Well tomorrow my husband and I are shopping at this Wal-Mart, and frankly after hearing about and reading the reviews I'm scared to go there lol. Then I see a pic of a needle thrown in the bushes? I placed an order for photo Christmas cards yesterday at 11:55 a.m., and was informed not to come to pickup until I received a notification that they were ready--not before 6 p.m. Okay. But SURPRISE!, at 2 p.m., I got the "ready" notification! NICE! That was my only reason for heading out in the rain at 3:30 p.m. Got to the store and the very nice, helpful, and friendly photo clerk who has been with the store for decades produced my order and all was good in my world. I shopped a bit more, then went to the self-checkout lane. The line moved pretty quickly. My turn came and I scanned my items but intentionally left my photos (already purchased at the photo dept.) on the cart seat so as not to have the machine announce that an "unexpected item had been detected" in my bag, requiring a wait from the attendant. Well, in my rush to get home, I left the photos on the cart seat. I called the store immediately upon my return home. I was on hold for a LONG time. I was transferred to the "service desk" that never answered, but the person who initially answered the phone actually went and checked for me. No photos found! :-( I left my name and number, just in case... About 20 minutes later, the photo department called to say that a customer had found the photos and that they would hold them for me in their department!! Yea!! THERE ARE STILL GOOD AND HONEST AND HELPFUL PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD!! Just thought I'd share this good news. :-) read more

I used the on line Walmart app to have photos made, Monday 28th,2019 FedEx delivered to the store, connie signed and lost the package in the store!! Instead of admitting to this, she said the package had not arrived yet, I had to call FedEx to get the information she already knew, then she went home so she couldn't be questioned. The store said ALL supervisors were in a meeting. This is horrible customer service, an employee lied and that is unacceptable service. They want me to REORDER!! NO WAY!! read more

Worst Wal-Mart ever. Very disorganized and the employees I asked for help were completely unhelpful. Apparently the store does not carry any sort of sweater, jacket, or fleece for toddler boys during the summer, despite their close proximity to mountains higher than 8000ft and often very cold even in the height of summer. read more

AWFUL! the place has too bright light i almost threw up. Workers are unfairly paid and food not to great.

Lines are always very long and only a few checkers available. No point in having all of those check stands and only so many checkers. The workers hate their jobs and I don't blame them. The parking lot is very scary in the evening. A lot of transients walking around and people just sitting in there vehicles. I used to feel like I was going to get jumped or robbed. There are a lot of campers and RV's parked in the back and I think people live there. I only drive to the Anderson Walmart now. I feel it's safer and you can get in and out very quickly. I had the oil changed in my wife's van Friday night it went well. The next afternoon I needed my truck's oil changed, I called ahead to see how long of a wait, I was told there was no wait so I went down. It took about 10 minutes to get there and there wasn't a wait because they had no technicians and they had to closed. ( She told me there was no wait just 10 minutes earlier) So, I called the store the next day early afternoon they said there was a 45-minute wait and I asked them if they had all 4 of their technicians in. She said yes. I got to the store and they had one technician he came out and told me it was going to take two-hour or more. I left and waited until later that afternoon call again and they said they had a 45 minutes wait and all their technicians were there and they only had two of the four technicians it took about hour and a half. Which is not bad. They need to tell the customers the truth so they don't waste a trip. Not too many people have two to four hours to waiste on getting their oil changed on a weekend. They just got a new department manager she was not involved and hopefully she can get it straightened out. read more

For weeks and weeks now.. Their parking lot lights have been out.. And it is super dark at night.. And me and my family don't feel safe at all whenever we go.. (we're busy during the day).. They have a few temporary lights.. But those don't help much.. Just left this Walmart and even those were off.. Makes it hard to see anything.. Especially people walking.. I recently was in Walmart and was in the meat section looking for ground turkey. After many experiences with purchasing bad meat I always check the dates on stuff like that. So sure enough I start checking the dates on the small selection they had and all of the ground turkey packages they had out were expired that day!!! That is disgusting!! Another customer thought I was kidding when I said that out loud and came over to look as well and we both discovered they were all expired!! You mean to tell me that the amount of workers Walmart has employed not one can check and make sure the meat isn't expired that day. Moral of the story I will not be buying my meat at Walmart anymore and for awareness for everyone to check the due dates before buying! read more

I frequent this Walmart for business needs and most cashiers are always helpful, specifically Nancy, Edna and Debra. My problem is the witchy front end supervisor (Robyn) who is just beyond rude to her cashiers. Nancy opened a line today as she was signing into her register she asked me to come to her line. My daughter and I pushed our full cart over to her as the witch came and said "you always do that, stop it!". I looked at her and said yes she helps the customers unlike you and your rude comments. How someone can be so rude to her cashiers in front of other associates as well as customers is beyond me. You are there to help not speak down to your staff especially embarrassing them in front of everyone. Of course by the time I left she had disappeared because the next time I will get her name and say something. Retails hard enough with all different kinds of customers but to have your own supervisor be so rude should not be tolerated. read more

So I call Walmart and get connected to the customer service. I ask to see if an employee can check on some boxes needed. I give her the size and she puts me on hold. Well 20 minutes later on hold with no update or even a courtesy "hi we are still checking" I call on my other phone and let them know I am still holding just in case someone forgot about me. So this time a MANGER picks up after about 10 more minutes. She says yes I will run back and check...On hold as I write this now for 15 more minutes. So a total of 45 minutes. Worst customer service experience ever! Went in to buy a grill, no one seem to understand how to do that. The lady at the cashier seemed clueless on what I wanted it was so obvious how clueless she was the customer behind me even chuckled at how ridiculous her responses were to me asking to buy a $199 grill. Then when I went to a lady who seem to know what she was doing she then told me yeah that cash register is old and stupid. Really that's your ideal employees Walmart FAIL!!!!!!! Literally went in there to buy a Grill. Stood around for almost an hour and left with nothing. Horrible service. I then drove to Home Depot and bought a grill in 10 minutes. read more

The first time I walked in here I was in awe of how gigantic it is. Compared to Chico, this store is a freaking maze. I was so excited by the grocery section, and how big the store was, but it turns out all of that is pretty lame. The employees don't know where anything is, and it's such a big warehouse of a place that they don't really care. I have had the clerks ring things up two or three times and want me to pay double because of their mistakes with the scanner. I mean, what the heck? The sections are not bigger than a normal WalMart either, just more spread out. Oh, and the cosmetics section is like a shoebox. I refuse to go here anymore. read more

The wal-mart itself is just as good/bad as any wal-mart. The problem I have is their policy on campers. They do not allow overnighters - if I had known this beforehand, I would not have shopped here. When I was loading my purchases into the back of my RV, the manager(security guard by his side) approached me and said that they did not allow overnighters. There are no signs posted on the light poles to this effect, but evidently it's their policy to not allow travelers to sleep in their cars. If you're looking for an RV-friendly parking lot, you only need to go a couple blocks away - the mcdonalds on Churn Creek road. They even have free wifi there. read more

Walmart's pharmacy operates for its own convenience not the customers. Limited hours, long employee lunch breaks, backlogs in filling prescriptions, long wait times for prescriptions that have been sitting for hours. You may wait for days if the item is not currently in stock and then you are told that if you want it filled in a timely manner once it arrives, you will need to call to request it to be filled. I have worked in several pharmacies and not seen so little care for customer satisfaction. This appears to be a policy and management problem and not the fault of the low paid worker bees. read more

WALMART !!!!!! They are frauds. I bought my wife a new laptop on line. We ended up instead of getting a confirmation email, we received a email saying that my transaction has been canceled and that my purchase appears suspicious and basically accused my purchase as possible fraud!!! The email went on to say that they would NOT be taking the money from my account, yet they did. The money is still gone from my account today and I cannot get my wife her new laptop for about 10 business days. I have purchased items from walmart many times in the past and this purchase was no different than any of the others. Crooked bastards. I hate walmart and am well aware of how poorly they treat their employees, but I guess they're ok with treating their customers worse, at least they aren't trying to steal from their employees, just their customers. I have been going to the redding Wallmart pharmacy for my monthly prescriptions. I got a text saying my prescription would be ready the next day. I came in on that day, the pharmacist told me it would be thirty minutes for it to be filled. I walked around the store and then waited back in line to get my medication. While in line I hear a guest behind me talking to an employee. He asked the employee to get out of the way and to put his mask back on. Next thing I know the employee ran into me from behind. I turned to see the maskless employee then he proceeded to tell the customer that it's his freedom of speech and refused to put on his mask. The employee's name was Curtis, a young adult. Not only was he talking back to a guest, but refused to put his mask on, and also ran into me in the process. I was shaking, by the time I got to the pharmacist, she then tells me that my prescription was out of stock and would not be ready for another 5 days! Very disappointed and I will be taking my business elsewhere!! read more

horrible store, I've been trying to get 36 x 32 dickies black jeans there for 2 years but that size is always sold out. tons of 46 x 28 jeans. also no XL t-shirts. plenty of 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, stacked high. if you're freakishly proportioned might be for you. the belt rack is a disaster, must be years of belts fallen behind display is a big tangled mass. thanks to this store I buy directly from dickies.com and Amazon now. I cannot think of a place on earth that I dislike more than this Walmart. Not all Walmarts, just this one. And I'm not being dramatic. I've thoroughly thought about this while waiting in the infinitely long lines while trying to check out here at night. Most of the time Walmart is at least convenient. That is not the case for the Redding Walmart. I usually go there just to get a couple things and then leave. This proves to be extremely difficult, however, because for some reason they move all the departments and merchandise around every month or so. I always end up having to search for things and ask an employee. The employees rarely know where anything is either and will often give you incorrect information. I once was sent back and forth between departments for 30 minutes until I got so frustrated I left without buying anything. The best part about Walmart Supercenters is the fact that they are 24 hours and have pretty much anything you need. Welllll this one may be open 24 hours but most of the departments are not. They have random things locked up behind glass (like shaving cream and waxing kits) and they close off entire sections of the store at night (cosmetics, electronics, etc). Supposing you do happen to find the correct section for what you are looking for and it happens to be open, there is a 75% chance they will be out of whatever specific type, size, or color you want. Another fun feature of late night shopping at the Redding Walmart is that they have only 2 or 3 registers open at night. So if you're going there to buy a couple things you will still be waiting in a 20-30 minute long line. I once waited 30 minutes to buy a tub of Ice cream that ended up being melted by the time I finally checked out. I probably would have been done sooner if I had returned my items to the places I got them, drove to Winco, found the same items and checked out there. No matter what mood I'm in when I go in, I always leave angry. I didn't know that it was possible for a place to have that effect on someone but it does. Always just go to the Anderson Walmart or Winco if you have to get something. You may have to drive a little further but it's worth it to save yourself the year of aging you will do from all the stress of trying to shop here. read more

It's a Walmart, so don't expect luxury, but as far as walmart's go, it's really well kept and modern. The staff does there best to keep it clean and organized, but the usual crowd that goes here doesn't do anything to help them out. Overall, Walmart is doing a 5 star job here, but listening to customers swear at eachother and yell at their kids makes me not enjoy coming here. read more

On a return trip to Washington in my 2006 Scion AX my battery started to fail. As I was driving into Redding,CA I saw a Walmart sign. I pulled off and went to the "Lub and Tires" section. There I met "Bob" and he put in a new battery, windshield wipers, and jumper cables. I was out of Walmart in 30 minutes and on my way home again. I've tried to give this store every opportunity to get a good review. The customer service stinks. I'm disabled and have tried to get employees to reach items I cannot and have found them avoiding me trying to act like they don't see me flagging them down from my motorized cart. This however is not the only issue I have with this store. The pharmacy habitually does not have my prescriptions when they have said they were ready. I've called they tell me yes they are ready. I go in and every single time I've had to wait because they have not been ready. I gave up and switched to Walgreens on East Lake. Lastly Walmart's site to store sounds great however every single order has arrived looking like it's been tossed around by gorillas. I've had to refuse items and wait for replacements which is quite frustrating and worst of all the employees act like I should just accept the damaged items and not bother them. The managers are equally guilty of this attitude and have acted like I was putting them out when I would not except these damage even completely unusable items. I am not a person who complains however I am not willing to put good money out for products that are damaged through no fault of mine. This store sorely needs to step up their customer service. read more

avoid this walmart if possible. head to the anderson ,ca one instead 15 mins away. much better stock and better people that will actually help u. also, why would you ever buy anything for your home at walmart? there is never anyone knowledgeable about anything and if your lucky enough to find an associate to help you... good luck if they know where and what you are talking about . go to lowes,target,winco,foodmax to get your stuff. theres always an associate there to help u find what you need. the clerks here never engage in talk, or look you in the eyes. there is one amazing person who works there tho that ive noticed is a great worker , she works in the clothing room changing area, gertrude or something i think her name is. ill have to get her name on here right next time. she has short really curly hair and glasses. real sweet read more

Nothing but hassles. They advertise items they don't have. Almost every time I order something online, the order is cancelled. Supposedly, you can order anything from Walmart and it will be sent to the local stop for pickup. That's an outright lie. Frankly, they need to be sued for false advertising. The service at this store is horrible. I'm homebound, so I'd like to be able to order things online and have my care provider pick them up, but I haven't had an order go through in months. When I call the store with inquiries, I get passed around because none of the employees in ANY department will bother picking up the phone. When I try to find out why the orders are cancelled, I'm given the run-around. I'm on a fixed income, and that's the only reason I try to shop here, but the advertised prices are ALWAYS higher at check-out. It's nothing but a bait-and-switch, and they really don't care about customer satisfaction. After what I went through today with these rip-off artists, I doubt I'll order anything from them again. read more
