I ordered a 13inch computer sleeve case from Walmart.com, and they sent 15 inch. I kept the 15inch , and ordered another 13inch but to my surprise they sent 15inch again. On my account online you can return to store when you package it and have the store returns receipt. I when to Walmart Poway to return my order. The associate and the customer service manager told me their printing label is not working they are not going to accept it, gave me a number to call. I drove all the way to Walmart Santee, they have good customer service. Happy to help and they returned the item gave me a tracking number to know when my money is refunded. read more

I did the delivery option at this Walmart and it is such a time saver. Was able to do my grocery list online, pay, set a time I wanted to pick it up while on my couch. I went to pick up my groceries and called the number provided when I got there and a nice lady brought out my groceries with a bottle of water for me and loaded them in my car. All of this is no extra cost. Just paid for my groceries. If they do not have the item you asked for they try and find a comparable item at the same price or less and if you don't want it you can have it taken off. Very good service! read more

Today if I could give Poway Walmart negative 5 stars I would. I had found a handbag in a shopping cart when I was walking to my car. I took the handbag and checked for identification (which it had along with some other personal items) When I went in the store to report it I had asked for security and the Associate that I spoke to asked it she could help me. Showing her the handbag, I explained that I found it in the parking lot. She then told me "give it to me" I asked her if she would give me a receipt stating they now had accepted the handbag. She told me she would not give me a receipt stating Walmart had taken the lost handbag. She told be to give her the handbag and she will lock it up in the back. So I told her I will not give her the handbag without a receipt. She still refused and I told her she isn't getting the handbag without giving me a receipt then I will go to the Sheriff's Station since I know they will issue me a hand receipt when I turn it in. I'm walking back to my car and a young lady walks up and asks me if I had found a handbag in the parking lot. I asked her for her name and she stated it and it matched the identification that was in the handbag. I explained to the owner I was getting ready to go to the Sheriff's station because Walmart refused to give me a hand receipt for the bag. If this is the way Walmart deals with Good Samaritans when they turn in lost items this may later keep someone from turning in lost property. I wanted a hand receipt because I have a job that requires a security clearance and I don't want to risk losing it. I think if Walmart doesn't have a policy for giving receipts to people who turn in lost items turned in they should start. read more

It's like the freaking twilight zone in this place. Everyone who comes in here is a zombie and has no sense of awareness of where they are walking. Not 100% sure that even 1% speaks a language from this planet because nobody responds to any language. My favorite walmart compared to many other locations in San Diego. PROS: 1. Huge parking lot. 2. Nicely decorate area with plants. 3. Huge section for groceries. 4. Great prices on food. (Although I don't usually buy groceries here, I only buy food when I see something attractive at a good price) 5. Great prices for clothing. I get quality gym clothes here for less than $20 a piece! 6. Cashiers seem to be a lot friendlier here too. 7. They have almost everything you could need! CON: 1. In seventh grade, I did a report on Sam Walton and his influence on America through the success of Wal-Mart. Buying in bulk means cheaper per unit prices! Whodathunk they could change your oil for a decent buck too? One 5-minute check-the-car-and-sign-on-the-dotted-line, and one 30 minute shop-around-and-almost-buy-stuff-you-don't-need-but-get-reality-kicked-by-practical-sensed-significant-other-but-get-away-with-a-20-ounce-Diet-Pepsi later and your car is nice and "looby." Of course, quick waits only apply when there's no one ahead of you. Go on Sunday mornings or early early on the weekdays. If it's gonna take a GRIP of time (they'll let you know), there's a movie theater walking distance from Wal-Mart. read more

I honestly don't know why I still come here other than the fact that they're open 24 hours. The right hand side of the parking lot smells like they need to get their septic tank repaired. They must lack parking attendants because you have to swerve your car around rows and rows of carts. The produce is a 50/50 chance of being rotten. The meat they sell drips meat juice EVERYWHERE. There's only ever like 3 cash registers open in the store at all times, unless you're lucky around Christmas they'll open one more. They claim to be finished with the construction but it stinks to high heaven and the right side of the store looks like they just decided to stop construction all of a sudden and put a bow on a big piece of shit. read more

i waited for over 20 minutes for pick up assistance for customer service to tell me they couldnt help me and i had to call customer service over the phone! i called customer service and he offer no solution! both unhelpful!! passed by more than 5 employees no greeting or asked if i needed assistance. i was lifting a heavy object and one employee was working right behind me and saw that i was struggling but didn't offer help. another one did not greet me but asked me to move aside so she could refill the batter case without asking if i needed help, and when i asked for help she did not bother helping me just asking immediately for a supervisor and did not help at all. another cashier took an item that did not have a bar code , stated the obvious and did not bother asking for a price check she just took the item back ! i had to go accross the store and do another transaction because she did not bother to ask for a price check!!! horrible customer service , its appalling and makes me never want to come back -no customer service whatsoever -no willingness to help customers who are struggling to find something or need help getting something -picking up online orders takes over 25+ minutes it took me two employees to talk to a live person, which was already unhelpful after the wait (ps i was the first in line also!) -rude cashiers read more

I go to Walmart no more than three times a year - around my kids' bday. I hit this store up before I hit up Target for toys. There's something about this area that really creeps me out... I have been coming here for years and have drastically noticed the decrease in customer service and quality at this WalMart location. My recent visits I have noticed that most of the items are never stocked on the shelfs. My girlfriend and I usually go together and she goes to the cosmetics and noticed the change with the area sectioned off. The cashier in that section was not pleasant and needs better customer service skills or whoever wears those green vests around there. Everything is cased up now and requires assistance which the employees are never even fond of helping you. Avoid this Walmart if you want bad customer service and items constantly never being stocked/organized. read more

Boo, Wal-Mart! Well, not all Wal-Marts. Right now, I am booing THIS Wal-Mart. I am used to Wal-Marts that are open all the time. They want to satisfy Princess Kim's shopping compulsion. The Wal-Mart in Poway apparently doesn't want to satisfy. They close at midnight. Boo. They definitely have a smaller selection of cosmetic brands than other Wal-Marts. (No Mary-Kate and Ashley? You might laugh at the idea of buying something made by the Olsen twins' cosmetic line, but that's just fine. That means more Juicy Shine lip gloss in Vanilla Icing for me. You're missing out.) They also have some random additional items, though, that aren't carried in other places. (An Organic Options bar soap? Who knew?) The clientele here is definitely more...country. Not even in a small-town Kmart in the Central Valley of California have I seen a chick with a HUGE Confederate flag tattoo on her back. No, I saw that in the Poway Wal-Mart. There are some plus sides to shopping here, though. There usually aren't insane lines, nor insane crowds. It's just your average store in that regard, rather than the always-busy hellhole that some other Wal-Marts might seem. The store is clean. And, since they do close at midnight, you don't have to maneuver through a maze of boxes and pallets full of product blocking off aisles, nor ask for help from night stockers who just want to stock and go home. What more can I say? It's Wal-Mart. It has its pros and cons. read more

I agree with the other reviewers. This location definitely has more of a "country" feel to it. The parking here also sucks in that forget about even getting close to a door because the seniors and the minivans have taken all those stalls. Inside, meh it's a Wal-mart. Nothing too exciting. For those few times I have to go to a Wal-Mart I prefer the one off 805/Shawline. It seems to be cleaner although at both stores the people who go through the self-checkout seem to be mentally-challenged. It must be a "Wal-Mart customer" kind of thing. At least people watching at this one can be entertaining. The guys at the Poway Target are much better looking though. There's a Mickey D's inside for you dining pleasure and a greeter who ignores everyone who comes inside. Ironically, in the strip mall near the street on this property you have a bar and the DMV right next to each other. How convenient! FInally, as others have said the stoplights on Poway and the seniors toddling along Poway Rd are maddening at times. read more

The first time I ever set foot in a Walmart was in this one in Poway some 15+ years ago. At that time I had never heard of all the bad things about Walmart. In fact, I didn't know anything about Walmart and "that kind" of shopping. So I walked into the Walmart and...OMG!!!! I went into complete shock and awe after just a few moments. I felt like I had been swooshed off to some other planet! I had never seen anyone before like the people that I saw in that store! It was truly a frightening experience. What rock did those people crawl out from under? YIpes! I ran home and swore never to set foot in that store again. So now, in Lynnwood, I have found myself in the rare situation of needing something (usually a particular type of yarn) that my nearby Fred Meyer or Target is out of and find that the local Walmart might be my only salvation. The first time I dared to venture in I knew to brace myself, and yep, them same peeps from Poway was in that Lynnwood Walmart! YIPES!!! So I scuttled quickly to the yarn dept. that is nestled between the gun dept. and the home appliances. Got my yarn,checked out in "Rifles" and skeedaddled! I rarely go back. early december i bought two 26" Genesis bikes and soon thereafter i had them assembled by Handy.com. One bike neither handy.com rep could fix damaged peddle. tried other peddles from Walmart Burbank and these did not work. after a week of fighting with walmart for a refund of bike and assembly, i received the right refund - note i went through a special customer service 800 number; yesterday the other bike that i purchased its peddle came off, had to pay 10$ to fix, also a Genesis bike 26". who ever the vendor is they manufacture cheap bikes; same issue peddles same brand. read more

That day I came here for the first time. My god. The layout of the store. No. Just no. I am not a fan of Wal-Mart stores, but wtf is going on with the aisles here? I have never been to such a department store that makes me feel extremely claustrophobic by the layout of the aisles. Even looking for the cereal I wanted was a pain in the ass. That extra star though? It's for a surprisingly great customer service I got from a gentleman in the electronics aisle who helped me try to find out what the problem was with my phone after I had a horrible experience at an AT&T store that day. Hate how the layout makes me claustrophobic, & I don't generally like Wal-Mart, but the guy in the electronics aisle gets an honorable mention. read more

This location is always lacking employees on registers. I swear every time I go in.... there is maybe 3 people working the registers. Never friendly...most companies now have the chip reader on all register stations and half the time these don't work. When they do most people Don't know how to use them and take there sweet time checking out. If you love waiting in line , rude people and uninterested staff . This is your place!!! my favorite part of standing in line is being crop dusted by other trolls... Honestly Walmart is no ones favorite place to go and shop, but hey, they (most) always have what you need! The customer service is soso but I like their gardening section, its so large. They have veggies and stuff as well as the flowers that way you can grow all kinds of stuff. After many years fighting with the city of Poway, walmart has started construction on changing this location to a super store. The renovations seem slow, however, the flow and operation of the current store has remained the same. They have figured out how to be under construction, and not change up the shopping of the customers. It's as if there is no construction going on at all. I can't wait for the super store to be completed. Tip: you can no longer access walmart from the back entrance (off midland) use community rd entrance. read more

This is the third time that I have used this pharmacy. Definitely the last. First of all, my doctor called in a prescription today to Walmart. When I called they said there was no call from the doctor. My doctor had to call 4 times!!! Each time I called they could not get it straight. Then when I went to pick it up they were rude. I did a pick-up order with Walmart and was very disappointed. I've tried it twice now and it was chaotic. It's a great idea, but the implementation at this store is really poor. The first time, there was all sorts of confusion about where to park and pick up the items, then they couldn't find our order. The 2nd time, the on-line system forced me to pick a pick-up time and when I missed it, I got a harassing call from Rick to scold me. When I told him that pick-up isn't so convenient if I have to work around Walmart's schedule, he told me it was to "keep everyone from coming at once". Rethink this Walmart! CUSTOMER SERVICE- 4 STARS Employees here seem friendlier and get the work quicker than most other Walmarts I've been to. They are also always helpful when I need it! ATMOSPHERE- 5 STARS Usually not as overpacked as other Walmarts, which I love! This also means that lines aren't as long and slow like other Walmarts. Honestly, the shoppers here also seem friendlier and more relaxed than in other Walmarts as well. CLEANLINESS- 5 STARS No complaints, really. Usually as clean and tidy as can be expected! PRODUCTS- 5 STARS Great selection! There are also many Great Value (Walmart branded) options that are cheaper and work/taste just as great as brand name items. I always use Great Value items when available! PRICING- 5 STARS Great pricing! Generally better than Target unless Target has a sale. Unfortunately, Walmart never really has sales, only some rollbacks. I compare pricing very often and I find that Walmart is usually the best option when purchasing (unless they need to be purchased in bulk, but even then, Walmart can usually get pretty close). For reference, I usually compare their prices against Amazon and Vons as well. PARKING- 5 STARS Large parking lot, will always find a spot somewhere. OVERALL IMPRESSION DEFINITELY RECOMMEND, this is my favorite Walmart! read more

So I try not to frequent the megastores because I would like to support mom and pop stores... end of soapbox rant. Anyway, my mom made me go, so in we went. This has to be my least favourite location of Wal-Mart. This is not a Super Wal-Mart... let's just get that straight right now. The first thing I don't like about this Wal-Mart... the size of the aisles. Really it isn't that busy, I should know, I lived in Evansville, home to the second busiest Wal-Mart in 'merica... I sure do not want to see the first busiest because trips to the Evansville Wal-Mart were a nightmare. However, the size of the aisles has something to do with the congestion and the feeling that no one knows how to steer a shopping cart! And adding bins of stuff to the aisles doesn't help this problem one bit. And it seems like I'm not the only one who thinks the staff here are probably the least friendliest and least helpful. Checking out takes a decent amount of time because 1) either there aren't enough staff at registers (I never get the huge amount of registers at the front that are never in use... at any store) or 2) they are really slow about it. I need to help my mom find a new location of Wal-Mart... or just stop going altogether. read more

It was a Tuesday, at 11:30 p.m., and I needed a quick gifty for the next day and wouldn't have time to pick anything up before hand...this is how I ended up here.... The point of Walmart's grocery pickup is to help people like me - two toddlers and pregnant - not have to get everyone out of the car and deal with tantrums in the store. I spent 20 minutes online ordering my food and then thought I would just swing by and pick it up with the kids in the car. NOPE! It took 40 minutes to get my stuff from pickup! By the time my groceries arrived to my car my kids were crying and losing it. I could have shopped with kids in tow for less than 40 minutes in the store. Ridiculous. Also, when the lady came out, she didn't even apologize for the wait. They are either understaffed or very unorganized. read more

I have mobility issues and now depend on the electric scooters in the major stores to do my shopping. Three visits to Walmart have me wondering what happened to customer service and courtesy!! My husband drops me off at the front door and I slowly walk in the store looking for the scooters. No Greeters visible two of my three visits. No scooters. Track down an employee and ask for help and am brushed off when I ask for them to call to find a scooter. Twice am told to walk to the other door. If I could walk that block to the other door, I wouldn't need the scooter in the first place. After 15 minutes of waiting, my husband has finally gone down to Customer Service and found and secured a cart for me. This happens every time. Seniors - I think it is time to head to Target where they do assist and have plenty of scooters. read more

Ive never waked into a place where it seems everyone does not want to work there until this WM:( Im from the east coast and Super WM were the place to go for anything and it seems the ppl were always happier, but here not so much. Although there is a greeter that I do love, her voice is sooo funny, makes me smile whenever I go in and she is there. There is a extremely rude front end manager who works there, I had a problem with a coupon being one penny more than the item and he made me feel like a criminal because I wanted to use it. Their coupon policy states they will adjust the item for the coupon. I guess I will carry their coupon policy with me when I go back, for my once every 3 months now trip :( Because I that I have been going to other stores for what I need, even if its more :( read more

POOR Customer service. Never expected much from Walmart but this was really a VERY UNFORGETTABLE and perhaps one of the reasons I am NEVER going to shop there. I am a Poway resident. I went to the Poway branch on 05/18/18 at around 7PM to get a tulle for a project. There was no staff in the fabric section so upon scouting the aisles, I found help! LISA is her name and she went with me to the fabric section. I told her that the customers (2 ladies who where there together) were ahead of me but since I only had 1 fabric to buy, the ladies told LISA to go ahead and assist me first as they had about 5 fabrics to purchase. LISA said to the first customer "well you already have the fabric laid out so it will be easier if I cut yours first". The customer replied "I have more than one and she only has one so you can assist her first". LISA was arguing her case to a point that the other customer was apologizing to me. Yap, THE CUSTOMER is APOLOGIZING TO ME (a customer myself) FOR THE STAFF's DEMEANOR so the premise that "customer is always right went out the door". I guess LISA, the store employee who is supposed to be assisting a customer who wants to purchase from Walmart is always right. After LISA cut the fabric, she proceeded getting the other fabric for which the customer POLITELY said " let her go first" (that's me). Then LISA now states since she started with her fabric, she has to do all her fabrics first so it will be one ticket. MIND YOU, the customer ahead of me TOLD LISA in THE FIRST PLACE to let me go ahead because OF THIS REASON. When Lisa, did not comply, the other customer apologized to me AGAIN for the employee (yes, you read it, LISA IS ALWAYS RIGHT!). If the manager of Poway Walmart or Walmart customer service section is reading this, I am holding you accountable for your staff's behavior. Amazon is gaining majority of the retail market and if you don't act fast, it may be too late (JUST LOOK AT YOUR YELP RATING!) PLS LOOK INTO THIS! With only one register working you would think they would notify customers as they enter the store of the extreme delays however as unprofessional as always the Walmart stuff at this location don't bother to communicate anything to the customers but let them form an extremely long line with expectations and hopes of being able to purchase your items. Genuinely, I am not a fan of Walmarts. One thing I really hate about chain stores is they have a bunch of them all over town, but NONE of them are the same on the inside. It's just plain confusing and I might as well be in a completely different store all together. Well, this Walmart wasn't as grueling to go through as some of the other locations. I don't know if this is due to the fact that it is tucked in a pocket of Poway people don't want to lug themselves out to. It's the closest one to Mira Mesa, besides the one on Aero Drive. Ok. Let me start this off by saying, I understand that being a cashier is a difficult and emotionally taxing job but that does not give the cashiers here to be so sarcastic and rude to the customers. Me and a friend, whom has high anxiety on top of ptsd were going through and getting our groceries scanned by an employee named Luba (that was what was on the name tag) and my friend accidentally spilled some blue berries from a container and I went to go get a new one but as I left my friend very timidly told the cashier and she snapped and loudly proclaimed "Wonderful" in a sharp and nasty tone. My friend does not handle confrontation well and instantly she started to panic, she even offered to clean up the mess herself as Luba came with a broom. Luna ignored her countless times before she sheepishly took the broom and started sweeping, even the older woman gehind us was checking on my poor friend who was almost at the brink of tears by this point because after ignoring her, Luba got the team lead because apparently my friend was not going quite fast enough. I'm livid at this point and glaring at the cashier trying to talk to her but she doesn't respond. So I decide to wait and hopefully find a manager after we check out. My friends hands were shaking and you could see the tears welling up in her eyes, her face was red and she couldn't look anyone in the eyes because she started having an anxiety attack. After we get to a manager it seemed as if it was shrugged off with a non reassuring "I'll talk to her". I have been a cashier and I know customers can be a pain in the ass but my friend did NOTHING to warrant such a nasty attitude being thrown at her and causing her such stress. read more
