    This is a darn joke

If you are trying to avoid the crazy hustle and bustle of the Nex and the commissary by Pearl Harbor then this is a good alternative. The prices are a whole lot better than local grocery stores so you can save a buck or two and you will not get charged for plastic bags should you forget your grocery bags. There is a great selection of produce (by far fresher than other commissaries I have been to) and lots of options to shop for locally grown produce too! The store is easy to navigate expect for this one aisle that has soaps and other household goods (when in my opinion they should just put it with the soaps and similar item in the other aisles). I really wanted to give this 4 stars because of how convenient and low-key this location is but sometimes the ID situation can get annoying, so 3 and a half stars if I could. I understand there is 100% check but I find it very rude how they were when my mom came to visit with me. First of all I showed my ID (but seeing as how this is a new post for us I had no idea my mom had to show an ID, usually she would just come in with me). Well, long story short then the lady proceeded to ask that if shes my mom then how old am I to which I just thought wow lady don't you see my white hairs? Grown women can take grocery trips when their family happens to visit. It was annoying to say the least and felt very unwelcoming, as if it was an imposition for my mother to come visit with me on my grocery trip. Another hiccup is that some items are usually not in stock and it takes what feels like forever for them to stock up on them AND once they do get on the shelves there is either only 1 left or none again. Get those items ordered please, especially if they go off the shelves quickly. Aside from this I do love that they have a self-bagging lane especially if you are trying hold onto your money a bit. Another great money saving tip is to get their commissary rewards so you can load digital coupons and save a bit more. Happy shopping!

I really like sushi that are being sold in the Commissary. I really like fresh food. I also like it because the bananas cost less then in the other places.

$2.95 (plus $.05 deposit fee) for a case of 16.9/24pk Aquafina? Why yes, please...don't mind if we do! :)

Limited number of organic foods. Good place to shop for toilet paper, paper towels, basic pantry items.

I love Mililani Safeway because the size of the store is perfect. Waikelel's Safeway gives me anxieties because its big and its A LOT, LOL.. Any time on those days I am able to find a good spot without having to navigate through cars perching or driving round and round looking for a spot. Being greeted as you enter the store is a nice touch. It's a smallish store which is great for us elderly to navigate easily without being on feet too long. Nicely stocked with good variety of items despite the size of store. Love the 2 for $5 Fridays too! Lose one star as no senior or military discount. But I keep going here because I love the cashiers! All are friendly and fun- quick and efficient- especially this Caucasian lady that makes me laugh so hard! She rings it all up, lets me know if I saw the brand was on sale, while bagging everything perfectly. I go to her line just to get my laugh for the day. Store is always clean, plenty of shopping carts, and deli well stocked with a specific area for discounted items.

They've got a crew grilling up steaks and sautéing shrimp like it's a backyard BBQ. I grabbed the steak plate -- $14.99 for steak, rice, salad, AND a drink. Hard to beat that. The process is easy: order with the cashier, grab your receipt, and head to the grill table to pick up your plate. I ate mine in the car before work, and honestly, it hit the spot. Flavorful, filling, and fast. Foodland Mililani's Wednesday grill is a win. This definitely keeps a busy Foodland Marie

I guess they fry a lot of stuff there and the smell of oil gets into my clothes and hair Everytime I go there. Yuk. Last week, I took my chances and got their $6 spicy ahi bento. $6 is a very good deal so I ended up buying 4 for my family. Ok, I really am curious about the 'ahi' that was served. It was all minced up and I swear there was no taste. The consistency was like, and this is kinda gross, raw hamburger, if you can imagine what raw hamburger would taste like. It looked like a legit spicy ahi bento but the taste was bad, the consistency wasn't appetizing and it just wasn't good. Kinda bummed about it because I was looking forward to a yummy dinner that Friday. What's with the Maikai label? Does Foodland really make all of the labeled items or do they just repackage it and slap their name on it? The cashiers are usually good and lines can get quite long. The parking lot can be challenging but you can find a spot. Maybe you need to park far away as it does get crowded.
