They were able to take a look at a couple of the diagnostic messages and determine my car is in good shape. They were very generous with the service provided. I would certainly bring my vehicle back for service when needed. A good experience, a clean shop, professional and knowledgeable people. I recently moved to the valley about five months ago, and as time goes by, our vehicles require maintenance. As I generally try my best to stay away from the dealership, I took to Google and Yelp reviews to find a reputable shop to perform maintenance on my vehicle. My search brought me to Import Auto Experts. Making the appointment was a strange experience. I spoke with someone named Jeannie who was very pleasant on the phone. I informed her that I wanted to schedule an oil/filter change and a battery replacement. She scheduled me and attempted to end the call (in a very professional way), but she never asked for the year/make/model of my vehicle which I thought was weird, so I spoke up and asked, as I wanted to ensure the technicians were using the parts that that I requested. After I asked, she sounded surprised at herself for not asking. No big deal at all. Within a couple hours, she called me back and asked which battery I wanted to purchase. She provided prices, but no information on the battery specifications, so I had to specifically ask. Again, not a huge deal, but I'm used to this information being given up front. Accessing the shop was easy, and there was lots of parking. Their waiting area is nothing special, but it was clean and quiet. I was the only person in the waiting area, so it was fine. If there were more than a few people in there, I don't think I'd want to sit there. Too cramped. After I checked in, I gave my keys, and they said they'd let me know when it was ready. I thought it was strange because they did not have me sign a quote before beginning the work. I thought this was required by law, but perhaps it was a state law and not applicable in Arizona. Also, if something regarding prices changes after the vehicle is in the possession of the shop, I thought they had to contact the customer to let them know of the additional costs before starting the work. Anyway, I basically went in without actually knowing the exact price for the quoted work other than the battery and battery replacement - which turned out that the quoted price I received for the battery was $130.99 and my paid invoice says that I paid $143.99. I personally don't care that much about $13, but if some people might, so that's why I'm mentioning it. I didn't speak up about it at the time as they wanted me to pay before I even saw the invoice. It's mostly on me for paying without asking to see the invoice before tapping my card. The bigger disappointments were discovered when I got home. After arriving at home, when I went to gather my things, I noticed that my seat was a little dirty. Nothing that couldn't be cleaned up with a damp towel. Then I noticed there was a dark liquid substance on my door handle. I'm thinking either the technicians hands were dirty, or perhaps the silver foil was removed from the bottle of oil near my vehicle and it splashed on it as it wasn't that much. These weren't big issues as I easily was able to clean it up myself, but the bottom line is there is clearly some lack of processes that either aren't being followed or don't exist at all. I don't take my car in for maintenance/repairs for it to have to clean up after them. Overall, the prices for my oil change and the battery swap were fair, and the work was done in a timely manner. I'll probably go back and give this place one more chance. But if the end experience is the same, I'll probably try to find another shop. read more

Ricardo is awesome! I had taken my 2008 Mercedes S 550 to him last spring after 2 certified Master Mercedes mechanics couldn't find the source for my air suspension failing. They suggested a new strut. The guys here found two leaks, $26 each for the parts and $150 in labor. The strut is almost $700. A week or so ago the car started drifting so I took it back to them and was told it had to be tie rod ends and ball joints or something like that, I really don't remember. He went as far to tell me if that doesn't fix the issue he won't charge me any labor, which was $390. Well, it didn't fix the issue and he refunded $390 to me. Turns out this time, it really was a bad strut. So Ricardo had a new one installed. As my luck would have it, the new strut failed but, Ricardo discovered it was a faulty strut and was able to warranty it. He even asked if he could keep the car a for a few days to make sure they solved ALL the suspension issues! It is also the first shop I have found that when I say I am going to wait for my car during an oil change that they actually get the car in right away and are done in 20 mins or so! I can't recommend Ricardo and his team enough! I see a one star rating for not having the correct transmission fluid. While that would be annoying, they did offer an oil change so I would ignore that rating. read more

Ricardo and his guys did an exceptional job on my BMW. There was a quick turn around time considering the amount of work that was done (Oil Pan Gasket replacement and Rack and Pinion replacement) and the price was a lot smaller than what I expected and the service and communication was top notch. However, there was a small issue that I found upon arriving at my home and after I called Ricardo to tell him about it a couple of Import Auto Experts immediately came to my home and resolved it. Even other competitors would not quote me for work once they heard I had already asked import auto, they stated they were very fair and reliable in their work and yes they were! Worst experience ever. I paid over $2000.00 to get my car back broken. I gave them 2 additional tries to make it right and it still isn't. When I told the owner that I had lost confidence in his ability to fix it correctly, he tried to put the blame on me and my car saying it was almost broken when he got it and it chose then to break making it not his fault. I could tell immediately that this operation was more concerned with integrity, customer satisfaction and quality of work than just turning a profit. Import Auto Experts is the best mechanic shop we have come across. My husband and I own a Dodge Charger and Honda Civic. We have been to several shops throughout the valley. We have been ripped off, lied to, and have had bad experiences with mechanics...until we found Import Auto Experts. Ricardo has been our mechanic for the past few years. He is VERY reasonable with his pricing, very professional, and best of all, he is honest. My husband took my car in because he thought I needed brakes. Ricardo took the tires off, checked it all out, and told my husband that my brake pads were still good and I could go several hundred miles before needing them replaced. He didn't charge us for any labor. I ended up replacing the brakes a year and a half later! Most mechanics would of changed the brakes without hesitation and charged us for something we didn't truly need at the moment. From that moment on, we have been loyal customers.
