Kurt stopped everything he was doing to locate an item that showed available yet it was actually a substitute for the particular salad dressing we wanted though close to Katalina dressing it wasn't. But it didn't matter much as we were just happy to get such great help and provided great customer service. Then in another complete different section I was looking for two items which I couldn't find on my own. I asked Rita if she had any idea where they were located. She provided the letter and aisle for two complete separate items and I found them easily. I was so very impressed with her memory to know where the items were! This speaks volumes about Rita and her care for her job and the customers she supports! This is a great Walmart and the prices are hard to beat on island. We are regulars at Walmart and the Pearl City one is the best in my book! Best customer service of any Walmarts I've visited hands down. read more

I've completely switched to being cashless and cardless, relying heavily on Apple Pay whenever possible. Unfortunately, Walmart doesn't currently accept Apple Pay, but they do offer Walmart Pay through their app. By adding my card to the app, all I have to do at checkout is scan the QR code, and payment is completed instantly. It's been a real lifesaver on days when I've forgotten my wallet or just want a quicker checkout experience. It's not quite as seamless as Apple Pay, but once it's set up, it definitely saves time and makes shopping a lot easier. On this shopping trip, I was able to use Walmart Pay simply by downloading the app then adding my banking information in the app and voila, my groceries were paid. I am grateful to Walmart for having this option for customers like myself. read more

We popped in, in search of folding chairs for a mini concert in Waimea Valley. The spouse emerged with two sturdy, medium height foldable chairs with cup holders, no carrying strap which was odd, but very comfortable ($30 ea.) He said the store seemed bigger than ours on Maui but from the air it looks similar. I did notice that the parking lot wasn't as crazy as our sole store as there are multiple locations across Oahu. Nothing is wrong with the Walmart itself. I love this Walmart. They always have every plant I could want in the garden section and everything I need. This is a review of the McDonald's. I had come all the way from laie to go to the Walmart and Sam's Club and decided to stop at the McDonald's inside and all I did was order a chocolate shake really hard to mess up a chocolate shake I don't know what happened, but mine tasted off. Like I order chocolate shakes not that often just because I am lactose intolerant and most of the time I don't have Lactaid pills with me one of the few times I did I decided and it tasted funny like either the machine nozzle hadn't been cleaned properly and either had chemical still in it or hadn't been cleaned at all I ended up having to throw away at least half of my shake because the taste was so bad and this is coming from somebody who loves dairy, even though it hurts me read more

This Walmart is located in Pearl City. I don't frequent this location since it's not close to home, but my husband was getting a procedure nearby and I needed to stay close. I wasn't sure what to expect as the location I normally go to is the Honolulu location which is always a circus. The store was surprisingly well lit, clean and organized! Also not crowded although it may be due to it was in the morning when most people were at work. Parking was easy and plentiful unlike the Honolulu location. I easily found a stall and went in. They have a McDonald's restaurant inside, which is different from the Honolulu location, which has an L&L. They had a nice selection of Easter items given that Easter is coming up next month with Easter candy, baskets, egg decorating kits, etc. I also did check out to see if they had eggs given the egg shortage which they did. Eggs were limited to 2 packs and were kind of expensive but they were available. I ended up finding something that my daughter would like, so I purchased it. It is a super store, so it is spacious. It's location adds to the bustling daily traffic - they're open from 6a til 11p every day, for your everyday value needs. Of course, the location near Ala Moana has a better selection of Hawaiian Gifts and Souvenirs, but, this location has a better atmosphere and ambiance. First of all, the pharmacy staff are great. Also, the curbside staff are fast and friendly, whether I'm shopping or doing Spark deliveries. My only issue is that without fail, the dairy isle is blocked between 4-6pm with a minimum of three full pallets and 4 or 5 stockers blocking the way. They glare at anyone trying to get items out of the refrigerated cases. I understand that stock needs to be replenished when depleted, but why the entire section? I have complained to the store management without any response and nothing changes. Consequently, I seldom shop inside the store anymore, and I KNOW they count on people making impulse purchases. This location has grown on me... The town location is one that I do avoid for many reasons though this Pearl City one has grown on me as I never have a problem finding parking, and it shares the parking lot with Sams Gas which is a super great convenience with one of the best priced gas and basically very little wait for gas. Instead of the L&L they have McDonald's which I'm used to seeing on the Mainland is a nice and always seem to be doing well the layout is something that I'm not used to yet though lately I've been shopping using their app whenever I'm looking for something as it will tell me which location has it in stock and what aisle it's located at making it super easy to find. There is a lot of love hate about Walmart though I have to admit it's more love especially when they have it and at the price that makes you smile as many have raised prices making it so hard to enjoy a bit of extra, here at Walmart it's appreciated. I love shopping at Walmart. I usually buy all my items there including household items. I stock up on items I use frequently. They sell pretty much a lot from food, clothing, makeup, toys etc. aisles are clean and plenty of employees on the floor to help. Nothing is wrong with the Pearl City Walmart, this review is for the Mc Donald's inside. I ordered the Shamrock shake with hot fudge and m&m's. Once I got my order there was everything but the shamrock. When you order the shamrock either shake or just the sundae it's supposed to be green, but mine didn't have any hint of green. I gave it a try anyway and guess what, there was so mint flavoring. So I asked Lexie (the lady who took and gave my order) that this isn't the correct ordered, then asked if I could get the shamrock flavoring because I payed a bit extra. She keeps insisting that there WAS the shamrock flavoring. I told her repeatedly that there was no hint of green or mint flavoring inside it. If she wasn't going to give me what I ordered, then might as well give me a refund. She rolled her eyes and told me that she was unable to give me a refund or make me a brand new order. It's not my fault you messed up my order, you should've done it correctly the first time. They weren't even busy the time I came too. It's just like any other Walmart that I've been to. The one in town has an L & L in it. This one has a McDonald's. Other than that, it's pretty similar. They have clothing near the front of the store and electronics near the back. Cosmetics is near the front of the store, with grocery/freezer items right after it. I wish all Walmarts would have more stock. I'm pretty sure things sell out quickly though. I came to get a fish tank and some supplies to decorate it. The tank that I wanted had a big scratch on it. I asked the worker if they had more in stock, but she told me that it was the last one. I went with another tank. I also purchased black gravel with some fluorescent ones mixed in and that was the last bag. At least I got what I came for. read more

I placed an order and walmart email said it would be delivered for free. The order got split up. The first part of the order arrived late but earlier in the day the lady called the call box I told her I'll come right down. She literally left the package outside the door of the condo and was walking away!!!. The other part of my order came at 9:40pm at night. All I get a Walmart text message starting it arrived. I was already sleeping for some reason I woke up, checked my phone and saw that they dropped off the late order at the front entrance of my condo when I got downstairs, a half an hour later it was gone. On the side, I caught somebody opening the package. It states clearly in the instructions to leave at the front door of my apartment, not the condo building who would ever think that was safe to leave.!!! There was no phone call to ensure I even knew this late ordering was even arriving...i got downstairs 1/2 hour from drop off! Driver named Akmaral. I am done. I stopped here to get a jar of Great Value powder peanut butter. I also picked up a few more items. The store is huge and the isles are narrow. The parking lot is very congested and not easy to maneuver in. Also the local roads are congested and you do not have a direct path off the interstate getting there. Leaving I had a entrance a couple miles away , but it was a straight route. The store personnel were friendly and helpful. They were also collecting donations for something, as you entered and left, but didn't state what it was for. Price for my peanut butter was a couple of dollars more than the mainland, but a good price for Hawaii. I would not return to this store, it's not worth the traffic and both local and interstate. On a positive, they had a McDonald's and a credit union inside the store. read more

1) I momentarily left my cart and when returning, I caught an employee "wetting" her fingers on my romaine lettuce in the cart so she could more easily open a plastic bag. When I challenged her she apologized, went over and got me a new head of lettuce and returned the one she wet her fingers on with the other lettuce on the shelf-disgusting. 2) Home delivery is terrible, late 50 percent of the time with substitutes that aren't even close to what you order. They've had missing items several times and have delivered items that I never ordered. Their "holds" on your credit card are inconsistent. $2.00 on one order, then 30 percent on another of similar price range (around $50.00). I tried getting help from their chat line and after 20 minutes was told simply told to "contact my bank". Online order comes back "out of stock", so I drive to store and find the item fully stocked on the shelf. Broken eggs, melting ice cream. I used to be honest on their review requests, but got no answer other than thanks for your review, we'll use it to improve our service. 3) They often stock their shelves during the busiest shopping hours. Palates next to palates blocking the aisles so that your shopping cart won't fit through. When you mention it to an employee, they look at you like you're crazy. I give up, they've finally lost a pretty regular patron. I'm out of patience. read more

I gotta give it up to Walmart!!! I guess you can say I've been a fan of Walmart ever since the 1st store arrived on our shores in da 808 (I think it was the Mililani location). I like shopping at Walmart mainly for their automotive items, electronics, tools & household products, and of course the snacks. On my recent trek to the Pearl City Walmart, I basically came down here to look for a weightlifting bench. I had a weightlifting bench & a ton of weights at home, but a few years back I decided to give it all away to my friend's son, as I wasn't using the gear that much, as I had a gym membership at 24 Hour Fitness. I guess I never expected to see, and live through a pandemic in my lifetime, and since the this past summer the Covid-19 numbers got pretty high, I figured I'd better back off on going to the gym as some of the gym members were not following the masking rules. I was so happy when I visited the sporting goods section of the Pearl City Walmart. Although Walmart didn't have a super large selection of weightlifting gear, they did have what I was looking for- a small weightlifting bench that would fit perfectly in my little spare room in my house. The price for the bench was very reasonable, and the clerk who assisted me even allowed me to use his work cart to wheel out my weightlifting bench after I had paid for it. Such good customer service! Like I said before, I've been a long time fan of Walmart, and I'm so happy that they have expanded more stores throughout the islands, and have become a part of Hawaii's community. read more

Getting stuff delivered timely from Walmart is a joke!!!! They use a third-party service ("Spark") to deliver your order. Our order has been consistently late. We've had our groceries sprawled out in our garage with produce straight on the floor because they did not want to give a bag. We were consistently lied to about the timing of delivery. They said that the driver tried delivering our order twice. We'll...here's the thing. We have cameras everywhere. There is no trace of a driver. I called Walmart, and their management team doesn't seem to care much either. They bounced me to 5 different areas before I got to speak with a manager. They are unable to track the driver or my order. To cancel means that my charge will stay in my account for a week before it drops. In this case, the order exceeded $200. This would be like paying twice. No assistance. There is no accountability. Poor service. I actually like Walmart. But having been serviced so poorly, I plan to shop elsewhere. Go to TARGET, prices and quality are better, and so far, no delivery issues. read more

One of their cash register personnel whose name is MELE was very rude and impatient she rolled her eyes on me, threw my shopping items on the side(just because I only had 1 shopping bag) and slammed the large items in my cart like the rice bag, toilet paper & paper towels. My daughters tried to help her as much as they can but she was really rude... I am so disappointed today because that store is my go-to store but this might be the last time I will be going there. I get it, it's Walmart, and I usually have high tolerance for unhappy, rude cashiers. You never know what people are going through, but this lady was SUPER rude. She first looked at me like I was bothering her when I first came to her line, I let that go. Then she asked, in a rude tone, if we were paying for the things that I left in our cart, which we already paid for at the pharmacy, I let that go. Then I told her that I had a gift card with a balance, and she snapped "Just put it in the card reader!", I let that go. Then the reader didn't scan the card so I asked if she could input the card number, and she snapped "you do it!" and pointed to the pin pad, I let that go. The machine did nothing so I asked her if there was anything else I could do and she snapped "nothing on my end!", I let that go. She then turn away and rolled her eyes. At that point my tolerance hit the limit so I told her that she didn't have to be mean and can be a little nicer, and she said "what's the problem?" 10 December 2020 I loathe going to Wally World but it's my mother's favourite store. Today we were in the area and she wanted to go get an antihistamine. We pulled in around 1130am and as usual, the parking lot was full indicative of a full store. We were still able to find parking since this store and it's parking lot are massive. At the entry, there is a Salvation Army bell ringer, typical for this time of year. Inside there is hand sanitizer/sani-wipes and a rubbish bin to dispose of the wipes. To the right, there are several stores including McDonalds, Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union, and tax service. To the left there is an optical center and a nail salon. You have to keep going straight to get into the store because the aisle to the left is blocked with retractable lane dividers leading to the cashiers. I'm not sure how long these have been like this but I assume they were recently emplaced to help with distancing.  Thepharmacy and pharmaceutical items are to the back left, the grocery section middle left, and household items to the far left. I did not get much further into he store because everything we needed was in the pharmacy and grocery sections. I like that akl he aisles were clearly marked with the main category of what to find. Some labels are high enough that you can see them from one end of the store. One thing I found strange was the canned been was locked in a hard plastic container and I think it had an alarm sensor. I asked a nearby store associate why that was but she wasn't sure either. I did read online that canned meat items are more desirable by shoplifters as it is considered a luxury and is a hot commodity! Okay, I guess. :/ Checking out was easy. There was a short line but we went to the "express lane" and didn't have to wait long. Just keep in mind that most stores charge for bags now. I think this encourages shoppers to buy or bring their own reusable bags to cut down on waste. I don't usually frequent Walmart but my mother loves it so we will likely be back. read more

I'm amazed at the transformation of this store location. I used to dread shopping in the Holiday section which would normally look like a hurricane hit. Now, it's clean, organized, everything stocked neatly. I've been consistently congratulating the workers on doing such a great job keeping things organized. You know how crazy shoppers get and just mess everything up, especially during sales. But, even during the after Christmas sales, it's neatly stocked everywhere. It's just amazing what a difference it makes. Great job! Also, my online pickup order was expedient. Better than expected. This location must have a new manager who is really doing a fabulous job with the employees. read more

12/03/20 CHRISTMAS INVENTORY REVIEW: We've been driving around, NEX, Home Depot, Walmart's in two other locations, SAMs and COSTCO looking for miscellaneous items for the holidays. Don't waste your time in other places. COME HERE FIRST!! Otherwise you WILL end up here eventually due to the slim pickings elsewhere and would've wasted too much time and energy. Wrapping, ornaments , baking stuff. The only things that were limited in ALL of the stores were outside decorations. Pro shoppers tip: There's so much to see. So many ideas will come at you all at once. If you don't want to be rushed, don't bring your significant other..or your mission will be aborted prematurely and you'll have to schedule another visit! read more

Shopping in Pearl City, Oahu, Hawaii... Yesterday, I went to the Walmart on Keeaumoku Street to look for a sewing machine to give to my sister as an early birthday gift... they were sold out. Today, I ventured to the Walmart in Pearl City in hopes of finding a sewing machine... there were none! To make matters worse, the elastic, thread, and needles were sold out, too! Whoa! They did have some fabric - upholstery type and regular thickness type which is good for making face masks. Since I was at Walmart, I shopped around for great deals. I like looking at the $5 movie bin and the clearance areas. I got some half off Easter candy for my staff - it's a small reward for our graveyard shift workers who sacrifice sleep to put food on their families' tables. I also noticed that this Walmart doesn't cater to tourists as much as the Keeaumoku Street location. The souvenir department was smaller and I don't think I saw fresh flower lei... (I wasn't looking too hard.) I did appreciate the Hawaiian greeting cards and pineapples alongside other produce. I got a card for our Administrative Professional (secretary) for our shift to sign. It's important to remember to thank our Office Assistants... they do so much behind-the-scenes work which goes unnoticed... Overall, I had a great experience with friendly, helpful staff, free parking, convenient restroom, and lots of shopping options! read more

Love me some Walmart! Cheap thrills all around with tons of variety. This review is strictly for Pearl City Walmart's self-checkout. Heres my favorite things about it: (1) Lots of registers and theyre almost always working. No delays. (2) You rarely need an employees help. The machines are great and dont beep if your items arnt in the bagging area, etc. Alcohol are the only items I can think of thatll require assistance. (3) You can pay multiple ways! I LOVE to use my VISA gift cards here. I usually use it as my first payment method if my gift cards have a small amount (like 0.75) and then use my debit card or cash. Its one of the only places that lets you do this. No more wasting gift cards! (4) Lots of clearance here! Keep your eyes peeled for 1.00 items. Find your parking stall & get to shopping! read more

This is my nearest Walmart and I am over the workers acting like I'm in the way. I am very respectful and understand that they are restocking the shelves but not to point I can stand here, get my phone out and take a photo of having to wait for the employee to step to the side. In which she did not. I waited a good minute & finally said "excuse me" then she rolled her eyes. It does not take 3/4 employees in while isle during peak hours to stock a shelf. They need to be more mindful that people with carts are shopping and want to shop and pass through. As a customer I shouldn't have to fight to shop at the store. read more

Looks in the glass case... press the button... he waits, then leaves... By this time I was waiting for 45min. I saw 1 associate, but he was pulling an empty palet w/palet jack and helping another customer.I asked him "Do u have the keys?" I asked?? "No, he replied" By this time I was waiting for 45min.
