I always love stopping by TJ Maxx. Their tote bags are only $0.99 and they're always so cute. This is one of those stores where I have to walk every aisle because you truly never know what you're going to go home with. I usually gravitate toward the travel section first, then make my way over to the body wash area which is always so nicely organized. Their purses and bag charms are the cutest, and I can't resist checking out the clearance section. You can seriously hit the jackpot and find things for like $3. I also love browsing their HomeGoods section. They always have the best seasonal décor, and I try not to leave without grabbing a toy for my dog. Their selection of tough toys is actually really solid for aggressive chewers. Today's haul was actually a win. I walked out with a hand lotion, two body washes, a hair clip, a dog toy, two bags of dried dragon fruit, and a few extra accessories all for $67. I'm proud of myself because normally I'm dropping $200 to $300 without even thinking. Sometimes I really have to tell myself to just stay home or at least sit in the car a little longer before going in lol. Because once I'm inside, it's dangerous. If I want it, I got it. The only downside for me is that as a plus size girl it can be a little hard to find good options in the 3X to 4X range. Overall it's still one of my favorite places to shop. It's basically an instant serotonin boost every time I go. Also if you see Piper K. grab it. Their accessories, especially bag charms and hair pieces, are so good. Shout out to my cashier for neatly packing my pretty hair clips and wrapping it up for me. Be prepared to pick up items that you had no intention on your list and you'd not be the only one to do so as you'll never know what you'll find here and is one of the reason that I do love shopping here. Clothing so many and great varieties and one of the largest place to find beauty items of all kinds though this Kapolei Commons location is a bit smaller than the other locations they still carry an impressive selection of items and the seasonal items is always fun shopping for as the selection of decor can make any part of your home shine. 11 years later, I felt like it was time to update this review, mainly because the customer service has noticeably gone downhill. my past experiences here were solid, but lately, that hasn't been the case. there are a couple of employees who consistently come across as rude & unapproachable. one male employee w/ a ponytail and facial hair must forget that he works in customer service. on one visit, he slammed items he was stocking back into the bin because someone asked him a question. during my time in the store, i've noticed him rolling his eyes at practically everything. if i didn't know any better, i wouldn't think he worked there. then there's the fitting room attendant, who seems to have mastered the art of making customers feel unwelcome. she often stands there with her hands on hips, and a "don't even think about asking me anything" expression, watching people like they're inconveniencing her just by being there. between being ignored and silently judged, the overall experience felt uncomfortable and off putting. i'll make the drive to other locations for a more pleasant experience. read more

Retail therapy in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii... Sometimes, I just need some time to regroup... If I just look at cute stuff, I feel better already! If the cute stuff is on sale, yippee! I'm cured! LOL! TJ Maxx was nearby, so I went to take a look. I searched for Hello Kitty, Cony, Rudolph, pandas, etc. Somehow, TJ Maxx seems to have more Asian cosmetics... from companies like Creme and Pink Sky... Today, there were Hello Kitty eye masks, hairbands, nail files, makeup sponges, and a mug. I even saw Doraemon, the earless cat! I liked the bunny headband and the panda dental floss and shower cap! I found hand soap on clearance and a cute Korean lip balm in a kitty paw container! If I'm in Kapolei again, I'll take another look because I have their credit card, which gives me points that I can redeem later on. DEALAGES hunting........... So if you happen to be at the Kapolei Commons Shopping complex, I must tell you that this mall is a hot bed for a person who is looking for any type of DEALAGES!!!! What's not to like about this mall? You got Ross Dress for Less, Target, Marshalls, & of course TJ Maxx!!! When I popped into Marshalls last week to look for some warm weather clothing, I decided to pop into TJ Maxx as well, as this store was just a hop, skip, & jump away within the same shopping complex. What can I say about TJ Maxx? Although the store looks much more clean and organized than like a store like - Ross Dress for Less, I think TJ Maxx has a little less discount products. They don't carry men's shoes, and I would say overall their clothing selection for men is a lot smaller than the other discount stores. It's not a bad thing, as whenever you choose to visit discount stores like this, it's a "hit or miss" kinda thing. To get the ultimate deal, you just have to be there at the right place, at the right time. Of course when you do find a nice deal, don't hesitate to get it...........if you think about it too long, someone else will come along & snatch it right up!!! You know da rules..........you snooze, you loose! Lol! TJ Maxx. Firstly, they spelled the moniker, max, incorrectly. Secondly, the name of the store doesn't tell the customer exactly what to expect. My sister shops at this store and apparently she likes it. But she likes shopping in general. I enjoy shopping...such as for clothing or groceries...when I know, in general or specifically, what I am getting. I have to have a purpose. I went inside the Kapolei Commons location a few times looking for some new work clothes. You know the kind: dark colors, solids with no designs. No luck at Kapolei's TJ Minn. Their clothing section is not comparable to Ross' or even Marshall's - both at the opposite end of the Commons. A small selection of men's clothing. I think this was the third time I came away without a shirt or trousers. This past Wednesday eve, purchased a couple bags of snacks. Cashews and a trail mix. When you get a Mega Mix from The Maxx...I almost expect Testosterone supplements along with Omega-3's. Discount and moderate pricing. I get why The Maxx is popular, especially with the ladies. Lots of parking because it is at Kapolei Commons. But don't park on the side or back of TJ Maxx as security may chase you away if you are sitting and chilling in your parked vehicle. read more

I agree with another yelper, it's like a treasure hunt! You go in not really needing anything and come out with either a bunch of random unnecessary stuff or nothing at all. I have total regrets when I see something that I like and put it down only to regret it when I get back to my side of the island. The vibes are pretty chill at this location. After coming from Marshall's across the parking lot, I seen a few similar items but not all the same. Hubby was able to find nice Michael Kors collared shirts since he has been promoted to boss man, score! As much as I would like to shop here like ritually, I come in with items in mind but not expecting to fulfill my checklist. I haven't seen a maternity section at any of the TJ Maxx locations I have visited thus far, so I'll just stick to Ross for that check mark. A great TJ MAXX. The parking lot is huge and spacious (next to Target). The staff is friendly and helpful. This location always seems to be fully stocked and not constantly empty like some other competitors. The line moves quickly and efficiently. All staff members are wearing masks and customers are encouraged to do the same. The store is large enough to socially distance and feels clean. We love coming here for pet items, household Knick knacks and recently I found my favorite high end face wash that was discontinued, score! It was also a great stop for holiday shopping. read more

We came here after having brunch at Ruby Tuesday. Oh my goodness! I found a light pink MK jean jacket for $24.00! Such a steal! I also found an Adidas pink hat for $7.99! I find a lot of things at this location. I didn't find that much good high end makeup though. Wasn't anything I liked. The inside was very organized and clean. It was very easy to find items. I also bought some Lucky jeans. I totally scored today. I like this location and it wasn't super crowded. I'm a TJ Maxx/Home goods/Marshall's girl, so happy one is in my neighborhood. I enjoy all the fun, fresh and light colors in the store. I always find something to buy. Everyone that was in the store is friendly. When I bought clothing yesterday, my cashier folded all my clothes before she placed them in the bag. And that is not a normal thing in most stores. Since I'm in Kapolei every weekend for baseball games at Pride Fields, I've been making it a point to check out different places....OMG TJ Maxx in Kapolei is the BOMB! 5 stars all the way! And heres why.... -Customer service is phenomenal, from the moment someone greeted me at the door, to the lady at the fitting room, employees asking if i needed any assistance with anything and the checkout people, everyone was friendly and helpful and genuinely seemed happy to be working there. (They were not disgruntled or grumpy) -Cleanliness and Organization-This place was organized and so clean. Dressing rooms were spotless (no tags, rubbish, leftover clothes in the dressing rooms), restrooms were clean, and every section that I went into was super organized, folded, well stocked, perfectly displayed, sizes in the right places, no clutter on the floor and opened boxes or packages in sight. -Selection-Great Selection on products. The had Shishedo products that were over 50% retail and they were NOT expired. Other name brands like Estee Lauder, Clinique etc were also there. Large selection of facial sheet masks, organic essential oils, hair and face products and make up. Practically every section was great! In the active wear they also had under armour and Nike available and other brands. Very similar to Ross's but better and cleaner! Prices were reasonable and they also had clearance sections which were clearly displayed. I lucked out and found a duvet cover for my comforter. These are usually not available at Ross's and pretty expensive at Macys so i gladly paid 30$ for it. Tj maxx never disappoints. They carry such a wide variety of things, it's hard to walk out without something! If it's not clothing, it's a bag, jewelry, toys, makeup or household items... the store is always pretty well organized so it's not a mad house finding things. Clearance section is always a score. They have clean bathrooms and dressing rooms, always a plus! Parking is good, there's a huge lot that is shared with restaurants, theaters and target. I never have trouble finding a spot. The location is nice. It's fairly new and there are so many other shops and entertainments spots to check out while you're there. read more

Clean stores (this one is brand spankin' new!), awesome brand name merchandise at discounted prices and always exceptional customer service. Pair those qualities with location and you've got the poison to hook a "maxxinista." TJ Maxx opened today at Kapolei Commons (next to Sports Authority and Target) in Kapolei. This location is wonderful!! Plenty of parking spots in a very spacious mini-shopping center. What I bought: - New "rustic" single panes mirror for $19.00 - Mid-century looking bowls - Steve Madden sandals $49.99 - a whole lot of other unmentionables that would lead you to believe I am a hoarder. Great brand names for bedding, clothing, shoes and housewares that you won't find at rival stores at a better price. What I love about TJ Maxx is that their inventory always looks full but not uncluttered. Opening day brings out the best and worst from people but I must say, TJ Maxx employees were awesome. I noticed employees from their other stores helping out with this morning's rush. The wild, wild west isn't so wild anymore. WHAT! I've been here more that 50 times and I never wrote a review of this place? How is that even possible! I may have been waiting to review this place for Halloween as most of the TJ Maxx carries wonderful seasonal items. I come here every chance I get because this TJ Maxx location carries more quality items, in my opinion, than the larger one in town. I'm writing this review in mind prior to the movie theater opening up just across the parking lot, which may change the parking situation here permanently, then I may have to update my review with a 4-star if it becomes an issue. HIGHLIGHTS: - lots of parking!! (before the movie theater sprang up) - super good stuff compared to the other TJ Maxx stores, especially around Halloween! - friendly, fast cashiers - nice dressing rooms - close to Target, Ross Dress for Less, Down To Earth, Menchi's, Pier One, Petco, Sally Beauty Supply, etc. - the seasonal stuff is the best (especially Halloween). Even if there is no holiday or occasion around the corner, the front display usually plays up the time of the year (Summer with nautical goodies, Spring with flowers, Fall with pumpkins, etc) LOWLIGHTS: - not necessarily a reflection on this store location (hence the 5-star) but rather of the TJX Rewards card. I stopped using it because they made it very difficult for me to pay my bill online and I had to send in a paper check, thus delaying my payment even longer while they racked up the interest on my supposedly missed payment...frustrating! When my Costco Visa card comes in TJX Rewards is going into the shredder. Love this place. I am not ashamed to admit that I TJ Maxx hop - hitting up the one in town, the one at Pearlridge, the one at Aiea/Pearlcity and this one, all in one day - yup, usually Halloween time. read more

This is by far the largest T J Maxx that I've been to on Oahu! I think it's about twice the size of the other stores (i.e. Pearl Highlands), and even though they opened less than a week ago, when I went yesterday, there was great parking, plenty of stock, and at 4:40 pm, the store was peaceful and quiet. I love the location of this store. Kapolei has an amazing assortment of shopping available all within about 5 miles. Kapolei Commons has Target, Sports Authority, Down to Earth, Pier 1 Imports, Vitamin World, Ross, Petco...to name a few. In just that area alone, I could shop all day! With huge parking lots and lots of space in store, who wouldn't love it? The store is bright and shiny clean. The employees are so pleasant and happy to be working. I found an item that had no price and no other similar items. It may have taken 15-20 minutes for them to figure out the price, all while I waited with the cashier at the front. The cashier (I couldn't see her name tag) was so pleasant, and we had fun chatting while the person in charge of pricing tried her best to help me. The whole time I could tell that all of the employees were so happy to be working at T J Maxx! I just love shopping in happy places. I found a wide variety of all the things I love to shop for at TJ's--luggage, purses, beauty supplies, shoes, housewares. I didn't look too closely at the clothing since I am not in that market right now, but the department was huge, and at a quick glance, had a nice variety that was well displayed. The best place to browse in the TJ stores is in the lines to cashiers. I rarely experience a line, so usually have to tell others behind me to go ahead because there is so much to look at while "in line". Really great strategy, T J Maxx!! Good place to shop you can find gifts for everyone. I bought me a nice pair of comfortable slippers fit $30 very much worth it. They have home good for the kitchen and bathroom at great prices. They have coffee I always buy bags or k-cups really good prices cheaper than most stores everyday price you don't need to wait for a sale. They have nice 10x mirrors I always buy so I can put on my make up I have hard time seeing. Nice purses I find mine always on sale or reduced price I should say it's a fun place to shop they have candles too. So much for us ladies who like to shop it's like a candy store. read more

Merchandise: They have a wide variety of merchandise from bags, clothing, children's clothing, home decor, shoes and etc. You can find name brand items like Crocs, Nike, Michael Kors, Coach and etc. Prices: You can find cheap to moderately priced items. Name brand items are significantly cheaper than retail price. Clearance items are normally a couple dollars less than the price advertised. Overall, I love coming here and will continue to come back. It's definitely a fun hunt to find items for a great price. I found cute Crocs but the two I found were not my size. I was able to find a leash for my dog and a cute comfy shirt. An upscale version of Ross???? First time in this place and it's actually nice. I got dragged in here after dinner. First thing I think of TJMAXX is cheap and unorganized crap all over the place. And boy was I wrong. I'm the first to admit it. Right when I steeped in I noticed it's well kept. I have been to a couple of Ross's and everything was on the floor and all the boxes are open. Sort of like the day after Black Friday at Walmart. For the record I don't go to Walmart after thanksgiving. I just watch videos of the fights and go when the mayhem is over. Nothing, was on the floor. Everything was on hangers or on the shelves. I didn't go inside the dressing rooms but there was a sales rep that had the area clean and putting away items. In fact, there were sales reps all over the place. Well lit and everything in the men's restroom worked and that was even clean. I'm telling you I was in awe. Check out line was quick and the rep very courteous. Overall four stars. Great experience from my POV not much of a selection. This place definitely caters to women and home goods. Walked into your store yesterday, the layout is super over crowded and I went into the shoe area hoping to find some basic wedge slippers in black for work. All they had was ones with stars rubber style, couple sneaker styles, and some other sandals that were overstocked. I think given that you are in Hawaii and our demand is way different than that of your mainland locations, refocusing needs to be done of what you offer to our islands. Yes I enjoy finding some cute outfits and dresses for discount and the beauty products on sale is nice too but what about the rest?? Probably the best TJ Maxx on the island! Not overly crowded and has a good selection of things. You'll find some of the stuff that you find at all the TJ Max's. Everything is a little bit neater and more organized. People aren't kind of running all over each other and bumping into you.at this TJ Max. Course I went early Saturday morning. Time of day does make a difference. I noticed as I was leaving lots of people were coming in. Still overall I think this is a better TJ Maxx then what you'll find in town. read more

I don't come here often, but usually when I do I don't have any staff coming up to me to ask if I'm doing okay, which happened today and I appreciate it. Also when you walk in someone greets you and when you leave as well. I went to buy a purse that I came back for today, also picked up a pair of sandals...just because. As I was checking out the cashier said she wouldn't recommend me buying the sandals because it has been returned several times because the middle part hurts their feet. Great stocking and clean. Returns to store card stored under purchasers name, only. Gift cards are not returnable. It seems stores are making returns to be used by anyone, more restrictive. Solution: buy something close to the dollar amount, pay cash and get gift receipt. That way they can return w gift receipt and item gets cash back. Win-win read more

TJ Maxx is located in the Kapolei Commons. There's ample parking in front of the store for potential customers. On one of the days of my vacation week in December 2015 I had stepped foot into the store hoping to find a Christmas gift for a family member or friends. As I was browsing around the store I noticed all the clothing for children, women, and men. There were other merchandises that can be purchased at the store as well. I noticed the different sizes of luggage, purses, and even some stuffed animals. The store is very clean and none of the items seemed out of place. I was even greeted by an employee who asked me if I needed any help. Of course I told her I was just browsing around. Nothing really caught my eyes for a gift with exception of the stuffed animal. I'm a sucker for cute cuddly soft stuffed animals. Lol. It's felt like an eternity without my beloved store TJ Maxx. So after a few months of closure you'd think that once they opened they'd feel all the pressure of these eager shoppers and the customer service would be mediocre. Wrong! I shopped here the 2nd day after they finally opened, and was amazed at the patience and aloha spirit this place spews. I had my 1 year old with me and she was being a typical fussy toddler while I was finally letting loose my inner Maxxinista. Alfer, one of your amazing employees was so eager to help me, and she held my cart, my things, and also helped bagged all of my items while she was working the floor. I wish there were more people like Alfer when it comes to customer service because she made me realize why I love Tj Maxx so much. Not just because of the amazing deals, but the employees always made me feel like they love their job. The environment is always so positive and welcome, and I just wanted to give a shout out to Alfer for welcoming back people with open arms after quarantine. Love shopping at this store...they have a great selection of merchandise and the staff is really nice....now having said that, is everyone gonna run out there and deplete the inventory. I live on the East side so driving all the way out there is a trek...but I do enjoy it...then I hit all of the TJ Maxx stores on the way back to town. The store is clean and well stocked. I love going clothes shopping here because you can take as many items as you want, no limit like at Ross. They don't shove a ton of clothes on the racks (like Ross) so you can easily look through the selections. The TJM credit card is worth it since you accrue money off that you receive in the mail. A couple times I've even bought furniture here. They also have a great selection of wall art. I found a piece I loved and went to move the car closer so I didn't have to carry it far. When I got back in the store it was gone! I spent the rest of the day going to all the other Ross stores until I found another one. I appreciate it all the more since I worked so hard to get it. Anyway, TJM is one of my favorite stores. Highly recommend it. read more
