I stopped here because I needed to go to a Walmart to get some descent priced allergy meds. I even saw the terrible reviews on yelp, but I figured it couldn't be too bad... Well, the good news is that I did eventually get my allergy meds. The bad news was the entire purchasing experience. Fortunately it is easy to find the pharmacy section even in a giant Walmart. However, the pharmacy area wasn't marked at all so it took me a bit to find the allergy meds to begin with. I finally found them, which wasn't too difficult, but as I walked back to the checkout area I realized how long the lines were. I only had 1 item, but even the 10 items or less lines were insanely long. I waited a bit and finally got to the front and when I tried to pay, the machine wouldn't read any of my cards (and yes, they all work fine). So after wasting a few more minutes I ended up realizing (fortunately) that I had $10 in my wallet. I go to leave and look at the redbox on the way out and there were barely any movies in it..kinda strange, but I thought that kinda epitomized the awesome Walmart experience we all have grown to love. There is a lot of cheaper items compared to supermarkets and target, etc. The service is poor here. There is not point in putting a greeter at the entrance of the store if they are going to look away from you and say welcome to walmart in a totally bored, I-don't-want-to-be-here ton. If you are paying them to be there, you are being ripped off. Also!!! I was trying to go down an aisle with my cart. The person who was stocked blocked the entire aisle and she didn't even try to move the carts!!! So disappointing!! Don't come to this Wal-mart if you want semi-decent service. Worst customer service ever. They never pick up phone/ would just pick up phone and hang up on you on purpose

I've never had such a bad experience at Walmart before, I mean it was absurd. I went to purchase an item a hoodie to be exact, and the item kept ringing up "item not found" "item not for sale" so I told them there was a rack of these hoodies, they go look and come back and tell me the item is recalled so I asked for a manager, the manager comes over finally after 2-3 mins of looking for him. I ask him if these items are recalled why are they on the floor being sold? If it's recalled that's a hazard. He told me he would have someone eventually take them off , I said to him this would keep happening if they don't remove them. He said oh well. I asked him again why are they selling a product that's recalled he said he doesn't know and he can't go and take them off because he's working the front. So you're telling me you had RECALLED items on the shelf's for hours? Mmmm ok. I called corporate, I only called them due to the lack of help and understanding. The manger name was carmin by the way. When I called corporate they stated the item is NOT recalled so I asked why would someone lie to me? So CARMIN lied to me stating the item was recalled ... it's one thing if you never scanned it for inventory and someone put it out ... okay I would understand that but to tell me it's recalled when it's not is not acceptable. Corporate asked me to go back inside and ask for the manager and they would speak to him they didn't understand why they wouldn't sell me the item. He told me he wouldn't speak to them and if they had an issue they could call the store. He told me he wasn't selling me the item and that's it. Corporate told me to ask for the other manager due to getting no help from him. Carmin walked away from me multiple times when I tried to speak to him. Carmin kept stating there was no other manager then told me eventually he isn't available right now. I walked to the doors to stand next to them while I spoke to corporate about this, and the security guard told me to move and get out. Totally unacceptable. This store should be punished for the way they treated a customer trying to PURCHASE an item.. I'm a PAYING customer. I'll NEVER go back to this Walmart ever again, so unprofessional and it's not worth my anxiety to deal with this. There are plenty of other Walmarts, and they have a lot more professional staff and wouldn't lie to their customers. After 4-5 terrible experiences for different reasons every time, I am going to make it a point to go elsewhere. I write this as I stand in line for now 37 minutes, mind you 1 person as been in front of me the entire time... just one. The incompetence is unbelievable. I ordered a trash barrel with a top and picked it up last night at the pick up location of the store.The top was wrong but didn't notice until I got home because it was inside the barrel. I called when I got home and was told to go to customer service the next day and they would switch it out. Customer service told me because I ordered it on line I cannot return it there. I asked to speak to a manager. No one shows up so I go look for a manager. I find a woman who tells me to swap the covers myself. Really? I hate this store it's always a mess and poorly managed. And that's why I picked it up. I can't find a top and find another manager, Ernest who is the only person who helped me. I'll never go back. They don't have the top to my barrel or anymore barrels. Ernest gave me a gift card to purchase another barrel but I won't be buying it in Quincy. You lost my business! read more

C'mon, guys. What do you expect? Its a Wal-Mart. If you can't find the item you are looking for, they don't carry it or its out-of-stock. Don't ask because why would they unwrap those huge shipping crates just so you can get that item? If you go to the toy section and you don't see the toy you're looking for, they don't have it. Same goes for every other section. The place is relatively clean and organized. I rarely come here, but when I do I have no problem with this place because I have common sense and know what I expect when walking into a big store like this. I look for what I need and if they don't have it, I leave. Every store in the universe is set up in a way that you'll find what you need without asking. If you can't manage to do that, then I apologize that evolution and common sense passed you. Long lines? Its been like this since they opened. Come 10 minutes earlier so you can wait in line without complaining. When you mix trashy customers and minimum-wage workers together, what the heck do you expect? read more

This place is a nightmare. There are no quick trips here. When you go in there do no expect to leave within a half hour. Start with the parking lot: Carriages everywhere you look, cars everywhere you look people everywhere you look. Not a big deal as this is a busy store. The store itself is decent. It is bigger than the Walmart in Weymouth and has a better selection. This issues I have is that that the place is packed and it is very difficult to navigate around the store. I worked a grocery store in my younger days. Whenever there was a snowstorm in the forecast every nitwit in the general area would panic, all rush the store and pack up on food like it was the end of days. It was mass chaos at the registers. There would be 10 people in every line with a carriage full of groceries. That is what this place is like all the time. When you check out you will be in line for at least 10 minutes. Here is the kicker. Much of this could be alleviated if they would have more people up front. There are over 20 registers there but there is only about 5 or 6 open at any given time. It boggles my mind that a store that busy can only has the few registers open. I suggest driving to Walmart in Weymouth or Target in Braintree. read more

Ok i ordered a futon online and it took less than the time they said which was good, But when i went to pick it up the online pickup station it was not staffed, the guy had gone on break and didn't tell anyone. i looked around for help and saw three differnt women, after asking for help they all told me no English? WTF , how can u hire someone who doesn't speak English? after 20 mins i finally got a manager who did help me but though it was funny that he was the only manager on duty!! if my business ran like this id be out of business? and to top it off i ran into a women who's daughter had her purse stolen and all they did to help her was to tell her to call the cops?? im so glad there is a Target near when i work read more

Reading the other reviews here, we're either talking about two totally different stores or I'm truly anesthetized. I have yet to have a bad experience at this store. Sure, it's crowded at peak times. Sure, a lot of people from the surrounding areas shop here. Yes, the lines can get unwieldy. But it's Walmart. You've gotta expect that. That said, I absolutely love the recent renovations. Everything now makes more sense as far as like items being grouped together rather than having to run halfway across the old store for X that should've been planogrammed next to Y. The pharmacy area is clean, bright, and well laid out. And the grocery section! I can't tell you how giddy it makes me having the opportunity to buy nearly everything in one fell swoop! One thing about grocery prices: Check them. On some items Walmart is actually more expensive than Hannaford or even Stop & Shop, particularly in the dairy/frozen food section. There also seems to be more floor clerks around now. Of course this might be because I tend to shop during off hours, but even when I haven't, it seems they're more visible. I've had clerks approach me in the aisles asking if I need help with anything (at Walmart?!? Really?!?) The cashiers also seem more pleasant. Maybe the suits have been reading the other reviews? Overall, I'm happy with this Walmart. Sure, the Hanover store is bigger and less crowded, but I don't miss it at all. read more

TERRIBLE customer service. I called to check the stock of an item and they said that it was in stock. I drove there and did not find the item I was looking for. I partnered with customer service about the item and they said that it wasn't in stock. I then asked what to do, and they told me to go to the fitting room (for some weird reason). I went to the fitting room and explained that I was sent there. The lady there was rude and was condescending. She asked me if I checked the aisle where it would be and I obviously did. I walked away and told my friend that I will never come back to Walmart. I would have been fine if they politely told me "No." but the fact that they are discoordinated and rude made me never want to come back. read more

As many have said, this Walmart isn't the best one there is in Massachusetts. I have to agree -- there are many carts in the parking lot . The lines are always long and filled. The last time I went there was on Black Friday. They advertised to open at 8PM, but due to a stupid Massachusetts law, they opened after 1AM. I strongly believe that this is the finest Wal Mart in the south shore. It is very friendly and the greeters greet me a lot. I find good deals on hot ticket items such as pants, DVDs (Cheers season 1) and candies of many varieties. One time I had a carriage with a squeaky wheel and the employee (Sharene) gave me WD-40 to put on the wheel, It was so nice. Walmart in Quincy is one of the worst locations yet. Still after stopping here on two different occasions, both when I was in the area, have really showed the true colors of the Quincy Walmart, and make me feel unwelcome back. In my previous review, there was an issue with their website effecting in myself driving all the way to this store to find an item they were supposed to have (but didn't). Self checkout is still not around, and while the checkout area is tiny, they have few registers in general, and even fewer that are open. Lines are always long, and basically all of the cashiers are slow. Selection is dim in every department. I have never seen a full department here ever. Lots of junk laying around, and while organization shouldn't be in perfection in any busy store (like this), office supplies, pet care, and the rug aisles were all in shambles. Quite a disgrace. Just overall not a user-friendly place to shop that's enjoyable. I much prefer other Walmarts. I highly suggest visiting either Avon or Walpole for a better experience. 1 star for the Quincy location. Super disappointed every visit with this place. read more

the third star is only because they remodeled and upgraded the food section. the freezers are all brand new and a lot more frozen food selections. now if it wasn't for that they'd get 2 stars. it's still stinky because of the horrible subway in the store. the cashiers are slow and understaffed. there has never been not one time i didn't have to wait more than 15 min to get through a line. the shelves can be unorganized but really I've gotta say every walmart is the same. this one is no exception. you always here some kid screaming and your random dressed customers. but somehow I still return. read more

Came here 30 minutes before closing to pick up some essentials. Not the best or cleanest Wal Mart I've been to, but Wal- Mart is a Wal-Mart. I only come for the cheap prices. Managed to get around the store just fine and was done within 30 minutes (minus the long lineups at the cashiers.) We went in and attempted to return an item (had a gift receipt), and after waiting 20 minutes gave up (they couldn't figure out how to process the return for the people in front of us). I'd give this place 1 star if possible. I wouldnt call it wal-mart, I'd call it the twilight zone. Seriously people, spend an extra 15 minutes and drive to the one in Weymouth. At this walmart you witness fights in the parking lot over a parking spot. the carts are EVERYWHERE. You smash your car into them and its a complete disaster. people dont know how to walk anywhere but in the middle of the parking lot then look at you like your going to steal there first born for for wanting to park. everyone in this store beats there children for wanting to go to the toy section, its crazy. the express line is longer than a regular line. i fear for my life and my sanity when i come here. read more

This place is an epitome of 'worst customer service'. The site to store service sucks and customer reps are unfriendly & unwilling to help and give me the impression that they don't like customers. Although we live in dorchester mattapan area we came here to return pots and pans that had a dent in them. We were greeted by luisa a rude customer service representative.After waiting in line for about ten mins she let a guy who was not in the line rudely cut in front of us. After that she told us to stand behind the tape, when we were already supposed to be at the register if she didn't let the guy get in front of us with no respect that we had been there first. Another gentlemen joined the front desk and helped us out. We shopped at the super Walmart in saugus, and much better customer service as well as cleanliness and that's y we don't like to go to local shops and businesses near the city incredibly rude and untidy customer service. read more

If I could give this Walmart zero stars, I wouldn't even think twice about it. I don't hate Walmart (I don't love it either) but I HATE this Walmart. I even worked at a Walmart in high school and hated working there but I do not hate Walmart as a whole. I moved to Quincy two years ago and in the two years that I have been here, I have given this Walmart probably about 5 different trys over two years. 4 out of the 5 times, I have left my stuff at the registers and walked out because the lines are RIDICULOUSLY long for NO REASON! Everytime I am standing in line I see of their front end managers and assistant managers (the ones in business clothes that look important) walking back and forth. How about you open a register to get the lines down for 15 minutes? Can't get your hands dirty? Any other place would do that. Any other place I've ever worked at I've see the store manager come and ring a register before he or she would let the lines get to the extreme that this Walmart does. ugh I get upset just writing about it. The store itself isn't that bad. They always seem to have the things that I go in there for which is a shame since again, I usually end up leaving before I even pay. I have literally stood in a non moving line for 30 minutes before. That is just ridiculous. If you even think of coming here anywhere close to closing time, forget about it. You will be there until midnight waiting to check out even though the store closes at 10. The last time I was there (that I waited 30 minutes before I left the line), the front end manager actually told one of the floor workers that the lanes would be open until about midnight to process all the customers! that is ridiculous! Why don't you call everyone on the floor to open the almost 20 registers you have instead of 4!! I'm done ranting now. If Walmart was the only place that had something I needed, I would either drive to any other Walmart despite the distance or just live without it. read more

The line to customer service has been out the door the last couple times I have been there. You would think they would have more then one person working at customer service. I dont know where the customers are coming from but I bet most are not from Quincy. Yelling at each other screaming at there kids for no real reason. I can not tell you what there yelling because none of them speak english. Its like a third world country in there. The Weymouth walmart is alot cleaner and just about everyone speaks english. It's official..... after 20 second chances I'm finally done with Walmart forever !!!!! Took son to Quincy Walmart location above to surprise wife with some plants for her garden- carefully picked out fresh flowers and plants, after torturing son for 50 minutes, I was ready to check out. Garden line had 30 people in it no lie...so I went to front of store 30-40 people in each line !!! Absurd, on a random Tuesday-not a holiday, Nobody coming into store could even get by-they had to go 100 yards out of their way to get into store . As we stood in line cashier after cashier was "let- go" to go to their lunch break---INSANE !!! WHAAAAAAATTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! - We stood in line for over 1/2 hour and basically never moved because all the cashiers are over 90 years old now...Ended up dumping our cart in line and just leaving...The smile on my son's face said it all -"NEVER-AGAIN " !!!!!!! - I'd rather spend a little extra at Lowes and target than be disrespected by Walmart any more- tremendously poor front house management !!!!!!!! Ps- almost forgot to mention that they are paving 1/2 the parking lot so good luck finding a parking spot-the fumes from the paving were nauseating and with it being 80 today- the fumes almost knocked you out- they couldn't pave the parking lot after hours ? She was funny, efficient, engaging and overall a great eye doctor. She had me in and out in less than 30 minutes. My sister and I were checking out at the Quincy falls Blvd store as each employee literally directed my husband and brother in law to completely different registers and they were both paying with a card. Yet told my brother in law that he couldn't use his card there? So as everyone in the store was completely confused by each employee telling everyone to go to completely different registers and pay for cash at one particularregister & cards on self checkout. Now its 11:00pm on the dot as we were literally figuring out where our significant other's had to go pay. We got to the store at 9:30 & had $245 worth of merchandise as the MANAGER was ignorantly telling us to hurry up ,that she had to get home to her family while 4 different customers with their carriages full to the brim were behind us and the Spanish manager told my sister she should have came to the store earlier and she needed to hurry up. im sure it's on camera register 12.She literally said that it was ok if I filed a complaint & let her boss know that she has very little customer service skills & was extremely rude to us & the other customers behind us made her start sighing & mumbled rudely under her breath that she had to be home for her children. Funny since everyone has children to go home to at 11PM they are or should be in bed. Obviously she can't handle the position as a manager and have children at the same time. I work for a high end Salon which is opened until 10PM and I have young children to come home to but never would I be able to keep my job if I said ' its 10pm I got to go home to my family " with out finishing up either a haircut or color ,blow dry anything I am always professional & if I had to stay until 12am to finish my clients I absolutely would. Customers are always satisfied & put first no matter what the case may be & that goes for my entire salon as we are a business that they choose to get beauty services & shop for retail after paying $100's of dollars at on a weekly and or monthly basis Is not only because we are an amazing group of talented hairdresser's that have fabulous personalities and have the upmost respect for our clients, our staff and one another as a family because that is a professional atmosphere and every one is always on the same page. My boss opened up 27 other salons without the state of Massachusetts & Connecticut. As for a company that are all across the world like Walmart disrespect from a manager who is working for you & your company as a manager is very unprofessional since my family & I have spent thousands & thousands of dollars shopping at this particular store is mind boggling. Its on you to pick respectful and responsible employees for your company. We will be going to the Weymouth Walmart after tonight as I have never seen such an unaware, disrespectful & completely unprofessional group of employees in my life. Went to Walmart yesterday 1/2/2011 to buy a plastic storage bin, after choosing the one I wanted we then began our search for the correct cover, since they aren't kept together. After trying several and not finding a match a Walmart employee walked by. I said to her "Do you have the covers to fit this bin?" With her hands in her pockets she walked up the aisle once and said "No I guess not, oh well I don't really know..isn't that weird." Then with her hands still in her pockets she just walked away. Just read all the reviews. It's just awful customer service in general. Lines are way too long. This is a management flaw. Items are never in store, i.e. takes too long to restock or get a shipment in. Again....management flaw. Is there a district manager that is dropping the ball? The only saving grace is the people in the photo department, namely Ken. He was exceptionally considerate with great customer service. Walmart is VERY lucky to have this man as an employee. He went out of his way to assist me with photos. One would think this is the normal thing to do.....however, the department was closed and he reopened it to assist me because he understood my plight and frustration with constantly coming back to the store to check on material delivery. His demeanor was kind and patient. I was completely impressed. As a business owner myself, I would hire him in a heart beat. read more
