Retail therapy in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii... Sometimes, I just need some time to regroup... If I just look at cute stuff, I feel better already! If the cute stuff is on sale, yippee! I'm cured! LOL! TJ Maxx was nearby, so I went to take a look. I searched for Hello Kitty, Cony, Rudolph, pandas, etc. Somehow, TJ Maxx seems to have more Asian cosmetics... from companies like Creme and Pink Sky... Today, there were Hello Kitty eye masks, hairbands, nail files, makeup sponges, and a mug. I even saw Doraemon, the earless cat! I liked the bunny headband and the panda dental floss and shower cap! I found hand soap on clearance and a cute Korean lip balm in a kitty paw container! If I'm in Kapolei again, I'll take another look because I have their credit card, which gives me points that I can redeem later on. Service was really pleasant and made this a great experience!

11 years later, I felt like it was time to update this review, mainly because the customer service has noticeably gone downhill. my past experiences here were solid, but lately, that hasn't been the case. there are a couple of employees who consistently come across as rude & unapproachable. one male employee w/ a ponytail and facial hair must forget that he works in customer service. on one visit, he slammed items he was stocking back into the bin because someone asked him a question. during my time in the store, i've noticed him rolling his eyes at practically everything. if i didn't know any better, i wouldn't think he worked there. then there's the fitting room attendant, who seems to have mastered the art of making customers feel unwelcome. she often stands there with her hands on hips, and a "don't even think about asking me anything" expression, watching people like they're inconveniencing her just by being there. between being ignored and silently judged, the overall experience felt uncomfortable and off putting. i'll make the drive to other locations for a more pleasant experience.

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there......

DEALAGES hunting........... So if you happen to be at the Kapolei Commons Shopping complex, I must tell you that this mall is a hot bed for a person who is looking for any type of DEALAGES!!!! What's not to like about this mall? You got Ross Dress for Less, Target, Marshalls, & of course TJ Maxx!!! When I popped into Marshalls last week to look for some warm weather clothing, I decided to pop into TJ Maxx as well, as this store was just a hop, skip, & jump away within the same shopping complex. What can I say about TJ Maxx? Although the store looks much more clean and organized than like a store like - Ross Dress for Less, I think TJ Maxx has a little less discount products. They don't carry men's shoes, and I would say overall their clothing selection for men is a lot smaller than the other discount stores. It's not a bad thing, as whenever you choose to visit discount stores like this, it's a "hit or miss" kinda thing. To get the ultimate deal, you just have to be there at the right place, at the right time. Of course when you do find a nice deal, don't hesitate to get it...........if you think about it too long, someone else will come along & snatch it right up!!! You know da rules..........you snooze, you loose! Lol! Anyways, I wasn't here to look for anything in particular, but was just browsing away when I came across a really good deal on a t-shirt (like I really needed another one? Lol). The DEALAGES was just too good to pass up, so I ended up pickin' it up! Lol! Okay, I better get outtah here, otherwise I'd end up buying more unnecessary items that I really don't need! If you happen to be hangin' around at the Kapolei Commons shopping complex & wanna hunt for some DEALAGES? Give TJ Maxx a try!

    Great for blind pets.

TJ Maxx. Firstly, they spelled the moniker, max, incorrectly. Secondly, the name of the store doesn't tell the customer exactly what to expect. My sister shops at this store and apparently she likes it. But she likes shopping in general. I enjoy shopping...such as for clothing or groceries...when I know, in general or specifically, what I am getting. I have to have a purpose. I went inside the Kapolei Commons location a few times looking for some new work clothes. You know the kind: dark colors, solids with no designs. No luck at Kapolei's TJ Minn. Their clothing section is not comparable to Ross' or even Marshall's - both at the opposite end of the Commons. A small selection of men's clothing. I think this was the third time I came away without a shirt or trousers. This past Wednesday eve, purchased a couple bags of snacks. Cashews and a trail mix. When you get a Mega Mix from The Maxx...I almost expect Testosterone supplements along with Omega-3's. Discount and moderate pricing. I get why The Maxx is popular, especially with the ladies. Lots of parking because it is at Kapolei Commons. But don't park on the side or back of TJ Maxx as security may chase you away if you are sitting and chilling in your parked vehicle.

LOVE TJ Maxx and this is a good one. Very clean and everyone was very nice this visit like most visits. Great selection. Friendly and easy return. Me and my wife shop here for a variety of things, specifically all our family clothes. It's normally a first stop when clothes are needed and we visit once or twice a month even if we don't need anything.

MK pink jacket I bought! Such a good deal! Wearing this when it gets close to winter.

We came here after having brunch at Ruby Tuesday. Oh my goodness! I found a light pink MK jean jacket for $24.00! Such a steal! I also found an Adidas pink hat for $7.99! I find a lot of things at this location. I didn't find that much good high end makeup though. Wasn't anything I liked. The inside was very organized and clean. It was very easy to find items. I also bought some Lucky jeans. I totally scored today. I like this location and it wasn't super crowded. Hubby bought our daughter some cute clothing like dresses, shorts, etc. We love shopping at this location. I definitely will be back to find more clothing.

Impressed! They have Shiseido, Clinique, Bliss, estee lauder products.

Since I'm in Kapolei every weekend for baseball games at Pride Fields, I've been making it a point to check out different places....OMG TJ Maxx in Kapolei is the BOMB! 5 stars all the way! And heres why.... -Customer service is phenomenal, from the moment someone greeted me at the door, to the lady at the fitting room, employees asking if i needed any assistance with anything and the checkout people, everyone was friendly and helpful and genuinely seemed happy to be working there. (They were not disgruntled or grumpy) -Cleanliness and Organization-This place was organized and so clean. Dressing rooms were spotless (no tags, rubbish, leftover clothes in the dressing rooms), restrooms were clean, and every section that I went into was super organized, folded, well stocked, perfectly displayed, sizes in the right places, no clutter on the floor and opened boxes or packages in sight. -Selection-Great Selection on products. The had Shishedo products that were over 50% retail and they were NOT expired. Other name brands like Estee Lauder, Clinique etc were also there. Large selection of facial sheet masks, organic essential oils, hair and face products and make up. Practically every section was great! In the active wear they also had under armour and Nike available and other brands. Very similar to Ross's but better and cleaner! Prices were reasonable and they also had clearance sections which were clearly displayed. I lucked out and found a duvet cover for my comforter. These are usually not available at Ross's and pretty expensive at Macys so i gladly paid 30$ for it. Only disappointment is that the womens shoe selection was pretty sparse but other than that shoppers paradise. I might be stopping by every weekend;)

Hello, my name is Victoria and I am a "maxxinista." It's easy to get addicted to TJ Maxx. Clean stores (this one is brand spankin' new!), awesome brand name merchandise at discounted prices and always exceptional customer service. Pair those qualities with location and you've got the poison to hook a "maxxinista." TJ Maxx opened today at Kapolei Commons (next to Sports Authority and Target) in Kapolei. This location is wonderful!! Plenty of parking spots in a very spacious mini-shopping center. What I bought: - New "rustic" single panes mirror for $19.00 - Mid-century looking bowls - Steve Madden sandals $49.99 - a whole lot of other unmentionables that would lead you to believe I am a hoarder. Great brand names for bedding, clothing, shoes and housewares that you won't find at rival stores at a better price. What I love about TJ Maxx is that their inventory always looks full but not uncluttered. Opening day brings out the best and worst from people but I must say, TJ Maxx employees were awesome. I noticed employees from their other stores helping out with this morning's rush. The wild, wild west isn't so wild anymore. The west side is growing and it's no where close to being done but slowly and surely, businesses like TJ Maxx is conquering the west.

Target is not usually my first choice for grocery shopping but I do love it for the home goods section! I've found such amazing home decor finds but have yet to commit to bringing them home with me. Magnolia Table is the most charming brand! I also love Target fashion and absolutely adore the new western collection clothing Target has in stock. The bathing suits are also so cute! I've been looking for a place where I can comfortably look around for plus size clothes that offer 3x-4x options. However, this place is more for regular sizes to 2x. A New Day and Ava and Viv are such cute, classy brands. So, I find myself window shopping here more than actually committing to the products. The clearance section in the back definitely needs some attention and tidying up as some of the clothing have ended up on the floor. What I do like to enjoy from this Target is the occasional Starbucks splurge, the dollar spot section, and I LOVE THE Ulta section. Some of my purchases today were a restock of my soda stream flavors. I chose the peach mango today. I also got a roll of dog food for only $22. My dog Scrappy is bougie and loves fresh food. He is not a kibble kinda guy. At least if he can help it. 9:08 pm - Someone really needs to maintain the bathroom every 30 minutes. Sometimes online shopping is hit or miss, and shipping can take longer than expected. This headset was just under $200. YIKES! It better be a good one! I always enjoy looking at the electronic section and the music section. Once upon a time, I used to collect CDs. And something in me is wanting to collect vinyls but that is such an expensive hobby and my heart is still telling me to save for a new car so window shopping it is. I also love going to Walmart's Tumbler section. There are so many beautiful ways to decorate your Tumbler nowadays. I cant keep up! I also went to the sewing section and fell in love with the fabrics, and it made me want to sew a pillow! Walmart is just a better version of Hobby Lobby because it sells food. That's what makes it dangerous!!! I did finally get my partner's shoes we've been procrastinating to get for months so I'm proud of that. Unfortunately, I didn't have much luck finding a pair of women's size 11 TredSafe work shoes today, which was a little frustrating. But that's okay, I'll try again tomorrow when I have a bit more energy. To make things more interesting, I was dealing with an asthma attack during my shopping trip tonight. Thank goodness for those motorized shopping carts up front, they truly saved the day and made it possible for me to finish my errands. With that, my errands for the day are officially complete. Overall, it was a very productive Wednesday, and I'm calling that a win.

"Sometimes good enough is a better option than wasting resources trying to find an optimal…read moresolution". - Herbert Simon Walmart has pros and cons like most places that we all choose to shop at. I like the convenience of knowing that they open at 6am-ish... Most times it opens up around 6:04 to 6:05 depending upon who's in charge of that area. The store is typical of Wal Mart's layout. Rows and aisles of clothing, food, household goods, etc. Most employees are nice and some you can tell are just trying to make it until break time, which is okay because we all have "days". My biggest issue is having to navigate through aisles that are riddled with pallets and merch needing to be shelved. Sometimes they'll be multiple employees in one aisle with their merch carts crammed against each other try to stock shelves. They're focused and most often won't move for you to get your shopping cart through, let alone get what you need off of the shelf. There are (2) restrooms, one is located in the back near the fabric area and one across the cash registers next to the eyeglass shop. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked. Again, it's a toss up between speaking with a nice, cordial employee and an employee who's just going through it. My recommendation is to have a plan if you're short on time. Especially for people who start work at 6:30am and the store is slow to open at 6am. Have a plan and be ready to do an audible in the event that the area you need items from are congested with merch carts and pallets.

After reviewing this matter carefully, it appears: Store employees near the store exit asked every customer to present a copy of their purchase receipt; In addition to visible checks by store employees at the exit, signs were posted for customers: "Please have receipt ready"; Customers before you presented their receipts and, after a quick verification, their receipts were returned and they exited the store; When the store employee requested you to provide a copy of your purchase receipt, you were not able to and you searched the pockets in your clothes and in your shopping cart but the receipt could not be found; you then stated you had thrown away the receipt; In accordance with store policy, the store employee asked which check-out counter you made the purchase and you pointed in the direction of the self-check stations; You then retrieved your mobile phone and started video recording; As your hands were occupied video recording on your phone, our store employee pushed your cart to the self-check station area and you followed; Upon inspecting the self-check station you were at, there was no receipt. However, your receipt was later recovered from the attendant station after a cashier found a receipt at the self-check station you used and brought it to the attendant station. You continued to focus on your phone to video record. The store employee retrieved the receipt and compared it against the merchandise in your shopping cart; You continued to video record; After verification, the receipt was handed to you before the store employee pushed your cart to the exit area as you continued to video record on your mobile phone. You followed the store employee to the exit area and you left the store with your shopping cart; and On May 22, 2026 (Friday), at 6:36 PM, you submitted a formal report and claim to the store. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Don Don Donki. After spending a significant amount of money in the store and at the food court, I was stopped, detained, and escorted back to the checkout area against my wishes despite having paid for every item in my possession. One of the items I purchased even required an employee to remove a security hard tag during checkout, clearly demonstrating that the merchandise had been properly paid for. I am extremely concerned by the conduct of your security personnel during the incident in question. The video evidence clearly demonstrates that I did not voluntarily consent to returning to the store. Instead, I was directed and escorted back inside by Security Officer Siemens despite my expressed desire to leave the premises. At that time, all merchandise in my possession had already been lawfully purchased and paid for. More troubling is the fact that even after proof of purchase was produced and verified by store employees, Security Officer Siemens continued to retain control over my property and refused to return it immediately. Despite confirmation that all items had been properly paid for, I was treated as though I had committed a criminal act and was escorted from the store in a manner that was humiliating, intimidating, and highly embarrassing. As a paying customer who made multiple purchases at your establishment, including supporting one of your concession vendors, I find this treatment unacceptable. Customers should not be subjected to detention, public humiliation, or interference with their personal property simply because store procedures are inadequately staffed or managed. If receipt verification procedures are causing operational challenges due to a lack of manpower, that burden should not be shifted onto customers who have already completed lawful purchases. Operational shortcomings do not justify the detention of customers, the withholding of personal property, or conduct that may constitute false imprisonment and wrongful interference with personal property rights. I respectfully request a written explanation as to why I was detained, why my property was withheld after proof of purchase was presented, and what corrective actions will be taken to ensure that other customers are not subjected to similar treatment in the future. This incident has caused significant distress, embarrassment, and anxiety, and remains deeply disappointing given the manner in which I was treated despite being a legitimate paying customer What a shame, Don Don Donki. What a shame!

Kapolei Commons is my happy place…read more I find myself here more often than I ever planned because it has so many of my favorite places all in one convenient location. I would say this place or Ka Makana Ali'i One of the biggest reasons I love coming here is the movie theater. With Regal Unlimited, I can watch as many movies as I want. If you're a movie lover, downloading the Regal app and signing up for the membership is definitely worth it. When it comes to shopping, I could spend hours wandering through TJ Maxx, Ross, and Marshalls. I love browsing every aisle because you never know what hidden treasures you'll find. Having a bank right here is also incredibly convenient when I'm running errands. For food and drinks, this place checks all the boxes. Dunkin' is one of my favorites, and I've also fallen in love with Down to Earth and Island Vintage Coffee. Crumbl is perfect when I'm craving something sweet, and Denny's being open 24/7 is always a plus. Whether you're looking for a healthy smoothie, a fresh salad, an acai bowl, a hearty burrito bowl, or a variety of Asian cuisine, you'll find plenty of options here. There's even a yoga studio if you're looking to squeeze in a workout. Don't forget your regular Target run or Petco finds for your pet or even a stop at Office Max for business finds. For me, Kapolei Commons is my go-to destination on the west side. Whether I'm shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, catching a movie, or simply running errands, I can usually find everything I need in one stop.

All my favorite stores in one place?!? Yessss, please!…read more As a Mom and lover of good deals, my favorite stores are: Target, Ross, Tjmaxx, and Marshalls and they're all at this mall! Not only are my favorite stores here but, they always have fun family friendly events! Since they have a big open grassy field, they're able to have outdoor events here. One of our favorite events is Touch a Truck where all types of construction and service vehicles meet at one place. Kids can touch and go onto all types of vehicles such as excavators, fire trucks, police vehicles, and much more! Overall, I absolutely love coming here! There's also a movie theater, tons of takeout and dine in options and for dessert, Crumbl!

But from what I've seen so far, I'm already obsessed! There are so many Hawaiian-style stores that I've never seen before, plus tons of shopping, clothing, and dining options. Some of my favorite spots are here like SoHa and Jollibee. There's also Foodland, Macy's, a gym, and even a Hampton Inn nearby, which makes this area super convenient for both locals and visitors. And let's talk about all the food and fun: Cheesecake Factory, Taqueria Ranchero, and the movies?! Such a good mix of everything. Also... I'm happy to report there's a bathroom nearby by Olive Garden (which is honestly a BIG deal when you're out shopping all day in Hawai'i ). Overall, I love this place and can't wait to come back and explore more!

This shopping center is MASSIVE!…read more Admittedly, I have become a town snob with age. Rarely do I venture outside the "Honolulu" district (Hawaii Kai to Salt Lake is my radius ring) unless a special occasion calls for it. I blame gas prices but really, it's laziness. What brought me out to the 96707 was a new store that popped up just a hop away. Plus I've heard great things about KMA. So why not kill two birds with one stone? I love the array of shops and restaurants! Kapolei in general is bustling with so many shopping centers, you can make a day out of it! I grabbed a shirt from Spencer's, fashion jewelry at Lovisa, and even checked out the movies that day. Will check this place out again with my husband and young boys. There's a bubble play area and a big grassy lawn for active kids. Part two to be continued!
