My son wants the same bike we bought from Walmart at Union City. Unfortunately they were out of the same style, so we decided to go on this location. We found it here at San Leandro, We asked for help for the bike displayed outside, it was located at the garden side but the employee said we have to go all the way at the Customer service up front because no phone to use for paging or to call anyone for help. At the garden side. We walked at the Customer service and asked for help twice but no help, then my husband went back and asked Customer service again for help and when he finally got help, the employee said one moment I'll get back to you. He left and he never came back we waited 30 minutes, watch your PVM, we were standing on the side waiting. They should not get any star at all. No one can help us here. read more

Walmart in general is a given go-to. HOWEVER this particular one has been the ONLY Walmart I've ever had issues with. Store manager has a different mindset from the "pick up manager". I ordered something online & Walmart.com customer service reps (spoke to THREE different ones in a timeframe of 24hrs) told me my items are at this Walmart & all that was left was for receiving to input these items in their store system. I called the store (THREE TIMES) to verify this. First called the line rang for 20mins & when someone answered it was the jewelry department (no lie) the next two times? Luckily I didn't have to wait another 20 mins, whoever it was just answered & shut the phone. Both times. So fast forward another day (my order was placed on Tuesday 8/7 circa 930am & it's now 8/9) I finally decide to make the trip to Walmart. It seems like NO workers want to help, provide info, or service customers. The young lady at the customer service desk huffed at me when I asked to speak with a manager. Come to find out it the store manager & the pick up manager is completely separate. Store manager relays message to pick up manager & did I mention customer service here is very poor? Standing 10-15 feet away reading body language I can tell this the one who don't like to answer phones. She continues to help the rest of these pick up customers & then disappears like it was lunch time already (this is 9am) I'm in the pick up area now pacing back & forth for 20mins. These door greeters watch me all the while talking to each other across the way of the shopping carts. They acknowledged me pacing KNOWING I'm waiting patiently. None of their business? Okay, cool, y'all watching the doors & checking receipts. Not their department? Cool, I guess it ain't. But I mean are y'all listening to music in those ear pieces y'all got on? Making sure your whole squad goes to lunch/break all at once? Listening to audio porn? Or is it just the earpiece with no radio just so y'all can all be apart of a new day of something. I am reviewing yet another Walmart! This one is just alright, not the best I've seen. I came here looking for knock off, cheaper Stanford gear and found nothing but cal state east bay gear (I realized I was too far from then peninsula to find some at that point). I didn't find what I was looking for, which is not this Walmart's fault. I was in the wrong part of the bay area. Their fitting rooms were closed on Sunday night which meant no trying on clothes to make sure they fit. Bummer. read more

I'm not sure if anyone can truly rate this any higher than 2 stars and mean it. This WalMart has seen better days. The floors have rust all over them from moving shelves + fridges and it's just not looking like it's well kept. Their shelves are well stocked though. I have to give them credit for that. I have only been to this Wal-Mart twice in my life. Once, many years ago, for what reason I can't recall, and then recently, a few weeks ago, when I needed to buy a gift bag, portfolio, and Orbit, but was more than a little broke. I fear, I loathe, I despise the entire West Gate parking lot, especially the area outside Wal-Mart. Fagazees, it's crazy out there my friends. So even though I was going to Wal-Mart, I parked by Starbucks and close to Home Depot, but far away from the busier areas. Who cares, I don't mind walking a bit anyway, heck my hips know they can use the walk!! I got what I needed @ Wal-Mart and didn't have to wait long in line. Today, Tuesday 11 June 2019 around 7 pm. I just find out the Walmart employees here especially the returns were little racist and discriminating. I went to return a faulty canopy tent and the returns department advised me that, I cannot return the camping equipments but only exchange it. There was a dark coloured lady in front of me with a similar tent and i saw them advising the same thing. I went and came up with the same item and was in the line and saw the returns people exchanging the canopy tent with money of the same woman who was denied before, who now was with her mother. I then talked with the returns people about the return just happened in front of my eyes and they now told us the returns was possible because the item was not used. how can a policy change of only exchange changed with returns with cash all of a sudden. This is bullshit and discriminating behaviour. read more

Let's be honest here, Walmart is awful. Should have listened to the reviews, should have trusted my gut. For starters, I wasn't expecting much. Brought in an item I had purchased that was not to my satisfaction. Hopped in line at customer service, was helped in a shockingly timely manner. Done, right? My gut told me something was amiss. The experience had been suspiciously smooth... too smooth. 5 minutes for a Walmart return just is not possible. Got back to the car, checked my bank statement on my phone, and, of course! Instead of refunding the amount for the item back to my card, I was charged AGAIN. How Walmart remains in business, I do not know. Truly the worst shopping experience I have ever encountered. Lesson learned. You might think you can circumvent Walmart's horrible service by driving to San Leandro instead of Oakland, or Richmond, but you can't. It'll getcha... no matter what. read more

I don't like that the old Walmart on Hegenberger is closed . This location is just ok but the workers are very helpful and sweet. I'm guessing because half of them came from the Oakland location. The last time that I was inside the store I was helped by Juanita who went above and beyond to find this vacuum that was no longer on the floor, next Lekisha had to call the supervisor because I did not have my receipt or packaging to the item being returned but before that she took very good care of me and was understanding and last but not least Maria the Supervisor. Why does Walmart INSIST on placing giant boxes of junk in the middle of aisles? Seriously, if you were to think about the priorities they considered, "normal human interaction" probably didn't make the cut. I came here with Justin C. to look for a fun hat for his rafting trip and it was surprisingly not that busy. We didn't find one but we got some sponges, which I needed but I didn't want to wait in a long line just for sponges. Another surprise was that the speedy check out was open, two of them! Well, that is where all the good times stopped. We were behind a lady who was taking forever to process the items, then another lady wanted to buy a soft drink and then bought a gift card but the checker was taking forever. Shopped online and had it shipped to this store. Day came for my item to be picked up- what a horrible experience! Took 1.5 hours just to finally get my stuff. The guy ahead of me waited 2 hours. They are an evil franchise. i try not to shop here. i have still been here for black friday because they let you wait inside and get in line for the specific product rather than wait outside and possibly get crushed while entering the store and having to run to the product you want. their food is filled with chemicals. lines are always long. the employees are over worked and under paid. they do try help but you can tell management doesn't give much support to the ground level associates. despite all this when i am short on funds and really need something i will come here. they are dirt cheap after all. read more

I asked a female in the electronic section if she can please help me unlock the glass so I can purchase a controller and she told me she wasn't going to do so till I was ready but I had let her know I was ready and she just walked away ignoring me. I had to again let her know I was ready for her to unlock the glass because I knew exactly what controller I wanted and she didn't hesitate to ignore me and walk away yet again while I was letting her know. I came here to pick up some candy for work, and it was fairly easy to find. The aisles are a bit crowded and there were employees running around to stock items. The shelves are tall, so you'll really have to crane your neck to read labels and stretch to grab the top shelf items. The main issue I had while shopping here was during the check-out process. Since I only had one item, I went to the speed check-out (I believe 15 or fewer items). I asked the cashier if I would be able to return the bag of candy if my workplace didn't end up wanting it. The lady looked extremely confused and starting talking to me in Spanish. I repeated my question using simpler language in hopes that she would understand, but she still wasn't much help. I would have hoped that she knew at least SOME English or grabbed a co-worker who could help, but I just gave up eventually with asking because I didn't want to hold up the line. She was a pleasant and friendly cashier, but she unfortunately couldn't help me out during that shopping experience. read more

So yesterday I go to Walmart to buy some ice cream and I saw that the caramel gelato was Mark down to $1.67 so I went ahead and grab two of them. When I got rung up it came out to $3.68. I took the sales associate with me to go look at the price and told him that the whole bottom shelf was just filled with these gelatos at $1.67. Long story short after 15 minutes of waiting for an assistant manager, she finally comes and tells me I I can only get one gelato for that price. I told her that was pretty messed up because the whole bottom shelf is like this and you can't blame a customer for trying to take advantage of an ice cream that's been marked down. I don't think it's fair , it's not the customers fault that the sales associates keeps misplacing items. It's not the customers fault that everything is misplaced with the wrong price. Does this mean that customers have to start walking around with scanners and make sure that the price is correct because of the sales associates are being lazy. This is not the first time I had to do a price check. Majority of the baby items are misplace or mispriced. read more

Walmart has decided to lockup toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, so on and on. It takes about 30 minutes for someone to even come by the area, and when they do, you have to chase them and ask for help. And surprise surprise, now you have to wait for them to go get a key, or find someone with a key, which is anothet 20 minutes. I recommend going there for hygiene products. Yes, Wal-Mart has extremely low prices, which is why I somehow end up here in the first place. But I think after my last couple visits here, I should just suck up paying the extra cents on whatever I'm getting and consider that the cost of better service/crowd. This one encounter detailed below pretty much sums up every experience I've had here: Me (approaching a salesperson for assistance): "Excuse me, could you please help me get a video game out of display case?" Salesperson (does not stop walking to talk to me): "No, I'm on my way to lunch." Me: *sad face* as I see him rush into the employee back room without saying who else could help. I then spent the next 15 minutes trying to find someone who had the key to open the case. After this whole ordeal, I then have to wait another 15 minutes in line (with only one person in front of me whose credit card seems to be declining). Like other viewers, this statement pretty much sums up my experience at this Walmart: "Low prices, good selections but poor service... Workers talk more than interact/help customers." Also, I do agree that the main aisles are very congested with large boxes that hold on sale/clearance items... HOWEVER it's ten times better than any of the other Walmarts in the area (Union City, Lewelling Blvd (the other SL store), and Hegenberger). There's not even a comparison... But the above is what we should have come to expect from Walmart, right? The parking lot can be a bit of a disaster as well. However, that should be blamed on the drivers, not the stores...
