Dr. Hogan is fantastic and I don't think I've seen him in anything other than a great mood. He is also great at explaining the test they do and why. If you want to chat with him about his equipment, techniques, optometry, or anything eye related he is happy to drop some ocular knowledge on you. The business is great too. I've been going for a while and went there back when it was just you standard eye shop. They re-did the whole place with granite countertops and nice tile - it's crazy nice inside. You wouldn't think going to the eye doctor would be fun, but I really enjoy myself every time.

Dr. Donna Hogan was great and very nice. But bad experience with the front end office staff. When I arrived for the appointment, the receptionist was on the phone with a patient, constantly rolling her eyes, repeatedly holding phone away from her face, and looked annoyed. After the call, the receptionist talked to me, making negative comments about the caller, before helping me. I asked a question about one section of a form that required a signature, and she answered "sure" in an annoyed tone. Another section of the form required a signature for receiving a paper copy of the prescription after the visit. Since I hadn't had the visit yet, I didn't sign it, and the receptionist said to just sign it and then I would get it after the visit. But after the visit I didn't get it. I forgot it and had to go back to get it. There was another front end office staff member that sat with me to take payment after the exam. After taking the payment for the exam, she asked to see my glasses. She looked at them and then kept them, saying they'd keep it for a couple weeks to send to the lab to update the prescription. She didn't say why she wanted to look at my glasses or even ask if I wanted to get new frames or lenses there. Had to ask for my glasses back. Had to ask for a copy of the receipt. They didn't offer to schedule a next appointment. After the visit, there was also an issue when trying to transfer records. Called multiple times to have records sent to a different optometrist office. Was repeatedly told it was done, but the new office wouldn't get it. Eventually I called and another receptionist answered. Turned out that the previous receptionist trying to send it was new and didn't actually know how to do it. Was able to get it sent right away with them after filling out a form.

I depend on others for rides, and dread anything lengthy, but confusion by them had me scheduled for one doctor, but not for the ophthalmologist for prescription. We ended up there for FOUR HOURS, and were given the next appt. Returned a month or so later and got through the lens doctor, but then stupidly "pushed our luck" going to the optical shop, where I had already determined to keep my frames, which I had purchased from the CH location years ago, so it should have been an easy order, but the sales lady , who was playing my husband against me and effusively apologizing for her suggestions, really pushed for me to get smaller ones...I held my ground, and signed a release of liability, so she would order them...she did so, but again, the visit lasted 3 + Hours!!! I guess the pandemic must have left them shorthanded, like it did ALL OTHER health services? Anyway, the wait times and seeming lack of respect for patients' time is unacceptable. It's been over a month, and I haven't gone back for the lenses, so finally called ( which I expected they'd do, but I guess that's too much to ask for $800+ lenses, which I PRE-PAID...without new frames! I might amend this review when I do go back, but I'm not holding my breath... SO SAD, even more than angry or disappointed, because my vision is terrible, and I wear Coke bottle-thick glasses, so I need friends at my eye doctor's, not to be ignored and delayed, and to wait endlessly!

I am very disappointed. I had scheduled an appointment originally at the Pillsbury Building…read morelocation, and received a letter telling me my doctor was no longer with the practice. They changed the time of my appointment (only 10 minutes earlier), and changed the location of the appointment to Pillsbury *Street*. I went to the old location, 10 minutes early, and the receptionist sent me to the Pillsbury Street location. She also called ahead to say I was on my way. Both she and the receptionist at this location emphasized the "10 minute cutoff" rule - the first I ever heard of this. I checked in at 8:42 for an 8:30 appointment. The tech who did my initial screening was fine - she moved me to the doctor's waiting area at 9:10. Finally, at 9:55, I had waited long enough and went to check out and leave. While I was checking out (it's now after 10), someone finally came to get me. When I said I was leaving, that I had other things to do, I was told "well, you were late, and we are running behind." The late part, I get. The running behind? It's now 55 minutes after I got to the doctor's waiting room, and somehow my 10 minutes caused that much of a cascade of lateness? Perhaps they should examine their booking schedules. I'm sad to say I am changing practices, after 13 years with Concord Eye.

The entire appointment left a bad taste. He removed my contacts without asking first; he just told me to quickly look up and bam...he took one out, then reached right over to the other...no comment at all to me. Same thing putting them back in...told me look this way and that, and just took it upon himself to put them in. He also has no personality. The worst part ever was I was in the room at the end of a hallway... While my eyes were being dilated, he left me there with the door open and I saw all these people coming and going ...while I was there for 45 minutes and while I heard him in the next room with another patient. I even saw him walk the patient in AFTER my eyedrops and finish with the patient before returning to me. NOT impressed. I HAVE set my appointments ahead a year each time and I've yet to have one kept. I keep getting a notice for whatever reason that I have to reschedule, while at the other office, but I think the hospital campus may be better.

All the staff worked to pull strings to get me in right then and there. The DO I had was very nice and informative, listened to what I had to say and showed me some cool stuff (the base of my brain) as well. Then I met Jamie the Branch Manager. First of all she is a saint! The fact that she was patient as I tried on about 50 pairs of frames before we finally found the right ones (pair number 49). She made me feel like I was the only customer of the day, took in account my dislikes and likes (even I admit some are absolutely ridiculous) and found me the perfect pair. Then we got to the pricing. I already knew what my Co-Pay was with insurance ($60) but was not expecting how amazing the price for a year supply of contacts and a pair of glasses. After all the discounts I walked out only paying $610.78. I was expecting to pay at least a grand! Working with Jamie was like talking to an old friend! It was just a great experience and I will not go anywhere else! I 100% recommend for all your eye care needs!
