Ohhh Walmart. We go when they don't have it anywhere else. I can get some shelved dry good items there very cheap. I get my prescriptions filled at the pharmacy. Customer service is always terrible. 90% of the time when we are on the sales floor and need to find something and ask an employee, they have no idea what we are asking for, or speak absolutely no English and just cannot understand us. We tried asking for canned pumpkin last week and it was a nightmare. They always have to find someone else to ask, who then have to find another employee to ask. Then we all go over like a field group and aaaahhhh there's the pumpkin look everyone! An evil necessity. Socks, prescriptions, hairspray, easy items like that are what we shop at Walmart for. Huge parking lot but it is always crazy. Cops are there all the time for a shoplifter or someone going crazy. Place is always crowded always no matter what time of day. I wish it was a 24 hour Walmart so I can go at 2 in the morning and not have to mentally prepare myself for dealing with a terrible yet somehow huge parking lot, screaming kids running around knocking things over, employees who understand products they sell and where they are, wait 20 minutes in an express lane, and then have someone illegally ask to see my receipt at the exit. Then back out to the parking lot. 10 minutes to find the car. Another 10 to actually leave the lot. 7 minutes home then another 20 minutes of me crying and sobbing and drinking the whole experience away. Note- pharmacy is great. Separate review for that. This place is fkn horrible! Unfortunately, this was one of the few places that could print what I needed, so I placed an order online for pickup. This is my favorite walmart in the bay area. All the employees are very nice, I just get what I need and usually spend like 2 hours every time. I live like 45 minutes away so I love walking around Walmart. I always spend like more than $100 which is like over my budget every time. But oh well, I usually get all my necessities and a little more. I honestly can't really say anything bad about this location. I even had to refund something and that was quick and easy. He knew everything and was so helpful and nice! He approached me right away and made sure he helped me with everything. He helped me find a new phone and set it up for me. They do have great prices on certain items. My only problem is they never answer their phone. I ordered a bike from them and it took forever to get a hold of anyone to put it together so I ended up having to drive all the way there just to tell them that. Once they put the bike together no one called to notify me so I basically had to call a thousand times to find out if it was in fact done. read more

Pretty average wal-mart We came early, so the store was very clean and organized. Seemed to have a good selection. The bathroom was clean. They have a McDonalds inside which makes it convenient to grab a sanck and/or drink for the kids to have while we shop. One overall thing I found was that the employees aren't very friendly. I walked by several and they didn't say anything or even make eye contact. The cashier at the checkout only said a couple of words to me because she had to. They only had a couple of checkouts open, but they moved pretty quickly. Overall, it's a wal-mart. I come here for the large selection and low prices. It helps when they are clean and organized like this one. If I want more customer service, I go to Target. read more

Do not ever order something online and have it shipped to this store. Worst service I have ever experienced in my life. I ordered 2 packages. A TV Stand and a Memory Foam mattress. The TV stand arrived at the store first and I went to go pick it up. I waited in the "Walmart.com Service" area for about 10 minutes before someone finally came out and helped me. When the box was handed to me it was so heavily damaged that an entire corner of the box was ripped off exposing about 8 inches of the product. Luckily, there were only a few minor chips in the wood that I couldn't be bothered about and end up dealing with a return and reorder. Let's just say, I really needed the TV stand. Finally the Mattress arrived and I went to pick it up. First, the guy came back out asking if I ordered a bicycle. I said "No, I got a mattress". He looked confused and then came out with a big box that carried a bicycle after I already told him I didn't buy a bicycle. The bike was to be given to a different person. After about 20 minutes of waiting around, I find out that Walmart had actually given my Mattress to someone else. Not only did they give it to someone else, they forgot to log it in the computer that it was given away and therefore it still showed that it was in stock. Not only that, I asked to be refunded my money and he almost gave me the refund for the bike instead of the mattress. Please avoid this store at all costs. Go to IKEA, go to TARGET, or have something delivered directly to your office or your house. read more

This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. Maybe I'm spoiled from being in Northern Virginia where there were 4 different Walmarts by my house, but if this is the standard for Walmarts in this area, no wonder no one wants to build more stores. We drove 45 minutes just to come here since it was the closest Walmart to our house, and we likely won't be back anytime soon. The place just seemed dirty. I went to get milk, and the entire milk freezer smelled rancid. I went in Wal-Mart one Sunday afternoon and found a car cover for $20.00 + tax which would cost more than $50.00 elsewhere. Yes some items are less expensive than elsewhere. However, I didn't like the unfriendly attitude of the employees. They were watching you as if you were doing something wrong. The cashier wouldn't even put my car cover box in a plastic bag until I explicitly requested it! For the last three weeks my elderly friend and I have had no luck in getting shaving razors here. The shaving razors are now in a locked glass case and the employees or management have the key. The first two tries failed as the employees who we asked either did not understand English or just down right walked away, one even saying to my friend I lost the key. But today it got even worse. I asked an a employee (Mexican Lady) with a yellow vest if she could unlock the case so my friend could purchase his razors. After I asked her she looked at me and with a stare that really said I don't want to help you. We then walked over to the glass case with the razors and she says points to me, "see that red button over there, press it next time!" It's how she said it. Instead of saying, "I would be happy to help you but next time please press that red button so either I or one of the employees can help you." Remember the first two tries the employees refused to help us. She was arrogant and mean, Lacked simple customer service skills and left the encounter in a confrontational way the very worst thing you can do with paying customers. Walmart is a multi-billion dollar company but with employees who refuse to help customers and go about it with a very mean and confrontational way. This is probably the worst Walmart I've ever been too - it's a zoo and because it's so crowded the merchandise is in complete disarray. It's also horribly disorganized (e.g. men's clothing is not near women's clothing), and really lacks clear labels on the aisles. My boyfriend and I came here to grab him some basics like socks, and it took us 15 minutes just to find the men's clothing section. We found the stuff we wanted quickly, and then it took us 30 minutes (no joke, 30 minutes) to check out. There were 20 people in front of us in line and they were only operating half the checkout lines. So ridiculous - we'll go to the Target in Redwood City in the future. read more

I shopped at Walmart at 10am. There was a lot of staff working except at check out. No one working in Gardening, 1 lane for 20 and under items and 1 lane for 21 and up items. The self checkout was staffed. I always spend over $100 and so I have lots of items. I feel if I spend that much money, I should have a checker and my items be bagged. But it appears that Walmart wants everyone to use self checkout or else they don't know how to train their workers to be cashiers. My line had a customer that was not pleasant at all and that problem alone shows how much they need extra cashiers. I was in line over 20 minutes and I kept trying to flag down a manager. Next time I am at Walmart - if there is a next time - I will just leave my cart in line and shop elsewhere. NJW read more

okay, i've frequented walmart back when i lived in the south (until my recent move to the bay area this summer). I KNOW my walmarts...it's a hit or miss and all depending on the neighborhood. and boy i haven't not been at a super walmart in ages...i thought most of them have all upgraded... my gym is in the same shopping center so i thought i'd go there and grab some grocery (cereal, etc) really quick. so i found most of what i needed although the selection's horrible...and of course since it's walmart it's crowded...but i have to say it's much less kept than the ones i've been to back home down in the south... i got to the express line, waited my turn and when i got to the front and put my stuff on the register, the checkout lady took a look at the dude in line behind me and told him that he has more than the number of items the express line allowed, basically wanting him to go to a diff line...and of course dude won't budge, so they just argued back and forth. i would've been ok with it if she was checking my stuff out at the same time...come on, a little bit of efficiency...but noooooo she just stood there and argued with him with no avail...what's the point? you're on the clock, does it matter how many items you check out? it's walmart, it's not like you'll get a break once i, or him check out. well finally she gave up and started checking my items after me nudging my stuff hinting at her to get her to work...SIGH... a tip on how to deal with people, lady...you should've checked him out, THEN kindly remind him not to make that mistake again. arguing about it does not achieve anything and he wins nonetheless...and it makes the situation more unpleasant... i shall avoid this place read more

Don't come here often, but when I have to, it's not pretty. Aisles are messy and it's difficult figuring out if you're even in the right aisle. Oh, and it can get really crowded too. If I have to go to a big box store, I usually stick to the Target across the street, but there are some things (e.g. car batteries) that can only be found here. read more

This location is perfect and close to my house it has good quality goods similar to target and cheaper in pricing which is why I go often the one thing they lack is customer service and the fact that the boss and or supervisor doesn't do anything about the staff is even more terrible I have had two bad encounters with the staff there that I sincerely hope they will get more customer service training because instead telling the customer that they have a bad attitude they should still try to help but I guess they do things differently at WALMART seriously I hate this store now read more

The Wal-Mart that is actually closest to my home is said to be much worse than this one (Story Rd) but Mt View is on my way home from work so I used them for several "site to store" pickups and general shopping over the past few weeks. This location is pretty much ALWAYS packed. Parking is hard to get, there are panhandlers (in Mt View??) and lines are excessive. Stock also runs low on many items and finding someone to help you look for anything is probably not going to happen... If you call their main phone number for info, good luck with that. Both times I've called, I was hung up on when they said they'd transfer me to whatever department. So phone skills are lacking. As for the site-to-store service, meh. It's ok. No one is ever back in the pickup area, in my experience (3 trips) and you have to buzz them to come back to get your stuff. Who you get is the luck of the draw. The first time, I got a girl who was completely unhelpful and the the other two times I got people with reasonable interest in making sure I got my stuff. One pretty lame thing about site-to-store is that the corporate headquarters or whoever it is that sends things TO the store packs items precariously in combined boxes. If you want to return anything in the shipment, you cannot do so right there unless you return EVERYTHING in that boxed shipment. I don't know if this is the normal protocol or just what the people happened to make up that day - but I thought it was lame. On the bright side, prices are cheap. I got some sweet deals on stuff for my new place that cannot be beat elsewhere, and I do appreciate the option of skipping out on shipping costs by picking it up at a store. This particular store is not that spectacular... but supposedly it's the best of the south bay/peninsula options. read more

So this Wal-mart is not as big as other Walmarts in the East Bay. The aisles are tight and on Sundays when it is really crowded it gets difficult going through the aisles with 2 children at tow. Parking is also pretty hectic on Sundays. I was ready with a list -- went in and out. Otherwise I would have left with a headache from the chaos that was Walmart on Sunday. read more

Plenty of parking easily accessible. Plenty of items and food, groceries. At times there are few lanes and takes a long time at checkout but worth cheap prices there. Meats look fresh and clean, no issues with that. Opened most of the time. Store and bathrooms are clean. Sometimes crowded ad kind of sucks you have to pay 10 cents a bag. This walmart has a lot of stuff, but seems very tight when it is busy. Everything at this walmart seems smaller than the other walmarts that I have been to. It could be the lay out of the store, but things just seem very crammed especially during prime time. However, the good thing about this walmart is that there is a charging station so I was able to charge my car while I shopped. Other than that, this is a busy walmart so expect it to be super busy. read more
