My elderly mother has been going here for years. The eye care providers are wonderful, but the front desk was extremely rude and yelled at her over the phone during an attempt to reschedule yesterday. We think there was a miscommunication on the date and time of the requested appointment, which frustrated the staff member--but after getting yelled at, my mother didn't feel comfortable trying clarify and ended the call. Very disappointed. Initially contacted this office for a consult for a lower lid blepharoplasty. It was my only reason for the visit. After waiting 45 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment, I was told Dr. Monroe had to leave due an emergency. Fine. They tell me someone else will see me. Again, fine. After another long wait, the doctor who comes to see me for my so-called consult isn't even a surgeon. I'm pretty sure she thought I was there for a routine eye exam. This is a review of the customer service I received when I called to make an appointment. I haven't been there since 2017 and was told that I needed to start over as a new patient. Okay, whatever. She asked me if I had insurance and I told her that I do, but that I didn't have vision insurance and that I would be paying out of pocket. She then stated "we don't take vision insurance, but we need you to call your insurance company and find out if they have vision coverage". I explained to her that I did not want to call my insurance company and would be paying out of pocket. She stated that she would not make an appointment for me until I called my insurance company. I reminded her for a 3rd time that I would be paying with cash. She said, "thank you, bye" and hung up the phone. She literally hung up on me because I wanted to pay cash. read more

I bought a very expensive pair of glasses from them put all the tints and reflective films that they suggested --fast-forward a few years and all their films and reflective coatings are breaking down and the glasses are useless. They told me there is nothing they can do in the lab won't help. I'd have better luck at Walmart. To bad because the doctors are fabulous. read more

She did not answer my question and proceeded to berate me in the rudest way I have EVER experienced when calling a business...again as a potential NEW customer. She was basically yelling at me, talked a thousand miles a minute and decided she needed to bombard ME with questions instead of answering mine. When I arrived, the first order of business was to check in. Paula was the most helpful and nicest check-in person ever! She explained every and answered any questions I had. My wait was minimal and I was greeted by Sara, my eye doctor's technician. She explained what I would be going through and gave me an eye exam. Also very professional and friendly!!! Lastly, Dr. Loranger completed my exam and was very thorough throughout the process. Dr. Loranger is the best eye doctor I have ever had!!! All in all, what would see to be an appointment I wouldn't normally look forward to, ended up being an enjoyable experience! I would highly recommend this place for eye care! read more

Dr Loranger and the staff did an excellent job during my visit. They even adjusted my glasses that were purchased elsewhere for free.

I had an appointment in November they called me to cancel because the Dr. who they schedule me with was going to be in the Londonderry office instead of Manchester. Why would you give me an appointment if the Dr. was not going to be there? They couldn't give me a new appointment in 2020, which means I was not going to use my benefits for that year. They offer an appointment in February I said I would call back to re-schedule which I did today. They won't give me an appointment because they need my health insurance. (Granted they already have my VSP eye insurance info) 1- why was I not told this during my previous appointment . 2- they are not billing by health insurance they will bill my VSP eye insurance which they know they can. 3- they said we want your health insurance "just in case we find something" and we need to Bill your insurance? I have never hear of this before. This makes no sense, i told the person well if you find something you will tell me before doing anything and I should make a decision to proceed with any necessary medical treatment with you or another doctor, so I don't understand why they need to have my health insurance on file. They were not helpful at all they couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation as to why they couldn't give me an appointment without verifying my health insurance even though they have my eye insurance informaron and had confirmed that they can billed. read more

I was referred to NH Eye Associates by my dermatologist, for a "mucous inclusion cyst" on my lower eyelid. Have had it for years, and looks like a blister, but has never been more than a nuisance. However, it got a little larger recently so thought I should get it checked out. The dermatologist had me see Dr. Susan Tucker, who is only in Manchester twice a month. She's based out of Lahey Clinic in Peabody, Massachusetts. I arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule (traffic was easier than I expected) and was told it would be a bit of a wait. I didn't know what to expect in terms of personnel attitudes based on other reviews, but most of them were very pleasant. The initial greeting was professional, but not overly exuberant. I'm okay with that, as long misery isn't on the menu. Was probably only about 5 minutes before my name was called to go back to an exam room. This is a big place, so bit of a hike from lobby through the optical department (didn't have much of a look at the frames available), past a nurses' station and down a corridor to an exam room. Typical optometrist style set up, big chair, big eye exam equipment, mirrors, and crappy old lighting. The PA (not sure if that was her proper title, but let's assume) went through my medical history, and meds, why I was there, quick eye exam to see how my vision was with glasses. She was really nice, joked around a bit. Then I was told it would be about 20 minutes before Dr. Tucker would be in. She was running a little late. Okay fine. I think around the 10-15 minute mark someone came to move me to a different exam room a couple doors away. Don't know why, but whatever. Dr. Tucker came in not long after that. Nice, very business like. Explained my cyst was superficial, sometimes they grow, but not to be concerned. Could be removed easily. As my plate is full with other things currently, and this is a non-urgent matter, I decided to hold off with any treatment. I can just call her to schedule if/when I want to go ahead. Quick and simple. All covered by insurance (my budget says thank you!). When I called to make the appointment I was given instructions on where to park. That was helpful, because I thought trying to park on the street in downtown Manchester would have been challenging. They are in the same building with Granite State Credit Union. Horrible! My daughter and I were sent here after calling the Manchester office. Gave them insurance information, full insurance numbers to be sure my daughter was covered. We were told she was covered. Upon arrival, we were basically called liars about being at the manchester office before. We were TOLD we never were told that she was cover. The woman at the front desk was cold and mean. I believe her job was to assist customers, not to be confrontational. We were not allowed to sit down and fill out the paperwork, but were told we had to stand at the desk to fill out the 4 pages... Then halfway through the exam, it was stopped and told we needed to pay $310 now to continue. An awful customer service experience! read more

I am a patient of Dr Pinkham at NH Eye Associate for several years now. I was recently involved in a very serious accident that left me with blurred vision. My PCP suggested that I make an appointment with my eye doctor and sent referral to Dr Pinkham. Dr Pinkham office staff refuses to give me an appointment. Apparently this practice allows their secretaries to determine what constitutes an emergency instead of a medical doctor. read more

I had results sent over to them 2 months ago and they did not to reach out to me. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Scheduled a routing eye exam which is covered under my insurance. Several weeks later I received a bill in the mail for $74.36; when I called and questioned this, they said it was an additional test the doctor had done for glaucoma which is not covered! I was NOT made aware of this during the visit or even when I checked out at the front desk. I have NO family history of glaucoma and was never asked if I wanted this "additional" test. I see other reviewers have had similar experiences. Well I hope that $74.36 was worth losing a patient because that's just what they did; I'll go elsewhere! read more

After having gone to the same eye docs and optical shop for the last few years (NH Eye), we are making the move to one closer, mostly because we don't have a reason to drive the 1/2 hour to them. You would figure that after that long, and knowing the staff, that getting your prescription via phone request wouldn't be an issue. Unless of course you are talking about trying to request it from NH Eye Associates. I went to a local place over a week ago, and they requested my prescription be faxed over from NH Eye(a process that only takes a few minutes to do). But I get a call today, from the local place, saying that they have called MULTIPLE times, but no joy. So I called the optical department, explained the situation, and requested It be emailed to me. The Optical Manager said, "no problem" and took down my email address. So after waiting 2 hours for It, and not receiving It, I drove up to get It. I walked in and Wow, not a patient in sight. Oh, and all the opticians were in their office, laughing and joking. Good to know they were so busy. Meanwhile, my glasses have been waiting over a week so they could be sent to the lab. So thanks a million to the optical department for being so busy laughing and joking with each other, that they couldn't find the time through their lack of patients at lunch time, to fax a simple prescription that was requested over a week ago. Oh, and the best part..... 10 hours later and I still don't have the presciption that the Optical Manager said she would email. I will give props to the awesome front desk folks, who were very pleasant and helpful, and printed the families prescriptions out in less than 2 minutes. read more

The staff was pleasant, but $350 for a routine semi-annual eye exam is extremely excessive. In my 50 years of wearing glasses, I have never been charged even close to that for a routine eye exam. Please ask them for pricing before you book an appointment. Do your research. I was extremely surprised at their pricing for the same service I have been receiving every 2 years from others. The doctors were very good but everything else about this place is terrible. They were never on time, hold times on the phone were ridiculous and the customer service sucked. For example, my daughter had to pick glasses for the first time and they told her she had "2 minutes" . They never ordered the glasses by the way. I have to back again to order them. I have been using this practice for a number of years and have no complaints. In fact, I just started using their Dry Eye Center for treatment as well. In the past I used to get my prescriptions filled at a box store, and in spite of coupons and "specials" my prescription was still quite costly. My last two pair of glasses and sunglasses were from NH Eye's Optical Department where I was pleasantly surprised to find that they often have a buy-one, get-one sale which made my purchase much more affordable. I find the staff here to be pleasant, efficient and professional, just what I need when I'm dealing with my eyes. (Frankly, I find chatty receptionists to be annoying.) I went here for two eye exams and both times they were not good and I finally moved on. The women at the front desk are very dry and unfriendly and do not acknowledge you when you stand in front of them waiting to check in. I waited 10 min, before finally one of them said, someone would be right with me, while the two that were there did paper work, then one finally finished and helped me. Seriously! I have waited for my first exam here for about a half hour then for the second exam is when I finally made the decision not to come back. The doctor is super awkward and odd, but I waited for past 45 minutes from the time my appointment was scheduled to the time I was actually seen. I actually left the patient room looking for the doctor. The doctor came in 10 min later so it's about 50 min now and he didn't even say sorry. He is not very friendly and just very odd. The entire office is just not friendly and they don't seem to care about the patient. It also takes about a day for them to send a prescription out so I could go somewhere else. They do not have very many eye glasses or even ask if you want to look. They also do not price match on contacts and you can always get them somewhere cheaper. I can tell you that I wouldn't want to get any sort of eye surgery here, that's for sure with the service I get. read more

The doctors at this practice (at least in my experience) are great. My prescriptions have always been spot on and the doctors have been professional every step of the way. With that said, the receptionists are a total pain in the ass. Anytime you ask them for something, even if its well within the scope of their basic job, they are difficult and a total pain in the rear. Not only are they hard to work with, they are completely rude. The ophthalmologist (MD) was fine, although humorless and seemingly a bit frazzled as if he had earlier witnessed something very stressful. The "customer care" aspect made me feel like I had walked into a hidden camera TV show. You walk into this very large room, with a large desk area enclosing four or five people. No "register here" or "welcome" or other signs, so I walked up to the only person who glanced in my direction, for a second, and asked if I was in the right place. No "hello" or "yes" or anything other than she reached down and grabbed a form and slapped it in front of me and said,"Fill this out and someone will be with you". After filling the multi-page forms, I walked around and all of the workers were talking with each other about various doctors there and complaining about whatever, apparently completely oblivious, or uncaring, that I was standing right there. So... I just wandered around waiting for someone to call my name. From what I could see, there was only one other customer in the place. Maybe something horrible had happened there earlier. I don't know, but it was a very strange experience. I'm a "smiley face" kinda person, and always try to lighten things up in dark situations, but my attitude did not rub off on anyone there. Been going here since I was a teenager, about 13 years or so and just got a letter last month telling me they will no longer accept my insurance. So, fantastic.
