Worst experience ever. I have been shopping here since it first opened. I bought something here and needed to exchange it for the same brand but just different type, and I didn't have a receipt. The lady said I cannot return it, although it was unused and still in the condition that I purchased it. They could basically resale it. She said that this went into effect November 1,2018. I told her there is a big sign in back of you that says they will gladly return or exchange a product bought from Walmart with or without a receipt. She said sorry I can't exchange it. Who doesn't love Walmart? It basically has everything at a good price. It's open 24 hours. There's always parking cause the lot is huge. So yes, I love going to Walmart...BUT here is my complaint. For a while now I've been price matching at Walmart. Sometimes I'd bring the Ad and other times I'd forget, but they have always price matched me. The other night I went to buy frozen pizza and I remembered it was on sale at one of the other supermarkets. So I told the lady and she asked for the Ad. What I wanted to say is, "Your commercials on TV say that I don't need the ad." What I said was, I don't have it. Then she got a folder with all the ads in it and we looked through it but didn't find it. I knew it was on sale somewhere. Anyway, I just bought the pizzas. Then when I went home, I looked through my ads and LO AND BEHOLD...there it was. A Safeway insert that was still good. FRICKEN Walmart didn't have the insert. Huge store Great prices Whenever I service my trucks, I hit this place up, they have everything I need at a reasonable price....If a product that you need is not on the shelf, ask one of their workers you run into, they can scan the products bar code on the shelf and see if they have more in their back stock... The shoe department kind of down sized, not as much selection....Someone kept stealing the socks to try on the shoes....asss why......hahaha.......NOT They have a wide variety of audio,visual products, I still have my eyes set on that really big t.v. they have.....One day baby.....My kids love the huge selection of video games ..... They also have a grocery section which is real helpful....And its located near the back door, right before you exit, and enter the garden area..They have a pretty good selection of dry goods, and they have a freezer section that has a good selection of bar-b-que, and quick fix goodies, even ice cold beers........ Trying to breakdown and compare this store to its competition to me is really pointless, these stores are pretty much all the same, except one has McDonald's, one has Pizza Hut and the other has Little Caesars... For me its the little things that make the difference, cleanliness, always smiling customer service, and no long lines....Oh...Oh...And who has the cheapest beer... The parking area is huge, and that I like....If only they would get rid of all that extra shopping carts, that use up a good number of stalls, next to Starbuck's......But there's still plenty of parking stalls, so no worries...... I've been to four of the Wal-Mart stores on the Island, cant really say which one I like better, but because of its great location and closeness to my residence, Mililani has truly got the edge over the other store's, for me....... First I want to start by saying I love walmart. I go to this one at least every week or every other week for good deals. Tonight what I thought was a good deal turned into a very uncomfortable embarrassing situation when I was stopped at the door and accused of stealing from the store. The situation was resolved and I eventually found the receipts to prove I purchased the items, but I nonetheless do not appreciate being treated like a criminal, especially when I've been shopping honestly at every walmart on the island for 20+ years and paying for all my items with no criminal record or bad reputation with any of the stores and this is the way I am treated. So yes, this has not been a good night for me given how I feel over the whole incident and leaves me wondering if I'll have any more problems if I go shopping here again or if I should be prepared for a TSA inspection. I give three stars out of fairness to the store for the merchandise they provide at good prices. It wouldn't be right to give 1 star just because of this episode when 99% of all my visits here have been great. read more

I rarely make it out to this Wal-Mart but I think I should more often. I love coming to Walmart. They have almost everything I need. Although I've been to all the Walmart's on this island. I feel that this Wal-Mart is the best stocked. I'm the type of shopper that likes to roam every aisle lol. I just love to look at what this store has to offer. Sometimes when I'm trying to come up with things in my head for parties or crafts for my kids, I take a very long time in the store lol. Because I'm so indecisive i sometimes take longer then I should lol. Which means I start to have the workers eying me out lol. I have to do a comparison to Costco here on the eye glasses store. Costco wanted $300 for changing the lens only on my frames and charged $18 because they were my frames. One was reading prescription only and one was going to be transition bifocals. What? After a few choice words I called Wal-Mart. They were $100 LESS and that sold me. Seeing (no pun intended) my reeding glasses were just for the computer and newspapers, books, menus, etc. I ordered the least expensive: $39. A few more $ for my own frames, though nearly 1/2 price. Then for $28 I found a pair of totally black frames (sunglasses) with nearly completely black lenses. I had them made into bifocal sunglasses with all the specials. Price? With all this... Less than just lenses at Costco. Shop around. Wal-Mart gives 1 year workmanship and frame warrantee and 30 days on the lenses. Price, choice, service, quality, and speed in making them... Whenever I'm restless or bored at night, I always find myself driving to Walmart. For reasons I have no idea. But boy lemme tell you, this place is deadly! I come here for a few necessities and leave with a bunch of other things I don't even need. It's madness. But I love shopping here because almost everything is affordable! The night, I needed glue, pop tarts, and toothpaste. Random, I know. I ended up leaving with those three items, plus a dry erase board, construction paper, stickers, a journal, and Bon Apetit magazine. Five things I did not need...well I did need the magazine! Hehehe! So I walk out, spending more than I needed and bringing home more junks. Sometimes lines get pretty outrageous, especially at night when there aren't too many workers on registers. Also, some of the associates aren't as helpful as they should be, but the store is very well organized so you can pretty much find things on your own. I'll be back soon! read more

I'm so mixed about this rating. I love this wal-mart more than any other wal-mart and that's likely biased by the fact that I worked there around 7 years ago. Since it was so long ago, much of the people have changed, but I still frequent this store (2126) often enough to know that there still seem to be more congenial people working here than at other wal-marts. I hate to be stereotypical but perhaps that is due to the location. Other than that though, wal-mart is wal-mart wherever you go. The experience honestly doesn't vary much from store to store. I can't complain about very many things because I understand all too well how operations works. If something isn't on the shelf, it's highly unlikely that there are any in the back. This is my honest knowledge from working there. If there are more in the back, it's likely due to the nature of the item--like being too large to adequately stock a shelf for the day, etc. To me, this location has the best parking lot. There are always people around because it's attached to a shopping complex, so I feel like it's safer also. I was always worried about the kunia location because the upstairs lot is somewhat enclosed by a wall and especially the parking garage at the ke'eaumoku location. I hate parking garages. This lot is so straight-forward; for those people I know who get angry at asinine parking-lot designs, this is the place for them. I've witnessed people get road rage JUST at the garage of ke'eaumoku. In my opinion, the layout of this store makes the most sense. Again, that could honestly be biased by me working there, but I can't stand how every other wal-mart is arranged. Convenience factor of this wal-mart is definitely more than the other locations. Need to sneak in some snacks for the theatre? Wal-mart's right over there. Need to have an all-inclusive shopping day? You can get the essentials at Wal-mart and everything else in the shopping center across the parking lot. No traveling far to do separate shopping tasks. I did not give this store five stars because I wanted to discount for the fact that I had once worked there. Other than that though, I honestly have no complaints about this wal-mart yet. read more

I'm not spending money.... let's go to WALMART!" - Me Walmart is a saving grace here on the island for cheap essentials. Would I go here for beauty products? No. Would I go here for electronics? No. But if I need light bulbs or soap or blankets puppies will be ripping to shreds and crate training with, this is the first stop in my head. Open 24 hours, this Walmart is located in the Mililani Shopping Center in the town side. Inside are Mcdonalds and a Mcdonalds cafe. This is by far my favorite Walmart on the island for one reason, cleanliness. Sure, there are other walmart's on the island that are way bigger with more selection, but I always feel like I'm going to find myself on peopleofwalmart.com at these other locations. This location in Mililani feels more like a grocery store than a cheap thrift shop. This one seems to never be too crowded, but good luck trying to find someone to help you. I don't know what it is about Walmart but it's not as good as I remember it. I went to look for a holiday soda product that my friend purchased from this location. So I went and yeah I'm not used to the layout of this location so I was looking for help. I couldn't find anyone working the floors. Everyone was working a cash register and couldn't leave their station. I know it is the holidays and ringing up sales is important but there should be a person or two per section restocking, folding, and assisting customers. If big department stores and smaller grocery stores can do it I would think a national chain as big as Walmart could do it too. The selection at Walmart wasn't that great, but they do have good prices when they have things on sale. Wasn't horrible but I realized I'm not missing much from not going to Walmart. read more

Do not shop here! Customer service is appalling. Also - they don't honor online price match - including from their own Walmart.com. They also don't do in store pick up. No where do they post signs that they don't do in store pick ups. I was buying an item online and went to pick it up at Pearl City and they didn't hold it for me to pick up. They sent me to Millilani and I'm told they don't do in store pick up because someone fraudulently showed an add for a game system for $95.00 and it was actually $500.00. The item I want to buy is a black and decker prep machine - online at Walmart.com it's $26 but in the store its $56. I ask them to call to see if Kapolei has it and I'm watching them stand and talk story. She said they don't answer the phones. The manager on duty was rude and is just standing at the customer service desk. After about 5 mins she sees me looking at her and calls with it in speakerphone. Her name is janelle. Then cashier Shirley tells me she is closing and I can walk over there or wait the register I'm currently standing at. Shirley did apologize for leaving me alone. Unprofessional. There is signage around the store about greeting customers within 10 feet of you and offering support and assistance. BS. I've never been so upset in the lack of caring. It's been 20+ minutes. Walmart doesn't do price matching online for Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico - bS - but ok. However, not for their own webpage? She comes back and stops along the way to talk story and then tells me she can't get ahold of them. She did apologize and then was nice to me. Gaaaawwwwwssshhh!! This place always weasels money out of me. If I need to save money, I seriously have to stay away. It's like they nickel and dime me with exciting prices, and I never walk out with less than a 200 dollar purchase. They do have the best competitive prices; my only complaint is that they have a hard time staying stocked up. -Which I can totally understand, but if they see products flying off the shelf, shouldnt they be on top of keeping them on the shelf? And I know it must be hard since everything is coming from the Mainland... The place is great, (but for a personal example) coming almost every day to find a certain vacuum cleaner and having an associate tell me EVERY TIME I just missed when they got shipped in and must have already been sold, seems kinda BS man. Then I have to give up and settle for something I didnt want and now I feel crumby about it. And it's weird, that seems to happen to me often. I'm usually checking in between the Mililani and Kapolei stores and they both seem to have the same problem and/or never carry the same things in stock. (ex I can find certain hair dyes at one store but Never at the other) Maybe (since they are associated with each other) all the stores should get together and make sure all the stores are keeping satisfactory standards with their customers because it is seriously frustrating for the consumer. read more

This is a Walmart just like any other Walmart here on the island. Though it does get points for being the first one in the state. However the customer service pretty much stink! The woman who works in the jewelry section doesn't even want to help me. I asked if she could help me set my watch that I wanted to buy and she told me just to read the instructions! And than when I wanted to buy the watch she didn't even want to ring me up at her cash register! She told me to go to the set check out line!! I also went to the DVD section and there was throw up on the ground! My dad actually slid on it! I had to go hunt down someone to clean it up! They really need to have employees around. I tried to match a DVD price from target with the ad and the casher fought me on it! I told her that I meet the requirements cause I brought the target ad with the price!! I can see why this place has really low stars!! I went there today to do a return and of course I lost my receipt, I had been doing a lot of shopping at Walmart for graduation leis and over bought. Well they don't accept items without a receipt!!!! Really, just give me a credit to buy more things at your store, nope they don't, even though when I read online the policy it states only certain things don't need a receipt. What I was returning wasn't on that list, but according to one of the Asst Managers, the store can decide what they want. Guess I will now shop somewhere else! To all my Walmart shoppers....can you tell me when their return policy changed?? According to Mililani Walmart (verbal) it changed in October 2017. Funny thing is they have a hard copy printed nicely on a mousepad with a plastic protector over it dated May 2, 2018. So here's the deal: We were gifted diapers for Aria. Unfortunately she can't wear Huggies (she gets a rash). So in short we didn't have a receipt because it was a gift. We wanted a gift card so that we can get Aria something later. We didn't want to get another box of diapers in case she grew out of that size. So it made sense. Anyways, so we get to the register in the customer service area and the clerk tells us our total for the exchange. So okay, fine. We go about the store for about 20-25 minutes gathering items. So finally we return back to customer service with our new items and another clerk tells us we can't use the items for the exchange and that the items all had to be from the infant department...wait, what? How come we were not told the first time, we just spent all that time looking for stuff to equal the total we were told earlier. Ok, so we go to the formula and baby food area (not a big selection and didn't have her formula either) so we finally a few items bibs, baby food, baby spoons, & a teether (another 20 minutes) we go up to the customer service again and as we are waiting to get rung up for the exchange I notice the return & exchange policy on the counter and started to read it... No where on that policy does it state that the exchange items had to be from a certain department. Also, on the policy it does state that gift cards are issued for returns with or without receipts. So we bring this up to the clerk and show her the print out and she tells us that policy changed in October of last year, we showed her the date printed on the hard copy on their counter dated last month. Then by a "manager" she tells us "We don't follow the policy in Hawaii each store can use or refuse at their discretion" Again, we don't see that stated on the policy. I don't get it, Walmart is a national chain!! It's not like a local restaurant where they have a right to refuse service. I'm sorry if I sound like a B right now, but this is friggin ridiculous. I mean seriously? It's not like we are asking for cash back, we just want store credit or a gift card because I know we will be back to shop at Walmart. After all the hoopla, we decided NOT to get an exchange. Instead, we got contact information of higher managers which we will take these issues up to. We just hope that the names we were given exist (we were given JUST first names no last names). How does a manager not know the store manager's full name? Sorry for the long rant as you can see our frustration. This is all just a matter of ethics and principle. 1. You have a policy...Follow the policy or don't have one at all!! 2. Train your staff...so they give out the correct information so customers don't waste their time. 3. Who gives you the right to "modify" policy or not follow policy? If it's from a national chain shouldn't that be enforced by corporate not a store manager, assistant manager, etc.. 4. With all changes or modifications to a policy, shouldn't that be printed on the hard copy and not just verbal. I mean, isn't that why a policy is printed so that customers know the policy and therefore avoid situations and complaints.... DUH! I still gave 2 stars because I still will shop here because of the prices on items we use a lot and the fact it's down the street from us. But as much as possible will NOT return or exchange stuff until they get their policy issues straightened out. read more

This is one has all the basic stuff you are looking for without going out of your way. The place is clean compared to the town locations. So I can leave the hand sanitizer at home! I usually just find my own things here and rarely ask anyone for help. They got pretty much everything with the lowest prices in town. I know Walmart gets a bad review because its messy, overcrowded, employees that dont smile at you. I don't blame people for not smiling. I'm sure lots of bad things happen here, but most of the time I get great happy and friendly cashiers and employees. But overall, I like the store for the prices. This is my nearest Walmart and I frequent it fairly often, usually in the later evening. I usually have to get something in the hardware/paint department and, each time, I dread doing so for the older Filipino man always seems to be working that department and he is a tremendously surly and lazy individual. Every time I have endeavored to ask him a question, his reply has been abrupt, rude and he makes it clear he has far better things to be doing than to help me (those other things always seem to be disappearing into the warehouse portion of the store). Tonight was no exception. I caught up with him, asked him where I could find bathroom scales and have him gesture (with his head) two aisles away. (His hands were empty and, yet again, seemed intent on getting into the back.) I said I had already been down that aisle and he said, "how could you miss them?" as he started to turn away. I replied that I clearly did to which he repeated, "how could you miss them?" When I simply looked at him, he repeated that question once more! And then walked away. I was appalled. Actually, I am still appalled. What makes this even worse is that I have in the past brought his rudeness and lack of service to the attention of the duty manager. So it would appear that Walmart Mililani really doesn't care about customer service. read more

Nice people working, but hard to find help most of the time. Also my biggest complaint is the fact that you have to wait in line to checkout which is normal, but you also have to wait in line to have your receipt checked. Why wait in line twice? Isnt that what the cashier does is make sure you have everything you brought to the counter? If you are worried about theft then hire more security. Check the receipt is tedious and a waste of time. Decent yarn selections and the Hawaiian print, cotton/quilting fabrics were extremely varied! All I needed (this morning) was a few skeins of DMC thread and found it at a reasonable rate, just basic colours though Nearly every sales staff I saw said hallo, and let me tell you, this surprised me and made my shopping experience so much more pleasant!
