed up the alarm, and I was told "they aren't alarm people, then I went to turn on my headlights and they didn't work, grease was ground into my brand new seat covers. When I approached the owner about these problems they told me none of this was their fault and that it wasn't possible. Then, the actual owner asked me not to come back!!! I've spent thousands of dollars there with them. Horrible place, the owner will argue and fight with you. They are crooks, who make you feel like you are the one in the wrong. read more
