The meat department is super here. They had NY steaks on sale last week for about $6.00 bucks a pound, but ran out, so I got a rain check. They'll cut them whatever thickness you like. I was told to get some thick ones for Valentine's day, so I went back today and they didn't have any packaged, but I saw some thick nice ones in the meat case, about $15.00 a pound. With this rain check I was able to get the sale price of $6 a pound, so that saved a ton of money! The steaks looked real good too. Save mart is such an easy and nice store to deal with! I love the restaurant inside called The Tipping Point. Best nachos for a great price and easily shareable between 2 adults. The loaded nachos are always a hit for me. I got it with fire grilled chicken and it comes with thick crispy chips, refried beans, Cotija cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo and nacho cheese with a little bar on the side to get extra condiments. The area is also super clean and they have indoor and outdoor seating too. This little spot is perfect for a snack, meal or even a draft beer. read more

I am sorry to say I had an unpleasant experience at this store this morning. I am a very smiling and happy person. I was one of a handful of customers in the store and I came across five different employees who never even acknowledged me. It was like I was invisible. When I checked out the experience was not any better. The checker was nice enough just not friendly and the young man bagging the groceries couldn't manage to get my cold items into the ice bag even though I requested he do that and there was ample room. After spending over $150 I was not offered any help out or even thanks for coming in today, even though I was the only one checking out in the whole store. I now remember why this was only my second time shopping there in four years. read more

I really want to like this store. It's clean, it has some unique features available, and I like that it's in South Redding. The reason why it loses 2 stars is its product stock severely lacks. I understand there are certain product shortages like eggs. But time and time again they are out of chicken, pork, or beef. Today my shopper tried to grab a couple of steaks and was informed they were pretty well out of beef by the meat cutter. Please start ordering more stock. read more

I'm so sad to see this place go downhill, when they first open they had the very best Wood-Fired grilled chicken and tri-tip in Redding. Now the food they serve has really dropped in quality and taste. Most notably though Wood fired grilled chicken, which I'm most certain is not at all prepared the way it was when they first opened. The quality of meat, flavor, the way it's prepared is nothing like it was before, the chicken is neon yellow and the texture is almost as if it's boiled in chicken broth, a complete contrast to the chicken they used to serve. 9/21 I had the steak salad from the Tipping point cafe. The salad was fabulous, steak, salsa, corn and guacamole . There were chips on the side too. The salad was hearty and I had left overs for dinner too. Today 11/21/21 I had the pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw. It too was mouth watering. The meat was cooked perfectly with sweet crusty burnt ends . The salad was good too and tangy. The salad was small and I added it to the sandwich, it was a tasty addition I give both meals 5 stars. The layout of the store was great, the selections were great, and the employees were kind. However the management was terrible. We watched both what we assume to be the manager of the store railing on his employees right on the floor in front of customers. That is incredibly disrespectful to both the employees and to the customers to do so. We also witnessed what seemed to be another person in management being horrible to another employee in the produce section, right in front of customers. It makes sense if this is the management style. However, they're simply asking for fast turn over, disgruntled employees, and for their store to go downhill really fast! Such a bummer. read more

Such a clean, big store. The meat cooking is so convenient & delicious! They offer cook to order or ready to go. Just grab a some meat off the shelf (which by the way are inside closed door refrigerators & not sitting on open shelves, not sure if it being properly stored like all other supermarkets) and take it to the helpful guys behind the counter & ask them to cook it. The meat has a great char on it. We reheated the steaks and it was perfectly cooked & tasted better than most restaurants. And the price is less too! They even grilled chicken with teriyaki glaze & topped it with pineapple! The bakery goods are so delicious. They use real butter for sure! The coconut pecan cookies melt in your mouth. The frozen food section is massive with great quality of items. I haven't tried the little restaurant or smoothie bar yet, but it looks good. I will admit the fruit & vegetable section is small & limited though. But what they have is fresh. And I am on the fence about the staff. Some seem young & immature. They have pretty personal conversations around the customers. Others although are more mature & so helpful. So its hit or miss. Its more pricey then some other stores, but I think its worth it. I find cheaper stores sell expired food & have limited selection. Man, I can't stop thinking about that mouth watering steak from them! read more

If I could leave 0 stars after how I was talked to I would. I simply ordered potato wedges from "The Tipping Point" They smelled great but as soon as I opened the box I was surprised to see 6 wedges for $8 seems really steep. I was also extremely dissatisfied by the taste. The fryer was obviously not up to temp because they were pure mush. I didn't have much time and decided to just eat a couple in my car in the parking lot before heading back to my work. I picked up my second wedge and noticed a long hair wrapped around it more than once. I closed the box and went back inside only to be talked to like I was the problem. The woman who i first spoke with tried to tell me it was a "corn hair" because they use the same fryer. I've never seen such a long curly corn hair. Then she instantly got defensive with me and told me they were short staffed so she couldn't do anything to help me. That's not an excuse for poor food quality and a code violation. The $8 was not worth me arguing with her about so I decided to cut my losses but I feel they should be aware of the employees actions and attitude. I really liked this place when they first opened but it's gone drastically downhill since. read more

Although it is a fairly new, it's still very clean looking. Makes for a good place to shop. The prices are very high so we have to comparison shop. Like the wines. Price is at least $3.00 higher on some wines. Then other stores. And of course the stores seem to play the High Lower game. We eat organic and are label readers. Of course there seems to be lists on what to run out of to force the sale of the other like products. We know where to shop if a shelve is empty. It is time consuming. But we do it! To whom it may concern, On June 9, 2022 my husband and I purchased cod from your 4631 Churn Creek store in Redding, Ca. The following day we removed the wrapper and the smell was absolutely horrendous. We have fish quite often and know that fish can smell but this was like no other. My husband brought back the fish to the store immediately after opening it for a refund. At the time I could not locate the receipt but the price was on the wrapper. Your front store employee treated my husband like a crook! Telling him, he needed the receipt for a refund. The fish department employee was disgusted with him, saying he has had no other complaints. My husband was refunded after he was told this would be the last time. What! Since that store opened there was only one other time we returned an item and now I can't even remember what that item was because it was some time ago. We do not shop there weekly because of the high prices but that is our "go to" store when we need to pick up a few items or we want something from the bakery. We have never been treated like your store treated my husband from any store in our town. I shop at Winco and from time to time the bagged salad goes bad before the date and I let them know and they give me a fresh bag and without a receipt! Winco takes us at our word. Your store needs to learn how to treat their customers. I am writing this now because this morning I came across the receipt and thought I would send this to you so you would know we are not crooks. We have only been in that store one time since and that was for a birthday cake on the 19th. This will no longer be our "go to" store even with our high gas prices. We will be shopping elsewhere. If I could give zero stars I would!!! Nothing good to say here, I will start with the produce department. Lettuce wilted, so I went to get bagged salad, it was expired! Lemons had mold growing on them. Bought some NY steaks they where tough as shoe leather, after looking at the label discovered the where NOT USDA CHIOCE. They where sold out of 6 ad items, but to top it all off the service was terrible at this store. Employees at checkout standing around talking about personal matters rather then paying attention to the people paying their salary. This is for the Tipping point AND save mart. The tipping points food is delicious, however the wait is really long. I've been here maybe 3 or 4 times and it's the same every time. That being said. It's busy and popular and there's a lot of people. And it's delicious. Save mart is a great store, I'm from LA and their prices are really not that bad at all. Yeah depending on the product you're buying it can be expensive but overall. There's good deals. Unbelievable off the chart customer service just happened people ! My husband and I left our credit cards at home. It was unknown to us when we went to check out our dinner. Autumn waited on us and was super patient as I ran to to my car to scrounge all the cash I could find. I didn't have quite enough and she said no problem please let me.
