Tims response is so out of his back end... he actually admitted to receiving not only the repair check but also the check for the rental... its ALL in the text messages! After receiving thousands... not repairing it... then attempting to extort more money for the unrepaired car or else he would cut it up.... ? Not sure how you can swing the narrative any other direction than what it is. The only party that was victim was us... you were 100% involved in the fraud as the check(s) were made out to you! read more

Tim went beyond customer service. It is wonderful to see people still dedicated to working and assisting others. He assisted my sister with her bumper. He was fast and really put her mind at ease. She was driving and the truck infront of her had no tailgate on his truck and a tire bounced out of it slamming into her car. She panicked and drove home and later called the police. She never jotted down the plate. It did damage to her bumper. Tim not only secured the bumper but went as far as taking the dent out himself. He could have real taken advantage and charged her an arm and a leg. He took joy in assisting someone in need. It's difficult to trust people but I can speak on my sister's experience and know he is a man of integrity. Thank you from Her sister in Indiana. read more

All I can say is AUTO PAINTING PLUS is amazing. They took my 2001 Lexus GS300 and made it look brand new. I am extremely picky and I had no complaints or comments to make about the quality of the work. Tim, Sr., even sent me pics along the way as progress updates. The price was fair and reasonable. Not to mention I got my car back in 1 week exactly to the day. I would highly recommend them. FYI: my front and rear bumpers were pretty smacked up, but not anymore you can't even tell they were damage! Excellent work guys, I am so proud to drive my car now. read more

My 1997 Toyota Avalon was in need of some TLC. Low miles great interior, everything works, tip to except for the fading paint. I found these guys on craiglist and was skeptical at first but their youtube vids and their reviews really made up for it. took in the car for a quote and was given a verbal number by Tim that i thought was fair and reasonable. it included getting a large dent out as well as replacing some door handles i had purchased on Amazon (none of this " we don't use customer supplied parts BS" a lot of other shops try to pull). I even went to MAACO for a baseline quote and was quoted something like 5-600 dollars more with a 1 year warranty. Tim gives a 5 year warranty on all his jobs! did i mention the loaner car? Almost makes it worth it alone. Little chevy Sonic. great service. A real value in my mind. Auto painting plus really cares about the customer. The end product speaks for itself! I got so many compliments on the car at work i think Tim will be getting some more business really soon! Thanks again Tim! read more

I recently had my 2003 Toyota Tacoma TRD painted by Auto Painting Plus. Having used many painters in the past, I can honestly say the paint job received is one of the best I have ever seen. Tim's expert paint services rivals any other high cost body shop in the valley....and beyond. I highly recommend Auto Painting Plus to anyone looking for a HIGH value paint job on your vehicle. read more

The reviews are hit or miss on this place and every negative review, you can see the attitude. Something I didn't get while there. So here is the low down. Normally a 300-500 paint job is a pre-sanding prep/ one color coat/ sand and clear coat. Normally with a 1000-2500, there is some body work that needs to be done and possibly a higher quality paint and getting the doors, around windows and engine compartment. This is normally the cost for a color change as they have to get around the engine bay. Just a heads up, they don't sand here. Not even between coats like you should. So they only do 200-500 paint jobs, minus the sanding between color and clear. So if your clear comes off within a week, here you go. I went in and was quoted 2000, mainly for the rust damage on the roof, this sounded about right for the extra sanding needing to be done. After I dropped it off, they recommended putting a liner down on the roof. Thinking they already sanded it and a liner would help protect it under the paint, I said ok. Turns out they mean a rhino truck bed liner. Which instead of doing the body work on the back bumper, they put it on the bumpers as well. They didn't spray on the insides of the doors or back door or engine bay. The grills clear coat was coming off within days. I told them I would sand the sides of the front bumper to remove the pits. Sent it back to get fixed, they sort of scrapped off the liner from the bumpers and sprayed over the top of it. They sprayed over the top of touch up paint previously and didn't fix it. Basically did a spray over all damage, pits and imperfections. Noticing scrapes, cracks and chips where it was smooth due to them not doing any prep work. Paid 2k for a $200 job. The paint also looks wavy and textured like a wall. Not smooth like a fresh paint should look. I just went to this place due to the good reviews, should have went to a big chain place just down the street. Best of luck to this place. Added after owner response: 1) A simple google search into cost and what is involved with each level of paint provided the descriptions above of each category. Mine fell into the 1,000-2,500 with cracks and rust on the roof that needed to be sanded. It was not that bad, all on the front that was a flat surface. The other chip near the fender that was missed and simply painted over, took 10 min to fix when I took it back. The front bumper had zero bondo and the rear had a tiny spot that you painted over after the removal of the bed liner. 2) You must sand before an initial color coat, between the color coat and the clear or you will get separation as this is what is being noticed. It also takes care of what looks like scratches that was not there previously. 3) I agreed to let you guys remove the liner on the bumper, fix the cracked paint you sprayed over and the clear that was coming off. You missed a ton of liner in the corners and left a residue and then painted over it. I believe in getting a chance to fix ones goofs and we sort of failed in that. Just letting your customers know to do all prep work before bringing it in, sand any pit marks or touch ups as you will paint right over them. I'm not mad, just stating what I experienced. We didn't talk about doors, around windows, I'm ok with not doing the engine bay, but the simple search says that is industrial standard. As a business owner, you can argue with customers, which does not look good on you, sadly I should have looked at that on your previous negative reviews. Adjust your practices to ensure you don't take jobs beyond your limited capabilities or ensure your practices are up to industry standards and charge accordingly. The 8-10k paint job you are referring to are the custom color change or metallic flakes with stripes jobs. Hopefully none of your standard customers fell for that. Sanding between processes is industry standard, if you don't sand or do prep work, own up to it. Your customers deserve to know before deciding where to get a paint job done. read more

I love how my car turned out. I called Tim received a estimate. Then I called before i dropped off my car. When i went to their shop he brought out the paint chip book and we went outside so i could see what the color really looks like in the sun. He also let me know that the paint might be a little more because of the one i picked. Totally up front. Tim gave me a estimate time when my car would be ready which it turned out to me exact. My car was a bit of a headache since i had airbrush artwork on both sides of the vehicle but Tim and his son did a great job. I read all the reviews and watched all their videos which is why i brought it to their shop. I would recommend. My car looks great. read more

WOW! Can't say enough about the father and son team here at this little paint shop. Had my sons 1997 Honda Prelude painted with these guys and what a fantastic job! Couldn't believe how reasonable, professional and courteous these guys were. Gave me a price for bodywork and paint and was spot on with no "well it's gonna cost a little more tactics". Car was done when he said it would be to the minute. Very talented painters and very affordable. Especially in a business where prices can skyrocket. And by the way, my kids car looks phenomenal! Thank you Tim and son and I will damn sure be referring you constantly. read more

I could not be happier with the EXCELLENT job that Tim Sr And Tim Jr did repainting my 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT. It is Beautiful! It is obvious that they take a great deal of pride in the work that they do and both were so pleasant to deal with. The cost agreed exactly with the estimate given and the free loaner car was a lifesaver. Definitely recommend this shop! read more

I've been looking to have one of my vehicles repainted due to damage from the sun. I did some research on these guys and figured I'd give them a shot. As always, when something / someone advertises something significantly cheaper than everywhere else, I'm a little bit skeptical, so I went down with some motorcycle fairings that needed to be painted to give them a "trial run". My first experience was with the younger Tim and he was helpful. Then, his old man came out and things went for a complete turn. He told me I was looking at about $150 for a motorcycle tail because they have a $100 minimum and the paint was expensive. Funny thing is, I was about to tell them to go ahead and do it, but older Tim couldn't keep his mouth shut and started telling me how it wasn't really worth their time and they are "slammed" and it didn't make sense to shut down the line of "thousands of dollars worth of work" just to do this and that maybe I should try Maaco down the street. (Which is understandable, but it probably wasn't the best way to make his point and not to mention he was a bit rude about it. Even his son seemed a little bit embarrassed.) Imagine dealing with that, especially if there was an issue or something. Well, as they say, "speak with your wallet". At least I know where NOT to get my car repainted. Maybe I just caught Tim Sr. on a bad day. On a brighter note, his son (The younger Tim) is very nice. read more

WOW! I am impressed with Auto Painting Plus. Was recommended by a friend for a paint job on my off-road style Tacoma. Tim Jr and Tim Sr were both very knowledgeable, patient, and detail oriented. They listened thoroughly to my needs and did an exceptional job on my truck. Kept me updated with pictures each day to show the progress of the truck. The loaner car and quick turn around time they provided were icing on top of the cake! I am going to be a returning customer and highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a quality yet affordable paint job. read more

Both Tims, senior and junior were very pleasant through the whole transaction. Junior Tim patiently helped make sure they had the unusual color I wanted. I was texted time updates and progress photos throughout the week. Upon retrieving my car, Senior Tim explained a few tidbits about the process, assured me that the clear coat is rain-ready and provided a small tub of extra paint if I need it in the future for dings. He explained how to use that too. Quick, pleasant, quality service! read more

I went here last year to get my Mustang painted Pink. The service was great and they were very helpful. My car needed a few touch ups and I was given a five year warranty. I called today to get assistance and the guy I spoke to was very rude and short. NONE of my questions were answered. He really ruined my day. I also have a business and I am REALLY big on being friendly and giving each of my customers an awesome experience. Now I probably have to look for someone else to touch up my car. SMH! read more

Tim and his son did a complete paint job for me on my vintage car. I found Tim to be reasonable and easy to work with. He listened to what I wanted to achieve with the car and made suggestions of his own when necessary. There are many fine details in erasing 45 years of use and abuse on the body of a car. While mine didn't turn out 100% perfect, I was pleased with the overall results and did feel like a lot of attention to detail was given. From little things like retapping a nut that had the threads drilled out so the hood could be reattached, to making sure the body panels lined up, and even masking original sticker on trunk lid so it could remain clean and intact. Tim's experience in the paint booth really shows as the final paint product is very clean and smooth even without a color sand or buff, but the thing I was most impressed with was the turnaround time. After having been burned by another autobody guy who held my car for over 8 months and never did finish the job, Tim and his son finished this job and had the car returned in 2 weeks! I would not hesitate to use Auto Painting Plus again on my next project. read more

Really great price! The owner is nice. My car was there a little longer then planned but it came out great! Thanks y'all!

So, My in-laws own this sllver Toyota Camry. It's been a really trusty and reliable car for them. After 13 years in the Arizona sun, and three kids through college, this car was looking pretty beat. Wanting to keep the car on the road, my Father-in-Law asked me to have it painted. Needing to maximize the bang-for-buck factor, I found Tim on Craigslist. A short visit with him gave me hope that he was the man for the job. He uses a quality paint, keeps a clean shop, with a beautiful spray booth. We agreed on a scope of work, and a price. Four days later The car was done. I was impressed that Tim and his son were able to move the car through so quickly. Is it a show quality paint job? No, Did I pay for a show quality paint job? Nope Does the car look like new? Yes Way better than Maaco, or Earl Schieb? You Bet! Overall, I'm pleased with the results, and would gladly do business with these guys again. Pricing is fair, and turnaround time is great. Tim is the man, If you're looking to spruce up your daily driver on a budget. read more

I had a good experience with Tim and Auto Painting Plus. Tim was honest with me and gave me a fair price.

I brought my wife's 14-year-old Jaguar to this shop after seeing their ad on Craig's List. I spoke with Tim, the owner, and he recommended doing just the top surfaces as the sides were still in very good shape. I was prepared to do the whole car, but Tim discouraged spending extra money on it. Estimates at other shops in my area (NW Valley)ranged from $2,500 to $3,200 to do the top surfaces. Tim quoted $650. I had him also paint the front and take out some dents and the total came to $800. I had been prepared to spend around $1,400 for a fairly crappy job that would allow us to drive the car for a couple more years. Long story short, the car came out fantastic - a perfect color match between the painted and original paint panels. I might add this is a silver car, one of the most difficult to match. Even though a lot (not all) trim and windows were taped-off, you could never tell, it was done perfectly. If I had paid $3,000 for this job elsewhere I would have been plenty satisfied. The car was done on-time and on-budget. The facility was immaculate and Tim was extremely friendly and great to work with. I highly recommend Auto Painting Plus, and will use them again if needed, even though they're almost 60 miles from my home. read more

They gave me a quote to paint my Tundra with a shell which was several hundreds of dollars and even more than a thousand dollars less than some other shops. When I picked it up I almost expected some imperfections since I choose the lowest bidder. To my delight the paint job was amazing. It was consistent all over and looked brand new. I would definitely use them again if I need a vehicle painted. read more

I had my 1999 Toyota 4Runner painted with the original color along with a couple small areas of body work. Tim did a great job and it looks very close to factory quality. I am more than happy to recommend this shop to anyone that wants a reasonably priced paint job. read more

Decent job. Not great, not bad. Paid $500 more than quoted originally as pictures didn't show extent of body damage per Tim, which I can understand I guess. Tim just sounds/works like a guy that is ready to retire. He walked around my truck inspecting and and was saying "see this, I'm gonna have to sand this to get it smooth to paint. I'm gonna have to charge more just for labor". Well yes, that's expected from a paint job so why are you charging more to do your job? When I picked it up, as I'm literally leaving he says "there's a spot on this side I had to hand touch up. If it bothers you bring it back and I'll fix it". If you have to say that to a customer than why didn't you fix it in the first place? At that point I was ready to leave and will get it done elsewhere. After further inspection at home both rear tires and bumper have overspray on them too. Overall paint job looks nice and seems quality and comes with a 5 yr warranty. I am happy with it for being an older truck, but with so much painting competition around I would suggest looking elsewhere first. He did provide a loaner car which is nice and replaced a pinstripe for no cost. read more

Had my Mazda MX5 2006 painted a lavender two months ago. Wow do I get compliments. And the really picky persons have to examine all the parts, door frames, etc. to confirm how good a paint job was done. Young Tim was really pleasant to work with and he has a color choose book 6 inches thick. Each page has must be 40 little circles of different shades. I took a couple pages home and my neighbor and I found just the right color that popped when we laid them on the hood in the sun shine. And Tim delivered just the exact color and he did not make fun of me at all. A woman color of course. read more

Tim Sr.'s customer service / interaction is terrible. He was extremely rude from the FIRST MINUTE we spoke (and continued to be throughout the entire experience, getting worse once I dared to question his estimate - which was not in line with their website.) The website is well done, but very misleading, and as soon as he saw the car was a Mercedes, the estimate immediately doubled. Some mentioned that Tim Jr. was better to deal with (but that is not the case, as he continued the rude behavior). Buyer Beware... these are not good people to deal with, continually verbally abusive. I agree with the other negative reviews, and would never do business with someone who treats people that way. read more

i had my whole car painted here at first glance the paint was ok, but a closer look reveals paint runs and over spray all over the car, he said he will repair the dents but he didn't, he replaced the front bumper which is misaligned he also replaced the hood which will not open now, not sure if he install the hood wrong or he broke my latch. bad experience with this shop, don't ever bring your car to this place they do crappy job. read more

I didn't want to have to do this as I've never given a bad review to business on yelp. I have used Painting Plus on 3 occasions now for small repairs for my business. The first experience was great although Tim Sr. Said he would rather me give him a new bumper cover as the old one wouldn't be worth fixing his paint job was clean and fitment was spot on. On the second occasion he named his price for a fender it wasn't as good as the first job as he didn't bother to fill in an rock chips but I didn't complain I understand he was probably busy the paint work showed well none the less. The 3rd time I brought in a faded our hood and roof on a pickup truck (their specialty or so they say) when I picked it up Tim Sr. Attitude completely changed without me even saying that the paint job didnt match he got defensive and said " we don't need business like yours" he said your still going to pay me full price "if you want it fixed you'll pay me again" I was appalled especially because not only was the color completely off the trim on the car had overspray and there were dirt grubs and hair all throughout the paint. I know mistakes happen and people have bad days but had he offered to fix it or owned up to his mistake I wouldn't be writing this review but it was his arrogance in the situation when he was clearly at wrong that was the icing on the cake. Little did he know I had brought him a $2,500 job the day I picked up the truck which I ended up taking elsewhere that would appreciate my business. He talks a big game in his videos and believes he's the best but his work doesn't live up to the hype he creates. I believe in helping small businesses but he clearly believes he has the right to charge full price and pick and choose the customers he wants to do good work for. You have lost our business because we don't treat our customers the way you do nor do we allow that quality of work. read more
