My blower fan was intermittent. I tried to fix it myself and ended up changing out the blower fan. A day or so later the issue remained $250 dollars down the drain. Took it to my mechanic and after having it for two days couldn't figure it out but he recommend Village Auto Electric. Told me that when his crew couldn't figure out an electrical issue he told his customers to come here and their vehicles were fixed. After leaving my truck there for a few days (cause they are that busy) they fixed it. They do great work and fix what others can't. read more

How many auto repair facilities can you go to and find one that not only provides excellent service, but are also highly entertaining? While waiting for my oil change I got to meet "Fluffy" (75 lb monitor) who works there as the "complaint department". His sidekick is a boa constrictor named "Briggs". The staff there was hilarious, great conversation and I have never had such a good time at a service shop while waiting for my car. In addition to changing my oil they topped off all fluids, pumped up my tires a bit and recommended front brake pads in the future. I drove my car through a car wash on the way to work, and everything went haywire. I was able to idle it into my regular mechanic, and it turned out to be an electrical problem. They referred me to Village Auto Electric, stating that they (VAE) would get it done a lot quicker for a lot cheaper. Well, that's not how it turned out. After sitting for 3 days, they called me on Friday and told me my car was next to be looked at. Later, they called and quoted $522.00 for the repair, and I would have it back HOPEFULLY on Monday. I received a text on Monday with an attached invoice for $978. I never would have authorized that amount, considering it was a minor electrical problem, according to the first shop it was in. It's no secret that shops like this take advantage of women and more so senior women such as myself. When I voiced my dissatisfaction, the guy behind the desk, stated "well, I could go pull out all the wires and return your car the way it came in". I would consider referring them to my enemies. If I had any. Beware of this shop!! What kind of crap is that?? I would hope that the owner of this establishment will read this and call me and try to make this right. Until then,. I will never return my vehicle to this establishment, nor will I ever refer my friends or relatives. I might refer my enemies if I had any,.but I don't! Be aware of this shop. Especially if you are a female and/or a senior. Also, after he read my review, he texted me a nasty and rude reply. Who does that??? I would think that he's used to them by now. Took an old Cadillac Catera in to diagnose some issues. This was after the Cadillac dealer took our money and did nothing. These guys are great. Chose this shop to diagnose my dodge diesel with electrical issues brought it in on Feb 10th , After almost two months of them having my truck they have not been able to diagnose my truck or give me any answers owner got upset when i asked for a estimated day it would get looked at every week he would tell me the same thing with no answers or updates he then told me to get the truck and that i owed $553 for his time spent on it without making any changes to my truck or any diagnostics report same as i brought it literally. I came into this shop for a diagnostics based off there "professionalism" in electric there website states. I find it very unprofessional for them to try to charge me $553 as if it was my fault there techs are not skilled enough to figure it out. Would you guys pay a landscaper a week of work if he never accomplished anything in your lawn ? Dont think so. Just another shop trying to make a quick buck without any accomplishments. My Mercedes E55 was having electrical problems with the front seat it was stuck. They did a full diagnostic and found what the issue was it was a big job according to the internet, I researched the job before. I am so happy it is fixed and I can drive it now. Brought my car in for some electrical work. Was hoping they could find the solution to a few electrical problems. The battery was dead so we brought them another battery. I get a message from the owner that my car would not start. He said it just cranks we need to do a compression test and change the plugs it will be $250. The car ran just fine when we brought it there and drove it off the trailer. I told him its an electrical issue and the car runs fine. He said its not. I said if the compression test and plugs are not the problem will you still charge me? He said yes I don't work for free. Basically these guys know nothing at all. He got pissed and said to pick up my car. We did. Towed it home popped the hood. Connected the chassis ground and fired right up. DO NOT USE THESE CLOWNS. read more

I was referred to Village Electric from a trusted mechanic that I have used for years. The customer service they provide is top notch. I called in to check if they could help fix my car as the problem was beyond my mechanics capability. The girl who answered the phone was very professional and did a great job. She explained that she would check with the technician and let me know shortly if they could take care of the problem. After just a short time she called back and said that they would be able to take care of it and could even get me in that day! I dropped off the car and within 24 hrs they diagnosed and fixed the problem. I was very impressed with Mark ( the tech ) who was able to get my car back in tip top shape! I had this shop build a harness for my 84 cj8 scrambler when I did a moror swap. Devin and John were excellent techs that did a wonderful job, but just beware the owner he is a handful and you are just a number to him. Whatever happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE? - In this case it was customer NO service! - My car battery died. I took it to auto zone for a bench check. They charged it up and did a load test on it and told me it was fine. A few days later it was flat again. Pulled it out and put in a brand new battery and again it went flat in a short time. Okay - there's something in the system that's draining the battery. I took it to village auto electric. I walk into the shop and TRIED to talk to MARK. (The owner) That's when I got hit with the, I'm better than you, attitude. This guy made it very clear that the front office was ONLY place where I was welcome and dispatched me to the front office (50 yards away) like I was some little kid. So' okay, I go to the front office only to find a cute young thing (cheap labor) that knew nothing about cars. Handed me the work order and tells me to fill this out. A few days later, I get a call from the front office telling me my car was ready. I pay a $$$ bill that tells tell me nothing about what was wrong or what was done; so I tell her that I wanted to know what was wrong and how it was fixed. She makes a call to the shop, after which I'm told something was wrong with the radio and that the radio fuse had been pulled. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! - You fix the car by breaking the radio - without consulting with me. I get in the car and the fuse box cover is lying on the floor. RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! Village Auto Electric was the worst experience I ever had with an auto repair shop. Last summer I took my motorhome to them because it would run and then it would just quit. The owner, Nicolaas DeBruin told me they would diagnose the problem and repair what was wrong. After 9 days they called and said it was ready. When I picked up the vehicle I was presented with a $1607.33 bill. The only thing I was informed of during the repair was that the battery was dead and needed a starter. However, when I picked up the vehicle they had replaced not only the starter and battery, they also replaced the alternator and starter solenoid without my knowledge or consent. I drove the vehicle home and it completely failed. The battery was dead and the alternator failed. The battery they put in was a reconditioned battery which was the wrong size for my 460ci motor and the alternator was the wrong size alternator. The motor requires at least a 650 cca battery and they put in a 525 cca which is obviously too small. The alternator they put in was a 80 amp and that motor requires a 100 amp. Once again too small. Nice job for an auto electric company!!! Also the battery they replaced was a AAA battery and was still under full replacement warranty. They never checked to see if the battery was under warranty. Since they removed my AAA battery, they voided the warranty and I had to pay $168.40 for a new CORRECT size AAA battery. Also, when the vehicle was taken to them I was having no issues with the starting or charging systems and I have a notarized statement from another shop stating such. Village auto electric charged me 7 hours ($875.00) just for diagnostic work yet I received no description of the diagnoses was either in a written narrative on the invoice or verbally. I believe it should been explained on the invoice for my records. Thus, it is my opinion that they started replacing components until it worked. They were extremely careless in their work. Examples: 1. Forgot to replace the battery tie downs as well as a quick shut off switch for the house battery. 2. Forgot to replace a cover under the steering wheel. . 3. Left a nut driver under the hood which they blamed on AAA. However, the nut driver would not fit anything on the battery but did fit the nuts of the air box which they removed. Replace a battery solenoid but failed to remove the old one. 5. The air box was improperly reinstalled and missing two fasteners. 6. Two hoses going to the air box were not plugged in. 7. They left a screw and washer on top of the intake manifold. 8. They left a faceplate off the stereo. 9. They also blew two fuses which they blamed on me. However, I was not in possession of the vehicle when the fuses blew and I never had any previous problems with fuses. I finally got the vehicle back after three months after having to take it back twice after I originally picked it up. Total bill $2253.98. I was not at all happy with them so I took them to court in February 2018. I won the case but not in the amount I felt I was due. That being said, the amount awarded was $164.00 which to date (9/14/18) Nicolaas has refused to pay, I sent him reminder notice on May 4, 2018 which he has ignored. In my opinion, this is a reflection of his integrity as he appears to have a blatant disregard for the courts decision. NEVER AGAIN read more

Once again Nick and Joe knew what to do and how to accomplish it. I have a 1971 Ford. It's quite old but runs pretty good. My Philco AM radio never worked and there seems to be a bunch of wires just pushed behind the instrument cluster. Some of these wires seem to go nowhere. I've had this beauty for two years. So, finally took it to these guys. Joe called like he always does after he finds the problem, gave me options on how to resolve it and the cost. The front dash speaker was shot and there was no juice going to radio. I had them upgrade my speaker, antenna and Joe rerouted some of the wires and tied it up very nicely. Now I have sound! Heads up, we're looking to upgrade that old Philco real soon Joe. Thanks again. Don't let all the light rail construction on Main St keep you from giving them a try. Shop did not diagnose the issue, that is why it went to another shop and was fixed in under an hour. I have the money to fix the car, it it needs $5000 to repair it I an afford it, the problem is about shops that lie, and the owners who try to rip you off like Village Electric. Everyone should run from this shop. I would like to add that I have screen shots of Nicolaas talking trash about me verbally via facebook on November 14,2017 with him acting like a child throwing a temper tantrum and all he could do was complain that I left him bad reviews, which are valid btw. He then went to insult my family, parents, and culture, and I am American. This man welded a pulley and modified an alternator that he bought from Autzone and then proceeded to return this part as new to get a refund. He did this because he knew that the part was not the issue with my car. He is an unethical man and cannot talk out a dispute, which was his fault. I am not the first, or the last to have been yelled at and belittled from him, or seen his lies and childish behavior, he is very unprofessional. read more

Please do not waste your time and money taking your vehicle here. They do not provide customer service. They are dishonest, do not call or perform services when they say they will. They promise one thing, then do not deliver. Our car was there far longer than promised, and when I complained , the owner cussed me out and hung up on me. They then pushed my car out and after we towed it to another shop, found they had cut wiring and kept pieces of our harness. The new shop was able to fix in 1 day what Village couldn't in a week, and at a much lower price. I appreciate hard honest work and this place does not deliver that. Stay away read more

I took my wife's Durango there for an intermittent stalling problem that I was sure was an electric problem. I chose this place because of the reviews. I wish I would have taken it just about anywhere else. They diagnosed the problem as a bad PCM and told me that new ones were on a national back order with no date for when they would be available but there was a shop that rebuild computers 'down the road' and they could take it there. I agreed and they said it would take maybe a week and would call me when it was done. After many calls and being repeatedly put off I finally got the car back a month later. We paid $400 and were glad to have the car back. 3 days later the car stalled with the same problem. I took the car back and they said they wouldn't be able to look at it for a couple days. A week later with no updates I called them to check and was told that they were rebuilding the computer again.....then was told that the computer couldn't be rebuilt....then was told that they found one and installed it but now the check engine light was on and the 'new' computer was bad....then was told that they were having trouble locating another matching computer....at every step they kept telling me that they would call me back and didn't. At every step they kept telling me that it would be ready in a couple days and it wasn't. The last straw was after they had had the car for a SECOND month and that a 'new' computer was on its way and would be there that day or the following day at the latest. The following day I was told that not only was the computer not in but was in Phoenix but I would have to pony up another $120 for them to warranty their work. I told them I would not pay their extortion and to have my truck and my money ready for me to pick it up on Monday. I was told that they would only refund the $160 for the part. Then when I got there to pick up the truck on Monday the guy handed me my keys and some cash without saying a word. I counted the money....$100. When I asked where the rest of the money was I was told that that is all he got from the other shop and that Village Auto had been sold and that then new owner was out of town and didn't have to honor the warranty of the old owner....but he would check when the new owner got into town the next day. I called the next day and guess what, the new owner wasn't in town yet...but he would be in town in a couple days. I understand that stuff happens and things don't always go smoothly. I feel that I was more than patient and understanding but 2 months of being lied to and put off is a bit much for anyone to have to deal with. One last thing. When I told them I wanted my keys and money back I called a Dodge dealership and found out that, yes, the PCM is on back order but they referred me to a place that had a new one in stock. A quick google search found 3 places on the first page that had rebuilt PCM's in stock. 5 days after ordering it was on my front porch and 20 minutes later it was installed. Nobody will ever be able to convince me that after the first month they just put my original computer back in and charged me like they fixed it. I am warning everyone to stay away. read more

(service was in 2013) Where to start... 100's of dollars and 4 months of agonizing trips to and from two local auto shops could not remedy my mother's hard starting Civic. 2 days at Village Auto Electric did the trick. The shops owner, we'll call her "Winnie" cause well... That is her name, was filling in at the front desk. She was most pleasant. The price for the repair was more than reasonable. This shop was recommend by Red Mountain Tire and Auto as a go to place for when they are stumped. Just do your self a favor and go to Village Auto Electric first. read more
