It's a huge deterrent when a huge amount of merchandise is locked up and requires an "associate " to unlock it and then they take the it up to one register. Push a help button and wait FOREVER!!!! Nobody feels the need to answer the call. Nope!!! Lost my business. This is the stuff that makes Amazon the winner and for better prices. Lack of employees to create an efficient situation, more self check out registers than there are with cashiers. Self check outs are constantly kicking scanned items back to wait for an associate. How is that efficient l? One associate chasing after a dozen self checkout stations. It's a joke. The company makes a lot of money and reduced their workforce down to skeleton crews. It shows. I have waited for 30min + after pushing the button and calling the store from my cell phone and then I just gave up. After going to the "Vision Center" and spending a hundred and fifty bucks on glasses, I decided to wander the store a bit and see if I could find a ROKU or other media player. After a salesperson approached me and asked if He could help my find anything, I told him no I'd holler if I needed help. Finally after wandering a bit and 'window shopping' I made it to the Media Player area, bent over to read what media sources the ROKU played...(they were all behind a locked glass door) and became aware of a pair of legs standing 18" from me... for like a minute and a half. Looking up finally I see it's the same IDIOT salesperson who says "It's OK You're Fine".... I was not fine. I was furious!! I was a store planner and ad exec for Target and other stores for 30 goddam years and I hardly look suspicious... I immediately got up and stomped out of the store and, after I get my glasses I'm not going back. EVER. This store is continually getting worse. Low stock levels. Few checkstands open. Now with the locking up of items it's like they don't want you to spend money there. We waited for a half hour today for someone to come unlock the case to get a dog flea collar. Pushed the button multiple times and even walked to the front of the store twice with no luck. There were 3 "customer service" people standing in the front. Still no luck. Finally gave up and bought elsewhere. Last time I bought the employee handed it to me to take and check out myself. Really disappointed in the Walmart Photo Center. I have come in there before to have normal pictures developed & it's usually such a convenient and quick process. I love that you can just plug in your mobile device & pull up the image you want printed off. For simple prints, the price & speed of the Walmart Photo Center kiosks cannot be beat- however their quality leaves much to be desired. Today I came in at noon & requested a 16x20 in faux canvas print be made & they offered same day pick up. The ticket they gave me for when I was supposed to return to the store said it would be available by 5:04PM tonight. I stopped by Walmart again at 4:00PM to grab some groceries & see if it was possibly ready early. I walked by the photo center and there was my canvas printed off but not attached to any backing & the associate who was supposedly working on it- was up on the counter doing absolutely nothing. The associate literally set my print aside and was physically down on his hands and knees on the countertop not doing anything to finish my print. When I asked another associate if he could tell me how long it may take for my print to be ready, he simply said "I'll have someone get working on it as soon as possible and if you need to leave the store then it's fine, we hold onto the print for a long time". Center entrance was closed since it was only two hours after opening but I've always gone through the single door on the side. Employees have always told me to go that way. Two ppl today in front of me went in and as I was about to, an employee told me I can't go through that way, as four ppl were exiting out that door as well. I've used this door for years. Unless label "employees only" how the fuck are you going to tell me I can't use that door when two people in front of me just walked through and you didn't say shit to them. Put some cones out front of the entrance or something to show that it's closed and maybe I won't park near the damn area. Get all of your employees on the same damn page. read more

I was next in line, but after over an hour of watching them attending to every vehicle that came in after me, I left. I purchased a couch from Ktaxon through Walmart and it arrived defective. I can't even put the couch together. Ktaxon refused to respond to any of my emails so I filed fraud with my bank. Then Ktaxon charged me again and finally wrote back saying the couch is fine. The couch is not fine. It's defective and I can't put it together, there are spring marks all over the cushions and very minimal filling. Originally I wanted a replacement piece but after dealing with them I requested a full refund. Both Walmart and Ktaxon have ran me in circles. Their solution is I pay $360 of my own money to purchase new boxes to send the couch back. This is a defective item in their end and they were contacted within the return window timeframe. This is ridiculous that they can't either provide me with boxes to return the item or have a truck come pick it up. The walmart website has been ruined by their technical management team! I spent hundreds of dollars online in the last few years because I cannot leave my house. Now, I cannot find my last order on the site, it is confusing, they redirect inquiries to try to sell books? They have not listened to feedback from customers for the last 3 months as they changed format to only portrait view, for example, other viewing changes has turned it in to a maze of graphic squares. One cannot see a reorganized cart as to what, when ,where has been ordered. Customer account information areas have been renamed and called a wallet? So sad, I have to stop depending on them. read more

All Walmart's provide the same shopping experience. This, this one was no different. The stores layout is confusing, especially from store to store. Their is clutter in the aisles from stockers leaving boxes in front of shelves. Went in to purchase baby items and needed help. After speaking with an employee who "didn't work in that department", I waited longer while she allegedly called for someone to show up and assist me. Needless to say, no help arrived. I tried to buy groceries from there and I got into the slowest line ever!! That being said, due to Covid-19, u would think they would have every register open. Getting people out of the store quickly should have been top priority. No social distancing signs or even attempts made to direct customers to not stand so close to each other. I simply left the basket full of groceries in the line and left. Arrived at Target, purchased the following: baby items, groceries, furniture items, books and earbuds!!! Need I say more? Yes. I traveled across town at night to get something from Walmart that my household needed and as I approached the door the security guard said they're closed and I told them the stated time of closing online is 11pm. He said they don't let anyone in past 10:45. I wouldn't have traveled 6 miles across town had the closing time been the correct time which is 10:45. I never go to this store, but I today discovered online that they happened to carry the right kind of sandpaper for my small power sander in the right grit. So I made my way to the hardware department. Oh, the sandpaper is locked up; no problem, I will find an "associate" and have them unlock it. Fifteen minutes later, after chasing down several harried and/or clueless employees, we came ti the realization that the key to this cabinet is actually held by the Secret Service. Apparently there is some bizarre system whereby employees are not allowed to page for help directly. One poor lad had to be put on hold so that someone else could page that a customer needed help in hardware. Couldn't hear the page anyway and of course nobody showed up Left without buying anything and no need to ever go back. Ordered what I needed off eBay. I feel pity for people who think for some reason that they need to shop at this lousy store. As I walked out I saw long lines and tired looking customers. This is the most awesome Walmart I have ever been in, and its certainly one of the most interesting things you can do in Redding. I'm from out of town, stopped here to grab some camping equipment for some spontaneous camping while visiting a friend in Shasta. The place was absolutely packed....and this was a good thing, because even after I got what I came for, I just hung around to watch people. Almost everyone there needed motorized assistance! The people that could walk on their own were sweating and panting as though they had just run a marathon.....virtually everyone was morbidly obese. Oh my goodness....and if you took every customer in the entire place and put them all together...you still wouldn't have a full mouth of teeth. Those that had seen some kind of exercise in their lives had tiny legs with huge arms, which were usually covered in 1990's style bad tribal and gang writing tattoos. Tribal tats I didn't understand...as most of these dudes look like they were been born in the 90's. Didn't get the gang writing tats either.....I never would have thought that there could be so many ghetto fabulous people in a place like REDDING. There were a few wealthy people walking around....I could tell because they had shoes with laces. No where in the world will you find a larger collection of men who grow out facial hair....that are really incapable of growing facial hair. Its like dozens of people just did shots of Nestle's chocolate milk in the parking lot or something. There are fairly normal looking teen girls wearing virtually nothing, and walking hand in hand with middle aged crank addicts. This was disturbing, but I made peace with it, as I understand that many 3rd world cultures recognize the arranged marriage tradition. The highlight of the experience, was seeing a young corn toothed gentleman attack another patron for apparently glancing momentarily at his mo mo wearing walrus of a girlfriend. While they locked horns in mortal combat, she continuously cried out in a mad meth driven voice, hoarse from many years of heavy smoking....."get him baby.....Do him like you done Joey!!!" Fascinating..... this really had me interested....it begged so many more questions! Who was Joey? and What had her "baby" done to him? I highly recommend a trip to Walmart if you are visiting the Redding area.....its basically like going on safari.....with camoflauge as far as the eye can see. read more

Two stars for cheapness, but the parking sucks, the help is negligible, the location is difficult to access, and they're expanding it right now, so parking is even worse. Sigh. i go there because it IS the cheapest place in Redding for certain items (batteries, camping gear), but it's a chore, and I HATE it. I was OK with Walmart until the Black Friday of 2010. In the sale advertisements, Walmart showed a Nintendo DS for cheap (I think $89, I can't remember). The add also said that the item would be available only from 5AM - 11AM. So like a dummy (and it being my first Black Friday), I wake up at 3:30, had a quick breakfast and got to Walmart at 4:20AM. Lots of people in the store already. I went directly to the back where the computer games are sold and saw a manager (he had a tag on). I asked him where do I line up for the advertised Nintendo DS? He replied, "we've sold out already." I said, "it's not even 5AM yet." He replied, "we're open 24 hours." A**HOLE. Anyway, I was so pissed that I left empty handed and waited in the parking lot for Shopko to open at 5. And what was nice about Shopko, everything that they had advertised WAS ON THE FLOOR for sale. I am now weaning myself away from Walmart. I got too used to the cheap prices. But now with the bad economy and Americans losing their jobs to cheaper labor overseas, I think I would rather spend a little more money on an item MADE IN AMERICA, by Americans. This Walmart is rapidly going down hill. Talking to one of the employees. They stated that last year over a million dollars inventory was stolen from this store. I understand why the are locking every thing up. However, they need to do something about the service. I waited 1 hr. For razor blades. Then they wanted to walk them to a register. I went back another day and wanted a case for a cell phone. The employee working grabbed one for another customer out of the same case. And walked away. Told me he would come back after he checked that person out. Then the line got long. After about 20 minutes I decided just to order it off amazon. And they got a new female door greeter who is simply a Royal bitch. I have walked by her several times. And she is always the same. To bad Walmart doesn't care about the customers.
