This is by far the best Walmart on the island. In fact, I don't even consider the town Walmart a Walmart (the filth of the store and unfriendly/unhelpful staff is not characteristic of a Walmart). This Walmart is trash, I used to work over here, if you work there management will just abuse their power and use you like a damn toy, they hired a bunch of people who are related to management and promote them to better paying positions. Yet the ones that work hard get stuck with all the grunt work. The store manager Debbie turns a blind eye when they see hard working associate struggling and randomly praise the entitled workers. And their TLs are all two faced, they'll be nice to you for a few days or so and decide to stab you in the back and report you for doing something that's "less proactive." Literally my former TL stab me in the back and set me up to get fired. Yes, I shop here often with the wife and kids. No, we're not country bumpkins. It's simply that this Walmart is relatively to my 'lower Mililani' neighborhood (that's what we call Waipio Gentry), and the grocery prices are so much better than my neighborhood Foodland. While I appreciate what the big box store can do for overpriced Hawaii, I'm not a big fan of the parking lot, the constant charitable folks that make me feel guilty if I don't empty my wallet before I ever get in the store, and the constant overcrowded aisles. That stuff aside, Mililani Walmart has most all the everyday type stuff a family of four needs to survive on this island (ie. beer, donuts, and peppermint patties, oh yeah!). I use the self-serve photo development computers in the back of the store often because I can manipulate my digital shots, then print them myself, waiting a mere 10-minutes from selection to completion. Not bad, huh!? Service is what you'd expect from Walmart. The cashiers are generally all nice and efficient, and the door greeters are pleasant. The Pearl City Walmart is nicer, but often times, there are lots of rude race cart drivers going up and down the aisles. Now that the new and, dare I say, classy Walmart in Kapolei is open, we'll probably shop there more times than not. Of course, there's always Tar-jay (Target for the uninitiated). read more

Well, One of the better walmarts. I guess what I mean is, there is ample parking, cleaner than most walmarts, and seems like a better stocked selection when comparing it to the town location. I didn't like the changes they made when they started to add some "fresh" food items. I really don't want to see a super Walmart here. This Wal-Mart is only okay. Maybe it is just me but it has a crammed feel to it and items seem to be located awkwardly. I often have trouble finding things in this Wal-Mart, whereas at the other locations or even target it's easier. I've been to the waikiki and pearl city locations and like them both more. Parking isn't so bad here though. I've experienced better, but staff here is polite and helpful. Walmart is definitely a spot to get all your essentials at a great bargain. I'm able to find many things I need at one store. The only thing I can't get here are fresh meats. No biggie. I know everything else will definitely be cheapest here. The thing that gets me every time is no matter what I'm looking for, most times it's out of stock. I'll come here for a couple specific items and it'll be sold out of course! Next week I go, it's finally in. Probably just my luck though. I like that the parking lot is huge and every aisle has a cart return. There's a McDonald's inside if you get hungry while shopping. The self check out is pretty cool for the inner cashier that's just dieing to ring up groceries lol. In the back of the store they have a photo enter and a couple of kiosks to make prints. If you plan accordingly you could end up with some sweet personalized items. I have done quite a bit of holiday gifts with kids pics at a great price. Overall Walmart is a huge hotspot for us but I think this location could definitely work on keeping a decent stock of popular items regularly. read more

Usually, I have no problems with Walmart. I mean, what can go wrong. You go in, grab whatever you need then wait in a long line to check out. No problem... Usually when I need help, I can always find someone. Today while looking in the school supply area (crayon aisle) a manager or supervisor was talking to his team. He was talking about presentation and asking them questions... I was okay with that because it shows they care about their presentation.... until the Manager/supervisor said 'excuse me' and wanted me to move out of his way. I guess I was in front of his display. I'm like, hello, I am the customer shopping in your store! You should wait until I'm done or hey, how about leading by example and ask me if I need help. I actually said, 'omg, I am the customer'! I love this place and have been coming for many years. They have great customer service and great deals. I love shopping online w/them. Their deals are always better then competitors. One of the problems that I've been having though is when I find great clearance deals and go to check out, some or most of the items are higher than marked. It is very frustrating because if I didn't take the time to look at every item it could've been missed. Learned real quick to pay more attention at checkout then to the price shown on the tag. I hate to be one of those who go home and figure out that I was charged extra. Check your receipts people!!!! read more

After being misdirected to order pickup, then waiting at the counter cause it was closed, along came TREY and everything was right again. He quickly found the order for it loaded up and took it out to our car. Now mind you we didn't bring a truck and that's when it got interesting. But TREY never left us to hang outside to dry. He helped us figure out the logistics and worked with us to break down the box to make the item fit in the car. The whole time spent with us TREY never faltered. He was did it all with a friendly attitude and at no time made us feel out of place. Wal-Mart should clone TREY or have him train the rest of the staff in great customer service. Wow, haven't been here in ages & it's sad that no one greets you like how they used to a long time ago. So I bought some sparking water & took it to the cashier. An elderly lady who was working the register never greeted me or even a "Hi or Hello". How rude! She never said a word in fact until she told me how much it was. Made an online purchase, they give you 4 days to pick up your items, but on the 4th day at the same hour of purchase, they automatically refund your money and put the items back on the floor without notifying you even if it's early in the morning on the 4th day. I had plans to pick up my items on the 4th day, my only day off, and thought I had the whole day. They said because I purchased it at 7am mainland time, I got refunded and the items went back on the floor. Some bull crap. And they didn't try to rectify the situation. Furious. I prefer this Walmart location than the one on Keeamoku. I prefer the parking and people overall. I like the store layout at Walmart Mililani the best. The toys department is the biggest compared to the Honolulu location, in my opinion For some reason, I can't find the K-CUP display that used to hoard all of the aisles near the food department.... did they do away with those K-CUP displays? Or put them elsewhere?? Anyway-that is the only thing i miss here, is the GREAT K-CUP selection I saw few years ago. If anyone knows where they are relocated to in-store, by all means, pls let me know! I love a good K-CUP selection! =) Customer service area here is always real friendly and nice and prompt. Me and my friends went here today at around 830pm to get some car air fresheners, where we needed assistance because it is locked. We approached JOANE for help (shes wearing a yellow vest, idk if that means anything). She did not help us tho. First, she told us to press the "help" intercom so somebody could come and help. We told her we already did a few times then she ended up saying that the intercom is broken. She then asked us to get help from somebody else or "find" the worker that has the key to the glass cabinet then walked away. She was rude too. Then we kinda followed her around just to see if she was busy since she couldn't afford to help us. But no! She was just walking around, pretending to do something. I'm consciously ignoring the insipid corporate welfare, reported labor law violations, unlivable wages and cheaply made, mass-produced garbage merchandise that make Walmart such a blight of capitalism, and instead talking about this specific store and my shopping experience. I mean, if you HAVE to go to Walmart, this location would be it for me. I avoid the Keeaumoku location like the Plague (maybe because I also feel it's quite likely you could CATCH the Plague at that store, and the manic crush of people, all hours of the day (coincidentally also a ripe choice for content for the "People of Walmart" site). Mililani lacks all of that, in the same way I incredulously walk through grocery stores [in suburbs] on the mainland, wondering, "How do they stay in business with so few people in the store??" I'm pleased to say that they had well-stocked shelves, a decent-enough selection of produce in their grocery section, and a seasonal section of Halloween items that was so well organized (and not jammed and crammed with randomly abandoned items and ripped packaging), I ended up impulse-buying some holiday decorations. (Say whaaat?) I didn't need any customer service, which was good because I only encountered a single employee during my visit, but I have absolutely no complaints about my visit. If you live in Mililani, or happen to be in the area and frankly don't know where else you're going to buy some pet food, Hoyhoy traps and trash bags (my list on that trip) in one place, this would be the place to do it. Go on, enjoy the wide-open, empty aisles. You deserve it. read more

But if you're looking to get a few household things for less, it's definitely worth the visit. After many bad experiences here all I can say is avoid this place as much as you can! Sadly this is one of the only department stores in Mililani but trust me if there was any place else I would go there instead. Regardless of what your job title is, customer service is customer service and the employees here definitely don't understand that. None of the employees are on the same page and after giving me the wrong information I just wanted to leave. I had a question about price matching where one of the employees told me I could and another one came and said the store policy had just changed today and now they no longer do price match. That would've been okay if I wasn't given the wrong information the first time and then treated very rudely by both of these employees. I was treated so rudely by an employee named Leslie, who apparently was in the Garden Shop checking receipts of exiting customers. There were racks of potted plants at the Garden entrance which interested me. I was looking at them and was startled by Leslie who came up from behind me and curtly told me that those plants cannot be purchased because they hadn't been "checked in" yet. There was no "excuse me" or "I'm sorry" nor was I even addressed (how about "Excuse me, sir..." or "I'm sorry sir..."). I felt I was being admonished like a kid doing something wrong. OK, I get that the plants weren't checked in. But if you leave racks of potted plants at a busy entrance without a "Not for Sale" sign or some other indicator, how are we to know? Leslie could have been a lot more polite in informing me about the status of the plants. Walmart as a whole has very polite and helpful employees. I am a senior citizen and a long time shopper to know this. But I'm sorry that it took one rude employee to prompt me to write this review. Since when does everyone in your group get carded for alcohol. My husband , myself and our son went to Walmart. As my husband was doing self check out the employee walked over and stood by us and said she need to see his ID and mine for the bottle of wine he was purchasing. ( now I know We look young for our age... but no way We are under 21). I know it's law to ID the purchaser, but really both people. Surprise me they didn't card my 15 year old son who was with us. If shopping in stores it's not too bad although i do feel like pearl city, or kunia walmart has more in stock and variety. If shopping through the app and doing curbside Mililani is a hit or miss. 3 out of 4 times I've used this service I've waited at least 10 minutes to pick up my order. a rude walmart employee at this location would not let me purchase VIRGIN margarita mix. there was no reason to not let me (female, minor) purchase the VIRGIN ALCOHOL LESS margarita juice. she explained to me and my friend that we cannot purchase it because it can be mixed with alcohol. i want to celebrate cinco de mayo in a SAFE and FUN way with my friends by making virgin margaritas! and to be accused of trying to buy alcohol illegally is completely unacceptable. there was NO alcohol in the juice and they wouldn't let us purchase the JUICE because it can be "mixed with alcohol." i had to bring my of age aunty (seventy two) to come buy it for us. i will NOT be accused of being a liar by 3 walmart employees on a saturday night. i would like to add that after i came back with my aunty ( seventy two) to purchase the virgin marg mix through self checkout, we were able to purchase without being cared and without any problems. extremely disappointed. will not be returning. read more

Was in Walmart at 725pm on 12/4/2020, when a disabled woman that had a hard time walking try to go in and get a ride on cart. Take she when in the exit door but the older Walmart employee started to treat the woman like shit. The woman ask if she could get a ride on and the employee told her to go around and the other lady stated to the employee it was hard to have to go around plus there no ride along at the entrance. The lady then ask the employee if she could ho get her a ride on like 5 ft away and was told it not her job to walk around. I told my son to go get one for her. Then we hear the employee call the woman a dumb Halle and try to touch the woman. The lady call the woman a f$$king b##ch. The lady left, crying my wife ask her if she was ok but she was crying to hard. We then said if this is how they treat people we will never go to this one again. Great racism customer service Walmart, but I know the employee never said it and the lady was in the wrong for needing a ride on cart that are by the exit. read more

I wasat the store shopping with my friend and the manager swore that my friend and I were stealing even though we had our stuff in our baskets and went to McDonald's to use the restroom. The manager swore that my friend took stuff into the bathroom. The manager accused my friend of stealing; she ran in the store the bathroom after her and then came out and told me to tell your sister to bring whatever merchandise back out!! I said what the F?? Like who wouldn't say it because this lady manager is straight up saying "tell your sister bring out the merchandise that she took in bathroom with her" yet nothing was taken into the restroom in the first place. So she had her screws really louse. she immediately called the cops to try and say we are trespassing; first off you have to be trespassed in order to get trespassing charges!!! So, after she calls the cops, she continues to tell lies to them and says that we are threatening her and cursing at her. I'm sitting there standing there actually totally dumbfounded cannot believe my ears and she put the phone to her side and says you kiss your mother with that mouth!!! I am floored because I know I didn't even say anything.. Just about then my friend is walking out the bathroom and I explained what was going on. The manager tries lying again tells my friend "I never said that"!!!! Really?? Yet she had just hung up with the cops who she called to have us removed for trespassing?? Hhhmmmm really?? Why did u call the cops then?? My friend is the owner of Giovanni's Shrimp in Haleiwa and other areas. She has more then enough money doesn't have to steal and wouldn't anyways and I own my own tattoo parlor.. so why would I need too?? I understand that there is a lot of thieves in the world but when it comes to Walmart I swear they are thought to racially profile people. Here at this store when my dad goes shopping they hound him and watch everything he does at self check out and they try to stop him almost every time about he didn't ring everything up; when he does. And it's harassment. I see other people that fill their carts up with a lot more then he ever has who go through self check out and they don't even watch them. My dad looks white but it's cause he's so old. I boycott this Walmart!!! I mean are you supposed to shop when you shop there or is Walmart just to go and buy one or two things and have nothing in your cart?? Heaven forbid you have kids and are buying a lot of stuff.
