I have found that they stock frames that are VERY difficult to find in other stores and have many italian designer One Off frames with uniqueness. If you're looking for frames that are high quality designer and also unique, this is your place! Costs are slightly above average, but, to be expected as it s in a mall. :-) I will continue to come here for my frames and eye glasses requirements. Pleasantly surprised. I readily admit that it sounds like a punchline ("Where'd you get your eye…read moreexam, Walmart?!") but it was professional, thorough, high quality, and affordable. Eye exam was fair price, and separate from the vision center. Their optometrist doesn't wear a blue smock, as he is an independent contractor. In fact, you pay at his desk back where the eye exam rooms are, credit card charge to doctor so and so, then go back out to the main area to potentially buy glasses or contacts from the employees with the blue smocks from Walmart itself. Eye exam was top, I assure you. I have had glasses for thirty years, and I've worn contacts for about 18 years. I was also in the military and I've seen many, many different optometrists in my travels. This guy was near the top of my favorites. I was struck with his attention to detail, and conversational style to get at, for example, what contacts might be best for my changing eyes. I couldn't have been more pleased with the eye exam. I will recommend him to anyone around who asks me. As for the Walmart part of the business, it was... also great! Another pleasant surprise. I did not buy glasses so I don't know about glasses from here other than by price, which looked really low. Can't speak to quality for it. For contacts, though, quality is not determined by where you buy them. Same brand is same brand. I can say PRICE was great at the Walmart Vision Center. They do price match if you find a lower price, but I can say that my particular contacts cost $65/box from Walmart, and were $70/box on 1800-contacts that same night. I was all set to go back for my price match guarantee, but Walmart already had the lowest price I found. I'm not one to get super excited about eye exams and the like, but I had had a crappy optometrist experience for the one prior to this visit (see my one star review for LensCrafters in the Mall of NH). The optometrist for the Walmart vision Center in Bedford made a variety of essential changes to my prescription (less negative for vision, wear reading glasses, use toric lenses) that resulted from a good, quality, solid 30 minute exam.

It's a neolithic practice that should get tossed in a dumpster fire next to the likes of fax machines and Blackberries. It also happens to be the main reason I sought out Lumen Eye Care as my new go-to for all things optometry. Well, that and....wifey already goes here and vouches for them hard. Recently relocated to the Northeastern boulevard, you may be forgiven if you struggle to find their suite upon first visit. Just look for the giant glasses next to the front door and you'll spot them straight away. Of course, you'll have to park across the street, but that's a minor inconvenience, at worst. I have to admit...first impressions were most pleasant. The office is clean, pristine, and a welcoming scene. Heh! I'm a poet and I didn't even know it. Snoogans! XD But seriously folks, the docs here will treat you with the best of care. The initial wait was a bit longer than expected, given the lack of patients at the time. But that can mostly be forgiven, considering how far more advanced their technology is compared to past optometrists I've visited. That's what brought me here in the first place. I find that in my "old" age (and I say that rather dubiously), keeping up with the recommended annual check-ups proves to be most crucial. I've worn readers for a few years now. As such, I want to make sure I'm wearing the appropriate prescription at the time it's needed. Every procedure here is carried out with precision, speed, and professionalism. The "head doc" (as I'll affectionately call her) was unexpectedly warm and kind. Then again, I've likely had my original view of optometrists tainted by my past experiences with military doctors. Yeah...they tend to scrape the bottom of the barrel when it comes to selecting those personality types. But, I digress. So, perhaps the bar was low going in. Nevertheless, I couldn't be more pleased with Lumen's practices. Enrolling into their database was simple and only required 3 signatures. As I alluded to in the beginning, they accept VA sponsorship; which is a HUGE win in my book! Plus, I really can't say enough good things about their updated equipment. And for those wondering, they use an ophthalmoscope (don't try saying that 3 times fast) to view the insides of your eyeball--as opposed to dilating your pupils so wide you come out looking like Hermey the elf. IYKYK. Now, I can't speak to their prices for eyewear. I'd only caution the average consumer to purchase their glasses online somewhere--especially if you only need readers. IMHO, there is NO reason to purchase glasses likely priced in the triple digits that you'll only need to wear part time anyway. Unless there's a frame set you're just DYING to have, I really don't see the point. Someone should have told that one guy who visited back in May of this year (also, don't buy Ray-Bans?). Inflated prices aside though, I don't think that warrants a one star review against this place. But that's just MY opinion. Anyway, I have to come back here in a few months to check on some...questionable marks in the back of my eyeball. But that's merely a testament to their meticulous nature. (see photo; glasses in perfect condition - no scratches or sign of wear and tear). I was told that there is only a 1 year guarantee; however, no where on the invoice does it say so (getting the run around here?). I was offered a 50% discount to relace glasses due to defects caused by the manufacture. Now does that seem fair to you????????I will discuss problem with my insurance company so they are informed and to get advise on finding an Eye Dr that is reputable.

I had to wait 30 minutes for my appointment. Had a 10 am appointment and waited and waited almost canceled as I had another appointment after. I finally got seen and they were apologetic, and I had a good through evaluation. Still have good sight and happy to still see clearly with no devices. I would recommend but plan on waiting around.

However, they lied about contacting me to let me know that my glasses were done. They know that with cell phones, it's very easy to check and see who called you, and certainly who left you a message. They did neither, and lied about it. To me that's a huge red flag for a business.

I had a disappointing experience during a routine contact lens exam at Windham Family Eye Care…read more When I arrived, the front desk staff member told me she was locked out of the office computer system and could not log in to access insurance information. She even showed me the screen and explained that she couldn't access the insurance portals. I also observed multiple usernames and passwords written on sticky notes attached to the monitor. Because of this, the office could not verify my insurance benefits through Davis Vision. Despite not knowing my copay or contact lens allowance, I was told I needed to pay something and ended up purchasing a box of contacts for $85 out of pocket. A few weeks later I received a voicemail saying my contacts were ready and that I also owed $125 for the contact lens exam, which had not been disclosed during the visit. When I called to ask about it, I was told my contact lens allowance had already been used simply because the office billed the exam. This was frustrating because I had already paid for contacts out of pocket specifically because the office could not verify my insurance. After raising concerns, the exam fee was eventually waived, but only after a lengthy discussion. Overall the experience involved significant disorganization, lack of insurance verification, and unclear communication about fees and insurance benefits.
