I've been going to MacKay vision since 2004, and for the last seven years, I wasn't living in NH…read more Yesterday I went, and the team there remembered me, and I was genuinely surprised. It had been years since I was there, and even then, I had only been once every two years or so. It was really nice to be put at ease with a courteous, personal and kind staff. The paperwork was just one double sided piece of paper, the wait was short and the exam itself moved quickly. My eyes aren't very bad at all, and so maybe other's experience will be different, but in under 30 minutes I was in and out with new contacts and an updated prescription. Also, the team there is 100% honest. Each procedure was clearly explained to me, and the fees associated with things my insurance would not cover was discussed before getting any work done. So not like they don't tell you lies honest, but they genuinely took the time to explain each procedure and not up-charge me just because I'm ignorant to the medical world of eyes. I typically go the cheap Chinese direct glasses (because I break a pair every 3 months or so) - but when I had them in the past, I was able to get my glasses that same day. I'm sure depending on your prescription and frame choice - that's not always going to be the case, but they are on top of their stuff, and as quickly as it can be done - it is. Anyways - I would never think to go anywhere else to have my eyes checked out as I actually look forward to the friendly staff here.

Despite raising concerns months ago about unexplained charges stemming from what was supposed to be a routine annual exam fully covered by insurance, I have now received another bill--this time for $259.96. To date, I have still not received a clear, transparent explanation of what services were allegedly provided, why they were not explained in advance, or why this continues to be billed as something other than a preventive visit. My previous attempts to get clarification were met with dismissiveness rather than accountability or patient-centered communication. Receiving. OK, I know what you are thinking. Walmart for eye care? I felt the same way and I have to say…read morethat I owe Walmart an apology. Up until 2 weeks ago, I would have never thought of going to Walmart for vision issues. I ranked it right up there as if they had surgeons on staff (would you go get your appendix out at a place like this). I was completely wrong. This office has just about the same modern equipment as my previous optometrist minus the very expensive Opto-map. Initially you sit down and get checked for glaucoma, initial prescription measurement and some other device. In the main room, he broke out all the fun stuff from the funky eyeglasses to a huge assortment of headgear, lights, hand held lenses and charts. Overall I was in the office for over a half hour. This visit was way longer than my previous doctor. What was nice is that he explained every step he was doing. Overall, I felt as though I received more than I paid for. Excellent! I know for a fact that every aspect, angles, inside/outside of my eyes were checked. Wow. I never left any previous doctor with this feeling before. The outside staff is a bit bland on their customer interaction but guess what, I kind of liked it. No hand holding, hovering, forcing you to buy the most expensive stuff. He pushed the script to me and began to process my initial contact order. I had to ask him to buy glasses on top. Nice! NO Pressure! Overall the pricing is excellent. Copay, contact fitting, 1 pair of titanium, transitions, full scratch/glare protection, another pair of Safety Prescription glasses and disposable contacts for....$680. I don't know about you but if you go to some doc's that is the cost of 1 pair! I think I paid 500 bucks for my previous pair of glasses. Thank you WalMart. I will be going to your Vision Centers from now on. You helped me realize how much the markup is on glasses. Opto-map? Quick comment. It's a costly machine which takes a picture of your retina for the doc to scan on a PC's display. Much hype but insurance usually doesn't cover it. This doc uses light and lenses to peer into your eye and inspect the retina. Same thing, old school. WORD!

Walmart Vision Center is the best! Best customer service, best prescription glasses and they have a great selection of frames. I need bi-focals, and the glasses I get from Walmart have the reading portion perfectly placed. No thought involved when I need to see something close up. The competitor? Went back to them 3 times for them to correct them and ended up throwing them in the trash and coming back to Walmart. Oh, and did I mention great prices? That too.

I had my annual eye exam last week at the office on Triangle Lane in Manchester, NH. My appointment…read morewas at 9:00 and I was called back at 9:01. The assistant was very pleasant and explained everything she did. I saw Dr. Remillard who is very nice. He didn't rush and asked me if I had questions. After my exam was finished, he took me out to the glasses area. I was having a problem with my vision insurance, so he mentioned that there were specials that I might like to use. I was introduced to Justin. He is absolutely wonderful! He helped me pick out my frames and was able to find a different color in another location. He helped me find the best deal for my frames and lenses. I was amazed at the price! I could not have gotten a better deal at Costco or Sam's! He was very patient with me and he gave me his full attention. I asked for a copy of my prescription and it was included with my receipt. I had a great experience at this office. Everyone was nice and very helpful. I know you are led to the glasses area after your exam, but I received no pressure to buy my glasses at this office. I'm glad that I did, but there was no pressure. I will continue to get my exams here because I feel that they truly care.

Very disappointed with my experience at this location. I…read morepurchased a pair of glasses here back in June for around $700, and I have had nothing but problems with them. I had to come back approximately three times because the lenses kept falling out. Each time I came in to have them fixed, no one mentioned that I had insurance or explained what the insurance covered. I was simply told they could only attempt to fix the glasses. Now I have unfortunately lost my glasses and went back to the store to use the insurance I had been paying for. One employee told me I was eligible for one free replacement of the lenses and frame. Then another employee told me I could not use the insurance because I needed to have the original glasses. How does that make sense? I have been paying for insurance, yet when I actually need to use it, I am being told I cannot. What makes this even more frustrating is that during all of my previous visits, no one ever explained that I had insurance or what it covered. I paid around $700 for these glasses, had repeated issues with them, and now I am being told I cannot replace them through my active insurance because they are lost. I received completely different answers from employees, and no one could give me a clear explanation. At this point, I feel like I paid for insurance that is useless when I actually need it. I may have to go without glasses until I can afford another pair, despite having paid for coverage that I thought would help in a situation like this. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I feel like the focus is more on taking customers' money than actually helping them. I will never purchase glasses from this company again and would strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing from them make sure they fully understand exactly what they are paying for and what the insurance actually covers. I hope management takes the time to look into this situation, because customers should not have to receive conflicting answers about coverage they are paying for.

I had called at 9:00am to order more contacts and to see if they had extra daily disposable contacts that I could have until mine came in as I had a wedding to attend. The receptionist told me she would check and call me back. 5 hours passes and no call. I walk in to pick up a family member's order and I asked about my contacts. She rudely told me that they did not have any contacts on hand (which is hard to believe given the fact they always have extra samples when we come in for our exams..I mean after all this is an eye care office) and told me I HAD to go to the wedding in my glasses and I had no choice. She never recommended an alternate option such as giving me a paper prescription to see if I could get the contact lenses elsewhere because she is insincere and cold. She told me that she never called me back because she wasn't able to find any contact lenses for me. I politely told the receptionist that I would have appreciated a call to let me know about the status of the contact lenses, to which she raised her tone and began to yell at me. The amount of disrespect I was shown is unbelievable, especially for a professional setting. I felt like I was being yelled at by my grade school teacher for not sitting at my desk like I was told. After her yelling subsided, I asked for a paper prescription to see if I could fill my contacts somewhere else. Willow Eye Care has lost me and my other family members as customers. Do not go here unless you want to be yelled at and treated with disrespect!
