Overall I love this store. I understand the unfortunate need for putting items behind lock and key. Theft is rampant, the police will not arrest people for shoplifting (so unless one has honor there's no deterrent). I get that in the long run these restrictions will save me money, but I have been standing in front of the pens, pushing the button, spoke to three employees on their way by (none of which had keys but promised to send someone). Gratefully, employee #3 followed through herself for which I am grateful after standing there for nearly 30 minutes. Hopefully, they will get a system for answering the button pushes, letting people know there's a however many minute wait..... which would require an organized plan for opening the cases. First thing is more employees with case keys.... I wish they could just 86 people who they catch shoplifting. It is a private business! Then instead of spending all that money on locked up display cases and extra employees, they could just spend a little on a machine you scan your thumb when you walk in and unless the machine beeps you're good to go. I'm sure there's problems with that idea I was just so frustrated standing there for so long thinking that if people weren't such a low lives I wouldn't have to stand there for so long! read more

I live in Mt. Shasta and it gets cold here in the winter. While in Redding tonight I wanted to run in real quick and get some new winter duds for my little pug puppy; aka tater tot and lots of other nicknames. I was able to pick him up a sweater and a coat! Too cute and I got them just in time because it started snowing by the time we got home. As my friend Ruben P.says, "have fear". I saw a big boned woman wearing a micro mini so tight I thought she was going to start a fire from the friction she was generating while walking. And you can almost bet she did have friction infection by the time she got home. Out in the parking lot I saw a man in a BMW leaving with a bale of hay in his trunk. That's awesome right?! No, because nothing beats the woman I saw shopping, at the Medford Walmart, in a one piece bathing suit! People watching at it's finest! read more

In the last 6 months, I've really seen this store go downhill. Not only did my cart have square wheels, but one of them was split and ready to fall off. I was approached by beggars in the parking lot and believe they stole my registration tags when I told them I had nothing to give. Extortion! I can't believe of all places, there is a super Walmart in Redding. Why can't we have one in the Bay Area? A full-on supermarket inside a Walmart? Went in at 10pm and there were closed, even with the store hours said 11pm. There were over ten people outside wanting to go shopping. It is hard to get shopping done when you are off work late and when stores have set times on there door and are closing early it makes it even more difficult. read more

Went this morning Around 9, good time to go,hardly anyone there! Love it I DISLIKE the fact that you have to ask for someone to open the perfume case,even for the cheap $3.00 body spray! AND you have to pay for it at the jewelry counter. I waited...and waited.... to even be aknowlaged by the woman working there, granted she was helping another customer on the ohter side, she could have said I'll be rite with you or something! We all know what Walmart is and they're all pretty similar across the board. Foodmaxx and Winco has some shady-looking people standing outside their stores sometimes but I think this Walmart takes the cake. There are campers sprawled all across their parking lot. Poor/no service at it's best. Went to the photo counter at 7pm to print a picture, just needed to use the self service machine. The photo center was closed and the self service machines were covered. 20 ft away was the electronics counter, guy was doing nothing. I asked and he said the photo person called in sick and they didn't have anyone to man the counter. Really? He can't cover both, he wan't doing anything. Will never go back. Customer service is not the best. Some younger employees seem bored and are rude. When I asked a simple question about something, one of the lady employees answered with an attitude.. because duh! How could I not already know that answer?? Silly me! I think customer service training needs to be revisited, because that is no way to talk to a customer if you want them to return. Only reason I'm giving two stars is because not all the employees are like that. When I asked another question to an older employee, he simply answered it and that was that. I think most people know what Walmart is? So I'll write about how this particular is different. This Walmart is a supercenter which means they have food and produce. The produce is a bargain but foodmax has way better produce for the money. Their meat is not that great a deal either. Other than that this Walmart is HUGE. This means that you have enough space where you are not running into people. Also not sure why anybody would use the Walmart pharmacy. I personally prefer rite aid. I went to Walmart once and talked to their pharmacist, it took forever for me to be able to talk to them. They weren't at all helpful and I ended up getting a medication that made a cough I had worst. A couple days later I go to Rite Aid and they tell me to stop taking that and they give me something better and cheaper and I immediately feel better. Another time I tried to get tired here (before I ended up at American Tire which was also a mistake). The employees there do not seem to care. They did not have the right tires stocked. If I asked someone a question they didn't know cuz it wasn't their department and they sent me somewhere else. I even had to talk to someone on the phone. It's like Walmart purposefully tries to fragmentize their departments so that nobody has any big role and any big responsibility. That way no employee can make or break a store. This means that employees are not given the insentive to care about their job! Why should they? They don't get paid for that! Anyway go here if you won't need help with choosing and if you are looking for good prices or just even if you just have an afternoon off and want to spend sometime marveling at how many things this place has. i know what you're thinking, five stars? Really i love Walmarts prices, just hate the shopping experience. I recently tried the online grocery app and love it. Order everything you want in the comfort of your own home and then go and pick it up. WhooHoo, Yes Please. Epic, saves me at least an hour each week. What an incredible experience. Thank god for technology. My groceries are neatly bagged and brought out to my vehicle. Came over to buy a gallon of water, then found that out of there many check out counters, only two were open. I counted over 25 people waiting inline per counter. What is the matter with this store? If I could leave less than one star I would. With covid going on I recently had a surgery and I am at risk. I had to order tape on line which gave an option for pick up. When I went to call the store to check on my order I asked them how we do the pick up. They told me I had to come into the store and they would not do curbside pick up. I spoke with the manager and told them of my high risk status due to covid and I had to take extra precautions. She was cold and flat, did not care. WILL NOT DO my grocery shopping there either any more due to this. SAFEWAY in Redding went out of there way for me and did shopping for me and brought it to my car, no matter how many items. Customer service sucks at this place ...i went there this morning after work ..to return an ink cartridge i had bought on oct 7 well the lady at the electronics dept told me that 220i is the same as 220 . so i came home and nope didnt fit so i just took it back today oct 29 and this lady is giving me a hard time about my return or exchange...starts so i am trying to be nice and she tells me i should have brought it bach sooner excuse me "Michelle" the front store superviser ..i am so sorry i dont have the time that day or next day to bring it back ...so she starts getting rude well she was rude when she first came up. Went to the auto care center. Asked for tires to be balanced and got an oil change. When I went to pay only th oil had been done. The guy the greeted us didn't even know what I was driving.(Chevy Tahoe 2004). I am traveling so I requested several times to not move the driver seat because I there is a bunch of stuff behind the seat. Come out to my vehicle and the seat is moved back even further potentially breaking what I have behind my seat. read more

We got scammed this Christmas so that's nice we ordered a "refurbished windows pro" something like that on their website and it was delivered dirty with scratches on it, I opened it for Christmas, it was supposed to be my gaming pc but I turned on the laptop and it kept saying error like tons of times, we checked the time and date setting and it was set to 2013! I took it to my uncle who is a top pro at fixing laptops and it was OUTDATED! I was in the Redding California Walmart SuperCenter approx 30 min before closing and needed assistance to get get some socks and underwear from behind the locked cabinet and the fitting room attendant very rudely let me know that she would not assist me and to take my final purchases to the register. Sooooooo irritated! Went to Walmart and my sons main source of food Gogo squeeze banana yogurt was listed on tag as $2 (has been this price for years) when I went to the register to ring it up it came up $2.98, so I tell the guy and he has the customer service manager come up so she can do a price check...we stand there for almost 20 minutes waiting for her to come back when I finally offered to go get the tag myself after she left already to check price, I get to the isle and she is coming back with tag in hand and very aggressively and rudely proceeds to tell me that she can only honor the price on ONE box of the yogurt. Very upset about this! I came home with one box of yogurt because I can't afford the extra damn dollar on 20boxes of yogurt! I could have gone to target and got a pack of 10 for $5.19 but Walmart wants to charge $2.98 for a box of 4, what a joke! I let a friend take her daughter to the doctor in Redding yesterday. Her prescription was being filled at Walmart. In the parking lot she, and her daughter were confronted by a woman yelling and hitting my car with her duffel bag. Because the parking lot was so congested, she tried to alert the security guard by yelling. Finally was able to drive towards him, and at this point the woman BROKE out my back driver's side window, shattering glass everywhere. The security guard had called the police, but did not pursue the woman. By the time the police arrived, the woman had left. I have a broken window in my SUV; and you have nuts running around your parking lot vandalizing your customers! read more

I called into the Auto Center to ask a simple question, the lady that answered( did not give me her name), placed me on hold. I sat on hold for over five minutes with no contact. I hung up and called back, she asked if I could hold, I replied no that I had already been on hold. she told me she was the only one there and I would have to wait. I asked to speak with management. On the phone comes Reggie, the Shop Manager( I thought she was the only one there. This was the worst customer service I have had in a long time. Customer service "0" stars. Here's a tip Walmart, if you are trying to prevent theft and minimize shrink by locking up select items, I suggest having employees that have the keys available to unlock them. I waited for a half an hour, asked three different people to call for assistance and finally someone waited with me who actually cared to make sure that I got help. I had a fussy baby with me and frozen food in the car because I didn't think it would take that long to buy a bike tire. Then after someone finally showed up with keys, he wouldn't give me the tire because he had to ring it up himself, but I still needed to buy baby formula! He was so insensitive and unhelpful I couldn't believe it. I have had numerous negative experiences there and every time it's another issue. I suggest teaching your employees respect and customer service so you don't lose more customers. Luckily the two other female employees stood up for me and put the tire in my cart themselves and got upset with him, because they couldn't believe the experience I was having either. I've run out of nice things to say about this store. Photo dept. lost my order in their system twice but charged me. Rude employee in pharmacy told me to wait 45 minutes for prescription that was sent over by my doctor the day prior. 3 times over the course of 2 months I was unable to purchase jewelry because 1) the only employee with the key went on vacation with it 2) no body knew who had the key and left it at that for 20 minutes x 3 employees 3) the employee with the key doesn't work on Monday or Tuesdays. Additionally whenever I ask for assistance, the employee without the answer leaves it at that, never asking another employee. If you want to speak to a manager, be prepared for the run around trying to locate the employee with a radio! The store "remodel" is a shopping nightmare and so unorganized, and my favorite...walked in yesterday to the money center being CLOSED. No sign, no posted hours, and it took 10 minutes for the receipt nazi to find out that , clean they closed early for computer problems". So I couldn't receive the emergency cash for an emergency situation. I've decided to drive the extra distance to Anderson where the store is clean, organized, less crowded,, friendlier and not every item is locked up giving me 20 minutes for each item back to my day. I'll begin by saying this Walmart is a hot mess. I just stood in the self checkout line for 22 minutes. By the time a register opened up for me to use, I counted 18 people behind me in that line. I felt horrible for the gentleman working there at the self checkout, I believe his name is Dick, because he was doing his best to make it run smoothly. 6 out of the 8 registers had run out of cash, so they were card use only. That's not his fault. But for those of us needing to pay with cash, we had to wait on the 2 registers that were still taking it. How in the freaking world do you not have an item limit on your self checkout area?! There was a customer with an overflowing cart of crap taking her sweet time on one of the two registers taking cash. And the lady on the other one had half as much as her in her cart. Do you not realize that the self checkout lanes are for customer convenience? That crap right there is anything but convenient. Do your customers AND your employees a solid, and limit the number of items that can be checked out in that area. read more

This is one of the worst Walmart's I have ever been to.Their stocking practices are astonishing, & not in a good way! Its ""training"", & who they hire. Invariably it always comes down to MANAGEMENT!! they don't keep an eye on each department. You have to take pride in your work & really care about ethics ,which this store obviously don't.
