I haven't been here in apparently four years. At least that was my last review. I was looking for a place to eat and drove through the Lowry area and this establishment caught my eye. As usual it feels like a neighborhood bar and grill as most of the patrons seemed to know the bartenders. They have a large mural of Lowry when it was an army base in their back room as well. Surprisingly they have a full bar. Even with the large ice cubes for the old fashioned. I had an Italian sub and ceaser salad while there. Both were good and to go i bought a pizza to have later at home. Once home I couldn't resist but to tear into the pizza and of course it was good like I remember. I love everything at Walter's that does not have their spicy red sauce on it! They know how to make delicious pizza crust in different thicknesses, and it is PERFECT! The toppings are fresh and tasty. I am from NJ and do not like spicy Italian food, but Denver residents seem to love it. Walter's is within walking distance of my house, and I would be there every week if I could get a pizza with delicious marinara sauce with no spice. I also would love to take my family, but they don't care for spicy pizza either, especially the young kids. I have worked with Ken, the manager, and he is very nice and helpful. I have spoken to the owner years ago about the spicy sauce, and he told me that "everyone" loves it. Well, not everyone! The service is always fast and efficient. The staff is kind and helpful. I love the indoor seating. There is a bar area, a back room, and a main dining area with plenty of seating. There is also an outdoor patio. Parking is plentiful on the street or in the back parking lot. The noise level has never been a problem when trying to speak with your fellow diners. The atmosphere is cozy and clean. I would give Walter's 5 STARS if they had a choice of non-spicy and spicy sauce, just like they have a choice of crusts. PLEASE!!!! read more

Absolutely vile and disgusting. Pretty sure the pizza was pre frozen and "warmed". The rubber horrible cheese. The meat that I fear may cause food poisoning and the soggy, flimsy tasteless crust all make for 1 star. It really should get a zero. It was heavily salted and had some weird Italian "flavoring". I catered an event using Walter's 303. I ordered 1 gluten free, 1 cauliflower and 13 regular crust pizzas. I had "common" (i.e. cheese or pepperoni) and specialty pizzas. I also ordered lasagna (both meat and veggie), meatball trays, and salads. I worked directly with Trent. He went the extra mile for me in a few different ways. The guests loved the food. I received many compliments on it. I personally had the meatballs and the cauliflower crust pizza with mushrooms. They were both delicious. Great place for families! They have a nice kids section with games and drawing, which keeps the little ones entertained. The pizzas are really good with high-quality toppings. My only issue is that they only offer spicy marinara sauce and don't have a regular tomato sauce option for kids who don't like spice. First time at Walter's. Great overall experience. Got to sit at a high top in the bar which was cozy. The service was very personable. I came in tonight to get some take out pizza for the family and oh man! I forgot what a cool atmosphere and fun vibe this place has. It really gives "local pizza hangout place" as soon as you walk in the door. A bonus: you aren't ignored by a bunch of "over it" teenagers, instead you are greeted by friendly and welcoming adults which says a lot. I've been here before, plenty of times (dined-in, carried out, and sat at the bar for drinks with a friend-my fave!) but this is my first review. We ordered the BOM pizza and the deep dish with just cheese. Yummy and well prepared as usual. The sauce has just a bit of kick to it but you won't hear us complaining. We are regulars on Fridays and absolutely love their pizza! The crust is dialed and super consistent. We start off with either the Italian or Greek Salad and their dry rub wings. Lots of delicious toppings to choose from and a bunch from local suppliers. Staff are super friendly and provide excellent service. Huge craft beer list! I've driven by this place for a long time but never gave it a thought. My work treated us all with DoorDash gift cards today and thought it would be a good idea to try something new. The pictures of the pizza had me drooling but since I haven't found a good calzone in Denver figured I'd try one. It was AMAZING! First off it is massive. I haven't seen a calzone as big as this one.
